Last April I went on my post-vaccine trip to Santo Domingo--without benefit of this forum--and had a pretty good time (basically free Grindr guys and pain Juan binbin ones). Fun to the extent I wanted to go back--now all the more so that I have found this forum and info about Manny and Ezekial's guys! Planning to be there 2 weeks from today.   First a quick report of what I did last year. Stayed at the RIG Casa Conde for 9 days, it was about $40/night, they gave me one of the few rooms overlooking the street with a balcony, which was a nice aspect, I could sit on the threshold of the door (still benefiting from the awesome AC) and watch the world go by. (I confess I'm not a tropical-weather guy.) No problem with having guests, the reception is on the mezzanine and the guys would walk past the glass-enclosed reception, reception never said anything to them but I like that the guys would have an awareness that it is not a totally unsecured place.   As for the fun, yes it was fun. I'm a bottom guy, love big dicks of course, also like nice bodies, handsome faces and good kissers. Started out on the right foot with a Chilean guy a few hours before I arrived who was all of those and ended with a Dominican a few hours before I left who was too. (Nicely, the first and the last were the 2 best!) In between, a lot of guys with 8-9", in their 20s, mostly skinny non-gym, some handsome, some less so. And one guy around 40 with a great body and great kisser who went for hours, reminding me yet again that a big dick is not a requirement for great sex, nor is bareback. I would have about 3-5 guys a day, from about 5 minutes ,to that guy for several hours, pretty slutty although I doubt I qualify for BlkSuperman's league     I'm  open to paying (and did a few times) , but of course why pay for what you can get for free, plus the thrill that this hot guy is fucking me because he's into me not because he's getting paid is priceless. I went there maybe 4 times, went with 3 different guys, the guys were not the super hottest (it's not the 117!) and never more than 10 were there at a time. 2 out of the 3 were very good (one was named Federico) and very obliging (I like it slow suavecito, not pounding and I find it's tough to get straightish escorts to deviate from the doggy-style pounding playbook. Also were good kissers and cool with breeding. You pay the owner, the rate is fixed, about $40 I recall. Once I went by and there was no one I was into and it was no problem that I just looked without buying. (Federico wasn't there otherwise I would have gone with him again.) One time I went with a guy who was boring and not very hard, I mentioned it to the owner and he was apologetic that the guy was new. Virtually no other clients around but this was April 2021, so maybe that's why...   Went to Apollo once on a weekend afternoon, it was actually very busy. Although many were wearing masks, it seemed a little excessive risk even though I was newly vaccinated, and since I wasn't getting a flood of attention (I'm pretty fit, but late 40s, so older than most everyone there) I didn't stick around long. Guys were kind of in the same range I was finding on Grindr. Also went to Cine Lido twice (the idea of sucking off straight guys, I confess, does seem pretty hot) but not very crowded (15-20 guys) and guys not very hot, but maybe because of the pandemic. Incidentally, on the corner to the west of Cine Lido, the Chifa (in parts of Latin America, "Chifa" refers to pre-prepared Chinesish food) the fried chicken is delicious, and was surely the highlight of my two visits to Cine Lido and the culinary highlight of my visit. I walked on my 2 visits, only about 4 blocks uphill from hotel, but as with Juan binbin (in a somewhat similar direction) that may have been too cavalier.    One last thing that made a nice contribution to my trip was the Gym Colonial, on Calle Conde, around only $2 for the day (yes, I love a bargain!)   So, as I say, I had a nice time last year that I was planning on going back this winter (when it is a little cooler) Now that I have read here about Manny and Ezekial's guys (I swear it sounds almost to good to be true!) I am really looking forward to it, I'm eyeing Feb 10-21 with both weekends in SD and maybe 3 days Mon-Thurs in Punta Cana. Is 3 days enough in Punta Cana? I haven't read much about Ezekial's guys here there so think of keeping the emphasis on SD.   When I finalize my plans and buy my tickets, probably next week I will contact them and start browsing the possibilities. Are there any must-haves that I should definitely not miss?? Any ones in particular I should start with?(all other things being equal, I would say to start with the guys who have more beautiful faces but are not quite so XXL and work my way up to the guys who are pure XXL dick plays. My preference is for guys who are open to slow penetration that lasts a long time (some pounding at the end is cool), and who are open to making out. Prefer taller to shorter, but flexible. I hope it is ok to ask, do any of them bareback, it's by no means necessary but all other things being equal, I do prefer it (The trip report from Arabcreamer suggests yes)    So, thanks again guys for any and all suggestions!

Yeah, it was unsettling. I'm glad he didn't have a weapon or anything and I'm thankful that my husband and I had each other. Him not having a weapon gave us an advantage, I believe because there was no way he was going to kick both our asses.

