Day 3: One of the places that I wanted to visit whilst I was in Bangkok was the new IconSiam, so I decided today would be the day for it. Caught the BTS to Saphan Taksin, and hopped on the free IconSiam river shuttle. The trip didn't take long at all and it was a nice boat ride on the river. Arrived and was quite impressed at how massive it was. The first time I went to Siam Paragon I thought that was pretty impressive, but this place just takes the cake. I always marvel at how they get the cars into the dealerships on the upper floors. Wandered around for a while, exploring each floor, before having some lunch at a Korean restaurant near the top floor. I remember in one of @vinapu's trip reports he mentioned an outside terrace outside the apple store, so after finding the apple store, walked through it and went outside and it was quite a nice view of the river and the city. I really do like a nice view. Continued to wander around and bought some clothes for myself that were on sale (also saw maybe a couple of you guys shopping with your Thai boyfriends), eventually got bored so I got the river shuttle back to Saphan Taksin, got on the BTS, somehow managed to go in the wrong direction, got off the train and on another and went to Sala Daeng because my feet hurt and I wanted another foot massage. I was going to go back to Rapee but I walked up and down the street and it was like it disappeared because I couldn't find it. Maybe I was just being blind or not looking hard enough, but anyway, I kept on walking down and came across Nakarat and just as well because the guys outside were quite nice looking. I ended up getting a 1 hour foot massage with the guy who accosted me (his name was bee I think). Walked up the million steps to the 3rd floor, and it was quite nice as I was the only one in the foot massage area. It was mid-afternoon after all. I did see a few guys come in and out. The foot massage was really good, he was quite strong, massage was 250 baht, paid the lady at the counter with a 500 and gave bee the change. I told him I would come back (but turns out that I didn't unfortunately). Couldn't be bothered walking back so I took the BTS to the next stop to Chong Nonsi to my hotel. Later in the evening I walked down the street and ate some kale and crispy pork at some random restaurant, after which I felt tired so I didn't bother going out. 
Day 4: Today I went across the road to King Power Mahanakhon and omg it was amazing. So I paid 689 baht entry fee (apparently cheaper on weekdays, and I saw some cheaper online promotions too), found out I couldn't bring my bottle of water up (bear that in mind for if you visit), went through the X-ray and into an elevator which was super fast and displayed some nice projections on the walls as it was going up. Off the elevator at the 74th floor which was the 360-degree indoor observation area which you could see all of Bangkok from every window. Every time I went to a different window it was like I was looking at something new. Before going up to the 78th floor, the staff gave me some cloth covers to put over my shoes, and a soft bag to put my bag in. Can't remember if I went up the stairs or the lift at the 78th floor, but when I got there, wow. The view was spectacular. Spent a lot of time just looking out at Bangkok. Eventually made it to the glass panel (once the crowd died down a little), and it was so cool. Since I went there by myself, I was a little worried about where I would leave my belongings as they don't provide any lockers or anything, but the soft blue bag that they gave me I could take onto the glass. I had one of the staff members take some photos of me. Just looking down 78 floors below was really something. I would've stayed on the glass a bit longer, but everyone had to get off as they needed to clean the glass. Highly recommended experience. When I left Mahanakhon I walked to Baantewa. I had a really good experience when I visited 3 years ago, so I was hoping for another good time. When I got there I had to go up the stairs (unlike when I visited 3 years ago I just went in the front door), and there were only 2 guys available. They were both cute so I just randomly selected one, and off we went. Showered alone at first, and the massage was okay. His clothes eventually came off, but afters was just a handjob. Last time I was offered the full service, but not today so it seems. Yeah I'm sure I could've communicated better what I wanted, but as I mentioned before, I just kinda go with the flow and see what happens. I mean, a handjob is better than no handjob I guess! Paid the 700 baht for the massage, and the 1000 minimum tip. Had a meal at Alphabet Cafe and Bar near my hotel, and later on another meal at Beef and Shake (also near my hotel). Didn't venture out again (as I was tired.. this becomes a pattern..) 
 

