Due to technical bit of goofiness anything that touches videotape (or gets broadcast, turns out) needs to be 23.98 or 29.97 FPS. What I just learned was the reason for that technical goofiness (the inclusion of color information in the signal), after years of working with it. Prior to that, films were shot at frame rates as slow as 16 frames-per-second. That's why old silent films often look fast and jerky when run at the higher speed. They don't give you headaches like the pill and they come in different flavors. They are also quicker to work. Usually in about 15 minutes.
