  1. For reference, when was this? One of the reviews on the agoda says:
  2. Isn't the problem primarily the scam... They offer to sell you fake money worth $20,000, for just $1000. You send the money. They don't send the fake money. What are you gonna do? Complain to the police that you tried to buy counterfeit money?
  3. This is a common problem for all major currencies at the moment
  4. Your language is quite confusing. For example: "And this need I'm describing isn't a huge thing in my life, just something I want to take care of" The language implies that you think that you're going to have this experience, and that's it. Your urges will be satisfied, and you can get on with your life. Consider that it might be like just any other itch... the more you scratch it, the more it itches. And you potentially will cause damage every time you give in to the urge to scratch the itch. When you talk about issues and hesitencies, you're quite right. People do. And not just about sexuality, but about a whole lot of things in life. Generally the advice is to get support to work through those issues, and overcome the hesitencies. I don't know what your particular issues and hesitencies are, but I'd urge you to think about whether flying half way round the world is going to solve them. In a nutshell, I'm urging you to resolve the issues and hesitencies, with proper help and support, whatever they are Good luck
  5. Worth considering, that for a boy to be getting close to the average wage in a western country, they'd need to be getting a trick for 1500 baht every day of every month in a year. And from my limited, beginner experience at this... they don't get a trick every day.
  6. I'd be very wary about buying second hand or "fake" branded computers if you're ever going to use it for accessing sensitive and important websites or info, like banking and other financial services. There is a strong possibility that these devices may come with spyware designed to capture your personal details and open you up to being scammed. It might be on there from the activities of the previous owner. Buy new & buy genuine would be my advice.
  7. I'm going to guess that OP does not use English as his first langauge. Thus browsing through these forums looking for those nuggets of good advice is substantially harder work than it might be for others. Further it's useful for new threads to pop up to refresh the information. Does finding a post from 3 years ago describing a sauna have any relevence to how that sauna is today?
  8. I nearly went to SR, on my most recent trip, but I was using some expiring Miles I had with Thai Airways to book, and Chaing Mai was more in budget for the miles. Maybe next trip I will look into Cambodia; Men's Resort sounds like a lot of fun
  9. Has there been much of a detriment to Thai society since Cannabis was legalised? Beyond the huge number of cannabis shops that is?
  10. You've jumped from the ingredients are expired and rancid, to irrational fears about not knowing whats in the oil and sauces. Ingredients are cheap in Thailand, because it is an extremely fertile country with a constant growing season. Undoubtedly the street vendors are not buying A grade, Michelin star level ingredients. That doesn't mean the food isn't fresh, delicious or edible. The one respect in which you may have a point is the welfare standards of the animals they rear for food; but this point applies to any restaurant that uses locally sourced meat or poultry.
  11. Absurd comparison. You're correlating poor quality processed food with freshly cooked food made with relatively basic, fresh ingredients. One indeed does have a choice. One can hold an irrational fear of bad ingredients and miss out on tasty, freshly cooked cheap food.
  12. I think one can be judicious in their choices. If you see the same vendor, at the same place, day after day (or night after night), and it is popular with locals, then I think you can assume it is a safe place to eat.
  13. You think you'll see it cut your bar bills ?
  14. Aviation regulators have a very good policy of avoiding placing blame on people. They will investigate the incident, they will determine what went wrong, and crucially, what needs to be changed so that this does not happen again. That might be changes to aircraft design, changes to airports, changes to the words used to give clearances, or additional training requirements for pilots or ATCs. Unfortunately our media and our politicans have trained us to have a psychological need for someone to take the blame, even if it is not the right person. It makes people feel better just"knowing" the answer. Even if it is not the right one. In this case, alot of people are jumping to conclusions already, and laying blame with the pilot of of the Dash-8 plane based on what little information the media has been given. For example, I've seen a report that the stop lights at the junction where the Dash-8 was supposed to stop were not working. I don't know how accurate that is, but the Air Accident report will detail everything.
