That is good to hear! Perhaps it only affect a few rooms. I have an upcoming trip and was considering this hotel.

I have read before that the Tawanna (I think that was the former Ramada) taken over by another hotel chain (IHG) and will reopen as voco Bangkok Surawong in 2025 after a major renovation

Le Siam,

Some of the staff at Le Siam have been there for many years and I always consider this to be a good sign. I'm a regular there and the sad thing is that it has not yet fully recovered from the covid era, in so far as the restaurant is not really open and serves only a set breakfast for a few customers. Talking to staff, they were unhappy that during covid it was used as a short time hotel and the rooms mistreated. I am aware of probably a dozen porn movies that were filmed there during 2020-21 since the rooms are very recognisable. I don't think they ban joiners but after booking a room for two people, that would be very unlikely. The location is unbeatable being close to Dala Daeng BTS and so forth.

Someone took a lot of trouble to put the joiner question to numerous hotels. Silom area hotels are below and need scrolling. But that's also when one notices defunct hotels like Om Yin Lodge, Tawana, etc. It's always difficult keeping such information lists up to date.

It would probably be easier and shorter to just list the hotels that are NON-gust friendly, as almost all the hotels in those areas mentioned in the article tend to be very liberal when it comes to having guests in your room. I would also specify when mentioning an hotel, if a key is required for the elevator or not. Pretty much, do you want the guy to come straight to your room or you don't mind pick him down at the lobby.

I would also add Pullman and W Hotel (this one popular especially with Asian gay travelers) in the list of "gay-friendly" hotels, which I guess means an hotel were a good part of the crowd is gay. If so, during NYE or Songran pretty much every hotel in Silom becomes one.

I can't add anything recent, but I stayed at the Siam Heritage on my first trip in 2006. Very strict no joiners policy there at the time. I was staying there during the coup that knocked Thaksin out of office and they would not allow my tour guide in that night when things were pretty chaotic.

I like to stay at the Furama Silom 10 minutes walk from Patpong. no problems with guests you can just bypass the reception straight to the elevator. Spacious rooms (better to book their suprier rooms at the higher floors ) nice rooftop pool and decent buffet breakfast.

Even before becoming a Ramada it was a Holiday Inn! I stayed once and discovered it permitted joiners but there was a cashier at the lifts and if you had not pre-booked a twin room, you were charged for an extra person before you could take your boy du jour up to your room. Oddly no-one seemed to mind in those days.

I know that in the past, it charged a joiners fee, but I believe it has changed,

Ibis Styles Silom is modern, and was fine but the rooms were small.  No issue with guests.

Furama had nice large rooms but a bit of a walk ~12min from the action but a pleasant walk or quick tuk tuk.  Agree with poster about only going for the executive rooms but still very affordable.

Siam Heritage Hotel -- I just stayed there on the tail end of last trip I booked a room for 2 with breakfast through Agoda. At cheek-in I was alone but was issued two keys, even through I was unaccompanied.

I had no problem bringing in ST guests. However, if you bring a guest to breakfast, hotel will require that the guest register .And that can be the only guest you can register during your stay. (since I had booked room for 2, I was not charged any additional fee).

On the desk of my room there was a notice that stated that any guest would be assessed a 900 baht fee. It was the same notice that was there about 15 years ago when I last stayed at this place.

The rooms are well equipped with comfortable bed, excellent shower for 2 and quiet AC. Ask for a room in the bak that are more distant from noise of Surawong. Small pool and fitness center on top floor (9).

Montien Hotel -- Of the hotels mentioned above, I believe the only one with no-guest policy is the Montien. It has a new wing and draws mainly upscale Chinese and Thai-Chinese clientele.

Amara Hotel -- No problem at all with guests. Great rooftop pool with plenty of lounge chairs if that's important. Recommended.

I have read on this forum that Siam Heritage does not allow joiners. 

No problems whatsoever with 56 Suriwong and Le Siam, my experience is recent ( 2022 and 2023). 

Member I met in Feb stay in Amara and did not have any problem either landing in his room even guy whom he met in the elevator.

My sentiment exactly. I frequently stay at the Amara and like it very much. No one has ever even hinted disapproval regarding my, ahem, numerous guests.

I stayed at Siam Heritage and the manager told me no charge for a joiner. And I wasn’t. I was real impressed with the architecture there. I’ll definitely stay there again.

Stayed at 56 Surawong and they said no joiner fee, and none charged. I brought the cute twink J from jomtien complex there. Well I ran into him walking around there.

I usually stay at Tarntawan but as a walk in it was too expensive.
