Flipping through various TV channels last night, three questions seemed to be on every pundits' lips. The first was no longer, “What if Greece abandons the Euro?” but “When?” The second: “How will that affect Eurozone?” The third: “What Will be the Effect on the World Currency system?” Since the austerity plan worked out with the EU has as little chance of getting the country back on its feet as Achilles famed immunity to death in battle, ditching the Euro in favour of a return to the drachma seems the solution many now favour. That, however, takes the world right into uncharted waters. The next weeks will be crucial, as analysts at Merryl Lynch said on CNN last night…

Queen Elizabeth celebrates her Diamond Jubilee today. She was made the latest monarch on Feb 6, 1952 when her father King George VI died. According to this article there will be all kinds of celebration through out 2012. Only Queen Victoria has served the monarch 63 years. Queen Elizabeth is now the second longest serving monarch in british history. http://english.alarabiya.net/articles/2012/02/06/192906.html

So I watched MAD MEN tonight and there were a LOT of developments and we still have 2 episodes left before the season finale. However I was thinking and I said to myself, "They could have really put this as the season finale as it left some threads up in the air and left some very important questions for the future." But we have 2 more episodes to go...I dunno but I think that MAD MEN was premature and they already shot their load for the season and now we have 2 more episodes to go through? Seems odd to me... gcursor

You can read the article http://news.yahoo.com/lady-gaga-cancels-indonesian-show-threats-091502253.html Do you think Gaga did the right thing in cancelling?

Not sure if anyone here watches this summer replacement. I am addicted to this show ... anyway the season premier was Thursday. You can watch it at ABC.com or most likely Hulu as well. If you haven't watched the show try to watch a few episodes from the prior two seasons to give you an idea of whats going on. Well worth it as far as I'm concerned.

As you might imagine, news in the Los Angeles area about TV renewals and cancellations is BIG NEWS because they employ so many people locally. And there was an abundance of news yesterday regarding cancellations and pickups for the next season. Cancelled shows: GCB (thankfully - poorly written show) Harry's Law (I will miss seeing Kathy Bates every week) Ringer (Sarah Michelle Gellar couldn't bring the audience) The River The Secret Circle Are you There, Chelsea? BFF Bent Awake Man UP Missing Pan Am Work It A Gifted Man How To Be A Gentleman Alcatraz The Finder House Desperate Housewives Renewed shows: Glee Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Bo…

This preview looks pretty good. It takes place in 1960 just as Las Vegas was becoming huge and how it got that way. The cast looks pretty good too. Check out this preview. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuHRnqMkwXY

When two guys have a boys night in, it can unexpectedly turn into a gay porn set. Nobody knows how it happens, it just does. And the results are spectacularly funny (if slightly NSFW).

I purchased a phone on eBay a few days ago and sold mine. Well I shipped mine off before checking the phone I bought. Turns out the one I bought has a dead battery Being a holiday weekend its gonna suck without a phone.

I have loved her from the start. This is my all time favorite Stevie Nicks song and her performance is such a classic Stevie Nicks moment (fans of hers will know what I mean). Happy "64th" Birthday Stevie !! We wish you many many more.

It seems like "Forever" to November. . . (that's THEIR tagline, not mine)

For all of you who say you never have enough time, I'm reminding you that there are only 213 more SHOPPING DAYS until Christmas! Plan accordingly!

So OK, the title is a bit misleading (in the context of MER), but this New Yorker article intoduced me to a different way of looking at human evolution, in particular the development (maybe) of a genetic basis for our 'insane' behavior patterns. It doesn't hurt that the guy who pioneered this field apparently plays for our team. http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2011/08/15/110815fa_fact_kolbert?currentPage=all

OK, so the most notorious missing child case in history has apparently been solved. A now 51 yo Pedro Hernandez confessed to killing Etan when he was working as a stock boy at age 18, down the street from where Etan lived. Its curious this revelation comes to light after the recent uproar about another suspect, prompting them to dig up a basement looking for clues, but finding nothing and releasing the suspect. Details of the case have not been released, but do we believe Pedro is the killer or just someone craving media attention ? He is now on suicide watch, and family members admit he hadconfessed to them over the years that "he did something terrible"....(but they…

Kristen Wiig "graduated" from Saturday Night Live this weekend, making it official she won't be returning. The announcement at the end of the show was emotional, with the cast and Mick Jagger dancing with Wiig and singing "Ruby Tuesday." While the camera focused on the current cast, I spotted everyone from Chris Kattan to Steve Martin on the stage.
