Third floor - trip to SE Asia in Jan/Feb 2026
Keithambrose replied to vinapu's topic in Gay Thailand
To be fair, though their onboard service is poor, at least in my view, I have always found that they cope well with cancellations etc. I think that is partly at least because of the litigation environment in the USA. Gulf carriers don't have to worry about being sued for millions! -
I agree, but I'm talking about ordinary, non ballistic, crises. If you follow the travel blogs, there are many complaints about Emirates and Qatar, who frequently loudly publicise their virtues, but, it seems, don't lift much of a finger when things go wrong. Their customer service reputation is at odds with their glitzy image.

As I said in another post, that sort of service is rare. The Middle Eastern Arlines, Emirates, Qatar, etc, have a particularly bad reputation in this area. Mind you KLM, Swiss, and Lufthansa, don't do that well either, -

In real time or Olddaddy time? -
I read that the front runner is one of the sons of Khamenei, so no change there.

Very quick indeed! As we know, Qatar Airlines are no good at dealing with crises, etc.

First Time exploring Massage/Bar in Bangkok

"we are talking whole hell of river as Phnom Penh in in confluence of Tonle Sap river and mighty Mekong." Not as mighty as it was, due to several dams upstream. This is causing serious issues with water levels in Tonle Sap. Less water, fewer fish, etc. -
I have often booked the backward facing Club seats with BA, the 'old' yin and yang seats that are still around, on the A380, for example. I choose the last seat in the cabin, as that means I can get up, go to the loo, etc, without having to clamber over the pax in the next seat. I like to have a window. I have never found any problem with that seat. I don’t understand the comment about acceleration, etc; for 95% of the time, you are in the cruise, at a constant speed.
-
Good advice. The Bangkok transit app is pretty useful too.
-
It can be difficult to get an outside seat at G's around 9pm. Earlier is usually easier. I think he has a booking system, but I've never used it. I usually do have a drink outside Banana bar. Boys there are quite chatty.

As a top, I always steer clear of someone who says they are a virgin. Just in case they are! I'm not keen on the 'oh, ow, stop, you're hurting', etc!

Or Hungary.

Nearly 3!

As Tom Lehrer said, after Kissinger shared the Nobel Peace prize, 'irony is dead'.
-
Also, don't forget that Indonesia, under Suharto, killed somewhere between 1m and 3m of their own people, no exact figure available, in an 'anti communist' purge, encouraged by the USA, and others.

The relevant Norman Lewis book, is "An Empire of the East". Well worth reading, in my view.

Just like the old Saturday children's films on Saturday morning! " will Flash be saved from the monster, etc". Watch next week. -
Somerset Maugham, in his short stories, wrote of the negative effect of missionaries in Malaya. See also Norman Lewis on the same topic in Indonesia.

Yes, true, but something basic like having the correct name, is not that difficult!
-
A good explanation! The Owner appears to be doing everything wrong. As previously mentioned, not even changing the sign outside is bizarre
-
Well, a Bar that can't even display the correct name outside, to me doesn't deserve to survive. The whole thing seemed very odd.
