The country is in real turmoil. It is a mad house in Bangkok and I am sure that most of you have see the news reports about the death and the protests becoming violent. As I am currently in the country, I can say that I have seen nothing in my little city. But, I am 2 hours from Bangkok and that is the epicenter of the crisis. The gogo bars have still not closed and it is unlikely to have a great effect on things here. So, for those of you still planning on a visit, no better time than the present!

According to Rex Reed, it's not all that sub. He clearly lusts for Viggo Mortensen (me too), and just as clearly would give a lot to see some serious Mortensen/Harris grabass (me too). The review is fun to read. http://www.observer.com/2008/arts-culture/...two-saddle-bums

George Takei and his longtime partner, Brad Altman, have agreed to live long and prosper together. Takei, 71, and Altman, 54, were married Sunday in a multicultural ceremony at the Japanese American National Museum that featured a Buddhist priest, Native American wedding bands, a Japanese Koto harp and a bagpipe procession. The couple, both clad in white dinner jackets with black pants, made a grand entrance to the tune of “One Singular Sensation†from the Broadway musical “A Chorus Line.†They stepped into a circle of yellow roses and lilies, where they shared a traditional Japanese tea ceremony and were wed by a Buddhist priest. http://www.365gay.com/features/g…

  6. http://wonkette.com/401018/anti-gay-alabam...aught-being-gay This may come as a shock, but a prominent anti-homosexual Republican attorney general has apparently been caught having homosexual sex intercourse with his homosexual gay male assistant. Bonus: The dude’s wife caught him, in their bed. This is the rumor that the AG’s office has officially denied, so now of course everybody is spilling the sordid details. AG in question is Troy King, who, of course, is only interested in outlawing homosexuality and sex toys. His gay lover is either a college “buddy,” or a very young youngster and “Homecoming King” from Troy University. What are the odds of a dude named …

Each state in the USA has different Age of Consent laws. The world has many as well. In Brazil that age is 18 and is strictly enforced. When I was with a friend there recently, we were cruising through the park and he pointed out some guys that were 17 and said that no one will go with them as it is too dangerous even for someone close to their age. In Thailand, the Age of Consent is 15 BUT, for all practical purposes it is 18. Those 15-18 can have sex legally if there is no money involved but if it is a foreigner involved, it is assumed that money or favors is involved. Therefore, best to stay above the 18 rule. Spain was the surprising place at 13. Most coun…

“John McCain’s appointment of the next justice could be the most significant appointment in half a century,†said David Cole, a law professor at Georgetown University, noting that the trend has been toward appointing younger justices who could be on the court for 30 or 40 years. “We would have a solid far-right conservative block for the next several decades. That cannot be undone by a subsequent election if people decide that the court is far to the right of them. There’s nothing we can do as citizens.†Already, as Geoffrey Stone, a University of Chicago law professor, has observed, “The current makeup of the Supreme Court renders it the most conservative gr…

Love the new Prison Break and like the addition of a new character who is leading the group. I have been in love with the main character since the beginning and to watch him with the tattoo removal was hard. I was hard at least and love this show!

News that McCain has taken over the lead in the popular vote has been covered a great deal. From what I have read, it seems that the state to state breakdown of the states gives the electoral college vote to Obama if the vote were today. This is a very interested election and I think it will determine the course of things for this country for years to come. It is 55 days and counting!

03:08 PM CDT on Thursday, September 11, 2008 Bloomberg News HIV infections in the U.S. are highest among gay black men under age 30, an analysis of government data found. More than half of 56,300 new HIV infections in 2006 were in men who have sex with men, and the largest number of any demographic group -- 12 percent of the total cases -- were in young, homosexual black men, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in a report released today. The analysis is a second look at long-awaited research published last month showing the AIDS virus is spreading about 40 percent faster in the U.S. than the government had estimated for at least seven years. This is probably old news but I only now chanced upon it. Banner ad on 365gay.com. HYATT SPECIAL OFFERS GLBT Fall Three for Free http://www.hyatt.com/hyatt/specials/offers...glbt_mtv_728x90 This made me wonder whether Marriott would do anything similar. Seems it has "partnered with the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce to include NGLCC-certified, LGBT-owned vendors in its supplier diversity program" (http://www.nglcc.org/BIZ/supplierdiversity/marriott). But I find no explicit GLBT guest offers from it. BUT a lot of entries on local sites that list "gay-friendly" lodgings in the area. Discreetly having it both ways?

There may be some who haven't heard of this incident. For them it should put to rest any lingering doubts about what the Obamas have to put up with every day from the most subhuman sources. He also champions basing laws on the Ten Commandments, but, being simpleminded, couldn't recite even one of them when asked to by Stephen Colbert. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington...estmorelan.html

I use both Skype and Vonage but I often get better reception when in hotels with Skype for some reason. I prefer the Vonage phone and adapter as opposed to my headset on the computer but it is better than nothing. Vonage seems to be more expensive. Anyone have a preference or another suggestion?
