I'm getting ready for a flight tomorrow and just realized I have no idea what Thailand's arrival procedures are. I know that the government has fully opened the country to vaccinated tourists, but how do I prove I'm up to date with my jabs? Do I just bring my coupons along and show them to someone at the airport? Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

Great that we don't need that paper or digital mess anymore.

I'm flying tomorrow too with Emirates from Amsterdam, arriving midday Friday.

All of the above answers are correct, from the perspective of the responders

From the OP's perspective, he is obviously upset and disappointed at the experience. To me, the solution for his problem is quite obvious: do not hire again any MB who watches porn when he is having sex with you. Look for and keep the MBs who meet your expectations.

To elaborate, I am top and never have this with bottoms. Sometimes, I take home tops (for whatever reason)  and on occasion they watched videos. Not a big deal at all.

For OP it might be better indeed to discuss this before taking the boy home if it is something he finds important. Just like you would ask other important things, like kissing, bottoming etc.

I can see why it could bother someone.

Yes thank u Dave..but this thread is not about watching porn per se, its' about the MB watching porn when he should be concentrating on being fucked or doing a fuck with the customer who is paying him.

At least the first 2 responders above understood the question.😃

How did Dave not answer your question? He said that he didn't mind and if it was good porn he would watch too.

    I agree with him!

Not sure where this "advice" comes from or whether it's authoritative.

I saw a video of a vlogger the other day and he didn't have his pasport with him while riding a mother bike. When he went to the police station they told him to always have a copy of his pasport including visa page or photos of it on his phone.

I get vicarious embarrassment watching this guy.

  5. 10 to 15 years ago, I wrote blog posts about Vietnam. I had not thought about it for a while, but somehow I got reminded of it and did some digging. Here is an example, and if you guys are interested, I can post some more.

    BOYS OF VIETNAM

It didn’t take long for me to come up with the topic for this first post. Who of us isn’t interested in these Asian delights.

    Follow up:

Even though I’m not a specialized Rice Queen, I do enjoy the spicier things in life. People often ask me “what are the VN boys like?” Good Question! Wouldn’t it be easy if I could just compare the VN boys with (for example) the Thais? If only it was so simple.

Of course, there will be some similarities with boys from other Asian countries, but not as many as you would think. There are two types: “gays” and “boys.” The “gays” are the feminine type and the “boys” are manly. Please don’t confuse this with top and bottom, otherwise you might end up missing out.

Money is almost never motive in any encounter with a VN boy. Compare that with Thailand, where it almost always is. Needless to say; there will always be exceptions.

If a boy doesn't have a motorbike, which many of them don't, you can forget about him coming to meet you. Even though the bus system is HCMC is excellent, the boys refuse to use them. Part of this comes from their lake of independents - the other part is keeping up appearance. They expect you to pick them up at a place of their choosing.

Like many Asian boys from other countries, VN boys are not interested in foreign foods. Taking them to a high class western restaurant, usually ends up in a waste of food and money.

These were just a few thing that came to mind.

    To be continued…

To continue what I started in my first post, here are a few more observations about Vietnamese boys.

    Follow up:

    Part 1 here

When I was young, my parents taught me what was right and wrong social behavior. This of course was measured by western standards. A few examples would be:

    Don't pick your nose
Cough with your hand in front of your mouth
    Don't stare at people
Be care full what you say about people's outside appearance

let me address the last one first. When a Vietnamese boy says you're fat, it doesn't have the same meaning that we westerners give it. Our first impulse might be to feel insulted or maybe hurt, but that's probably not what the boy was aiming for. Having a little extra weight in Vietnam, means that your well off. I like slim boys, and I used to tell them they were slim, and if they didn't understand, thin. I always meant it as a compliment, but it was never received that way. http://www.pinkvn.com/rsc/smilies/icon_lalala.gif

Vietnamese boys are like children, even if they're all grown up. That's how they look at the world - with a childish curiosity. Everything new, different or in any other way interesting has to be closely examined. How many times I haven't been waiting in front of a traffic light with boys staring at me from the left and from the right. In many western countries that's enough to get you into a fist fight.