  15. As promised, I did stop by Adam's Apple Go Go bars are not for me I think, but I felt very welcomed and well accomodated. Would recommend to anyone visiting
  16. I haven't. No desire to, either.
  17. Based on previous trip reports posted by others, I don't think my experiences in Sol or Adam's Apple were particualrly abnormal. It may indeed be argued that a selection of boys that better match my idea of beauty would have made the experiences more interesting, but I'm not entirely convinced. When I compare to the nights spent in caberet shows like Ram or Venue, I think the difference is the quality of the entertainment. I enjoy the shows, and if there are pretty boys to look at, all the better. That said, on this occasion, I was far from being a dog on heat when I visited the GoGo bars, so I was mostly thinking with the brain in my head instead of the one in my pants.
  18. Indeed. One of my friends chided me to "be safe" when I was talking to them soon after arriving in BKK the first day. I replied: "I feel very safe in Thailand, don't worry". I have been pickpocketed before in Gran Canaria, the thief lifting my phone. Luckily I had insurance. The feeling of lack of desire has been something plaguing me for months now... I think M and Pattaya might have done something to fix it, thankfully
  19. You guys are funny So my hotel booked me a taxi to Jomtien. 1200baht, seemed like a good deal to me, especially since the trip back to BKK was 1600. So on arrival at Jomtien, I check into hotel, and go for a little wander to find the beach and see the area. On walking past one of the massage shops in the complex, I'm grabbed at by multiple boys... clearly the boys are far more forward here! I carry on walking trying to smile and shake my head and say no. On my return, I spy out Sophia's thai, and a couple cafe/resturants opposite, and make note for food later. My favourite thai food is 'pad gra pow'... and if you ask for not spicy, they simply leave out all of the chillis, If you ask for a little spice, you get all of the spice. So my first night, I go around the Complex, checking out all the bars. It's busy because its christmas eve, seems like everyone is out. As I'm wandering through several of the bar boys try to grab me to pull me into their bars. One even gives me a bear hug and wont let me past. I was cold sober at this point, and I'm a pretty shy reserved guy. Stangers grabbing and hugging me uninvited is not what I call fun. I eventually find a bar that looks a bit quiter with a good seat to people watch. After some time, I get a message from the boys I saw it BBK, they're sitting at the bar nearby and invite me over. I sit for drinks and get to know them all better. At the end of the night, I go back with one, I'll call him M, and M certainly wasn't just a beautiful face. He was defintely worth every baht of his tip. He leaves after, and I go to sleep satisfied. The next morning I take a little trip over to Terminal 21 to wander the mall and see if there is any good sales on. I find a couple of nice things, and head back to the complex. After a swim and a rest, I'm ready for night 2. I run the massage shop gauntlet again to get some food, then I decide to go to the Venue for the show. After enjoying the awesome show, I end up back drinking with M and his friends. I go back to hotel alone though. The following day I spend relaxing by at the beach and by the pool, and of the evening, I eat then join M and friends for drinks. We end up playing drinking games, and M asks me to take him back to the hotel, and thats where we go. After some good times were had, we both head back to join the others for more drinking and games. M wants to stay with me the night, and I say yes. I leave to your imaginations what we got up to. At this point, M is starting to refer to me as his bf... which would suprise none of the more experienced members here I'm sure. It's my last full day in Thailand, and I spend most of it with M, relaxing at the beach and having lunch. Of the evening, we part company for a while, before meeting up again. I want to see the Venue show again, and M comes along. He's really not into the show at all, but I'm enjoying it... technical issues and all My last night I spend alone as I needed to be up early for the flight home. I had thought this would be my last ever trip to LoS... but I think I've been convinced that there is still much more for me to enjoy there. Thanks for reading
  20. I arrived back in BKK quite late. My plane had been delayed, and I'd missed out on plans for drinks with ex and friends. I still dragged my carcass off to DJ station for another night of fun flirting with boys in the club. One particular group caught my attention, and they looked like they were having a great time. The following day, I got a message on grindr from one of the boys in the group I'd seen the night before, and we started chatting. I met up with ex and friend for the day, going up the river towards the Royal Palace area, they wanted to do a little jewelry shopping, and there was a big temple nearby to visit, that I'd never been to before. That evening we went for drinks in Soi 4, before they departed for home and I went to DJ station one last time. After some time, dancing and flirting, Nam messaged me on Line asking if I wanted to meet. It was my last night in Bangkok, and Nam is super cute, so I went for it. After a little negotiation,we agreed a price, and I took him back to the hotel. He showered first, and then I showered. We got into bed, and he's on his phone watching straight porn to get hard. This threw me a bit, and killed whatever sexual desires I had for him at that point. I guess I found out that straight boys defintely don't do it for me. I declined to continue with him, gave him 1500baht for his time, and showed him out. I was horny at this point though, and so I turned to Grindr. They boyI'd seen in the club was online, and we started chatting. They were visiting from Pattaya for the weekend, and were going back the next day. Co-incidently, that's exactly where I was heading!
