  1. I sent my parents a link to my blog long ago, but when my mother opened it there was a OMG post and she didn't like it, so I think she never looked again. Maybe better so, than stumbling upon "gay activties of the month" post.
  2. Porn cinemas too dark, too dirty, customers too old. Details see my blog. Shopping mall cruising - I spend very little time in shopping malls, but when do I see some cute boys, but no cruising. Saunas - there are some that have plenty of customers in the 20 to 30 age range, my current favorites are Farose 2, Phoenix, Macho.
  3. Rob means take with force, which was not the case. But how do you say "became a victim of a theft" in one verb? I have been thiefed? I have been stolen from?
  4. I have him on gayromeo: OLEO-69 last online Feb 28th, 2016 (so probably abandoned that profile).
  5. Reasonable prices, good location (walking to Sunee or Boyztown or van from/to Bangkok from opposite Tuk Com), quite spacious rooms with everything I need.
  6. 1) What do you think where the disabled beggars come from? 2) What do you think where the old age beggars come from? 3) Think out of the gay bubble. As far as I know, unless you are stupid AND lazy, everyone can get a job in Thailand. And even if you are stupid AND lazy, you can move from one job to the next (until you are fired once your employer finds out you are stupid AND lazy). There is a network of family and friends to support those who are unable to work or have no job. I recently got numbers from a friend, 1/3 of his income goes to support his mother, similar to what we pay in social insurances in the west.
  7. I don't think you have good view from Lumpini park. Many other tall buildings in between. I want to get just a few 100 m away, but without anything obstructing the view (at least I would like to see it from bottom to top). Preferably at an elevated position so I don't have to look up in the sky. Beside Cloud47, Lebua would be a great spot.
  8. Ting Tong may not have a reception, but on ground level is bar, so you have to walk past customers and owner/manager and staff. Baan Dok Mai (now my favorite place to stay in Pattaya) reception is manned only during daytime. Customers get key for door to road, it's locked at night.
  9. I have taken some friends in the past, but now I wouldn't recommend it to the average tourist, only if you stay longer in Bangkok and speak some Thai and know your way around. Numbers were low last time I went two weeks ago, and without experience (and spotting some boys I know from before) I wouldn't even know who is available and who is general public.
  10. Spotted him once in Sunee, I think it was in 2015. Cute indeed. Knew of the porn before I saw him in real life.
  11. I don't have cat, but my parents have. I can barely take care of myself, and am away for traveling often. I once tried keeping a plant in my room and failed miserably. Chicken? Cock? I don't get it. Back to the op. Most of the Thai boys I know are stupid and/or lazy, no amount of schooling or money can help. To intercept accusations of racism, I take all blame and say this is the company I keep / the kind of people I attract, and not representative of the rest of the population. But every now and them I come across someone who is intelligent and determined and just had a poor start in life, and if I were in a position to help him (with either money or contacts) I would do so without expecting anything in return. I once invited a boy for sightseeing and gave him 1000 Baht (no sex involved) at the end of the day. We were far away from his place and he was new to Bangkok. So I took out my Bangkok bus map, put him at the bus stop, told him which line to take and what to tell the fare collector where he will want to get out. We say goodbye and 30 seconds later I look back and see him hailing a taxi. The story does not end here: two days later he called me and said he had run out of money, can he have another 1000? The story has a prelude: he had to flee from Pattaya to Bangkok because he owed money to people in Pattaya. I bet my left testicle he didn't pay a single Baht back out of the 1000 I gave him. He is now in Chiang Mai. I learned a lot from this little experiment that only cost me 1000 Baht. I praised the public bus system many times to Thai friends, usual answers are: too slow, too hot, too much walking, too lo-so, I have never used a bus before and I don't know how to use them, often accompanied by a look "are you crazy?".
  12. I wasn't threatened with a knife, but a boy who was drunk (or even drugs) hassled me for money, then tried to assault me, and I saw him picking up a stick I had enough and got into the next taxi. With hindsight, earlier that night I handed out 20 Baht notes to some of a group, he might have one of those who didn't get one. From which I learnt to be careful when dealing with groups, either treat or all the same or don't give anything to anyone, others might be envious. Saranrom is not cruising, it's prostitution. Number have been dwindling over the years, now it's barely worth going. Just 3 years ago after 10 pm it was only boys and customers (and the one or other person waiting for bus at bus station), now with gentrification there are shops open at night which draw general public. I am not aware of any cruising areas.