I'm also amazed about the total nonchalance with which a Vietnamese boy can poke around in his nose. And I'm not talking about a little pinky feel, to see if there's a blockage, no no, I'm talking about a full - five minute live digging show - in plain sight, with or without a happy ending, which of course would be the consummation of any found treasure.

A lot of Vietnamese boys have bad teeth and/or a bad breath. I have sent a boy back home on several occasions. It's something that I just can't deal with. A friend told me that the boys from the north had it worse then their counterparts in the south, and come to think of it...it might be true.

Aren't you being really negative about Vietnam, you might ask. NO! All the generalizations I just made are predominantly based on what I think a gay foreigner will notice more here than in any other country. Most Vietnamese boys are very clean, healthy, have good teeth, a fresh breath and are very well behaved.

    IMHO

It took me a long time not to react to seeing some pick their nose in public. But what really amazes me is that they will cover their mouths when using a toothpick but digging in the nose, no problem.

I found that the bad breath comes more from what they eat versus not brushing the teeth. At times I still have trouble with the smells and that is when I m not eating it :)

All in all, I'm not moving

They will happily pick their noses anywhere....crowded buses, restaraunts, church...no place is too sacred for a good nose picking. And that isn't bad enough....it's when they inspect what came out of their nose with overwhelming interest that turns my stomach. Like they've found a big prize or they are looking for brain tissue.....unbelievably disgusting! The covering your mouth while using a toothpick trick is absolutely foolish when the same person has no problems with public nose picking!

Just arrived! I thought that travellers may welcome the latest news on what's happening at Suvarnabhumi, particularly in the light of the taxi situation and the impact of the conference taking place.

My EVA flight was on time and, walking towards immigration, I was surprised how quiet the airport was. As for Immigration itself, my intention had been to head for the Fast Track but no need; there were no queues and I waltzed through. A charming young woman welcomed me warmly. It made a change from  the usual Officer Grumpy I encounter!

A good start but the luggage was very slow. As slow as it was when the airport was brand new and suffering teething problems. However, a SIM station is  newly open directly next to the luggage  belt and so I was able to buy one as I waited for perhaps thirty minutes.

Now the taxis. As forecast , a huge queue.  i walked further along- that's left from the exit- and to my surprise there was another taxi station I've never noticed before. And with no queue. So future travellers should ignore the queue directly in front of the exit. It's only fifty metres or so extra to walk.

Feeling smug about this, i enjoyed thirty minutes of the journey ....until we arrived at Rama 4, Silom and Surawong. A frustrating crawl. The driver pointed out the Army on stand-by but I can't say that security was the issue. It was, of course, rush- hour.

Back in dear old Tarntawan eventually, after three years away.

Sixty visits? not sure. i recognised not one of the staff. Pleased to see that those old carpets had gone, at last. The rooms are much the same but the beds and linen are first class, better than at more expensive hotels I've stayed in here.  And Tarntawan is certainly well-priced.

At what time did you arrive? I think that might be an important factor too.

Anyone have any knowledge about hiring in Cuba?  I have read that it is not possible to bring a boy or man into your hotel.  Is this correct? If so, what does one do about this?

A friend just arrived in Cuba for the first time. I hooked him up with a boy I know from 3 years ago. I actually just texted him with some question that need to be answered. He will do so after the weekend. I do know that there is a new club, but I forgot the name. I hope to get some good info to post here.

If been to Cuba 3 times and always stayed in an Airbnb. Never had a problem to bring boys. Some nights we took a few boys after Myxto closed.

When @floridarob says "there is nothing there," I don't know if he means food. There are plenty of boys. Food doesn't have to be a problem. When no other option, go to Havana Libra to eat. The atmosphere is like in a school cantina, but they have half decent food. But yeah, you don't go to Cuba for the food 🙂

Ohh, why not go on Gayromeo and find out for yourself? You can talk with some boys and they can tell you the situation. Grindr doesn't work in Cuba.

not my favorite city in Mexico at  all.

I lived in Cancun for a year, but this was back in early 2000. There used to be one club and one bar dancing that I frequented. I don't even remember the names, but they were in old town. I lived directly behind the bar dancing.

It was very popular to go to parties during the weekends. These parties were at people's houses, but as a tourist you would not know about this.