  21. To be fair, I was more thinking of guys that I don't think were money boys, who I was flirting with in DJ station. I very much would have wanted to do naughty things with them had the natural urges been there.
  22. My first full day in Chiang Mai, I spent exploring the old city, visiting lots of temples and drinking a lot of coffee. It was pretty enjoyable and very chilled. That evening I went to the night bazaar, and had some food from the very many vendors there. I wandered around looking at the usual trash sold to tourists, then decided to check out the local bars. I was staying very close to RAM Show bar, and there were a couple other bars on that street that looked pretty dead and empty. So I went to Ram. And glad I did. The show was pretty damn good, the dancer boys looked very sexy and I got chatting to a lot of people. The next day I went shopping at the local mall, and did some more temple exploring. That evening I went to Adam's Apple club. The Mamasan was very chatty, but managed to say all the wrong things to me; explaning at legnth about how all the boys are from poor families. I think he wanted to guilt me into parting with all my money to help them, but in the end it kind of reinforced my internal biases on how exploitative the industry can be. Yet, despite this Mamasan did manage to find me one of the boys who spoke good english, so at least I could have a good conversation. I will say that the boys at Adam's Apple did seem like they were having a bit more fun that the bored looking souls I saw in Sol in BKK. They were very much up for a laugh during the cock show. A good mix of twinky boys and hunky guys, but honestly not one as good looking as Nam, and none that I would have offed. This would be the last GoGo bar I visit this trip, and maybe, ever. I just don't think they're fun. I would however, very much recommend Adam's Apple if GoGo's are your thing. After paying my checkbin, and tipping the concerned parties, I headed back to Ram bar, catching the very end of the show and the slow exodus of customers after. I think I need to point out at this juncture: my thoughts, opinions are about what I think is right for me. Not whats right for anyone else. Just because I don't find something fun doesn't mean I think no-one else should find enjoyment in it. The following day I planned to go for a hike up to the temples on the hill, but I was just lazy. Instead I lazed most of the day in bed, before hunger took me out for lunch. After which, I decided I would try a massage with extras. I chose Classic House because it was fairly close to the hotel, and operated on a walk in basis. I opted for a Thai Massage, and that apparently reduced my options of massuese to just two boys. I picked the more handsome, and we went up to the room where I shed my clothes and showered. The massage itself was fairly good, and when it came time to do happy ending, I just wasn't turned on, so declined his ministrations. He finished up the massage, I tipped generously, and left. Needless to say, the evening found me back at Ram's enjoying the show once again. Different show each night... amazing. I also had big crushes on a couple of the dancers; so that might have been the main reason The following day, I went on a group tour around Doi Inthanon National Park, visiting a Hill tribe that grows some superb coffee, the two Pagodas for the King and Queen and visited a waterfall. A very nice day, highly recommend. Again I ended up in Ram's and for the last night managed to chat with the dancer boys I had a crush on. Alas my sex drive just wasnt there to help me seal the deal, and take them back to the hotel. My last day I ventured back into the old city for a bit, and took a massage in one of the temples, before collecting my bags and flying off back to BKK, where things start to get spicier for those of you hoping for more sordid tales.
  23. Perhaps I should become one In honesty, my sex drive hasn't been firing on all cylinders lately... so while I was flirting with the boys in the club, I had no urge to take them back. and do nasty things with them 😈