I’ve got a debt of gratitude to all my fellow forum posters.   The knowledge and tales you’ve shared have really been helpful.     I’ll try not to bore you with unnecessary details but I’d like to share my experience in this first trip to Brazil 
 To start, I’m glad I even got here.   With omicron seemingly everywhere I was concerned about getting a negative test for the flight.   Equally concerning is traveling with so many flight cancellations left and right.    To recap what others have said, I needed proof of vaccine, a negative Covid test within 72 hours (PCR test) or an antigen test within 24 hours, a health document filled out and printed within 24 hours as well.     The entire process was smooth on American Airlines part and when I arrived at passport control in Rio he just causally glanced at my vaccine card but didn’t ask for any other documents.   
 
I haven’t traveled internationally in a couple of years and I feel rusty.   I didn’t account for my flight arriving at 730 am and my Airbnb wouldn’t be ready till 3pm.   So I ended up booking a hotel room in Copacabana.   I should have booked the entire previous day to ensure my room was ready.  But it’s all good.    I took Uber from the airport.   One curiosity I’ve had to learn (at least from the airport context) is communication with your driver prior to pickup.   They need confirmation or something via text.   There was miscommunication and I had a few drivers drop the transaction until a lovely lady picked me up.   Uber prices are cheap so I went “upscale” and booked Uber black because it was apparent the moment I exited the doors that winter was behind me and I needed air conditioning.    For what it’s worth my Uber black car was just a non old Honda Civic.  Perfectly capable and acceptable for the price though.  
 
Despite the relatively mild temps, the humidity here is killing me.  It will take a few days to adjust to the weather.  But it feels good to be back in a real city.  The vibe on the street at first appears to be really relaxed and chill.   And my god, Every third guy is my type of guy.   Splitting my time between working in Alaska and holidays at home in Ohio with my family, I encounter very few gay guys and very few that are my type.   
 
I took a long long nap once I got my room and decided to check out Pointe tonight for a little bit.    Let me tell you, it’s like paradise.  There were two dozen guys that easily fall within my type there and I really tried not to bite on the first guy that came around.  It was kind of overwhelming and I’m positive I stuck out like crazy.    I didn’t change into sauna attire as I wasn’t going to be out late tonight but I’ll probably partake in the whole experience tomorrow.  I tell you what I find really endearing, all of the guys seem to be very sincere.  I know that of course it’s a market setting and that  transactions are the goal, but I cant help but be enamored by the gentle yet masculine spirits I encountered.  It’s just really nice.    I hooked up with a super cute guy from Salvador and it was money and time well spent.  Like most of the guys there he had a very nice dick and was a wonderful kisser.   I’m telling you all, this is a Las Vegas buffet but for handsome guys with big dicks.  The three guys I talked to the most asked from 150-200.   My guy wanted 150 and I added a 50 tip on top of that.    
 
It was a good experience.   My lack of Portuguese is a negative though.   I used translation apps to eeek out a conversation but it’s awkward.   This might be a wonderful excuse to spend a few months here taking language classes in my off season.   

In many ways today was a reminder of why I love to travel.   Being in new cultures far from home, away from the normal comforts you cultivate in your home county is a challenge.   It’ll take a few days or a week to get back into my travel mode life.  Especially after our winters of Covid discontent.

I am heading back to Rio and  São Paulo the first week in October. i was last there in May, but now i will be flying from Miami instead of OC airport so a lot shorter flight!

Sad to see it go, always liked the old fragata, even with its subpar facilities. The new place (I went twice) was too hardcore to me … only one suite and no bedsheets in any of the other cabines. Besides that the number of guys where low both days I went.
I think the challenges of the sauna scene are too great in Brazil now - the internet competition, pandemics and juridical insecurity for owners - nothing helps . 

I’ve never really been one for writing trip reports.  Nothing I put together is going to have numazu’s flare.  I also have zero interest in others critiquing my negotiation tactics with the boys which are basically predicated on the fact that a night out where I live that does not involve two “lean and toned and fully vers and passionate” guys that are two-thirds my age costs a good deal more than what I spent at Lagoa on the first night I was there.  That said, I have learned a good deal from this forum that was very useful when I first started traveling to Thailand several years ago and, at least of late, there has been a dearth of trip reports containing current info so (and against my better judgment), here goes:
On Wednesday at Lagoa boys outnumbered clients by a good bit.  Even though there were only two boys that really did it for me, most of the boys there were attractive, especially if you like muscle.  Negotiations started at 200 in both cases and ended at 150 because, well, they were both really hot and I did not travel here to quibble over 50 R.  In both cases though I’m pretty sure they would have agreed to 100 which leads me to Saturday night….
On Thursday, I met Gabriel at Lagoa who was absolutely gorgeous.  Negotiations started at 200 and quickly ended at 100 as soon as I offered it.  We ended up spending the entire night together though so I gave him more which seemed to make him very happy.  While I was with him I learned that he had literally arrive the day before from Minas Gerais.
Friday, I traveled to Rio and went to Point 202.  Client to boy ratio favored clients just as it did at Lagoa.  At Point there were two guys that did it for me and just as it did at Lagoa negotiations started at 200 and ended at 150.  In this case though, I’m not quite as sure they would have gone lower if I had pushed.  Unfortunately, both guys were mechanical when we got into the cabins and I don’t think I will be seeing either one of them again.  I also don’t like the cabins at Point very much.  The ones at Lagoa are nicer.

