Day 2.25: Under Moonlight, Redux
 
I was lying in bed when Shan Boy opened my hotel room door with the key I gave him. He sees me and goes toward me and gives me a kiss on the lips. He then looks around the room and proceeds to tidy up. He puts all my shoes neatly by the narrow corridor to the door. He folds all my clothes just tossed around by me earlier, and places them neatly in a pile in the corner. He goes to the bathroom and arranges my toiletries and toothbrush to give a sense of order to the sink counter. He asks me if I wanted a water. I answer yes. He opens a bottle and puts it beside me on the side table.
 
I think I have stumbled on a winning formula for me in Bangkok. If the money is right, it is nice to have a steady boy with you, who isn’t fussy and high maintenance like some out there, who has an eye for your needs while staying in the city, and of course will be there for more sexy or carnal endeavors if the need arises, and is patient enough if you decide on meeting others while staying with you. Shan Boy continues to play the “butler” that I didn’t think I need this trip.
 
Shan Boy reminds me that we needed to go back to Excelsior tailors to get my first fitting for my suits. Such a good butler. We head over to Surawong to get to the tailors. Since I’ve already seen the show in Moonlight (and even if I really want to see those sexy superstar boys again), I wanted to check out other bars this second night. Since it will be past 10 when I am done with Cambodian, I need to go to a bar that had shows late. Screw Boys comes to mind, as probably other bars that have second shows that happen after the initial main show.
 
I didn’t feel super hungry just yet but figured with the exertions I was going to do tonight  I should probably eat something. It was almost 7 PM so I decided to take Shan Boy to the Crowne Plaza lounge again for some small plate food. Since it came with the room free with the upgrade I might as well take advantage of it. The bad thing about Crowne Plaza is that it has slowly become more and more expensive to stay here every time I visit. I remember a time when a basic room cost around 2000 baht. Nowadays, you’d be hard pressed to find something less than 4000 baht in the weekends. But still, for short-timers like me, who only stay a max of one week, Crowne Plaza sure beats anything else in Silom for me.
 
We get to the lounge and see that it was more populated than usual. It is true that the hotel is fairly popular with the Japanese, and this afternoon was no exception. Most of them were just by themselves, and two had girls with them, presumably working girls, judging by their demeanor and such. Another point for the Crowne Plaza. Me and Shan Boy fit right in. We sat down and immediately got asked for our drink orders. I had a coffee and Shan Boy had a Heineken. We go to the buffet area and got ourselves some chicken skewers and sushi and pasta and bread. It was a pretty good spread for something included free in the room. Shan Boy had another beer. I had another coffee.
 
When we were finished I asked Shan Boy if we could fool around a bit before I head out to Moonlight. We get to the room and Shan Boy immediately takes off all his clothes and lays me down the bed to kiss me. He starts taking off my clothes as well and then sucks me off. I get pushed and pulled by the usual touts on the way to Freshboys but I am so used to that by now. I head in to Freshboys and hand my usual mamasan the 500 baht for the off fee, and another 50 baht, telling the mamasan to “Take care of Shan Boy tonight.” She nods and asks if I was staying for the show. I told her I was going to another bar. She frowned a little bit but recovered immediately and smiled and asked me what bar. “Moonlight,” I say. She bids me good luck as I exit the bar. Lots of cute boys in there. But my heart was elsewhere.
 
I get to Moonlight and paid my usual 300 baht drink-cover fee and head into the establishment. There were a total of 5 customers in the bar, but it was only 915 PM.  The stage had about 4 boys at a time, rotating to the beat of the music. After 5 minutes my usual captain greets me, and looks happy to see me (probably sees dollar signs).  I tell him my drink, and tell him to get a drink for him as well, since he has been so helpful earlier about the information on the superstars of the bar. He asks me about my day. I tell him the truth. He had some fairly useful information for me about my errands today.
 