Most people (me included) used internet café's for their daily internet needs. If I remember, gay.com had a chat via web browser. I had some real stunners in Cancun. My problem was that I had stayed in Mexico City the first month of my arrival in Mexico, so I went from being able to score 1 or 2 boys a day in CDMX to 1 or 2 a week in Cancun. Money was never involved.

I have not been back to Cancun since then, and I can imagine that there is nothing left but maybe the Strip.

The humidity in Cancun was a nightmare.

I hear it from many normal gay boys. Every day.
"fem boy" isn't a thing in Thailand. It's another western invention with no real relevance in Thai culture.

20 years in Thailand, visiting and years living, never have I heard someone manly say "Ka."

I don't understand what relevance "fem boy" needs to have when my comment is directed at you and others on this board. You knew immediately what I meant when I said it, right?

    ps

Hehehe, and I just learned that some men do it when they want to talk with a soft tone especially to women...so, that might be why I never heard it. Everyone else can draw their own conclusions.

  10. Japan is great, and you can find guys everywhere, I think. They have a lot of oddities of where you can and cannot go, for a number of different reasons. Too old, too young, too thin, too fat or too foreign. It was hard to figure out sometimes.

I was there in 2015 on business. It was after a back surgery, so I had a hard time walking. Anyway, I was still taking in the sounds and sights when I saw this boy looking at me before the train came. This photo is after he got on the train and me, obviously still outside.

    1.thumb.jpg.ba17ceb077c65b58ea5d8569c09594d5.jpg

So I decided to take a picture head on to see what he would do.

    2.thumb.jpg.a5c6785e2f46a9aeb76ae5716d21fb2b.jpg

And yeah, he kept staring. Was this not the perfect opportunity to make a hand gesture waving him over? Or at least I could have gotten in the train because he seemed to be waiting.

I have messed up opportunities that were much clearer than this one. But this is the only time I got pictures of it.

    Sinlapin Esan Third Road.

Don't let the fact that I get back to the topic disturb you guys' politics.

I have been to Sinlapin Esan a few times when they just opened. Somehow, I never felt as good there as I did in Tamnan kon e-san. I can remember Tamnan perfectly. I would usually come during the first show, which was basically practising. We would have some food and of course our bottles. After the practice show, they would play some pop music from east and west. Then the main show would start en the place would be full. Mix of money boys and lots of guys that worked in hotels etc. The toilet was always an adventure with the many boys that worked there. if they knew you were a good tipper, you would be sure to get a nice 2, 4 or even 6 handed massage.

I remember taking a waiter home one night. Poor boy! He had no idea what to do and this led to some awkward situations hahaha. I'm not one for showing these boys the ropes. The point is that these kinds of contacts were possible. And yes, it was pay for play, but because you could walk around and talk to people at other tables, or flirt from a distance etc. it could give the feeling of a little hunt, compared to à gogo where it was shooting fish in a barrel.

The only thing that comes to mind when I think about Sinlapin Esan is that I remember comparing it with Tamnan, and that it came up short. But I don't remember any specifics about the show, staff or even setup. Looking forward to getting back there and hopefully like it.

Ohh, yeah, one difference I do remember. They were checking IDs very thoroughly in Sinlapsin. This was irritating because sometimes the boys in our group were 18 or 19. Again, this was years ago.

Good job mate. Those drives are the best if you ask me.

Spending well over 1000 Euros to get to Thailand, then trying to save that last 25 to 30 Euros would be very excessive if you ask me. It's great that someone is waiting for you at the airport, takes your luggage out of your hands and drives you where you need to go within an hour and a half, depending on traffic.

But this is after a very long trip. I can imagine taking a Bell or those normal public buses when I would fly in the region or domestically. Especially the Bell bus is an interesting experience.

My tips have always been a minimum of 100 baht for the drivers that didn't really give much effort, and 200 for those that did their best and made me feel welcome. That's 10 to 20 % on my bill, which should be sufficient.

Depending on what time you arrive, be prepared for taxi shortage, according to Airports of Thailand (AOT).

I have seen crazy lines for taxi's before. But many on this board have recommended Mike's taxi, and I booked one for my BKK to Pattaya trip. BTW, they still only charge 1000 baht, whereas Mr T (a service I have used previously) now charges 1200. I am really prepared to spend some money this trip, but those 200 baht, I'd rater tip the boys.
