slavery was abolished more than 150 years ago.

On serious note decision to retire  will come naturally based on my experience . I was not planning although I'm well  past retirement age,  then it dawned on me that time is running out  like somebody commented on another forum - longer you save for the future , shorter that future becomes.

    Well said 😄

I guess if your working past 65 you can still save Moree $$$ for trips ,..more money for the guys 😜

Another great trip report as always!

i am not surprised since it is coming from you. but it was such a pleasant surprise to see multiple posts within a couple of days.  readers used to have to wait for several hours or sometimes a few days between each installment on your previous trips. it must be retirement that made this difference.

    early retirement is my goal!

    Go on work until 70!

There was sort of an unspoken arrangement in Canada where most people just minded their own business and left others alone. In Canada I think it was mainly only a hardcore wing of the Catholic Church that openly spoke against rights on issues like gay marriage and abortion. But now a lot more people are open about hating gays, hating immigrants and hating women who want freedom from patriarchy.

Unfortunately the "left "or Antifa are only blaming the Christian groups never the "religion of peace" (Muslim)

I haven't got time for any religion actually

That's for sure. Anti-gay stuff is all over social media now in Canada. We had a series of "Save the Children" marches in Canada in the fall.... you can guess who the children needed to be saved from. The usual radical Christians/right wing bigots were joined by Muslim gay haters which was a first. They provided comments like, "they're disgusting, they should be dead," and "they have no human rights, they're not human, they're animals." As for the white bigots, they're using gays/trans as targets for now because they're easy to go after without much blowback, but it will spread to more severe racially motivated attacks and against women.

Ah yes we had this in Australia last year  too , Christians joining Muslims to protest against gay people and even walking through gay areas .

I have no time for any religion

I will try 39 today. I hope it's not too crowded today because of Chinese new year. An old sauna saying goes: the more people, the less action.

There used to be a sauna in BKK that was notorious for ripping off and discriminating older farangs. Which one was that?

Have I already said how much I miss the old Babylon?

    Please keep us updated

Regarding the 3 forums - you can definitely see that they are shrinking and dying off.  What they have been replaced with I am not sure that there are any other social media vehicles that fill the role that these 3 forums did (Gaybutton, Sawatdee Gay Thailand, and GayGuides).

I wonder what the new communication is among the current or future gay expats will be.

Maybe they are more into Livestream or tiktok ?

It’s so busy. Huge queues to get in and like sardines inside. But it can be a lot of fun.  Depends a bit on the spot you find. If it’s the thoroughfare it can be intense jostling/shoving/grabbing!. Not for the claustrophobic.   It’s mainly outdoor and they have the overhead pipe installations basicallly soaking you throughout.  Fake works best going as a group of friends.  And it’s 99% local crowd/SE Asian.  If you do a Songkran you should do a night at fake.  Much more authentic.

Great for you young fit guys, not so much for us old daddies 😊

  10. Having not  looked at the other gay forums for months, only to notice not as  many posts as in the past.

My question to older longer stay expats in Pattaya is , have you noticed less gay expats moving to Pattaya /Jomtien?

If so, are all the "new" ones sociable as the ones say 20 years ago or more into their phones and more introverted?

Is there any difference in this current retired gay expat generation in Pattaya?

Do you think there are less gay expats retired in Pattaya than say 20 years ago or more or  about the same?

I know obviously many  have passed on ,many we do not see post as in the past sadly which means they may have passed

I did click on to read a few older posts on here and click on the posters names some of whom haven't been on the forum for years so I gather they have passed.

    I guess time moves on

If your fiance in no way looks like he might be underage, then I would share with your indignation and insult, and make an appropriate complaint about how their policy has been misused to humilate you.

This is what Unicorn (OP) may mean and if it is then it's shocking and homophobic

Look I had a few problems checking into hotels with my Filipino BF , not a great deal just some had signs up they don't accept "unmarried" couples etc

Trafficking in minors is a hot issue right now, especially in Los Angeles. As far as I'm concerned, we should all be concerned about the issue, and do our part to crush the problem. I suggest you put your hurt pride on the table, and consider the greater good. Of course it's not fun to be profiled in any way, no matter what the situation is. Most of us have been there in one way or another. I find it best not to take these things too personally. There is NO WAY to control how other people see us. I am continually shocked, now that I am sixty, how strangers treat me. Just had an incident yesterday that I won't go into. I let the kid slide. His day is coming.

Well you had a go at the bloke because he wasn't happy  with the reception asking if he was a child trafficker so tell us what issue you had with the young person and we can decide about you
