  1. Too young and twinky for my taste @RockHardNYC but thanks for posting earlier about Reno Gold and Alex Lederman - two muscleboys that I find attractive.
  2. Yes, it is. I’m old and I enjoy socializing with young men.
  3. You must go @Riobard. Sondra Radvanovsky is a compelling singer with a superlative voice. I’ve heard her sing in recital in Spain and the US.
  4. There have been several deaths outside of China. At this stage, of course, it may be that the number of cases is under-reported as there have been many instances worldwide of people having the virus but having only mild symptoms or being symptom-free. It’s difficult to estimate the rate of mortality. The BBC has broken it down by deciles of age. So far it seems to be 14% for people in their 80s; 8% for people in their 70s; and 4% for people in their 60s. Younger people seem to be little affected. I still travel a lot. But I’m looking at my future travel plans as I wonder if I would want to possibly be quarantined in a foreign city/country and not allowed to return home.
  5. @Latbear4blk won’t you end up paying a lot more in taxes? I guess the Argentine and Brazilian tax authorities will both tax you and the IRS will continue to exact payment in the US, and I think there’s little in the way of double-tax credit. Or are you planning to give up US residency in full and never return?
  6. Think with your soft brain, not your hard cock. Please don’t invite a stranger to your hotel room UNLESS the hotel insists on registering him and checking his ID first. Even if you are physically big and strong, a stranger can rob you at knifepoint once the two of you are alone inside your room. Or he can wait until you are in the bathroom to empty your wallet and your safe. (I know of such incidents happening in both Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo).
  7. I enjoyed it greatly. It’s delicious ‘froth’ and very entertaining. David Corenswet is good eye-candy.
  8. I’ve always wondered about the business model for Fitcasting and whether they make much money. Certainly some of the models work or worked as escorts; I’ve recognised some as ex-BelAmi actors and some as guys working in Zurich and Prague.
  9. Any chance @Riobard that you still have Diego’s contact details? I always prefer to have a good local driver.
  10. As Uber is ceasing operations in Colombia at the end of January, has anyone checked into local taxi firms and their rates compared to the cost of hiring a car and driver for the day in the various cities?
  11. I dated a Brazilian fitness model for a while some years ago, and after him a beautiful young Brazilian-Italian for some months. The fitness model, Felix, was a handsome guy with a remarkable physique; he was the cover-guy of 2 health and fitness magazines. He also came 2nd as Mr Gay Brazil. Always immaculately turned out and dedicated to maintaining his body, he was nicknamed the Gay Pamela Anderson by his friends. After sex, he always took ages to get ready and dress for us to go out for dinner. Enzo, the fashion model, had a long lean athletic body and he too always dressed well. Even when he came over for us to spend a “dirty weekend” together, he dressed ‘to kill’. His quirk was that he could easily spend 30 minutes just showering. I’m not sure where the emphasis on personal grooming and looking great comes from. Perhaps it’s an indicator in Brazil of socio-economic status (as it definitely is in Argentina)? It may also be to stand out in a nation where so many young men are aged under 30 and the market-place for male beauty is very competitive. Certainly I remember a good friend of Enzo who at the age of 22 was an enthusiast for cosmetic surgery - he was a good looking guy who worried about his musculature, and he had the biggest, most symmetrical pecs. Alas I also knew several young Brazilians who were dead before they reached 35. The lure of cheap steroids proved fatal.
  12. Similar cases of extortion have occurred in Buenos Aires. There attractive 15-16 year old sons have been pimped out by their families; the older man faces the choice of paying up or the family reporting it to the police. The cases I heard of all centered on attractive young guys approaching older men in the bathrooms at Retiro, the bus and train station.
  13. Speaking generally, Latin Americans usually carry photo ID on them. In some countries, it’s a legal requirement. So it’s very easy to assure yourself of a guy’s age by asking to see his ID. A request to see ID is not unusual - indeed many hotels will insist upon visitors showing ID before they gain access to a guest’s room. I found in Argentina that young men were rather keen on me (and my big fat wallet) and this request to see their ID prevented any problem.