  13. Completely new to me (although I vaguely remember similar adverts for daytrips by gay saunas/bars/???). Here selected translation: 19-20 March 59 (=2559=2016), with a raft ride on Srinakarin Dam (Kanchanaburi province), 1990 Baht per person including food and drink.
  14. http://bangkok.coconuts.co/2016/08/23/mahanakhon-celebrates-completion-and-title-thailands-tallest-building-light-show A Thai friend told me today that they have been running tests for days, so I went tonight to find the best spot to watch (and because I might not be able to go tomorrow). Very poor view from skyarc (almost completely blocked by W), poor view from BTS public areas, probably good view from train platform. I found best public view spot from old cemetary in Silom Soi 9. Even better from Silom Plaza (where Super Rich money exchange is) Arena Massage (you have to walk through the massage place - I have been customer there before - and up 2 floors). When I asked boys outside for viewing spot, they let me in, but after about 5 minutes someone else came and told me I have to go down or out or have a massage. Side note: there is The Best Massage on ground level of the complex, has a lot of boys (they were out eating when I passed). No good public spot in Silom Plaza (nor anywhere else in that are, I estimate from walking there before). Cloud47 would be a good view point (at least those parts that point to that direction). A friend was on Baiyok 2 yesterday and saw it from there.
  15. In that case you can keep him, I'm not interested any more.
  16. I reported my gay and sightseeing activities in Cambodia here: http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/search/label/Cambodia (Jul 2014, Jan 2016, Aug 2016 will be published soon) Advice on Angkor Wat: the food there is grossly overpriced and my meal was of poor quality (my friend complained as well), bring your own lunch.
  17. That's a poor start. Add the issues about his and your visa, and just giving him money for the trip (to go alone) seems the best solution to me.
  18. Traveling (and time to prepare before and process data afterwards), participating in forums and writing a blog, walking around in Bangkok (everything under 5 km is walking distance for me) and ogling at cute boys, meeting friends, going to saunas, reading on the internet and on paper.
  19. The op has my full support. I would have done the same, except for giving less taxi money (I always ask where the boy is now, so I can estimate how much return trip by taxi is). Possible solutions: check pictures closely in advance (if boy doesn't have several clear pictures, ask for recent clear picture; if pictures don't match - abort), meet in a public place, do a video chat. Video chat saved me a disappointment in April: http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2016/05/dating-thai-boys-39-youre-not-slim.html

    Gay forums

Three active forums, of which this is currently the busiest. Everyone who has been around for a while will notice that the same subjects are discussed over and over again (favorites are drink prices, tips for boys and tips for service staff). You have to distinguish between active members and total member number. There can be thousands of registered members, many of them not participating in discussion, maybe not even reading any more. (And those who participate, you have to rate the quality of their participation.)
  21. Most places I eat at are non-tipping anyway. Upset? Is lack of tip something to be upset about? As far as I know, Thailand is a non-tipping culture and tipping has been brought by tourists, and is restricted to tourist areas. I consider tipping a social evil that starts a spiral of lowering wages and compensate by tips, leading to annoying behavior of staff and absurdities like employing people to hand customers a towel in the toilet in Tam Nam Kon Isan disco in Pattaya.
  22. I was in X-Boys last weekend (drink price 150 Baht for my orange juice, that's the first time drink prices come down, I remember paying 240 (?) in their previous location about two years ago), but didn't see any boy who matches. Sounds good! What is his profile on gayromeo. Even better a review by someone who has personal experience?
  23. There is a lot to do and to see in and around Pattaya, I made a list: http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2014/03/daytime-activities-in-pattaya.html However after coming to Pattaya for years, I have been to most of them. Some are worth going again after a few years. Daytime highlight of my next Pattaya trip will probably be visiting all second hand bookshops and making a comprehensive list.
  24. I dislike the idea of tipping and would prefer a system like in Japan (which I know only from internet: good service and no tipping). In the past I was inconsistent in Thailand, sometimes tip, sometimes don't tip, but now changed to this to not tipping.
  25. But how do you initiate activities? I want to get my hands on the boy's skin, so when suitable during the massage, I will touch him (shorts and sleeveless shirts are good, these traditional costumes not because there can be many layers of cloth and I don't know where to slip my hand in), then he might move indicating he doesn't like this, or ask if I want a hand job, or ask how much I will tip, all of which disturbs the flow, and anyway I would like a slow change from standard massage to erotic.