Well, Brazil, despite Bolsonaro attempts to let the pandemic runs its course (and killing the projected 2 million deaths if no control measures were taken) is starting to see a downturn in cases, thanks to the vaccination rates gathering pace. The restrictions are much softer now (bars and restaurants - including saunas - can stay open up to 11 pm in São Paulo, the state with most restrictions). Keep in mind the virus is still in circulation, but if you are vaccinated and would use masks in public places , I guess it’s an reasonable risk to travel to Brazil now, and you would not lose much in terms of fun in Rio or SP - unless you would want to engage in crowed parties like the ones in The Week or other pool parties (some can still be found,  but “underground”).

In fact, Brazil Visa requirements for US (and I think Australia) were based on a pillar of Diplomacy and International Relations - the principle of Reciprocity. Since US, Australia and Canada requires Brazilians to get a visa to travel to their countries, Brazil used to require the same. That’s not the case for the countries of the Schengen space, with which brazil has a tourism agreement and citizens of both places do not need visas to visit the other.

my house here in The OC was 2 days on the market and had 4 offers likewise when i was looking for one in ClFlorida you had to be prepared to make a offer that same day or it was gone!  so now i start a new phase in my life! 

Unfortunately that has not been my impression. Was at 117 last week and definitely it isn’t what I remember from 2019 and earlier. But nonetheless I had great time and even met a competitive and handsome men’s physique bodybuilder (among others).  About lagoa, was there the week before and had the same feeling, but maybe I’m mixing memories with the old lagoa building. 

Tom, hope you find a great house and have great time in Florida ... but can’t help wondering why , now that you are retired, you are losing time looking for a home elsewhere that is not Rio. You know a retired Tomcal living full time in Rio would become almost a tourist attraction for boys in all Brazil. 