  14. I appreciate your advice was well-meaning @Latbear4blk but I ate many, many times in restaurants in Palermo (Palermo Soho, Palermo Hollywood, even Palermo Chico). I always avoided places geared to tourists. I chose only good restaurants that were heavily patronized by locals and where reservations were essential. FWIW of the areas you mention, I never ate in La Boca, only 2x in Puerto Madero (in the Faena) and I also ate in places in or near Villa Freud, La Isla but mainly Recoleta. @Anthonyvan it’s simply a very different, and very interesting, culture. I coped with the late nights by always having a routine (sex late afternoon, a snack afterwards, followed by sleep for 1.5-2 hours then shower, shave and change clothes to go out by 9pm) for dinner. True story: I took an old friend of my mother to the Opera. (My guess is that the friend was aged similarly to my mother, mid-80s). She said we’d eat dinner afterwards and booked a very good place (filled with hunting trophies) that was indeed full after the performance ended. She announced to me when we were seated (at nearly midnight) that “as it’s late” she would only eat 1 course; she proceeded to demolish a large steak and a side-dish of potatoes; she drank only a couple of glasses of red wine and refused coffee. I delivered her home just before 2am.
  15. I’m a steak-lover but normally I eat a very varied diet. True story: after 10 days of steak dinners in Buenos Aires, I was in a good restaurant and asked if there was anything other than steak; the waiter went away to check and on returning proudly announced that they had frozen lamb they could defrost for me; I ate steak again. BA may be a more diverse city nowadays but vegetarians/vegans are badly catered for. The French and Italian restaurants do not compare well to those in big European and US cities. No decent restaurants would be open at 7pm - the workers would be having their staff meal. You will therefore have to go to fast-food places to eat. Yes, some locals do eat at 10pm. Fashionable, well-off people often eat later: midnight is a busy time for people to go to dinner on Friday/Saturday. Parents with babies might go to eat at 8pm. Weeknights, I used to reserve at a very good place at 9pm and arrive on time to drink an aperitif before choosing from the menu; the restaurant would fill from 9.30/10pm. Unless you stay awake after midnight, you will not experience the remarkable nightlife of BA. On my first visit, my first night of clubbing began with going for drinks at midnight (after dinner) and then dancing and finally getting home at 6.30am. Cabaret-bars may not even open until 2am. Please be aware, if you make any arrangements to meet Argentines, that they have a chronic tendency to be late. This applies even to working guys. True story: I had a terrific first date with a local red-haired guy and I invited him to dinner the next night; we arranged to meet at my place at 9pm before walking to dinner; he’d confirmed about 6pm but I set off alone at 9.30pm; he called me at the restaurant at 10.30pm to say he would join me in an hour! True story of an almost aborted first date: I met an astoundingly handsome young Army officer (on duty and quartered in the city) but he discreetly gave me his number; we arranged to meet in a cafe in Recoleta the next night at 8pm. I emphasized that punctuality was VERY important. At 8.30 I rang, and he was getting ready to see me. At 9pm I rang again: he was just leaving. I asked where he was and he turned out to be 60kms outside the city as he’d decided to visit friends before dinner. He told me not to worry as he’d be with me in an hour. I didn’t worry and went to dinner with another friend. The soldier rang me at 11pm to say he’d arrived and asked where I was!
  16. My views are based on spending a lot of time during multiple visits to Buenos Aires. I’m a “foodie” and enjoy travelling, sometimes with a local boyfriend. Do you speak Spanish well @Anthonyvan? I think the sex scene is much less in Argentina. In general, young attractive Argentines seem to like to talk about sex whereas young Brazilians get right to it. Of course, paid companions work in both cities but it may be more difficult to access them in BA. Perhaps you can start by finding an attractive local who will act as your ‘tour guide’ and see how that progresses. As for food, I think BA is still mainly for carnivores. If you like steak, you will be happy. BA has very good ice-cream too. And get used to eating dinner late: 9pm is perhaps the earliest you can dine, unless you wish to eat with parents and babies. Also, I feel it’s important to dress smartly if you want to access the social scene in BA. A lot of importance is attached to dress as connoting socio-economic status. And alas, I have to mention that racism can be an issue in BA. I’ve often heard casual racist remarks expressed openly, even by sophisticated well-educated people.
  17. Forgive my confusion @AdamSmith but I’m at a loss to understand how your above post relates to what’s been discussed in this thread?
