good question.  I have daily withdrawal limit set up by myself with my bank so not interested in higher amounts at current exchange rates

This is what happened to me in Fresh Boy Bangkok last year: I was sitting alone inside the bar with a drink. A Viet boy walked by and saw me. Since he knew me, he stopped to have a little chitchat. A few minutes later, Mamasan (the big one) called out to him and said something in Thai. She looked kinda annoyed. The boy then told me in Vietnamese "We are not allowed to talk to customers like that without a drink" and then left.

In Pattaya, I usually sit with a boy for about an hour. My usual rule is: one drink (cost 150B) and 300B tips. Boy can order a second drink and his tip reduced to 150B  He can also order 3 drinks within an hour and no tips given in that case. Boys always went with the first option: one drink and 300B tips.

Good luck sitting with a boy for one hour in Bangkok and only one drink! Mamasan will chase them up on stage for rotation after 30 minutes or even less!