PART THREE:
OMNIA SQUARE (red outline area on map below): This place is brimming with Middle Eastern young men for sex. This is a place you either love or hate (as our other reviews here have shown)!!!! The whole square is very seedy, but the area for sex is the northwestern part of Omonia. This is the part in front of and surrounding the Hondos department store. The Syrian, Iranian, and Iraqis are usually sitting/standing at the top of the tube escalator that empties in front of the juice bar Gregores (red circle). The escalator that empties in front of Hondos (and the elevator area) usually has the Greeks and eastern Europeans (red circle). As you face Hondos, the side pedestrian street on the left side is filled with Afgans and Pakistanis. The same can be found on the right side of Hondos on the side walk. It is also the case that if you cross the street to your east you will find several outdoor cafes. One of them, whose name escapes me, you will find has old gay men sitting with their young male companions. I usually frequent the outdoor café/restaurant right in front of Hondos where I can sit and watch the boys on offer (dotted red on map). When I arrive at Omonia I usually take a complete walk around the Hondos center and then spend a few minutes seeing what is available by standing at the top of one of the two escalators. Now there is a nearby police station, so do not be so stupid as to do business in public. As to where you can go for sex, that is rather easy. All the boys will know that there are three possible sex hotels from which to choose. One is one block to the west (the one I prefer), there is one next to the Kosmopolit cinema, and then one more one block east of that. So, for those not familiar… once you negotiate what you want with the boy and how much to pay, you then proceed to the hotel. Just tells the boys to show you the hotel. You will probably pass a number of female prostitutes along the way who also use these hotels. Once you get to the hotel, you approach the clerk and hand over 5-10 euros depending on which hotel you go to. No id is required. I do this with one swift motion as I hand the 5 euro with my right hand whilst my feet continue to move to the elevator with the boy. It is usually the second floor if you choose the hotel west of Omonia, but that changes over time. The boy will know the floor. Once you get off the elevator, you will be in a hallway with about 10 rooms. There will probably be one or two couples (gay and straight with prostitutes) waiting ahead of you for a room. Once a room is clean, the maid will motion for you and you enter the room. It has a bed with one fitted sheet on top, tv with porn, a bathroom, two towels, and usually a condom. You have between 30-40 minutes until the maid will bang on your door. Most of the Syrians were especially phenomenal kissers and fuckers. Often they would also ask if I would fuck them as well. Interestingly to me, the Afgans always liked to get fucked and kiss.  My usual deal was 25 euro for the boy and 5 euro for the room. I have found it safe 99.9% of the time and only had one problem. I once got a boy back to the room and he stripped. I then looked and noticed he had a small discharge from his penis even before it got hard. It was clear he had gonorrhea or chlamydia , so I used google translate to tell him how to get some medical care. A friend of mine DID have one problem when a guy could not get hard to fuck him, so he paid the guy only 10. The guy went ballistic and would not allow my friend to leave until he paid more. My friend then started yelling for the maid who started banging on the door. The boy had to relent and my friend left. I never had problems and had some amazing repeat business with these boys. Most of these boys ALSO show up a few hours later at Victoria Park where they are also available for more sex. 
TYPICAL DAY: I would begin the morning with work. Around 11:30 am I would take a nice walk to Omonia Square to see if there was a young male appetizer I might enjoy. I would walk completely around Hondos Center and then stand for a while at the top of the two escalators. I would always find someone. After going to the nearby hotel for sex, I would return and settle down at one of the cafes for lunch…usually the one right in front of the Hondos Center. During my time I would regularly make eye contact with another young man and invite him over for lunch. After lunch he and I would go to the sex hotel for some fun. I would then walk back to my place to freshen up and take an afternoon nap. Afterwards, I would walk over to Pedion Park for an afternoon to sample one of the guys there. Then, I would walk back to Omonia for some theatre action where I would always find one or two guys to my liking. After some sex, I would leave and have a coffee and enjoy one of those amazing Greek rice curd desserts they have. I would then return to the theater for one more round. After this I would walk up to Omonia Square and see what was on offer. I would always take at least one guy to the sex hotel for some fun, sometimes two. Afterwards, I would make my way to Victoria Park. They have some nice caffes with outdoor seating right off the top of the tube escalator that are perfect for eating dinner and watching boys. If I did not catch the eye of anyone special, then I would check Grindr or PlanetRomeo to see what was on offer. As was almost always the case, I would find someone in Victoria Park to take back to my place for a late-night snack. I would generally repeat this pattern, but add the two bars especially on Friday/Saturday nights when new guys would appear. For those not yet familiar with these areas, then simply use the street view of google maps and you can see pretty much everything that I noted above. Was supposed to leave tomorrow for Brasil....I've had both vaccines (Moderna) and the last few days I thought I had a cold or flu, got tested today for the trip and it was positive for Covid.
Hearing many people being vaccinated yet asymptomatic , yet I had symptoms. So, I'm not being very optimistic about cruises re-opening and latest reports of Asian countries having more outbreaks.....Cancun is going into red stage Tomorrow.......  

This year 2021 marks 20 years of going to Brazil, usually 4 times a year, sometimes 5.  I wanted to write about some of the friends i have made. this is about “boys”  i have met that are now men in successful careers!  i have stayed in touch with them .
1) A.F. was a guy who at 19 ended up in Rio from the small town a 100 miles from São Paulo.  He is gay and became the boyfriend of one of the sauna owners and a year after that ended, worked in the sauna as a “boy” for about a year and then moved to Paris to be a gogo boy with 2 other sauna guys.  about a year after arriving in Paris he could speak conversational French and enrolled in college and 1 year ago graduated  with a accounting degree, and looks physically like a beautiful muscle god!

He is sitting at the bar in street clothes! He was handsome 21 and attending law school the following year! i saw him every trip i made to Porto Alegre! He became a lawyer 2 years ago, i saw him last a year ago, i remember it well because we were drinking and we had sex 4 times that night, the most ever with one guy in one night! 
3) 12 years ago i was in Rio and met who i thought was one of the most handsome guys i had met, he was in his early 20’s and told me he was in college and going to go to med school. Dentists are allowed to give Botox in  Brazil and when i was there 3 weeks ago he did a session on me and i have to say he did a great job!
I met what was and still is one f the nicest guys ever! a year later he joined the French Foreign legion. At the time he was already a black belt in Brazilian JuJitsu and has been living in the FFL base in Corsica and traveling the world with them! he messaged me yesterday messages me that he has put his 4 years in and is getting out finishing his degree in 1-1/2 years and opening a Brazilian JuJitsu school in France!  He is going to a international competition in Mexico next year!

Wow Tomcal...so many classy and handsome guys...can we change lives for awhile.   It speaks to the fact of you being a truly terrific guy yourself to have and maintain such great friendships over the years.

As rich foreigners, there are expectations about what sleeping with you means for them. Paying clarified what that expectation is and ensures the relationship is as transactional as you wish it to be. It avoids would-be boyfriends expecting a blowjob means they get to move into your life with all their own issues and drama and expense.
Nothing says you can't do those things after paying if you decide you want to invite them to dinner too, but now they're on your terms and not expected.
