No sign of an election in Pattaya apart from no alcohol being served till 12 midnight. I think it will do many of the farang inhabitants good to give their livers a welcome rest

I hope for a lot of things but one thing I don't bother hoping for is that any group here (including Suthep's followers and minders, the Democrats, Peua Thai, and half a dozen other groups) will "sort out their differences."  That just ain't gonna happen anytime let alone in the next few months.  A military coup would calm things down for a while (until after the next election, of course) but I simply can't imagine any reconciliation or accommodation by any of them.  You've got a better chance to win the lottery in my view.

I've too have received the government warnings (heck, about 5 or 6 in the last three weeks from the US government), read the Bangkok Post here almost every day, and see the Thai tv news on occasions; however, none of that means any practical difference for those here in Chiangmai (or Pattaya or Phuket, etc.).  I'm guessing some tourists in Bangkok are being inconvenienced by traffic screw-ups but, other than that, I actually haven't heard of a single non-Thai being harmed at all.

For those flying into Swampy and then heading on to other locales, I'd worry more about jet lag and off fees than what "could" happen with the Bangkok protests. But, given we all have different comfort levels, up to you (as I'm sure you heard many times over here before).

Probably shouldn't worry as the anti-government groups haven't even hinted that they might repeat the 2006 PAD idiocy of occupying the airport.  I'm guessing (and would hope) that you've actually not incurred even a minor inconvenience during your present trip and, presuming you head back to the Suvarnabhumi from Pattaya at the end of your trip, you very likely won't even see anything out of the ordinary.  Have fun on your current trip and, as the old Bobby McFerrin tune goes:  Don't worry, be happy.

Nothing much at all has happened so far (probably less than the average number of murders in Bangkok per week) and no tourist or falang in my view needs to concern himself/herself at all with what's happening.  I might have mild concern if I was hanging around the protestors in Bangkok or, perhaps, hanging around with the people in the few areas of the South where they're somewhat blocking voting stations;  other than that, there's zero concern anywhere else in the whole country and tourists and falang ought to respond in the same way the whole country responded to the 2006 coup (that being: a collective yawn).

Up here in Chiangmai, the Reds are usually preaching briefly in the evening at a small stage set up at Chang Phuak gate but nothing else is happening.  I'd guess there is about the same level of excitement (meaning "none") in Pattaya too.

Why anybody who allegedly is living in Pattaya is sending out "sky is falling" messages is beyond me.  I can't even conjure up a yawn up here in the boonies (Chiangmai).

Even if it were true that 'thousands of Bangkokians are fleeing to Pattaya' - Greater Bangkok has some 10-15 million residents, of course there's a certain (low) percentage that's prone to panic. That's to be expected. At the same time, most Bangkokians go about their daily business as usual. Neither the shutdown nor the government's response to it have led to major disruptions so far. I'm saying that as someone who has been working here during this time, not merely watching people destroy police signage on TV and getting all worked up about it, and of course I've been talking to both Thai and foreign acquaintances here in Bangkok as well.

It doesn't help us to discuss the 'what ifs' as if they were fact, or as if there were only one way this story could go. Sure, many things can happen, but they might as well not.

SpermAholic, with all due respect, you remind me of Harold Camping, that guy who predicted the Rupture not once, but twice. I'd love to read what you had to write about the 2008 and 2010 situations back then - I'd bet you predicted a civil war back then already. So this time around might be your third time. Let's hope you're wrong (again?).

Ok so woke up early this morning and feeling Horny so first I checked on Jack'd .  There was my spiky haired, torn jean boy from a few posts ago and also one of the boys in the 3some.  Anyways what I love about him is if he is online early in the morning he is ready willing and able to have SEX.   Twenty minutes later he was in my room and taking a shower.

I pounded him into submission and sent on home to sleep after a very long day of Toyboys with a customer, Disco and then me in the morning. Oh to be 19 again and have my resources.  LOL

It was a beautiful sunny clear air morning with temp barely 68 F.  So I went for a walk on the water side of Beach Rd.  The boys are out setting up the chairs and coolers but really surprised me were all the big speed boats being load up with Chinese and Koreans for a trip to Ko Lahn I would imagine.

This town is thriving because of Russians, Chinese and Koreans.  The Chinese spend some time in the Xrated shows in Boystown but otherwise I don't think these groups bring much revenue to the GayBars.

While walking down Beach Rd I noticed the fairly new LK Empress Hotel and a sign for a 190 baht buffet.  This place has a beautiful dining room looking out on the water and the Buffet was very good especially considering the price which was 190 baht including tax and no service added.  Lots of juices, cereals, yogurts. An omelette station.  Long table with fried eggs, beans , potatoes , sausages etc etc etc. The other side of the table was loaded with chicken, pork, spaghetti  etc etc.

Even have an automatic pancake machine. You push a button and 1 minute later it delivers 2 small pancakes .

The only thing missing was bacon which I love but hard to beat the value of what is offered in a beautiful setting with everything spotlessly clean.  I neglected to take photos of the Buffet ( what was I thinking)  but I did take photos of my walk down Beach Rd at 730am.

Just out of curiosity, how do you 'swallow the jizz' while 'playing safe with condoms'? At first glance, these two don't seem to go together. Am I missing something?

Regarding your questions, I firmly believe that everyone should do what they like most, with the usual disclaimer 'as long as you don't hurt anyone'. I don't use the term 'faggot' myself and I'm not really into such labels. Unlike others here, it doesn't bother me that (some of) your posts are quite explicit, but if a forum such as this one is the best venue to look for guys to have sex with is another question. I'd daresay that most readers on here are 'rice queens' to at least a high degree, never mind what I just wrote about labels. That would include myself, I haven't had any sexual encounters with 'farang' guys or transgenders since moving to Thailand. Not because I don't fancy them at all, but because I fancy Thai guys more and there's no lack of them here.

