both of you are right, in Slavic languages "Russian", 'Czech' , "Tatar " etc means ethnicity thus Hungarians in Romania, Turks in Bulgaria  or Germans in Poland are still described as  Hungarians, Turks  or Germans even if living there since medieval times.

If somebody with name Zhou En Lai wins Nobel Price in chemistry  or Olympic gold in marathon for country like say ,Mexico, Ireland or Belgium will be feted as country's  most treasured  asset and pride.

As for " must go"  it obviously depends of whom or what one likes but if you did not  do it yet, try Jey Spa in sukhumvit soi 43 and Senso in Sala Daeng. .

Morning without breakfast with my Boy of Last Night in Foodland Patpong feels like church without God. G'Bangkok in soi 4 is grat feeding and people watching place , specially between 8.30-9.30 when Jupiter boys are rushing to work.

Looking for changes since 2022 you will find Sol bar in Patpong 2 , in old Dreamboy's location
