I don't use Uber in Mexico City.  Too much fraudulent activity, IMO.  Instead, I recommend using, from the airport, "authorized" taxi's from "Sitio 300" for which you can pre-pay the drive at a kiosk at the airport.  Authorized taxi's from the airport offer safe and secure trips to your hotel/destination for a pittance in comparison to taxi prices it the USA.  I've been doing this for the past 30+ years.

You're right.  There was a time, maybe 15-20 years ago, I posted extensively to CFS.  It was one of the best cruising websites, contributed to by some awesome people.  I remember, too, Dreaded Ned's Thailand forums to which I posted.  What a free for all that was!  I recognize a couple of names on this forum who also posted there, back in the day.

Whenever I feel fatigue I start thinking about next Thai trip or indeed , next any trip and immediately get energized.
As for diet I never pay any attention to what I eat other than listening to my body - if I felt something is not serving me well I reduced  or cut it off, fortunately are  very few things eliminated , mostly seafood.
Main change as I got older is that my hair become grey, then silver and now it's white which even shocks my sister. But as always i look at full half of glass - I still have most of my hair, yahooo !
Beautiful feeling  that I don't need to work ( I still do though  out of greed I guess ) and listen to corporate crap is another bright spot in  aging. In fact there are  very few things I feel I must do and even those , like contributing to this forum are rather easy on me.

Maybe it's time to stop worrying about what others may think - unless you want your life to continue being unhappy.  If it were me and I came out to my friends, but they refuse to understand, then I'd say they were never real friends in the first place.  If that happens, why not just drop them and move on to the life you really want.
That's what I did and I've never regretted it.  Some understood and we remain friends to this day.  Others, to hell with them.  I would do it again without hesitation.  I hope you'll do the same.

Similar case to @floridarob , when I was in my teens an elderly and very glamorous friend of my parents told me that the only regrets in life are the things you didn't do.
She appeared to have it all, still stylish approaching 80, in demand at social events, wealth. She had never married because the man she loved had not been good enough for her in her family's eyes and unable to marry the man she wanted without being cut off from the family money, she devoted her life to being an ornament on the social circuit. As she approached 80 it was a decision she very much regretted.
Her advice to me was very clear: you have one shot at life, live it for who you are and want to be, don't live it to conform to the expectations of others.
Buying a condo in Pattaya suggests to me that you have attempted to start a new life.
Why not make a second attempt?
Buy a condo somewhere else, away from you new 'hetro friends', and start over with a plan, a clearer vision and determination of who you want to be, who you want your friends to be and what you want to experience in the next phase of your life.

You still talking about wine, or did it drift into sexual territory......😳
it's 2022...most hetero guys don't care, might have other gay friends. I have lot's of straight friends that know I'm gay, as long as you don't go into detail about sex, they're generally cool with everything. And if they aren't....they weren't really your friends.
Gays can be more judgmental than straights....not to mention catty and dramatic, lol

Not really.  CNN has consistently, for many years now, contracted with and paid spokespersons/supporters of the various Presidents to appear and present their viewpoint.  No other network does this. It's not something new.  CNN has been consistent in offering "both sides" in those panel discussions.

When my cable bill hit $89 eight years ago I cancelled it in favor of an old fashioned tv antenna. I get 64 channels, giving me all the news, sports and entertainment options I need. Consequently I'm spared the scores of cable news offerings that prove more political than informative.

Fox is fake news, MSNBC is consider the far left, CNN is left of center, especially in the opinion shows.  But the new direction from the new owner is to treat the republicans as honest people with a different viewpoint; instead of a pack of well documented power seeking lying hypocrites.
"there are very fine people on both sides"
with mainstream media owned by the rich oligarchs manipulating the news, USA is not a democracy, it is a plutocracy .

    Hi everybody!
I am in RJ for three months, but now I just wanted to comment that I visited Belem, state of Pará.
Belem is an interesting city with excellent Amazonian gastronomy. A three days visit is enough, though.
There is the Paradise sauna, with some very friendly GPs.
The price difference with RJ is remarkable (100 BRS).
    Best greetings,
    Epi

probably yes but since we have only Gay Thailand forum and we not sure if airport ghosts are gay,  most likely reader, OP did not want to risk their wrath and took secure road by placing it here. After all, ghosts , gay or not , can be everywhere , no ?

I think I understand.  An older gay guy who prefers/enjoys the companionship of slight-build younger men is flattered when that young man fawns over him, pleases or slightly pleases him sexually, etc.  It's a relationship many guys don't have the opportunity of back home - so they don't want to let go.  Smart, intelligent (otherwise) farangs.  Such relationships/financing isn't limited to Thailand, as we know.  And it's not limited to just the gay community.  Straight men and Pinoy women (as one example) ... you see/hear a lot of the same commentary.  In the Philippines, it's not just the girl/young lady you help support ... but her extended family (sometimes true in Thailand).  I've known many young men in Mexico who have had 2 or 3 foreigners financially supporting them - at the same time.  I'd laugh watching the Mexicans juggling the visits of their backers/lovers (particularly in Acapulco).  "A fool and his money are soon parted" (Thomas Tusser).

