I fully support your point remembering my first visit back in 2001. Somehow I was told tip is 2000 but did not catch ST / LT distinction. Still remember happy sound of boy getting that much after 1 hr of mutual squeezing in the Suriwong short term rooms. Obviously, as closing thread attests, is not as normal as you think. I did not see any disagreements and it was fascinating to see how steam builds up over cold water. Merely suggestions that there are other ways of improving lot of boys than fucking them and paying them generously or that offering substandard rate may come from other reasons than just being cheap were taken as hostile and as raised in Cheap Charlies defense. At times parents are throwing toys to kids and when play becomes too noisy they are taking it from them. Closing threat brought me this cherished memories of time long gone. Firecat is nice and generous guy. He was just looking for 100% support and getting 99 was not good enough, we failed and were cut off. Not everybody lives in New York and is used to 300$ rates. 3. it could be inconsiderate farang just testing the market without any intention of paying that little. After all almost everybody stated that they are paying more then going rate if service is more than minimum. It's why we have newbies asking about tips all the time because they just don't know. Not everybody offering 30 baht for 200 baht t-shirt is making mockery of the seller . People just want to establish going rate and pay what is acceptable to both sides. YES, PERSON PAYING BOY 400 BAHT FOR SHORT TIME IS A CHEAP PRICK but really who is against ?, only dissenting voices are in respect of extend to which boy is free to reject stupid offer or forced to accept it by circumstances. I support firecat's rant raised in noble cause and all names he threw at those cheap skates. I like the boy as stated several posts above and I'm glad that he found such a generous farang like you. But I have some doubts if whole issue deserved so much heat under the collar. Of course offering less than accepted rate is taking advantage of situation but this is what market is for. I have no doubts that with poor rental market boy paying 3000 / month would not have any reservations about asking landlord for reduction to 2000 knowing that most rooms in the residence are empty. Fair? no, taking advantage of situation? yes. Would I condemn boy ? no. Would you? I doubt. Yes , customers offering such a low rates are not fair but this was just an offer. Boy can accept , refuse or try to negotiate better rate. Real taking advantage of would be if price was agreed and reduced after the deed and this would be humiliating part. Yes if we want to have them available we need to support boys, bars , massages etc. otherwise they will be gone. Cheap skates should be condemned and shamed to be more generous for that self-serving reason. But at end of day it's up to boy to decide if offer is worthwhile to consider or better be ignored . Clearly he was not happy since he complained to you but when you with your promise to top up what you already deservedly gave him will be gone he may decide from time to time that low rate is still better than none. And day may come when he notices spark in client's eye and suggest 2000 ST hoping that spark comes from another type of heat under the collar or somewhere else not paying any attention to going rate of 1000.

No doubt some of those climbers would say the same about experience of sleeping with boy half of our age we so cherish. It's good we humans are so diversified which helps to keep many talented people in employment.

Intimidated by Arena? This certainly I'd like to know why unless it was your first place to visit , than I understand, I had the same many years ago in the same building. It was place named HIS, long gone. I tried 3 times with pumping heart and finally made great step inside , never regret to this day. I personally consider Arena friendliest of all massage places in BKK although their way of selecting can be intimidating with all those boys smiling at you. I hope you will like Banana as well, I like it for 4 reasons , boys are at distance so not as intimidating , owner/mamasan Kevin very informative / don't be shy tell him you are looking for a bottom /and not pushy, boys seem to be well trained in the massage and Tao there is probably best masseur I ever had, Wat Po trained and it shows.

Usually we probably no but usually we get a bit more personalized service from taxi drives than from bus drivers or train conductors. That's true that North Americans are spoiling it for rest of the world but this is what it is. Their culture is tipping one so they tip, others from not tipping places will be waiting to get 3 baht change when paying 97 baht fare with 100 baht banknote. I don't see it as problem in Thailand where one is rarely pressured to tip / go-go etc exempted /. I personally leave them with change if meter used but would not tip one where fare is negotiated.

Very good report, short and up to the point That's extremely rare, unwashed boy, I had such a displeasure once but .can't even remember when and where. for bad breath I always carry small bottle of Listerine with me in my day pack and if boy is showering with me I offer use to him. If I sense body odor I'd not be shy to invite boy to take a shower, preferably with me. As for top/bottom question my experience is that is asked rarely , they probably expect guest to rise a question if that's relevant although reason for that may be that I make my pick up decisions very fast so not much time for mamasan to even ask. As for your Hero experience you not only one who thinks boys there are too fast to go to the point, specially if you state your top/bottom preference they think this is what you came for so why bother with massage.