That was my point! You made the situation in Bangkok sound like we're in Kiev.

There have been travel warnings and 'the worst is yet to come' / 'on the brink of civil war' predictions repeatedly ever since I moved to Bangkok (in 2006). I agree that it's better to err on the side of caution, and the advice you've given to travelers makes perfect sense. But as far as describing the current situation is concerned, I think you went way over the top by calling it 'riots'.

Funny thing, it is me who insists on showering together and some boys are not very fond of idea claiming they are shy.
For me this is an indication that things may not work well.

I agree about not wanting to eat being good indicator that things may be rushed.

Only cure for those debacles  I found is to off for long time which I almost always do.. It brings own set of problems but at least is indication for boy that rushing things will not work.

Thing working well to prevent immediate  undressing is to compliment them that they look very sexy in their t-shirt, jeans or briefs. Always I tell them that it will be my pleasure to help them to undress and it is !

Thai boys like to be told they are beautiful so lie to your advantage even if thy are not  since this is nice lie with no harm done.

Come on, please! "The riots getting so out of hand" is how I'd describe what has been happening in the Ukraine in the last couple of weeks. It doesn't describe the situation here. In Bangkok so far, there has been precious little rioting. Protesters blocking roads and thereby causing inconvenience, yes. Rioting, not really.

As for the isolated incidents of violence (shootings and grenade attacks in particular), and who has instigated them, I'd be very careful to believe any claims, no matter which camp they come from. Truth is often stranger than fiction, that much is certain.

The latest round of arrest warrants for Emergency Decree violations was denied by the Criminal Court, but as there are other warrants out for the same protest leaders already, they're still facing arrest all the same. Not attempting to arrest them is probably a clever thing to do, however, at least for the time being.

I fully agree on Khun Abhisit, he was really handed a big fat chance to endear himself to the populace at large, when the premiership was handed to him on the proverbial silver platter, and he was a complete and utter failure in that respect. Things could look much different now, had he succeeded.

The boy with the spiky hair and torn jeans from Jack'd sent me a message that he had a friend. Would I like to do a 3 way.  Usually this means the boy asking wants to have Sex with the other boy and make money at the same time. A good deal.

Of course I said yes but first I needed to see a photo of the new boy. A few hours later he posted the photo on his jack'd profile and I said SURE!

They came over and after I did them both I told then to do each other which they were more then happy to do.  Love having a live porn show in your bedroom!!

I asked if I could take photos and they said anything I like, most of which I can't post here. LOL

That depends on age of the buffalo. Maybe 20, 000+ Baht for a mature one or much less for a calf.

I found the original post intelligent, wry and entertaining.  There is enough truth here to make this an appropriate stereotype for many Thai young men, but like all stereotypes, it is not true for all Thai boys. Even in the USA there are younger men who like older without money being the main rationale behind the attraction.  Over the years I have met some of these couples and can say there is more then one reason for some younger men liking older.  Thailand is no different, and while financial security may play a bigger role here, it is still not the only role, nor the only reason while some older men do find younger men who are really happy with the relationship and genuinely care for the older man.

nothing wrong with your post, like with every posts there some who like it , some  who don't and rest which  doesn't care.

No need to panic if somebody is critical.
I'd say is better is posters respond with critique than don't respond at all.

Be kind to fellow posters, no need to like posts but no need to name calling them either.

I found OP pretty close to reality.
Once in the bed with boy exclaiming " I lub you" I pointed at his soft at the time dick and told him ' liar" - we both had a good laugh.

On another hand when in the middle of the night boy waked up, kissed me with " I like you" , turned back  to his sleep in previous position I took it for a face value and rewarded him nicely with extra tip and quite a few off in the future even if I generally butterfly.

IF the election were postponed, the registration for the Feb 2 election would be null and void (since a new Royal Decree would be issued), so candidates could then register countrywide. This would only make sense, obviously, if some kind of a compromise can be hammered out that would lead to the Democrat Party's participation; otherwise postponing would probably just lead to the same result later.

I don't agree that the Court's ruling isn't substantial. It clarified that neither the caretaker government nor the EC can be held responsible for violating the constitution if they agree to postpone the election, and that they share the responsibility to make that decision. That IS a significant clarification.

Indeed, pronouncing English/foreign terms the same as Thais pronounce them does help a lot. When in Rome...

It's often not much different in the US, by the way. I remember visiting Miami Beach many years ago, and the hotel I staid at was the Fontainebleau Hilton. Hailing a cab at the airport, I pronounced it like any educated member of society would do (French). Unfortunately, the cabbie would have none of it, and after quite some back and forth, he exclaimed "Fountain Blue!" and that was that. Not much different from some of my experiences in Bangkok in the early days.

Pronunciation can be a big issue as well, between Thai and farang. I once stayed at the Glitz Hotel in BKK. I took a cab from the airport. The driver had a hell of a time getting me to where I wanted to go. When we finally found the hotel, it dawned on me that Thainglish pronunciations are decidedly different, so I asked the desk clerk what the name of the hotel was and he said "Gleece." After that, I just told taxi and tuk tuk drivers I wanted to go to the Gleece hotel and there was never any hesitation. If you don't have the location printed in Thai, best to know how Thais pronounce the word, not how farang pronounce it.
