Even the densest Republicans are sure to eventually stumble on Kamala's dubious birthplace citizenship, at least as far as the presidency.  Neither of her parents were US citizens when she was born in the US and there's growing consensus among legal scholars that the birthplace citizenship test of the 1898 Wong case is just legal baloney made up by a poor court and stupid policy. It's absurd in a day of easy international transit and birthplace tourism. Before 1898 that was not US law and it's a very feeble case with no reasoning. Plus the constitution requires the president to be a natural born citizen subject to the full jurisdiction of the US, which children born here of foreigners are not.

Now Harris, as a follow-up to Obama

Two Blacks:  There is no case, just conspiracies

Since her parents were born prior to independence of, respectively, Jamaica and India, do they not have in common with the first 8 presidents being born British subjects? lol, Slam dunk for Harris. Would not her citizenship by birth be no less equal to, as robust as, their citizenship by default naturalization at Independence?

Now then, the name of a Hindu deity ... that could be her undoing on the voting ballots. How unChristian, so unAmerican.

For the friends who pretend to read Chomsky and to imagine that their political hallucinations are supported by him, perhaps it would be useful to watch a video. Chomsky spells very clearly what he actually thinks about supporting or not Biden and democratic centrists in this coming election.

I think that giving a fight is great, is what Bernie Sanders did. And when he lost, he repositioned his machine to support Biden. The Left wanted a better VP and lobbied for one. We got Kamala Harris. She is not the best, but could have been worse.

That fight is over. The discussion is ended and now the Dems have the full formula. If you actually want to defeat proto-fascism, it is time to shut up, swallow your disagreements, and line up behind the blues. Like Chomsky advises.

People who know his stuff ‘a little bit’ think  he is an aerie-fairy fantasist.

In reality he is the very most hard-headed realist among all of us.

Yea, I don't think pre-independence rules matter and I doubt the law is going to get clarified by November, but it will enable Republicans to argue that Kamala is more Indian than black and use that to temper enthusiasm for her in the turnout. Of course the US is 1% Indian now and they are also a powerful force in most states (not just as Biden says, that they run every single 7-11).  But my gut feeling is that blacks are not going to turn out for Kamala any better than they did for Hillary. And as much glowing publicity as Kamala version I, II and III was pushed by her hubby's media and the party central committee, she was a miserable flop with voters time after time. Whether they hate Trump more now than in 2016 is another matter, but I have my doubts there too. Ultimately, like 2016, this election is going to devolve into which of two detestable sides is detested the most and with the most enthusiasm to get out and vote against. Unfortunately, the Trump crowd still has a huge edge in enthusiasm against the other side, and that matters a lot in results. Biden should carry his home state of Pennsylvania so the election may well come down to Michigan and Michigan comes down to McComb County and I don't see Kamala having even slim support there.

Ultimately the crazy Wong decision from 1898 needs to be revisited. (Trump has threatened to by executive action). Hopefully we'll get a reasonable rule like other western countries have where a child of foreigners born here can get naturalization automatically at a certain age. The present birth tourism and anchor babies game is ridiculous and often deadly for the anchor babies.

Spain was a fascist country until Francisco Franco died. In the 1970s. I was in Spain during 1973.

Using the word "fascist" to describe the United States may be true in some aspects. But, not in comparison to Franco's Spain in 1973 where his national police were totally out of control in the Basque Country in Northern Spain.

I guess it depends on your community because I know people who would say their level of police harassment would  be considered state sponsored terrorism. Someone in this blog just stated how Harris tried to execute an innocent man. Well that innocent man had to be accused by law enforcement first.

Senator Sanders didn't get half the votes in the Democratic Party primaries, not even close.

