This is so not my experience. I know at least twenty UK/Thai gay couples whose relationships are enduring and happy. I don't know one "bad experience with goldigger", but undoubtedly it happens, and perhaps it is more prevalent among those whose relationships never moved outside the Thai borders. That is, where genuine commitments were not made, and where there was a desperation and/or naivety on the part of the farang, who thought that they could buy a husband. I say forget the pre-nups. Don't you love him so much that you would share your wealth with him anyway?

Hi Schuft, Congratulations and good luck. If you didn't try to achieve this you would always wonder. I went into a similar situation after a long distance relationship. Like you I was aware that he might not adapt to local conditions(which in my case were unfortunately without any thai infrastructure), I was at work every day for long hours etc. But it was fine and we are still together twenty years later, and the large age gap remains a large age gap! So happy I took that risk, and what a fight we had for the early visas. All worth it a hundredfold.

I love guys who are glued to their foreskins.

Great report, very useful, thanks

Apologies for the post above! I seemed to have temporarily lost my ability to quote and comment in the same post, mea culpa! Feel free to delete. I think that sums it all up very well. It is sometimes surprising how efficiently a less accomplished linguist can use language. Anyway I loved it as a summary!

Most enjoyable reports. I was happy not to know about where you/we actually were, as it allowed all the focus to be on the relationship, on which you write entertainingly, and leaves the posts not cluttered up with the travel details. Perhaps a little travel detail summary only at the end of the journey, which i am looking forward to continue.

I'm not convinced! I think we need another photograph to prove it! -
Thanks for the feedback. When I go into a new area(relatively) I like to look like I know where I am going ! And when I read recommendations for venues I like to be able to work out exactly where they are, rather than wandering through an area looking for the promised land! Somebody recently did a great job of updating the new locations of the Patong area bars on a map, so I was hoping for the same for Pattaya, as new bars open and old ones close. The online Thai Puan map is a good starting point.

Can anyone recommend some Gay Pattaya maps that cover the area of Boyztown, Sunee and Jomtien. Been so long since I went there that it's all a little unclear to me, and there have been so many changes in the venues. Many thanks

When in Thailand I remember in the Bangkok Post Travel supplements often seeing special discounted local hotel rates that are only available to local residents, which would be Thai and Farang I assumed.

Very dry and entertaining report, thanks!

Where better to celebrate the year of the pig than in Pattaya. So much moo daeng on display.

Therefore the story is second hand, not first hand as you originally stated.

I was having drinks with a thai friend at a beer bar in Patong. The truck driver, who was an acquaintance of his, was passing by, and we invited him to join us for drinks. After several more drinks and some sweet talk, the three of us ended up back in my room!
-
I picked up a "straight" truck driver once in Thailand. When we were in the room he made it clear that he wasn't gay and no way was he going to suck cock. Once this was accepted he couldn't wait to bury his tongue in my ass! Go figure!

GWMinus provides an excellent list of books. Particularly recommend the books of Pira Sudham, about village life, which are I think fairly autobiographical.
-
It doesn't appear from your quote that the author is confusing Soi Twilight with Patpong, as it does indeed run off Surawong, in the entertainment district known as Patpong.
-
Try telling that to the Rohingya in Burma. Those peaceful Buddhists seem to be committing some horrific acts there.
-
Why is that a surprise?
-
Very entertaining and droll reports, thank you

This doesn't make sense. Why would anyone be upset by you liking the guys so much that you wouldn't kick any of them out of bed?

Bangkok/Yangon/Bagan/Mandalay Trip Report: Playing With Fire

Yes, Was really surprised not only that the oil wasn't washed off, but additionally that it was used as extra lube. I had always understood that was unsafe. Reports are great of course many thanks.
