in right circumstances straight guy may bottom for you. One advertising himself as "man" most likely won't. One labelled  ' top only'  almost certainly won't.

I don't see them using the term "straight". They use "gay" and "man". Depending on the business establishment or context, "gay" suggests either someone who is effeminate to some degree or other, or someone who bottoms. "Man" means straight-acting or someone who does not bottom. The term won't tell you much about his sexual orientation.

The Thai way of seeing things is to describe gender behaviour, not attraction.

Yes exactly  from Thai point of view 'gay' means passive or feminine guy (not lady boy who considered to be a third gender in Thailand ), 'man' means active gay , straight or bisexual who won't bottom.

For Western clients it might be very confusing.

But there are others who are "gay man" who are gay but are also tops. 

 

But then there is also "straight man" who prefers to bottom.

 

It's quite simple when you get the hang of it.

I spend more than my share of time in these shops. Most have an on-line presence and all but one that I’m aware of place their guys into two categories: “top” or “top & bottom” (commonly referred to as “T” and “T&B”). In one popular shop, I’ve seen “straight” heading up the category of tops on the shop’s. Tablet.  Although I’ve never seen “man”, I have frequently had boy say “I am man.” 

One Spa, the newest of the shops, assigned number 220 to its most recent staff addition. Although some of the original guys have since moved on, the shop can boast of most numbers followed by KK Massage just down the road. Since they’re all free agents, many appear on both rosters.

As I wind down this visit, a few observations on these shops.

First, I would generally reject manger/mamasan recommendations. I’ve accepted them three times over the past few trips and all were disappointing. My advice is to review the offerings on line and decide on a list of your top three. You can choose to reserve via Line or phone (never been asked for deposit on same day request) or simply choose on arrival. If mamasan says “he not work today but how about this one?”, I’d move on to my next choice. If you exhaust all three of your picks, I’d consider using tablet or moving on to another shop.

Most shops open at 11a.m. but many of the boys are still sleeping or working other job. I think best time to come is mid afternoon. Your chances of getting your choice in fresh condition are improved.

Coming from Saphan Kwai, only One Spa is on left side of road. All others on right are BT House, KK Massage and Home Spa.

Happy New Year message from KMan Massage's Twitter account. Nice to see that the shop treats its employees well!

Home Spa is the last massage shop on the road before passing under the expressway and only a few minutes walk beyond KK Massage. It generally operates like the other independent (free agent) shops in Saphan Kwai but usually has a larger cadre of guys on hand in a "resting" room.

For the mobility impaired, it has rooms and showers on the street level.

With this shop I'd recommend reserving a guy of your choice rather than trying your luck on arrival.

I'm glad you appreciate the map that I have drawn, and yours is a good question that gives me a chance to explain the editorial policy behind the blog and its contents.

To answer your specific question first, about the others that are left out ..... I have read about 27M massage near Inthamara 27, Home Massage about 100 metres short of the Vibhavadi Rangsit expressway, and 15M massage a bit NW of Exit 3 of Saphan Khwai.  But 
(a) they are outside the boundaries of my map;
(b) I have not verified their locations personally.

My general policy for my blog is that what I say is based on personal observation and verification. It is not supposed to be a compendium of the many different things said by others. In the occasional post, I may refer to something reported by others. When that happens, I make that abundantly clear in the text. For maps, if I haven't verified its existance, it is not there. You will notice that I try to take a picture of a shop's front, as sort of proof it is real and that I saw it for myself.

The drawback of such a policy is that the blog and its maps may omit places that I don't know about or haven't verified (it becomes under-inclusive). The upside is that I do not risk including things based on hearsay, e.g. resulting in the location marked wrongly.

Of course, it would be great if others likewise build their own maps.

There's only one way to find out: call ahead and try.

Just like any other shop that handles free agency guys.

Alternative: walk over to Silom Soi 6 and you'll find 75+ guys who are definitely on site.

No, I said "tops and bottoms". You said "top and bottom." I can see how you got confused.

I agree, however, that "versatile" would be a perfectly acceptable alternative. While you're in town you may want to mention it to managers in the SK shops. Or maybe get them to consider what mamasans in the go-go bars prefer: "does everything." 🙂

Side is quite simply not into buttsex. So we find other things to enjoy
