I understand that everybody enjoys getting a bargain but somehow I don't quite equate getting a massage with going to Walmart. Paying a guy 1k to 1.5k to toil over your body for 60-90 minutes and then pleasuring you with a happy ending doesn't seem outrageous.

I think there are a few points of clarification here.
You are most likely one of his many female customers. That is fine with me too.

That’s my philosophy too. I visually admire them for their hard earned physiques and slickness of routines (even the non-dancers have obviously put in weeks of practice). I don't know about Vietnam, but in Thailand it is the Thai authorities. Without that, no funeral is possible. The body stays in the morgue.
Unless you have made a Thai will nominating an executor with the specific power to make funeral arrangements (as I have, with my boyfriend as executor)
It's as much for the benefit of my next of kin in England as for any other reason. Without it, they would have the task of negotiating Thai bureaucracy and arranging a funeral from several  thousand miles away.
