Participating in AIDS/LifeCycle in June 2008 was really something special for me: just to feel part of such a strong, diverse and incredible community of people for 7 days, people trying to make a tangible difference in the fight against HIV/AIDS by biking 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles. It was truly a life-changing event. I trained hard, preparing myself physically and mentally for several months, but still experienced an emotional roller coaster. Even with that, I'm eager to participate again, to do what I can to try to make a difference. Last year's event had over 2300 riders and raised a record of 11,6 million dollars. HIV and AIDS are definitely not ov…

So, what do we need to add? How can we make the site better for you? What features would you like to see? We would greatly appreciate any input possible. Thanks.

  9. By David Morgan WASHINGTON, Oct 12 (Reuters) - Billionaire investor George Soros predicted on Sunday that the financial crisis would mean the end of a U.S.-led market system that has dominated the global economy with debt and deregulation since the 1980s. "Globalization, America as the center of the globalized financial markets, was sucking up the savings of the world," Soros said in a CNN interview. "This is now over. The game is out. It does mean a very serious adjustment for America," added Soros, a staunch backer of the Democratic Party. As world leaders rushed to help banks weather the crisis that has sent stocks into steep decline, Soros blamed the turmoil on th…

What are we doing and how do we get out of this mess? It seems like the debt we rack up for the next generation is NEVER ending. For some, that is OK. But, I have nieces and nephews I adore and don't want to see them burdened for their entire life. Will this election stop this spiraling? What will? From BBC : The US government's debts have ballooned so badly the National Debt Clock in New York has run out of digits to record the spiralling figure. The digital counter marks the national debt level, but when that passed the $10 trillion point last month, the sign could not display the full amount. The board was erected to highlight the $2.7 trillion level of debt i…

  15. Well, having been an IPhone user since the beginning, I love it. I love the device and the new push e-mail is a direct "fuck you" to RIM. So, it was no surprise that this device was coming. Here is the CNet article: We all knew it was approaching, but brace yourself, the Storm has made landfall. Tuesday night, Research In Motion and Verizon Wireless officially introduced the first touch-screen BlackBerry to the world: the RIM BlackBerry Storm. Also known by its code name, BlackBerry Thunder, the Storm features a touch-sensitive display that's unlike that on any other touch-screen smartphone available today, thanks to RIM's own twist (more on this below). There are p…

The one in NYC is so much more fun than the one in LA!Why?Because the promoters hold it in a private venue(Hotel Ballroom)versus a municiple facility(The LA convention center)I will not bother going to the LA event again till the promoters wise up and take this out of the LA Convention Center. http://www.gayeroticexpo.com/ So go support our boys!

Supreme Court openings are all but guaranteed, and that's just the start: 44 trial and appellate federal judicial vacancies already await filling. There will be more. Consider this: President Bush has placed 316 judges on the bench during his two terms. One out of three federal judges now owes a lifetime-tenured job to the current president. Whoever replaces Bush will be likewise recasting courthouses, top to bottom. "The proper role of the judiciar…

  22. Pape Mbaye gets a lot of attention. Even in jaded New York, people watch the way he walks (his style defines the word sashay) and scrutinize his outfits, which on a recent afternoon featured white, low-slung capris, a black purse, eyeliner and diamond-studded jewelry. And he likes it. “I’m fabulous,â€ he said. “I feel good.â€ Mr. Mbaye, 24, is an entertainer from Dakar, Senegal, known there for his dancing, singing and storytelling. But while his flamboyance may be celebrated in New York, he attracted the wrong kind of attention in West Africa this year, and it nearly cost him his life. In February, a Senegalese magazine published photographs of what was repor…

I love Barney Frank. As I've said here before. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/03/b...f_n_131569.html Some outtakes: O'REILLY: You're a coward. You blame everybody else. You're a coward. FRANK: Bill, here's the problem with going on your show. You start ranting. And the only way to respond is almost to look as boorish as you. ... O'REILLY: You can come in and make every excuse in the world. FRANK: I'm not making excuses. O'REILLY: .blame everybody else in the world and then call me boorish. FRANK: I'm not going to be bullied by your ranting. You can rant all you want, you're not going to shut me up! The problem was that we passed in 1994, in fact. O'REILLY…

It appears that priapism can be treated by sticking a needle into the affected dick and injecting anti-inflammatories or, in advanced cases, by sticking a really big needle in and drawing out the blood. Learned it all from True Blood. That show is endearing itself to me in spite of myself.

For those that remember the good old days and want to take a trip back... http://www.calamusbooks.com/newsletters/8/8/ SLAVA MOGUTIN's new book is NYC GO-GO. Mogutin was born in Siberia. A queer activist in the late years of the now-defunct Soviet Union, SM was tossed out of the workers' former paradise. He was granted political asylum in the USA. His career is distinctive. His poetry and his photography have brought him great renown. NYC GO-GO is his collection of photos from the downtown scene in New York, featuring young men performing in the erotic industry, stripping, dancing and behaving with all too much irrational exuberance. This is perfect material for Mogut…
