On my way to São Paulo. I will do another report, and I will try to visit some other places I didn’t have the chance to go on my previous visit, like Chilli Pepper Hotel and Upgrade (that I strangely didn't visit last time) I might repeat Hot House, depending on the quality of the interactive, and visit Thermas Lagoa daily. Can't believe how good the exchange rate is: $1 = R$5.03 🤪🤪🤪🤪

seeya!!!

Did it happen around the equator?

I want to try places that I can visit between Lagoa trips, either before, in the morning, or after hours.

I like upgrade club ....the cute guys are usually more bottom than I am....So I usually take a guy from the sauna or Grindr with me so I have a sure thing....they have 4 slings , bar, strippers at times, cool vibe, super clean.

Before covid their theme nights used to include naked night, obligatory naked.....was fun to watch on those nights.

Thanks, Every one. The history of my life.  Jot and pretty are super bottom. :(

I am back at Lagoa. I using Lagoa WiFi since Hotel Heritage sucks. It says too many login in the same network. And I am saving my data for when I am in street. I was checking Hot House and the interactive there his name is Daniel Toro, I think, he is  not nice and I will never say this about anyone but him I wouldn't even touch. I hope is not only him the whole weekend.
I keep looking for a place to go Thursday night, for a change. But I can't find.
my GP is ready. See ya 🤣🤣🤪🤪

Then might I encourage you to enjoy yourself immensely while you're in these cities of " hot men." Report FULLY once you return to the place of your departure.

Get your rest, reflect and bask in the afterglow and recount. "WRITE FULLY" here--bringing us into what you encountered.  😊  That is what others and I did a decade or so ago when we managed to travel to "Mother Brazil" and submerge ourselves in her vibrant and varied culture and well as its men: gorgeous guys who were in the saunas as well as on Escort Sites.

At the time I consulted some agencies that are no longer, but today's cite is:  netgay.com.br.  The requested fee is a little higher than those asked for by the garotas who're in the saunas, but again they are way less than the fees of escorts who're in parts of Europe and the United States.

If an escort asks for $250 to $300+ U.S., I would pass him by.

Continue to enjoy and be mesmerized, and what was told to me a few years back: "Remember to use your big head vs the smaller one" when you are in this country:"  Advice that others and I have found to be quite valuable.

*I must return to Mother Brazil."

I like the Hotel Heritage; it's pretty and quiet, but the rooms are small. As for bringing guests, I'm not sure—I don't usually bring guests as I'm not too keen on that type of intimacy. I value my privacy too much. However, to use the elevator, you'll need the keycard. Perhaps someone else from the forum who has stayed at the Heritage and brought guests can provide more information.

Regarding the rates, it's 200 reais, but if you want the house specialty, the leite , it's better to ask in advance. Most likely, they will provide.

I will report details; I just need to rest and pick up my Plan B pill.😛 😇:p

Maybe the OP and I have different tastes, but I could not disagree more. (Disclosure: my taste is at least 5’10”/180cm, fit to muscular, 8”/20cm+, preferably handsome in a classic masculine way, and preferably willing to kiss and bbk, both passionately not reluctantly). Limiting consideration to Saunas alone, Rio is the runaway victor, if only on the strength of Tuesday nights at 117 alone. In the nearly 10 years I have been going to Brazil, I have never found Lagoa to be the equal of the Rio saunas, And now I find its decline to have been even more precipitous than the Rio saunas, to the point where most trips to Lagoa leave me wondering why did I bother (the answer being, of course, FOMO).

No discussion I have a Brazilian sexcation in 2024 can realistically limit itself to the saunas alone. The third leg, if you will, is surely garotoscomlocal. In my opinion, a visitor to Rio, at least on a Tuesday and a Wednesday (202) can have a great experience at the Sauna, and have no need to turn to the Internet. In São Paulo, by contrast, there is no such night for me. Yet, for most seasons of the year, I much prefer being in São Paulo and garotoscomlocal picks up Lagoa’s slack (arguably, indeed, it caused much of it) and  brings SP to near overall parity to Rio sexwise. I lament this transition and mourn the demise of face to face shopping, but for me, in São Paulo, it is nearly complete. In Rio, it may be weakened and reduced, but again, a Tuesday At 117 still has magic like nowhere else I know. And with that, if you will excuse me, it is 4:15 on a Tuesday, and I have places to go....
Thank you!

Thanks for both, you and OP

I am not a newbie, I have been to brazil quite a few times. All of my previous visits, I agree with you, 117 is the best for my taste too.

Just want to check how things going in 2024 in prep for my upcoming trip

Back in rainy NYC; it seems the rain followed me from Rio. I'm still tired from the long trip, so bear with me, my typos, and my skimpy reports. I will improve over time as I have a chance to rest. But overall, I love it, and I can't wait to come back.

My main recommendation, especially for newcomers or those unfamiliar with the city, is to download and keep offline all the addresses, maps, and locations that you want to visit before going to Rio de Janeiro. As I mentioned before, I had to buy a cheap phone. Thanks to previous posters, I was able to get a 1200 Rreals Motorola phone with Tim mobile that takes your passport number. I got it at my favorite shopping mall in Rio: the Shopping RioSul at Rua Lauro Müller, 116 - Botafogo.

