In shops with minimum tips (800-1,000 range), I rarely get asked how much for climax. It’s generally understood by all that the tip is inclusive.

I typically give an extra few hundred baht for exceptional performance, especially if I intend to repeat with same guy.

in shops with no minimum, I tip in the same range.

Exactly. I just carry 1000's and 100's and always tip minimum 1000 if special services (for me, not special for them haha) and throw in a few 100 more if they (a) don't discuss money during the massage and (b)  provide above and beyond services (showering me, hug at end, generally happy environment.) I have been to the same masseur twice and had totally different experiences on multiple occasions. Sometimes the stars align and sometimes they don't...

So should every client that day expect him to climax with no extra remuneration?

The point is I could care less if he climaxes, has a nice dinner, gets a present from his girlfriend... I am paying for his services for 90 minutes and that does not entail me paying him to get off. If he gets worked up and comes, good for him, but this is not a lover, this is an employee, and I don't care if he comes.

I know, it sounds harsh, but I just thought it was comical. "You do you, honey, I'm good over here."

Having said all of that, I totally respect if a client likes to see a climax and is willing to pay for that specific service, so for those who are into it I guess his offer makes sense. But for those not, to me it was a humorous moment.😆

  3. Yes, they are completely fluent on LINE and in person there's a guy at the front desk who speaks very good English. Unlike some of the other places (like KMAN) they don't try to upsell you more services (more expensive oils, longer session) and are very polite / customer service oriented.

  4. The best shop I have found in Silom 6 is RELAX... they have great response skills on LINE app and the masseurs are all very friendly. Rooms are clean with shower and have GREAT AC which the others (like Paradise) do not. No fun sweating in a massage before all the action starts.

  5. You're right, typo on my part... jet lag. For some reason you can't go back and edit a post already entered?

I like the places that establish minimum tip up front... I don't like to interrupt the flow with a negotiation. But to me the funny part was he wanted ME to pay HIM to get off?!? hahahahah

  6. And Mango Tree! Right next to all of the action, delicious food and great people watching (I might have a crush on the owner/ manager)....

11 am massage at Prime, then Mango Tree, then more massage after lunch.... have to order carefully so I'm not too full for massage!

  7. I'll respond to my own message in case anyone is searching in the future.... I stopped by this week and the mamasan was very pushy. He asked what type of massage and I said "Oil" and he said "no, AROMA oil, much better, less sticky" and then demanded a "deposit" to reserve my slot 2 hours later... in an empty shop on an almost empty street at 2 in the afternoon mid-week. The whole place smelled like gin and regret (cue Beverly Leslie)... and lots of cigarettes. I ended up leaving and going to Relax, which will be part of my trip report I will write once this jet lag is better...

  8. We had two great dinners at EAT ME... gay owned of course and $$$ but not insane depending how you order. Lovely welcoming staff. Reservations a must. Everyone in there was gay I think haha.

  9. After wading through the hundreds of therapists at the dozens of spas and narrowing them down, it's proving comically frustrating to try to actually book any of them.

    Here are some examples:

    Kman spa:

Me: what is the price for (name) Saturday 2 pm with vip room?

    Kman: OK

Several days later, me: "Can I book (name) Saturday Apri 27 at 2 pm for 90 mins in vip room?"

Kman: "The shop accepts reservations every day." (I'm finding this is an auto-response as I see it frequently with them.)

    Me: <name> new line <April 27>

Kman: The shop accepts reservations every day.

    Me: silence

Kman: Have you asked to reserve again?

    Me: Again?

Me: (asks same question about booking Saturday, this time in Thai using Google Translate)

Kman: (in Thai) The shop accepts reservations every day.

Me: gif of Ryan Gosling confused at the Academy Awards

Kman: The shop accepts reservations every day.

Me: Same therapists every day or you have others?

    The One: Yes.

    ***

Onespa: We chat on LINE app. (sends link to download app)

Me: We are chatting on LINE app right now.

    Onespa: We are Sky Massage.

And this one is my FAVORITE...🤣

Me: thank you for sending photos of (name). 52-54-56?

    TCS Spa: 34-24-26

    TCS Spa: 1234

    TCS Spa: 5678

I'm thinking I should just show up and see what a shop has?🤣

  10. With Bangkok 1 week away I find myself overwhelmed with all the choices that are flowing in hourly on my LINE app.... I am definitely going to return to a few of my favorites from last trip, but want to meet new favorites. I know reviews aren't allowed here but would welcome any DM's with your favorites. I promise to then post a trip report with how it all goes.😎

I am definitely going to try Kman but WOW they have so many therapists... I know I'm not buying a house, just 90 mins, but I'm only there once a year.... and all the choices are beginning to look the same. I find myself saying wait is that the same guy at Relax? Where is this spa?

Going in circles... help a guy out....😘

  11. I'm returning to Bangkok later this month and have never been during the super hot season. I'm guessing we will use more Grabs than we did when it was cooler, but am wondering if there are any other suggestions beyond the usual, carry lots of water, wear a hat etc.

Specifically, I recall all of the massage places having aircon when I was there... but recognizing these are not 5-star hotels, is your experience that inside the spas is comfortable even when there's such extreme heat outside?

    Thank you!