All of a sudden I get accosted again. It was Mon Boy, in his Moonlight gear. He looked really happy to see me. He tells me about his zoo visit with his family today, and shows me some photos of his photogenic family. He tells me it was a shame that I could not come with them today. I was kind of regretful that I didn’t go. But I had shit to do. I ask him if he wanted a drink. He tells me to not bother and to save my money.
 
The captain then leaves his seat next to me and a handsome boy sits in his place. It was the Cambodian that was promised to me yesterday. I shake his hand. I thought for a minute about ditching my two boys and just getting one of those hunks.

He trusts me enough to not ask for a tip today, even if there was a chance I could tell him to get lost when he left, stiffing him of his tip. So I decide to trust him back. 
 
We part ways at the BTS Silom station. He walks towards Sathorn, I get on the BTS to my destination. I spend a few hours doing my thing. In the midst of it all, the captain from Moonlight bar sends me a Line, asking me if I was going to the bar tonight:

Day 1.5: Under Moonlight
 
When in Thailand, I usually don’t off twinks. Not because I am not attracted to them, but because I usually get some twink action when I’m back home. There are many reasons why I pay for sex overseas, and an important one is my search for variety: I’d rather get hunky or muscley Asian men in Thailand because I don’t usually hookup with them much at home. But of course, there are always exceptions, and ShanBoy is one perfect example. This is the same reason why I was excited about the boy bar Moonlight, which is really a reimagined, more streamlined version of (old) Jupiter. New Jupiter seems to be cut from the same cloth, but more sanitized and gentrified to attract a more general type of audience. That is where the money is, obviously, and it is working for both bars. Much to the chagrin of course to most of us who long for the more sleazy Bangkok boy bars of the past. These are bars I would be comfortable bringing my boyfriend (or my sister really) to for a solid night of entertainment and staring at gorgeous guys, without the veil of sleaziness one associates Thai bars with.
 
So I hoof it from FreshBoys to Moonlight, carefully minding the tuktuks speeding past me in Surawong. I get to the familiar old Jupiter street close to Surawongse hotel. The façade itself was pretty inviting:
 

 
There were also two model types hanging around the front of the bar. Two hunk types that I would usually off in a heartbeat. But of course I shouldn’t just off them now and not go in the bar to see what it was about. I pay the entrance, a very reasonable 300 baht with one drink, and get escorted into the premises. Once inside, I was kind of surprised I was able to be seated in the second row, which was elevated and has a better viewing angle than the first row, which was just at the edge of stage and therefore you had to look up to view the show. I mean, if you wanted to be closer to the bulges and the boys, that was where to go, but I wanted to be comfortable, and have a wider viewing angle. I was also surprised that the back half of the bar was full. The customers are too shy to sit up front. Why was that.
 
As I sit down I get a “Ni hao!” from the waitstaff.  I guess I’m Chinese today. A captain asked me what my drink order was. I give it to him and 5 minutes later he comes back with my drink. I peruse the male offerings on display at the stage. Some average to good looking boys on tonight. Where were the hunks? The captain sits by me. “Where are you from?” he asks me. “USA. California” I answer. The captain suddenly gets excited. “I thought you are from China. Are you Asian?” I tell him of course, I am Asian, and I tell him my heritage. It’s a question I always have to answer here. The captain then tells me that he has been to the USA before. We talk about USA for a bit. He was very friendly.
 
I then tell the captain to buy himself a drink. If he was going to sit with me for this long he might as well be comfortable (or I guess in this case, compensated). As we talk, the boys suddenly leave the stage and a host gets on the stage. And then one by one, the hunks were introduced. Wow, these guys are really really gorgeous. I ask the captain if they were offable. He said some of them yes, but the others have to be convinced. But said that if I wanted anyone off the hunks shelf I am sure something can be arranged.
 
From my experience in Thailand, hunks of these quality usually don’t bottom, don’t kiss passionately, and only built for worship and objectification, not for intense sexual sessions. So I preempt myself from asking stupid questions and just tell the captain “They don’t bottom I am sure.” The captain nods, “Only top.” “They don’t kiss as well?” “Some do. Depends on the customer. I was giddy too. I can’t believe he is working again in Moonlight.
 
