That's it. End of discussion ? 🤣

Plenty of plastic surgery and not a muscle in sight 🤣

Or go to Rio if April vacation time is non negotiable.

If you go to ShamelessMackTwo, it's easy to pull up the posts about Hanoi. If you're using a laptop, the city categories should be on the left panel. If you're using a phone, then the city categories are at the bottom (you need to scroll down). Those posts are from a late 2024 visit to Hanoi; no guarantee that the mentioned shops are still operating. I look forward to your trip reports in due course.

Are you looking for free hookups? Or do you see yourself as past the sell-by date? If you're looking for erotic massages, then there are a few such shops in Hanoi, but I wouldn't describe them as "spas". "Brothels" would be more accurate. Twinks aplenty in them.

The quiet contributes to the deadly. That's a turn of phrase. I would not have thought of that analogy. 🤣

I don't know what you're hoping to see by way of "old type" Vietnam, but most of Hanoi is undergoing a major construction boom with skyscrapers shooting up with no regard for their neighbours. If you mean the Old Quarter of Hanoi then be prepared to have your toes run over by motorbikes. It's congested, over-touristed, noisy and stressful to walk through. In the Old Quarter, the pavements ("sidewalks" to people from Trumpland) are either non-existent or narrow. In any case, motorcyclists treat pavements as parking lots for their vehicles, forcing pedestrians onto the streets, where other motorbikes zoom past with only centimetres to spare, or they make a sudden turn and cross right in front of your feet. Their Facebook page is here: https://www.facebook.com/p6sauna I wonder if they have legit rights to many of the photos they've posted.

It does sound as if you do get my point. The "very dry" heat of Perth summer is the kind of low humidity (desert air) that cities in the Bangkok to Saigon belt don't experience. While the humidity in March and April in the latter cities is not as high as in the wet season, it's still palpable when compared to cities at the edge of deserts. That's why I described it as "medium high". OK, "medium" might be a better description. What you're also describing is the wind created by the temperature differential between inland and a huge ocean. The very hot desert air (50 degrees and more) tends to move, whereas in southeast Asia, the air is more likely to sit and cook. Agree about Japan (and much of China). Late June to late August is impossible for me too. What we need is a sex paradise somewhere like 10 to 15 degrees south of the equator for the midyear period. Perhaps northern Madagascar? I can't find climate data for northern Madagascar, but I can find data for Comoros Islands (12 degrees south). The coolest month there is August, with average day maximum 28 degrees and minimum 21 degrees. Sounds nice.

If you look at a map, you will see Bangkok, Phnom Penh and Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) roughly at the same latitude (10 - 13 degrees north). Many of us are familiar with Bangkok in April which, aside from the madness that is Songkran, is also unbearably hot (35 degrees and higher). Phnom Penh and Saigon would be similar, in the same way that Port of Spain (10 degrees north) and Barbados (13 degrees north) would be similar. In Southeast Asia, it's not just the temperature, it's also the humidity. Even in the dry months, humidity remains medium-high unless one is a considerable distance from the sea. Bangkok, Phnom Penh and Saigon are quite close to the coast. So 35 degrees is nothing at all like 35 degrees in Perth, Australia. For better temperatures in April -- warmish but not too hot -- look for a place about 20 - 30 degrees north. That means somewhere between Hanoi and Hangzhou (or Shanghai). However, the economics of sex in these rich cities would be quite different from that of the poor cities in Southeast Asia -- which may be an important consideration for you.

I would say yes.

"Tawanna" may be the more correct spelling. Not that I know Thai, so maybe those members who do can chime in. But it seems to me that in Thai, "tawan na" seems more likely to mean something than "tawan a". Sorry for going off topic...

Accomodation in Bangok when staying in Thailand for 2 months
macaroni21 replied to gytis123's topic in Gay Bangkok
Ah, I stand corrected. Trust Vinapu to know just about all the hotels in the general vicinity. The one in Suan Phlu I never went back to because it was rather inconvenient for public transport. -

Is this the one a hop, skip and jump from Chong Nonsi Station? (I believe there is another I-Residence in Suan Phlu, I vaguely recall on the same soi as Prince Massage.) I have stayed at both, maybe 10 - 15 years ago. I recall that the furnishings and interior of the Chong Nonsi one was rather tired and needed a refresh (and the main reason why I never booked again despite its great location). Can you tell us if this is still the case or if the interior and fittings have been updated? -
Would you ever consider an advanced sex doll? Yes, of course. Sure, it won't be exactly the same as doing it with another human (at least for now, even at present state of the art) but (assuming it is affordable) it will be of enough value in its own way. I know a lot of governments are concerned about falling birth rates and wondering how they can get more people to marry and have sex (ooops, I mean make babies). Taking the cue from this, lots of talking heads in media and pointy heads in academia are "concerned" about the younger generation not having sex, but frankly it's all muddled-headed thinking. Let's start with the governmental anxieties. If reproduction is such a national priority, then they should be investing in technologies that make reproduction possible without sex. Linking it to sex and also to marriage just makes the problem even more intractable. There is a scene in the novel Brave New World (Aldous Huxley) in which foetuses/babies are incubated outside of the womb. If we invest enough in research, this should be achievable. Once that reproduction problem is solved, whether or not people have heterosex is a totally separate issue and may not be all that important. If dating is medoukusai, then let all these horny straight guys (and gals) have sex dolls.

