Previously, when trump won the presidential race but lose the popular vote, everyone questioned the electoral vote system. This time around, he won both. Cant blame the system now for Harris' lost. Its clear that majority of Americans who voted, didnt vote for her. 

Instead, democracy system itself becomes the target. If majority of the citizens/voters, are criminal, they will vote the most evil to the top, and vice versa. And not to forget, the options the americans are left with, to choose lesser between two evils one might say. For some, who already made their mind, the choice might be obvious, but if you are on the fence, its a sophie's choice at its greatest. 

All im saying is, when the results are out, its better to look forward and analysed what really happened. For me, its clear that the republicans, with trump as the lead, are more successful in convincing those who are on the fence, to vote for them. Democrats played their women card one too many, and lived in their own bubble too, failing to even see the possibilities of a huge losses in several key states, convinced that no voters in their right mind will vote for trump. But well, they did.

Another group that one might want to analyze are the new voters, those who were below 21 during last elections. These are the young ones, mostly university students, who are seen protesting the current government on their frivolous defence spending in middle east tension. While republican might still do the same, as we have seen in the past, both sides has been quite consistent who they ally with, the fact that the worst yet war there happened during Democrats watch definitely affects their vote.

We have huge inflation now, and the Dems refused to acknowledge this. The people cannot afford homes. I understand their anger. 
 

Plus Biden has dementia or something, and this was hidden. Not good. Don’t forget Clinton had sex with an intern, so we’re used to this.

 Just for your information, inflation has been a big problem in Europe and in other parts of the world during the last years after Covid. It has not been an American problem only but a global issue. I believe that in the US, people do not really look what is happening around the world but are only caring about what is happening at home.

Presidents have little power over inflation or the economy.  Trump won't change much unless he really does go full tariff and our economy tanks in a trade war.

Fortunately for me, the republicans solution to all problems is tax cuts for the rich and businesses.

I'll do great. Those who think he's going to save them, not so much.

People want change. They may decide the status quo wasn't so bad when the house burns to ground.

Thats why trump is a genius in his own twisted world. He managed to convince the poor that by making the rich richer, theyll be better. Hard to do that with a str8 face.

I wholeheartedly share your frustration with outcome but it’s in rear view mirror now. I have much more important things I want to do in my life than brood on it.

As Floridarob and others pointed out, Dems took high road and fell off cliff. They were simply outplayed and outmaneuvered.

As for Trump’s appointments, would not be shocked to see some pushback from Senate republicans on some confirmation votes, Gaetz in particular.

The inflation is global due to the pandemic and as far as I know, Biden did some bill called the inflation reduction bill and it worked. US inflation was low among G7 countries. I don't know how is that called Biden refused to acknowledge this.

Another thing I heard a lot among Trump voters is the tariff.

It seems that they don't understand how tariffs work. Many interviewees said foreign countries pay the tariff. I was like???? and they believe the tariff will benefit the economy and help the inflation???????

Negative news is always  easier to sell. And as Dr Goebbels said, if you say something  often enough, people will believe it. Especially on issues like immigration,  where a lot of people  want to believe it. Same over here in UK, during Brexit debate. Britain  for the British, take back control etc. Relentless negative campaigning works!

It didn't help that Biden was embarrassingly timid in dealing with the deranged and psychopathic Netanyahu.  The genocide and US support for it may not have been decisive but the world's super-power being treated with such contempt by a country that it has funded, excused and cossetted for decades was not a good look.