He hugs me tightly. He kisses my hand, my forearm, my neck. “Good to see you again,” he says. “You ok?” I ask. “Yes, now I OK.” I knew he has been through hard times in the past year (from his facebook). But now he looks radiant and carefree. We talk for a bit about how long I was here for and my plans. He kisses me again. This was getting out of hand. I appreciated the attention but he was getting a lot of stares from other customers.
 
The captain comes back. He tells me the gorgeous boy was offed for the night and left early. He said the boy was fairly popular. But he said I can back tomorrow and the captain will reserve the boy for me. I tell him to do just that. I think I have my boy for tonight.
 
The captain, seeing the obvious unbridled affection Monboy was showing me, asks me if we knew each other. I tell him a short version of what happened before. I even show the captain a photo of the hickeys I’ve received from MonBoy last year when I offed him in new Jupiter. I told the captain the boy knew how to be with me. I won’t elaborate on what the show entails because everyone can watch it in Moonlight’s live feed in the Facebook page. But of course, that live feed pales in comparison to seeing it live. The model boys were super gorgeous and god-like sexy, and their parts in the show were well-choreographed and maximized their sexiness and appeal to the audience. The other numbers were great as well. Very well done and the choreography was excellent. It was a far cry from the indifferent dancing that plagued the old Jupiter before. Moonlight was on the top of its game, from the excellent numbers to the gorgeous models to the great boys, down to the social media presence and promotional materials available. If this was the future of Bangkok boy show bars, I was fine with it. Others of course disagree.
 
While the show was happening the captain continues to engage me with some tidbits about the bar and the boys. He was really friendly and helpful, and not at all annoying. I am the weird Bangkok sex tourist who actually doesn’t mind getting pestered by mamasans and captains. I find that I get a bit more  out of the evening with their help. And sure enough I do get more from this captain. I’ll elaborate on this later.
 
MonBoy does his two show numbers and sits back down with me. I tell him to put on street clothes. The show has made me really horny for my short-time with MonBoy. I pay for the off fee and the extra drink by the captain. MonBoy returns and kisses me on the lips and sits down and takes my hand. It was 11:10 PM. Was in Mexico at beginning of July. I know the place well as I lived there 14 years. That is 15 years ago but I go back often. (3 time in 4 years).

Can tell you that last year a friend even got to suck one of them in front of all. Does not mean it will work every time but you will not know if you are shy!
Tom's Leather bar (mentionned by Floridabob) (www.toms-mexico.com) was very good too last year (did not go this year but no reason it changed). Good strippers too. As per the name, more jeans and leather and ruff crowd.

Yes, nothing better than to visit to appreciate the place. Just for the space on 2 floors and 2 shows is worth going in Dreamboys. In size (no pun..) they have the biggest. And quantity of guys too.
Worth one visit at least and then decide if it is for you or not.

Trip reports and venue reports are the meat and potatoes (or fish and rice, if you will) of any forum.  They get the biggest readership and it's why most of us look in so frequently.  They contain information we may well use in making decisions about where to stay, places to go, sights to visit and guys to seek out or even avoid.
 
Over time, we lost a handful of great resources. One was all about massage shops, another few narrated adventures with the Thai BF's that were fun to follow, and there was the wonderful "Dancing with the Devil" series that featured the author's adventures with Bangkok MB's. I'm sure I'm forgetting some.
 
As Alexx aptly says, members who post these reports are doing all of us a big service.  Not only do we gain the benefit of the experience of others, we get titillated--I do, anyway--at some of the more descriptive segments. The last thing we should do is discourage those who compose them. Responses like that can discourage others from posting their first reports--the last thing we want to happen, no?

We each monger, or at least holiday, in our different ways, if for no other reason that our backgrounds are hugely varied and as a consequence are looking to scratch our own particular itch while we are here.
 
What draws us to this forum is varied too, perhaps with a sexual attraction to young Thai males as our common link, but actually, probably, with precious little else in common.
