  1. Just be careful as the last time I legitimately tried to get on the bus ( my airline has screwed up and my ticket was left at the wrong counter or something and the staff member gave me a letter explaining this and telling me to go to Swampy from DMK to collect my new ticket - or something like that) and the guy operating the queue wouldn't let me on without a flight ticket clearly showing a departure from the other airport. I explained that that's exactly why I was going to the other airport to get it and he pointed to the sign saying only people with a  ticket allowed on the bus, I was running late and explained again ( a little louder - I know fatal mistake) and after that I had ZERO chance of budging him ( although I had been VERY nice up until that point).  So, don't assume you CAN get the free airport transfer bus perhaps without said flying on from the other airport ticket !?

  2. And then watch in disgust as said boys eat huge amounts of said cake and don't put on as much as a tenth of an kilo, whereas you gingerly flick some of the cream off the top of the cake onto your finger just to be polite and to be seen to pass yourself in eating the cake ( that you bought yourself) and touch it to your tongue just to taste and instantly put on 3 kilos, which then takes you 4 months to get off again again...... damn those beautiful young slim Thai boys and their cake eating and putting on no weight skills !   :-)

You could also go and make yourself a money sash ( as a JOKE) and stick a few 100's on it to start yourself off and then hit the bars, be interesting to see just how much you would make by the end of the night - although you know what I'm guessing that a lot of the boys just might put the odd 20 on there for you ! ( mind you you DO know of course that any monies donated to your birthday fund will of course cost you at least 50 times that by the time the end of the night comes ! :-)

PS A very Happy Upcoming Birthday !!! :))

  3. "It terms of pulling there... its always the same... when you are in company its really very cruisy and loads of guys are giving you the eye... When you are looking for company... they are nowhere to be seen!"

Ha by god isn't THAT the case !!  The number of nights that rule has applied itself is soul destroying there - only then to get home at 5am for Grindr to kick into action and even though you SWEAR you're going to definitely go to SLEEP to get some rest this time you still strangely find yourself with someone on the way other whilst thinking "WTF, what just happened, what have I done, I'm knackered" but thankfully after a shower somehow thankfully seem to just about manage.

  4. Although just be aware that Skyscanner whilst great of course doesn't always show all of the internal carriers options in Thailand, I'm thinking the likes of Nok air and so on and a few others I've come across over the years, mind you some of them you'd have to pay ME to fly with them their safety and punctuality was that bad.

  5. That has happened to you? Oops!

Get a travel wallet. Mine has strong noisey velcro and a chain to my trousers. Saved me a couple times now

Well unless I'd be connecting it to a Prince Albert I'm not quite sure how that would help, but I guess the velcro would be a start.  I think the best option is of course have "just enough" and not much more in your wallet to start with when entering such places usually.

  6. I'd be happy for a mirror that would just to enable me to watch my trousers most times to ensure that it wasn't one hand rubbing me and the other hand rubbing a few thousand baht out of it, either by him or another staff member sneaking in and joining us without my knowledge even.

  7. What a random selection of items, but I guess it works or they wouldn't be bothering to do it, I thought the one with the bottle of shampoo or whatever was pushing things just a little for "do you recognise this item from someones house" mind ! :-)  I guess we know now why the infamous Beachlover was so keen to be sure to leave no items on view in his (fake) fancy hotel room pics always :)

  8. "Will I buy a separate insurance in future when I travel? No, unless it is mandated by the host country"

If I understand the Governments suggestion correctly what they actually mean is that they'd like all travellers entering Thailand to be in possession of suitable travel insurance ( pre-purchased in their own country is fine) or yes purchased at the point of arrival and actually I think that's fair enough to ask for that in the bigger scheme of things these days with medical costs being what they are.

  9. Only the wealthy can afford to travel without it.

Annual policies are a good deal and very often credit cards actually provide it for free.

On that note has anyone ever had reason to call upon said "free" credit card company provided insurance I wonder ??  I know a few people who tell me they have it and "that's enough"whereas personally I prefer to pay the ( very little) extra to know I have the fully paid for gold level policy in case "shit happens" - so either I'm being a mug and paying for something I could have free ( which I doubt as on checking I always see the cover at a fairly minimal or less) OR I'm right an god forbid anyone ACTUALLY ever needs to call on said cover for hospital treatment etc ?

Anyone anyone have any real world experience of using same perhaps ?

  10. If not used to their mobile site I can see why you'd say that as it is quite a shift from the old site ( which is still available should you prefer it I think) but like all things once you do get used to it it's actually not to bad and in fact if using both the mobile and the desktop site together it is quite handy just to think of everything in the one way and using the same icons etc.

  11. That's very sad for the competitors who made the effort and ran up the expense to attend and also makes gay's in general look bad.

