  1. No, it just may change who is doing the hunting.
  2. Like Vinapu, I always found Bangkok first was better for me. It probably depends how much sight seeing you plan on doing during the day. I always found after 4 or 5 days in Bangkok that I was ready for a more chill time in Pattaya. Also, I tend to spend a lot more in Bangkok than Pattaya so My budget always works better that way. Each to their own though. I have, on occasion done Bangkok -Pattaya - Bangkok and that works well too.
  3. I went for 3 weeks in Oct 15 and there was noticeably more rain than November when I usually go. It still wasn't bad though 20 minutes of heavy rain but mostly sunny the rest of the times though some cloudy days also. Not been in September but would Guess hotter and wetter again.
  4. I've bottled it a bit. I'm spending the first 8 days in Chiang Mai then 12 days in Patts. I figure in future each time I go I'll try somewhere new the first week or 10 days and then somewhere familiar for the rest.
  5. 1) Prostitution is also illegal in Thailand and I don't see everyone getting wound up about that. 2) If you think that taking pictures is the only way to get images on your laptop/iPad, etc then you are incredibly naive. Simply browsing web sites will result in the images from those sites being cached on your system unless your settings prevent this. 3) Is it really not possible on this site any more for a thread to not degenerate into a slanging match?
  6. Cost-wise is Phuket at the Bangkok or Pattaya end of pricing or does it fall in the middle?
  7. Next visit, rather than the usual mix of Bangkok and Pattaya, I'm hoping to see other places in LOS. I've already planned to start my holiday by spending a week in Chiang Mai. Anyone know of any other places worth spending a week or so? Preferably somewhere with a beach and at least one M2M massage place is a must.
  8. The poster implied that something untoward still happened.

    Belly fat

Unless you are drinking tea pint for pint with beer, the beer will have more water. As for bringing you much closer to an animal, I've always missed them brewing up in the wild. That being said I rarely drink beer or tea. With the boys I can't say I like a 6 pack. Would much rather a more natural, less chiselled look.
  10. The only witch hunt here appears to be your unnatural fixation on other people's lives. The "holier than thou" attitude seems very much like the people who come knocking at the door to convert me to one sect or another. How other people live there lives is simply none of your business and fixating on them and commenting on areas of their lives you have no clue about is frankly disturbing.
  11. Thank you Numazu for your updates which are enjoyable to most. Thank you Scooby for ridding the topic of the negativity. As for promiscuity, I enjoy being promiscuous and will continue for as long as I am able. For large parts of my life I could not indulge often due to gay sex being against military regulations. Now, I thoroughly enjoy meeting many different partners both at home and on holiday in Thailand. People can call it what they like since I really don't give a shit what anyone else thinks. I call it having a good time.

    Belly fat

I didn't say the definition of vain and self-centred was an obsession with body fat in others. I said that, in my opinion, most people who do obsess about body fat in others tend to be vain and self-centred themselves.

It isn't a one to one relationship. You don't have to be vain or self-centred to obsess about others body fat or your own. My own observation though is that most people who do obsess about their own or others body fat do have one or both of those characteristics. That isn't people who care about it, it's those that obsess about it. I couldn't care less if people want to obsess about their own bodies or weight. Inflicting those opinions on others though is simply none of their business.

    Belly fat

I tend to find most people obsessed with belly or other fat in others are those more likely to be vain and self-centred.
  15. Probably depends on the tour guide. I'd bring up the possibility beforehand and see what they say. I think the more popular guides probably won't given the expectation that may follow.
  16. My point wasn't that I dress inappropriately, just that if I wanted to wear something comfortable to me, other people's thoughts that my bum might look big in it wouldn't be high on my list for rejecting wearing it. In Thailand I want things with many secure pockets, loose fitting, dries quickly, cool to wear and things suitable for the places I want to visit.
  17. I wear what I wear for my comfort. I couldn't give a flying fuck what anyone else thinks of my choices.
  18. It gets boring. Someone creates an interesting post and in under a page the usual suspects turn it into a troll fest. This forum has provided such good information for me but I find myself not reading threads as soon as it degenerates. Soon it will be pointless reading at all. So, thank you for suspending those causing this latest spat but there are several people who continually cause issues who could do with similar treatment.
  19. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-39620088 EasyJet not so innocent.
  20. I have no problems with most of the mechanisms they use. A lot of people require the flexibility and I can understand that to provide that, occasionally flights will be overbooked. The problem I have are the mechanisms to find "volunteers" and the lies that are told along the way. Rather than random picks, in reality the people who pay for fixed tickets with no flexibility are paying the cheaper fares and it is these that will be inconvenienced. To me, if you have paid for flexibility then it is you causing these situations and, due to the nature of your ticket you must be happy with different flights. When you book tickets online, you fill out all sorts of crap. How about a section that states whether or not you would be willing to give up your seat for overbooking and how much for? The airline can then simply pick the lowest. This is not what happened here at all though. The airline decided at the last moment that moving its own staff was more important than its customers. They offered minimal compensation and got no volunteers. I would like to know if any of this was done before boarding or was it all after boarding. I would think this is all going to be settled out of court and we are unlikely to discover the truth. United have now set a policy where any staff movement decisions must be at least 1 hour before flights. Personally, other than for illness I think this is still too short.
  21. Perplu. I couldn't give a flying fuck what the average wage in Thailand is against the amount I pay for an ST or for a massage. Unless you know how often the guys manage to find a customer, the two things can't be compared. Do I barter them down to the minimum they might take? No. I'd much rather have sex with someone that thinks they are getting a good deal. At the end of it I will feel better and maybe they will. Everyone can do their own thing and pay what they can get away with but, for me, I don't feel the need to skimp on the main point of my holiday. If I get a reputation for paying a little too much, I can live with that. I'd certainly hate to think I got the opposite reputation.
  22. Abidismaili, you do go off on some ridiculous tangents at times.
  23. Since dying for some minutes at 38 and having multiple heart surgeries and episodes since, I can't say it worries me at all now (at 51). I can either live and enjoy my life, or worry about it. I choose to simply get on with living.
  24. Sorry but all of that is nothing but innuendo and wag's. There were obviously lots of really bad decisions made and short cuts taken which resulted in the assault of a passenger. My suspicions would be that the rules followed by the flight crew and airport police don't properly define or explain what you are allowed to do in such situations and it's obvious that the people involved in this altercation were improperly trained. I would love to know what the person with responsibility here, the captain, has to say about it. Overall though, I'd guess we are never going to know. It will be settled out of court with an NDA attached.
  25. The boys sometimes have other jobs, may have other arrangements, might have wife and kids waiting at home. Always best to set expectations beforehand or risk disappointment.