Room at IResidence looks quite nice. Never stay there but passed by it many times on my way from Chong Nonsi to soi 3. Location is superb indeed.
Sorry to hear your QBE / quasi boyfriend experience  / did not work. But if we don't try we will not know, right? It's one thing to have fabulous 1-2 hours massage or short time but long time is different matter.
You right that guy don't need to spent every waking hour with you in such arrangement although in the room I'd say he should be available all the time. Its wise though to give him free time outside hotel. When I took Z from Pattya to BKK in Sept rule imposed on him by me  was that during day he is free man but at night time he should be with me in the room ( it did not work quite lie that but we were close catching for lost night time in a broad daylight).
Your smoking was likely not reason for his behavior although it's always nice to be considerate. Yes you could communicate better what you expect, it always works as guys are not mind readers and signals we send may be misinterpreted. If you enter room together and and your first moments are spent on the phone instead of on him, that is unmistakably signal that he can do the same - not sure it was a case. Strong prolonged hug, including wandering had here and there ( although not THERE ) it's always first thing i do after door are closed. I get feel of him and he gets reminder what he is  here for. 
No,  you did not need to spoil  him more , guys are coming with us not to be spoiled , they expect cash compensation and spoilage and gifts are not substitutes for it, just icing on the cake even if very generous. Whole phone thing could be avoided either by communicating clearly he should put it away or if you shy to do it , by placing your hand on the screen so he can see that you don like of what he is doing. Works for me 100 % 
1000 and even 2000 for a whole night is not overwhelming tip for BKK standards but if that's what he asked for that's fine.
refusing that 1000 / plate buffet was right thing , it would sent wrong signal as to your spending habit and potential. After few good days , yes,   but not at the first try
In my opinion you did not do anything wrong other that not stopping phone nonsense immediately .
As often , memories of first encounter for both of you did not translate  into anything exciting after months of absence. One of those cases when we wonder what we saw in that guy at the first place. In future it will most likely happen again with other guys as well.
Don't worry about anything , just carry on with burden of fun. If he contacts you looking for another time together if you feel like seeing him forget about malls and restaurants , bring him right to the room and tell him to leave that phone off moment he pulls it from his pocket.. Do the same with yours.
If you don't want to see him , just tell him that it's not option for now, don't lie about seeing in few days if you don't have such intention. If he asks why, mention that phone " you like your phone more than me' for example.

is this your first time in either country? Just asking... For Thailand you get lots of info here, for PH let me just make a few comments:
- Manila is an ugly mess, as has been said before
- Boracay is gorgeous, though on my last visit in Jan 2018 it was so incredibly overcrowded, it wasn't funny. One may think of their president what one wants, but on the issue of Boracay and his drastic measure to close the entire island for 6 months, I fully support that. Now, after the reopening, it should be back to it's beautiful former self. TIP: the more quiet, and more gay area on White Beach is in the southern section, aka "station 3". Sepcial TIP: go even further to the south, past the rocks, and you will find several small, beautiful sandy coves with usually no people at all. It was like that even in Jan 2018 when otherwise everything was overflowing. It is (or used to be) somewhat of a secret gay spot, too. 
- El Nido is (or was?) incredibly beautiful and was rather quiet when I was there in 2012. Not sure how it is now, so would be interested in uour update. What is the mode of transport there these days? Back then, the only "official" way was by 8 or 10 hour jeepney trip from Puerto Princessa, which compounded it's remoteness and thus it's quietness. But then there was also a somewhat secret, private small plane service directly from Manila, which I took. Things may have changed....

I am a BIG FAN of the Philippines!! So many beautiful places to visit. And the Guys there are wonderful!!
However, it is correct that the Bars and Massage Places are nothing like Thailand. Use PlanetRomeo and Whatsup to meet guys. I avoid Manila. It is too big and too congested. Takes 2 hours just to get across the City from Malate to Makita. Instead go to Cebu City. It is in the south and more relaxed. And it is a good hopping off place for Adventures; like hiking to the waterfalls, swimming with the whale sharks, mountaineering in the canyons, or just lying on the beach.