I'd like to know where he got that from.  Maybe he's right, but i would like to know his source.  I've never heard any such thing.  There is a royal residence on Pratumnak, rarely used, but I have no idea what that would have to do with Jomtien Complex which is nowhere near.  Does that mean all of Jomtien is royal land extending at least from Pratumnak to the beach?  The Jomtien Complex venues pay their rent to whom?
Again, maybe he's right, but that makes no sense to me.  Why would royal land mean just about anything goes except go-go bars?   If it really is royal property that doesn't allow go-go bars, then why don't the venues try petitioning to get that revoked?  Nothing to lose by trying.

I can agree with that.  In Brazil I spent most of my time in rural areas, but even in Rio it was hard to find anyone who spoke more than a word or two of English.

I've had problems in Brasil, of my own doings. Alcohol makes you do stupid things.....

Wherever I go , I try to be aware of my surroundings and taking alcohol out of the equation, I haven't had problems in any of the countries I've mentioned.

You've been to some of the countries I've talked about.....as has Gaybutton. Look at Namazu, when I met him all he knew was Asia for the most part, look what happened to him after knowing about Brasil and Colombia 😆

I just can't wrap my head around how the Thai's and others get farang's so brainwashed into supporting them financially.

I've told this story here before: I was pretty good friends with Hugh Miller, he used to be the manager at Ambiance. We'd hang out in BBB or even in BKK and the stories he told of boys that claimed to work on farms (yet had hands smoother than mine) and had multiple foreigners sending them money for fake emergencies (even with photos). He used to laugh when the boy had 2 "Boyfriends" in town at the same time, he said it was like watching a 3 ring circus.

So, with that in mind....and I know, I know...everyone thinks their situation is "different", but is it?

Tomcal for all the years I've known him was the staunchest believer that how can a 20-30 yr old model LOVE a 70 yr old wrinkled ass, he knew it was the money that was the attraction. He used to say, tell the guy you're broke and lost all your money in the stock market, cut them off from all money and see how much time they stay with you.

Then he found someone who blatantly was using him, but for whatever reason thought it was love. He went against all advice he had been giving for more than 20 yrs and his response "this is different" 🙄

This post went astray , the point being....it's a big world....lot's of other known and interesting places to explore and be a whore. Stop throwing money away so you can feel better about "helping" someone (get the latest iPhone) when there are people that could use the money for real.

Personally, I don't see the red flags you do, but to each his own standards.  I know something about photoshop and that video isn't photoshopped and those photos of him holding the big dick give me no concern that they aren't accurate.  Just because the advertisement doesn't meet your standards doesn't equate to it or he being deceptive.  Those of us who may hire him always have the opportunity to communicate with him and ask for more detail - and his Whatsapp number is included.  What if a reader on the forum suggests you have ulterior motives shading this guy?  If untrue you wouldn't like being called dishonest, either.  🙄

Maybe you and I have looked at different individuals.  When I click on the link I viewed a video which shows a handsome body and big dick (not erect), and there is a still photo of him with an erect dick.  I agree with vetting someone before hiring, but calling this individual's listing as deceptive is a bit of a stretch - based solely on the information contained in the advertisement.  🙄

I'm always amazed at how many members here haven't ventured into Latin and South America......I love my trips to Asia (changes things up)  am amazed at the money people throw at some of the guys in Thailand.

Just back From Bogota ($20-$30, no off fess, no expensive drinks) and Panama, got a cute guy on Grindr for $35, there were others asking $80-100, Panama is more expensive overall...but has some real hotties that will negotiate down to $50.

I live in Mexico and it's a big country with gay places throughout.....then there is the motherload, Brasil.

I know guys that go strictly to latin countries because the "don't like Asians"....I'll never understand that either. I show pics of guys from Bali or Thailand and they think they are Latin.

Brasil and Mexico never closed during Covid either.....

I think this is true for Pattaya, but not necessarily for Bangkok, where I spend the great majority of my nights when I'm in Thailand. While the twinks have disappeared from DJ Station, doing so sometime around 2008, there seemed to have been plenty to choose from in the Soi Twilight-now-Patpong go-go bars, especially Screwboys. I found this to be true on several visits in the years leading up to covid. The problem of course is how easy it is to burn a gaping hole in my pocket as soon as I walk into one of these bars. The drink prices are beyond high. Then there are tips and other fees. Plus, I'd usually take whomever I might have taken a liking to out for more drinks or to DJ Station. Whereas years ago starting out with 7,000 baht in my wallet would be more than enough to sustain me, these days 7,000 baht simply is not enough.
So, despite my lack of Pattaya success over the decades I usually make my way there when I realize I have to stop spending so much.
Here's another interesting phenomenon. While Pattaya is much less expensive for us tourists, the guys I've met in the bars say Bangkok is the better deal for them. They can demand higher pay and, they say, their apartment rents are cheaper.
So I have to wonder, why do the bar boyz choose Pattaya over Bangkok?