  18. Reminds me of the saying by Dorothy Parker.... “If you want to know what God thinks of money, just look at the people he gave it to“
  19. That you were thinking of desperate guys in poor, Third World countries puts a completely different complexion on this @Europeanman I wouldn’t want to hire or exploit some desperate guy. When I travel in poor countries, I do tip lavishly for normal services in hotels, restaurants etc. In the past, I have been approached by some nice, handsome guys in such countries; if we hit it off, I take them to dinner before we do anything else, and I make sure to look after them well.
  20. Desperation is an unattractive quality in any playmate, whether a free date or a working guy. That said, if there’s a personal connection when we talk and it seems as if there’s chemistry between us, I’d proceed. It’s impossible to know why someone might be “desperate for money”as @Europeanman observed. The need for money may range from an ordinary guy wanting to pay an unexpected bill, to a guy needing to pay his mortgage or his monthly rent or a guy needing cash for his socializing with friends, right upto guys needing money for food or a quick fix. I steer clear of addicts but I’ve played with guys who needed help to pay their mortgage and guys who earned money to spend later in the clubs.
  21. I think you’re exactly right @Gotti Years ago, I knew and played with several Brazilian muscleboys and fitness-models. Some have become actors on TV. One fitness-model was very keen for me to be his sugar-daddy; he wanted a steady income and to take less risk with his sexual health. Although there are several handsome young models starting out professionally, I certainly don’t encounter any seeking a sugar-daddy or regular support in Europe. Maybe the scarcity is partly due to model agencies not wanting to recruit superbly muscled and athletic men; maybe the preference has shifted to a very lean physique. Maybe the models themselves are learning to monetize their assets differently. For instance, OnlyFans offers one way for them to generate a very steady $ income.
  22. I was asked about whether guys are available... Not that I am aware of. The gay scene has declined a lot over the last 10 years. There used to be 2-3 gay male brothels in the city centre, guys for hire on the Sea Point beach promenade at night, several gay bars and coffee shops in the CBD as well as gay guys advertising massage services in the classified section of the local paper. And historically there was lot of cruising activity in the major gay gym (Virgin Active in Green Point), more take-away than consume-on-the-premises. The notorious highlight was one year when a vacationing American porn star after his work out put on a show in the steam-room as he auto-fellated. There was quite a line of guys trying to get into the steam-room. When I first visited and was single, I met a male model in a bar. He stayed over at my hotel for breakfast and all it cost me was 2 beers in a bar. I’d meet guys at the beach or the gym and get sucked off for free. Sometimes a guy might need to be invited for lunch first and that might cost $15. One time, I met a visiting Brazilian model who was very handsome and in Cape Town for work but very lonely; that cost me a seafood dinner and 2 bottles of wine - turned out to be a great investment of maybe $70. I’d say then that it was most unusual to be asked for cash; the invitation for a drink or a meal made it less transactional. Like everywhere, I guess the action has moved online to the apps. There is still a gay bar (now billed as the only openly gay bar in Africa) and a gay cafe. There’s also a gay sauna in the city centre. There’s also gay nudism and cruising at Sandy Bay, a beach south of Llandudno, about 20kms south from the city (but NB men have been robbed there). I am talking here of athletic or muscled young white guys that I met. In the past, I was propositioned by some black guys, whom I suspected were G4P, but I’ve no idea what they did or what they charged. I’m told there is a whole scene of Cape Coloured guys - don’t criticise me, that’s the term they use about themselves; they are mixed race - involved in male prostitution and servicing black men at the main railway station (a very high crime risk zone). Also, some educated Cape Coloured guys studying at university discreetly seek ‘sugar daddies’ in the bars and clubs to finance their studies. I thought I’d post this in the Africa section too in case anyone searches in future.
  23. As I wrote earlier, in Spain ‘morbo’ refers to kinky sex. It’s an over-used term and can mean many things, like describing a man as ‘hot’. One man’s kink can be vanilla to another man.
  24. Yes @Craftybutcher I’ve known this to happen before. The romance I know of was a middle-aged closeted ex-Army officer going on holiday to Brazil...and coming back to the UK with a slim young 21year old as his live-in boyfriend. The problems emerged later. The boyfriend couldn’t work legally and as he came from a poor background, he delighted in the ready availability of fresh food, unlimited baked goods and desserts. The slim 21year old soon morphed into a very fat 25year old and the middle-aged guy was less and less enamoured of his boyfriend’s rapidly expanding waistline.