Agree, they will be quite happy to go with you to your hotel. Many will even have their own bikes; hope you're OK with riding pillion.

This is useful information. Thanks.

You will gladden the hearts of those members posting at the thread Did some forum members pass?, bemoaning the imminent demise of this board. 😂

Hmmm... you may have been walking Silom Road around Pulse Clinic or the stretch of Surawong opposite Raya Hotel. Maybe this blogpost (especially Map C) will help.

As others have said, non-hunks are plentiful outside the shops along Surawong Road opposite the Meridien, and along Silom Soi 6. You seem to be saying that you have walked those stretches and only saw service providers closer to your mother's age. It makes me wonder if the problem is that your understanding of the word "twink" is different from that of many others on this board. Might you be very young yourself, e.g. barely 21, in which case "twink" might mean someone your age or younger, like 18? Take a look at the three boy pics from K-man Spa on my blogpost A bit of help for newbies: tipping for massage. Do they qualify as twinks to you? Or are they closer to your mother's or uncle's age? It's a common mistake on this board to refer to Soi Thantawan as Soi 6. The map provided by @hank75 should make it clear that Silom Soi 6 is the short stretch between Silom Road and Prime Massage. Soi 6 does not touch Surawong Road, so when people say "between Patpong and Soi 6", it can confuse.

I don't often come to this forum on Colombia, and if I do, I have nothing to add. However, I feel compelled today to commend @Tantric and @macdaddi for an extraordinary example of clarity, both in phrasing the questions and in replying. You've set a very high bar for the rest of us, and demonstrated the value that the best of GayGuides can be.

I am surprised that a well-travelled person like @floridarob is asking this question. Haven't you encountered the term "mobile phone" before? "Cellphone" is used in the USA and, as I vaguely recall, Canada (perhaps a member from Canada can confirm?), but across Europe, Asia, Africa and Australasia, it is "mobile phone". In Spain it is "telefono movil", and I believe it is the same term used in Spanish-speaking Latin America (I may stand corrected). Google translate says it is "celular" in Brazil, but "telemovel" in Portugal. The Japanese term 携帯電話 (Geitaidenwa) also translates literally to mobile phone "Handphone" is a usage I have only ever encountered in Singapore and Malaysia, and it has struck me as a direct translation of the term I hear in China "手机" (shouji) which literally means "hand phone". However, I remember seeing on an Indonesian-language poster the term "telepon genggam", which is also a direct translation of "hand phone". But surely, in this day and age when the landline telephone is virtually obsolete, the simpler term "phone" will do when referring to the hand-held device?

I'm coming to this thread late, but what a tale! Indeed, very relieved for @spoon too that the phone came back. After a couple of near-misses regarding phones many years ago, I have determinedly made myself acquire some better habits. I choose trousers with pockets -- as many as possible -- and my habit now is that my phone is always in one particular pocket, unless I take it out to read/send messages. It goes back into the pocket immediately after. It's a front pocket, not a back pocket - which is possibly the worst place to put one's phone. Not only will the phone be easily lifted out by a thief, one needs to take it out of the back pocket each time one sits down... and leave it on a table, car seat or somewhere else. In Thailand, an additional problem is the power bank. I find that I need to have one with me when I am out and about for most of the day (and maybe into the evening). Fortunately, I tend to go about with a backpack, so there's space for that too. Another point brought up earlier in the thread is that of how others take notes for trip reports. In my case, I dictate into my voice recording app on my phone. I do this several times a day, e.g. when I am walking out of a massage shop; that way I make a record of prices, tips, names, even bits of conversation before I forget. The app generates a transcription, which I can, even days later, copy-and-paste to build a report. I realise however that dictating into a recording app is an acquired skill; many people, I notice, can't do it. The skill involves being able to dictate in complete sentences with clear diction, with content delivered in a coherent narrative order. That way, after downloading the transcript, one does not have to do much more than light editing. I credit my managerial training in my younger days for that skill, having had to dictate fairly long letters to my secretary. It may be a lost art, by now.

I think the reason is neither of the above. I think many are aware of the escort review forum, but unaware of the covenant. I think the absence of reviews with personal identifiers is simply because members simply don't want to post such reviews. They likely think it's just too crude. Sure, transactional sex is commodifying in itself, but that doesn't mean one cannot draw a line somewhere and still offer the service provider a fair degree of respect. Anatomical characteristics and in-bed services can be sensitive, and people may feel that just because we bought their services, it does not give us a right to broadcast all such details. It's quite a laudable position to take. It shows that forum members here instinctively accord the service provider basic dignity due to another human.