I was then wonder "oh dear, whatever will those 2000+ attendees do to pass their time" and then I read a Facebook post by one of the groups arranging alternative activities for them which read "The Hotel Gaythering in South Beach says that OutGames participants will get complimentary drinks, sauna access and shuttles to Haulover Nude Beach every day" So, that's that all sorted then I guess for the 2 weeks !!  :)

  12. Maybe wise that anyone based in Thailand ( or intending to visit even) does not even reply to this thread as based on the topic at hand the slightest innocent comment on "that" particular topic can could lead to charges if it suits those who must be obeyed - such as the woman who simply commented "ok" to a post on Facebook about "that' topic that was charged ( and imprisoned ?) shortly after I believe, likewise the powers that be have indicated that they would also consider blocking passports of foreigners who caused offence to ensure that they too couldn't visit Thailand - or worse they'd maybe let them in and THEN arrest and prosecute them.  So perhaps just the less said the better :(

  13. Before my last trip I had my hair cut rather short.  "Oh, you look like young!" was a common compliment.

Hmmm and did they also tell you that you looked like a "handsome man" too perhaps ?    Here, let me send you a large sack full of salt so that you take a pinch or two of that when you next hear such lines !   Really, a man of you worldly experience, you REALLY should know better than to listen to such nonsense ! :-)

  14. Come on guys nobody wants to seen you in jeans.

Hmm I was about to say `'Hey come that's so ageist" but then stopped to think about it and realised that you're totally right !! Older people in jeans does just look "wrong" sometimes - which then gave me a moment of panic in realising that I'm pushing on 50 ( 48 actually) and still wear jeans on a regular basis and so just had a "moment of self awareness" thinking "shit, is it time I stopped wearing jeans !" ( no!) but then thought, so, if not now, so at what age IS the age, when knows 'it's time" !?

So is it a gradual thing and one just realises that "Hmmm this just doesn't quite feel right now" or are there perhaps some jeans fairies who come into your room on the eve of your 60th birthday and instantly remove all your jeans whether you like it or not ! ?

So, what age IS the age - OR ARE perhaps Ryan ( and I ) both wrong and one can and should wear just whatever the hell the wearer wants for just as long as they want ?    You see, THESE are the important questions in life that need urgent answers - never mind whats the meaning life and is there a God, no, this and "how much to you tip a massage boy" are all we need answers too as once you've cracked that in life then what else left is there left that you REALLY need to know anyway !?   :)   (hmmm that sounds like the start of another great thread all in itself even !)

  15. GWNinUS's recommendations above are spot on and are exactly my view on the place too. Follow his tips and you'll not go too far wrong.

But as he's also mentioned there ARE several "no go" places now in the Ph's so DO check with your own Government advisory websites etc re then issuing any "do not travel" notices - which would of course automatically wipe out ANY insurance cover you would have either for that portion of your trip, or if the insurance company feel like it ( once and after you've made a claim of course ) for your ENTIRE trip, even when outside the Philippines !  So take care re that point.   Not to mention that it's actually probably NOT that safe to be visiting those areas and shit IS happening there so definitely best to avoid perhaps.

Even when there I felt a distinct uneasiness from my Ph hosts in certain areas as they too understood that really it probably wasn't a good idea for me to be hanging around in certain ( quite large areas) for too long. So do check and know what's what and where NOT to spend too much if any time - but "generally speaking" I would agree that Cebu and Davao cities are generally safe - but travelling on outside of those areas, best to follow advice perhaps for now.

    Enjoy.

  16. Ryanasia - firstly my apologies as it appears I for some reason got you confused with the poster " ask a money boy anything" ( or something like that) -  ha why, I have NO idea, but that's who I was thinking about and he ( claimed to be in his 30's etc I think hence why I was querying "his" annoyance at the whole outing thing.  But as that's NOT you and it seems you haven't made porn ( I presume anyway and not that there would be anything wrong with that in my book anyway) and as I see you're a bit older then I totally get your point now as to how you're pissed having to jump through hoops you didn't feel you had to before. I get that now - again apologies re that.

Although ( and not to start that ball rolling again :-) ) but I'm still genuinely scratching my head as are you saying that the authorities wouldn't accept your normal civil partnership / gay marriage as "fact" without some pics showing the full works in progress even though you had the correct paperwork etc-  surely not !?  And I'm not doubting your work there by the way, more just as amazed / pissed off as you are if that is the case ?

  17. Probably bought by my mother. Most of my current underwear was bought by my mother. My mother loves buying clothes for me, it makes her happy so I go along. The underwear I wear is merely functional. I always wear underwear, I'm wary of people who don't wear underwear. I think something is not right with them.

Im guessing a lot of Thai boys think the same when seeing you in your mothers underwear for the first time ! :)

  18. After reading your post I'm still not sure what your complaint is ?  You wanted to get married, you can now get married. You wanted acceptance, people accept you. And the problem is ??    And this from a guy who made porn apparently and so I assume couldn't give a shit what anyone thinks of them anyway  - so why the need or desire to stay in the closet in the first place ?  Surely  just be out ( as I presume you are anyway), be married and be happy ( or if you've married the wrong guy be grumpy, but hey that's the same deal as the straights have had for years so we wanted equality  - it seems you've got it.   Smile and get on with life now perhaps an stop giving a shit about others and what they think.