Biden swept nearly every primary starting with South Carolina. He won primaries in States where he didn't campaign, including Massachusetts

Biden needs us to come out and vote enthusiastically for him like Obama to win. Progressives might not make up fully half of the party (young barely vote)  but they do make up a 1/3 at least. It would be like Trump ignoring Evangelicals. I personally refuse to vote for Biden he offers nothing to me and my generation. He and Harris have actually has been shitting on the poor, and minorities for 30 years and has gotten away with it because Democrats are supposed to be helping the lower class (BULLSHIT). I'm wasting my vote on Green Party and voting on more important ballot initiatives instead. DNC can eat a dick.

Anyone so fast and furious against Harris is likely OK with 4 more years of Trump.   Call me close minded.

If Harris was beholden to a foreign entity, that would be a horse of a different color.  :ahappy:

Biden was not my top choice but this is the direction we are going.  Biden/Harris 2020.

In comparison to Spain under Francisco Franco? He was smart enough to stay away from Fascist Italy and National Socialist Germany. But, Spain was a military dictatorship from the 1930s to 1970s when I drove throughout Spain, including Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga, Pamplona, Basque Country.

I lived in Philadelphia when Frank Rizzo was mayor.

You have carried over your  intemperate attacks from the other site concerning Kamala Harris and (just wait) Joe Biden.

Just the latest example.

It seems you want Donald Trump re-elected.

She tried to execute a (black) man she knew was innocent to help her political career, and did execute plenty of others she could have waived execution on. https://www.mercurynews.com/2019/08/01/democratic-debate-kamala-harris-tulsi-gabbard-joe-biden-fact-check/ . But when it came time to prosecute Republican Steve Mnuchin for illegally taking 1 million Californians' homes, she stepped in and refused to prosecute.  Her very respected black father has denounced her as a racist. When's the last time a president's father has denounced them as evil?

Politically, even though the corporate owners of the Democratic Party (and the US) decided 2 years ago that Kamala was to be the next president and even though  her hubby is the lawyer for CNN, Facebook, etc with all the gloating publicity that brings, voters showed in primary after primary, especially in black areas, that they wanted nothing to do with her. That's why they maneuvered Biden in as a placeholder candidate to get her in.

Yes, life in the United States is  just as Trump sees it - s mixture of conspiracies and petty, silly gossip.

Lindsey Graham believes Kamela Harris is born in the United States and eligible to be vice president and president.

However, Jared, the president's son in law doesn't know.

Ugh. Jared is in charge of more issues than anyone else, how can he not know?

It's also funny considering Republicans were running a Canadian for the ticket just 4 years ago, Ted Cruze.

I know it shouldn't matter but I guarantee Black America is going to feel some type a way about Kamala when they figure out her husband is a crooked rich White dude. I'm not saying it's going to turn Black folks into Trump voters but I don't see Black people showing up for the cop fucking some white man while throwing her own people in jail and is on video cavalierly laughing about it.

I've already seen some prominent Black YouTuber with large followings making the argument when she was running in the primary. Everyone forgets she got dusted in South Carolina, you know, the state she was supposed to do so good in because Black people were going to vote for her because she's Black.

Some people are thinking the two choices in most people minds are turd or snickers but it's more like choose your death, would you prefer to be drowned or be burned. Neither sounds appealing which is why Black voters that the DNC is counting on will stay home in large enough numbers in key states for Trump to squeak out a victory.

Almost certainly the strongest mind in his field (and all the fields that radiate therefrom) since Charles Sanders Peirce, the founding father of semiotics. And of much else.

(The best demolition of Derrida, whom I despise beyond almost every other intellectual pathology on this planet, was when somebody [can't recall who] called Derrida a 'weak misreading of Peirce.')

Do you really think Blacks are unaware of Senator  Harris' husband?

Come on!

It is 2020, not 1919.

Perhaps you are less interested in the presidential election than most people.

Perhaps you have not followed the line of direct relevancy thereto in my postings, to include the above-referenced.

You've got nothing substantial to link for us on Harris's husband right?

Kushner's dad served time in prison and the Trump Org can't get a bank loan in the States.  Look THAT up.

So why not forget about who's crooked? It's pretty clear.
