There is debate in the UK over 'dinner', or 'supper'. Supper seems to be the more upper class way of describing a light evening meal. The more down to earth description is 'I'm having my tea'!

I took a different route. I also had no money as a child,though, as it was the UK, support was available. I became a lawyer, and did well, and I then considered options. Mine is a children's home in Siem Reap, run by a dedicated Spanish lady, and Khmer staff. All the kids have been abandoned or sold, the majority sexually abused. I asked what I can do, and the result was that I sponsor some of the kids, each over a 10 year period. Glad to say first one, now 19, left the home, and is at University. These kids are the lucky ones.

10m a year is a very large amount, but dwarfed by many CEOs in the USA, sports stars, etc. Elon Musk? It's the system. Its also unfair to describe a businessman, working for a large public company as making money in a nefarious manner. People may correctly, disapprove of the methodology of Medical Insurance companies, but that it is a different point. If the USA had a National Health Service, which the Republicans consider anathema, these problems would not arise.

I also stayed there decades ago. I found I could not turn off the radio, in the bedside console. I summoned help. It turned out that the radio wires went through a hole in the wall to the next door room! The radio I could hear was from next door! You could see through! So much for the best hotel in the world. I changed rooms! Mind you in those days it was affordable, not now.