In Rio, it was rainy all week and very humid. I'm not a beach person, and I get red and sore from excessive sun exposure, but I would have loved to have at least a couple of sunny days. I've been to most of the places I intended to visit.

Point 202 hasn't been my favorite; the layout, the paper-thin bedsheets, and the run-down appearance of that place have been a turn-off. or at least i did expect to lo look that way. I didn't go during any of the free cabin days because I didn't want to contend with cheap patrons for a cabin, so I skipped those days at both Point 202 and 117. Last night, Wednesday, I was at 117, and it was very slow. i may do a separate report.

Out of both of them, 117 has better installations, with two bars, one for the shows and one for the smokers. As with the rest of the saunas with GPs you get your locker and your sandals, walk around, get your drink, and start looking for the best boys. Also, I had a massage; in both, the Point 202 masseur was this cute Colombian boy, but in 117, they had better masseurs. Did I find hot boys in both places? Yes, but I don't think it was the best week for Rio. Maybe the Semana Santa influenced the situation, plus the heavy rain, so I will visit Rio next time.

I went to these places:

  • Sauna Rio G Spa: That sauna was pretty disappointing. It is so small and narrow that the type of clientele is not as hot as the reviews about gay Rio locations say it was and that it was closed to the gay area in Ipanema, or at least it wasn't the time I went. The bar is tiny. The second floor has some cabins that make\ t a dark room. I don't know if it was because of the days I went, but with so many other options, I did not it give it another try.\

  • Taurus Bar: https://x.com/TaurusBar?s=20 It only opens on weekends. I went on a Friday and Saturday, and it was okay. It is located in Rua da Lapa, 8 - Lapa, an area that people in Rio keep commenting is very popular with bars, but I only visited Taurus Bar and didn't see or find another place in that area. TB has two floors; you pay at the entrance and they give you a locker key but also a wristband. There's a small bar on the way to the lockers. Then, you climb the stairs to a second floor with plenty of public cabins and a back room that doesn't feel as claustrophobic as other dark rooms I've been to before. Also, not that many people were my age (late 50s), and I was the whitest of the white. Most people were late 20s to late 40s and very Latino-looking. Also, I didn't feel any rejection because of my age or my shape or skin color; quite the opposite, I had fun without paying, so that was a new one for me. If you want more details, let me know. I stayed only for an hour.

  • Seven Cruising Bar: So far, my favorite bar for just cruising with no GP, at least when I went, I think they may have interactives on Saturdays. I wish I had more time to explore it, but it's completely out of my way and closes at 10 pm, so since I was going to visit the GP saunas every, I went in the noon, and I liked it. It's a hidden location. I took some pictures from outside so you can get an idea.  Another narrow staircase leads the way up, then a tiny foyer to pay for the entrance and then get the locker. I followed what most people were doing: kept my sneakers and walked in underwear without a t-shirt and my big belly out. Out of the only cruising, not GP on-site, Seven Cruising bar has the best-looking people, even better looking than Rio G Spa. It has themes for each day. Look at the Twitter account.https://x.com/sevenbarbr?s=20 i didnt stay long either.

  • Rosa sex shop vs. Sex Rose: These establishments have similar and confusing names, with two locations. One is situated in a shopping center, with one on the 3rd floor. However, that one is only a sex shop, so I suggest skipping it. I mention this because most posts for cruising sites display the address as Av. Rio Branco, 156 - Store/Loja 344, but that's not the correct one. The correct location is in-store/ Loja 133 on the lower level of the mall. Similar to most other places, this one is pretty narrow with 3 or 4 cabins, and the patrons are mostly over 40.

The tricky part is that there is another Rose Shop called Sex Rose. I believe this other shop is the one that some other posters in the forum have mentioned. This one was hard to find for some reason, as the address got confused. However, it is located in the area called Cinelandia. It sits on a very narrow street that taxis will have a hard time navigating. This one is located next to an old movie theater called Cinema Rex, at Rua Alvaro Alvim 37. The other Rose shop is better; it is dark and has a lot of hallways. It has two floors; you pay 25 reals, and it is the typical maze with a bunch of cabins, most of them playing movies. If you want more details, let me know.

That is it, for now, coming soon part 2 or 3 lol. It is a lot to take in. I am not in the best shape, and the humidity took the fun out of my knees. But definitely the highlight, at least for me, is the GP saunas.

I enjoyed Taurus Bar because it doesn't clash with the GP sauna's schedule. As an older, out-of-shape white guy, I felt warmly welcomed. You know those inclusive sex parties in the United States that claim to be body-positive, but once you're there, you feel rejected and hardly anyone shows interest in you? Well, at Taurus Bar, I experienced true inclusivity; I felt like I was a part of the party just like anyone else. I can't recall if I mentioned this, but they have showers and there's a guy selling thongs, underwear, and swimsuits in the locker area—although I couldn't quite discern what he was selling. Overall, it's a fantastic place, and if I were younger or had more energy, I would be there every single night. As for downsides, it's only open on weekends—I think I visited on a Thursday because it was Holy Friday. However, I can't think of anything negative to say about the place. The gay lifestyle in Brazil is amazing. I tried to find a gay bar that wasn't a GP, but I couldn't locate any. Some people mentioned some, but I didn't come across any that were convincing or had the right hours.
