We're all dying.... just at different times, a friend of mine just died, kind of suddenly...started having problems recently, throat cancer, progressed rapidly and died last night....57 yrs old.

According to the Captain, Arthur has now said the bar will reopen on the 15th of January. Although, I should point-out that Captain was almost rolling his eyes when he said that. 

The original reopening date was the 26th of December; that got pushed to New Year's Day; then it got pushed to the 10th of January; and now it has been pushed to Jan 15th. 

The immediate assumption was that the supposed plan to reopen was just a face-saving measure, but I doubt that. As I shared in those pictures previously (and my friend shared video of the interior fit-out as well), they have done a lot of work on the interior of the building, which obviously cost money; not to mention the cost of actually renting the venue. I doubt they would have done all that if they were simply claiming that they intended to reopen as a face saving measure. After all, they weren't publicising it.  

My guess - and it is only a guess - is that they may be having difficulty recruiting staff. It is quite possible that the Atlas staff who moved to/moved back to Tawan are quite happy there now. After all, Tawan now has about 30 guys and with no competition from Atlas, is probably getting decent customer numbers. Not to mention that the staff moved there just in time for the Christmas/New Year/ White Party boom in visitors. The less experienced staff might well think that those are the kinds of numbers that Tawan regularly attracts and that it is the better option. 

Who knows though? As I said in my original post on the subject "I would not hold my breath for the new venue to open on schedule. Indeed, let's see if it actually come to pass."

I shall update as I hear back.

Several people recommended chicken with cashew nuts being best at Sarica restaurant on Suriwong beside Wall tower soi so yesterday I decided to see if that is capitalistic propaganda ot truth. 

Happy to report that in my not so humble opionon, indeed their offering is the best in the Bangkok I tried so far since fall of Roman Empire. Generous  serving too and very good value a 200.

In case  of any doubts, in about 1 hour I will repeat experience  just to make sure yesterday was not one time peak

What we need is a bar/restaurant that offers "no hands chicken with cashew nuts".

I wonder how many here know what a "no hands" restaurant is? Idon't know if they still exist, but about 20 - 30 years ago, it was all the rage in Thailand and Vietnam, though only in the hetero market. It's a restaurant, dimly lit of course, in which the customer does not use his hands to eat (nor even hold any utensils). A half naked waitress could sit beside him, sometimes two half-naked waitresses, one on each side, feeding him mouthful and mouthful of whatever food he's ordered. Meanwhile, the customer's hands are free to caress the waitress(es). Alternatively, one waitress on one side does the feeding, while the waitress on the other side leans over, unzips the customer and tastes his ice-cream popsicle.

How do I know this: First-hand experience. I was never more terrified!

What we need is a gay bar where lovely lads dressed a la Adam feed us Chicken with cashew nuts, while our un-needed hands go exploring as we chew and swallow. For a premium price, get two boys, one on each side.
