    Airbnb in Colombia: I faced no issues with visitors in the apartments (Airbnb, Booking[dot]com, etc) but I mostly ask in advance if visitors are Ok. Only in the Vista-art building on Ave Caracas in Chapinero in bgta last month the security staff at the reception didn’t allow me to bring a visitor (late afternoon) despite the Airbnb host allowing it. Really not an issue as then we went to his room nearby and I only stayed there 2 nights. (The next day a different woman in the reception allowed my to bring a different guy after calling the Airbnb host; go figure 🤔). Most buildings with staffed receptions or security will check ID though (minors are strictly prohibited and it is enforced in my experience) 

    If no visitors are allowed it will be stated in the Airbnb listing (sometimes also in the reviews)

    Based on my visit at Club 55 on a Saturday afternoon last month and info from the staff there, the most busy days are Sunday afternoons (around 5-7 PM) followed by Saturday afternoon (5-8 PM)

    On the Saturday afternoon I'm talking about there was a constant flow of men coming to and leaving the sauna (the staff told me that 150-200 guests during a Sunday afternoon/evening is normal) but overall it was quite busy. A lot action (groping and sucking) in the wet and dry saunas and cruising on the first floor where the cabins are (and 2 large screens with gay porn). I was a bit surprised by the high number of young and fit guys there (some had gym fit bodies and were very attractive) but as most often in saunas (not restricted to saunas in Colombia) your chance of groping or sucking a young fit guy or having sex in a cabin with a young muscle guy or gym rat will diminish with your age and if being out of shape. To put it out loud, the young attractive guys at Club 55 or any Colombian sauna are not there to have sex with mature overweight foreigners but will be looking for guys of similar kind. There is also a social aspect to it as many guys will be coming in groups of 2-4 to relax, spend time in the jacuzzi, chatting, to smoke weed, have a beer/drink etc before or after action in the wet or dry saunas or upstairs. But this should not discourage you from visiting as nevertheless it is possible to have a good and enjoyable time there. Entrance fee is 25 mil.

    I didn't see any guys soliciting massage (and more) during my time in Club 55 but admittedly I didn't inquire about this with the staff there. 2 attractive masseurs were available at Phisicus 21 in Cali.

    I stand corrected. BBVA now charges ATM fee (for using VISA card). 18 mil COP to withdraw 300 mil. Insane/no thanks...

    Luckily, Davivienda doesn't charge ATM fee (again, I used my European based VISA card) and you get much as 2 million COP (maybe even more; I didn't try). Just decline the suggested conversion to your currency on the ATM screen and let VISA/your bank do the conversion from COP to your currency.

    There will be plenty of "love hotels" around for that. You rent a room for 2-3 hours for around 20 mil.

    Admittedly, no first hand experience in Bgta, but in Cali and Medellin there are several; the cheapest I know is 16 mil for 2 hours in Medellin centro; a bit more upscale room you pay 22-25 mil (for 3 hours maximum) also in Medeliin centro. You rentboy will know for sure where to go to; just ask him to get an "ocasional habitacion".

    For rent boys you could use Grindr (many will openly advertise as scort, or you simply ask if you suspect that the guy is a rent boy) or the dedicated websites, e.g. co.mileroticos.com. 

    You will also find rent boys at gogo bars like Gigolo Erotic House or Garage. If you fancy a guy ask for his phone No. and continue the conv. in Whatsapp the following day. 95% chance that they will be prepared to meet you.

    As for (gay) guide in Bgta I suggest Phillipe (Instagram is Colombianman_89)

    I think the risk of the host cancelling on you is very small. Any Superhost cancelling will loose the Superhost status (for a while) and if a host has cancelled on other guest(s) before it will show in the reviews; i.e. hosts would be reluctant to cancel.

    No need for a backup hotel plan only based on the risk of your host cancelling. That would be overthinking it IMO.

    Many thanks for the detailed report. I'm impressed by the number of non-sauna things/venues you did as a first timer and (presumably) without speaking Portuguese. 

    Just for the records about sauna going rates: Unless it has dramatically changes since my visit 1 year ago, the going rate is 150 for a session, around 30min or so (not including gozar). 200 if you want the GP to cum. My experience was that in Rio most guys would offer these rates straight away/no negotiation needed whereas in (new) Lagoa many would aim a bit high with their initial offer (maybe because they see that you are new to the venue) but open to settle on a lower price if you make a counter offer. 

    To give a few coins or a small note (but certainly not a 50 note) to the towel guys is a nice gesture. However, the guy at 202 was a bit too pushy for my liking.