Hi all. A bit of a trip report from my latest trip to Bangkok. It's not really that chock-a-block full of sexual escapades but hopefully there will be some interest! So a little back story - I went to Pattaya back in April and met a guy at Royal House whom I had a good time with. Let's call him J. So we kept in contact via line and I invited him to stay with me on my next trip to Bangkok (as he was now living in Bangkok). He was pretty excited, and often sent messages 'I can't wait to see you' etc. I on the other hand was a little trepidatious as my experience of Thai guys is limited to "massages" mainly, and in my home country I'm pretty introverted and prefer to be by myself most of the time, so inviting someone to stay with me was something quite different for me. But I just thought 'fuck it', I need to open up to new experiences and just see how it goes (which it didn't really).. read on to find out!
Day 1: travelled from my home country to Singapore for a 6 hour stopover (love Changi Airport) around the hours of 2:30am - 8:30am. There's surprisingly still a lot to do there at stupid o'clock. I messaged J to let him know when I would be arriving and he said he would meet me at the airport, I said he didn't have to but he insisted. Landed at Suvarnabhumi at about 9:50am, immigration took ages, but my suitcase was already at the carousel as I got out. As I exited into the arrivals area, no sign of J, sent him a message and made my way down to the basement to exchange some money. I didn't know whether or not to wait, so I just waited a little bit and he messaged back saying that he was asleep. No problem, so I said that I would meet him later as I wanted to rest first. Took the airport link and BTS to Chong Nonsi where my hotel was - I Residence Silom. The hotel was okay, I probably wouldn't stay there again. It was a little run down and rough around the edges, and the bathroom was small, but they are doing some renovations and there are some newer rooms. Bit confusing at times are there are 3 different buildings that are not connected, but I think some of the floors are. Finding the breakfast room and the rooftop pool was a bit of an adventure, but I got there in the end. But the staff were really nice, location was really good (right outside the BTS Chong Nonsi), and sooo many places to eat nearby (restaurants, street food, etc), as well as a 7/11, King Power Mahanakhon across the road (which I will get to later), and Baantewa and Arena are walking distance. Getting to the Silom area is walkable or a very short train ride. Ate lunch at Lon Lon (very nice), and met J a little later in the evening. We met at Siam Paragon, had a bit of a wander, looked for something to eat, he wanted to eat at a Japanese seafood buffet for 1000 baht per person, I said no and told him I am not a rich farang, and ended up eating at Boon Tong Kee, which is a restaurant that I've eaten at in Singapore. Took the BTS back to my hotel, and this is where things started to become weird. So as soon as we got in, he was literally stuck to his phone. Like, I will admit that I spend a lot of time on my phone as well, but this just took the cake. I was in the bed, and he eventually came to bed (still on the phone) and I had to snuggle up to him to get 'things' started. It just felt like that spark that we had a few months ago wasn't there. I'm a pretty realistic person, I'm not expecting him to spend every waking moment with me, but at least put your phone down when I'm snuggling up to you and maybe give me a bit of attention? Anyway, after we finished I went to sleep because I was pretty tired, and he slept sometime later.

Day 2: Shortly after waking, snuggled up to him, surprise surprise he was on his phone, but we got 'started' after I literally started jerking myself off, he got the picture. I respect these guys, they are people too, so I don't want to force him to do anything that he doesn't want to do, but then what do I get? Why are you even here? So anyway, today we took the BTS up to chatuchak market and wandered around for a few hours. Love this place, it's so big! I bought few clothes for myself, and I bought J some clothes as well, as well as lunch. Throughout the day I was thinking to myself, I don't want to spend the rest of the week with him, how am I going to break it to him gently. So we took the BTS back (him still on the phone, and nearly missed getting off the train as he was too engrossed with whatever he was playing), and when we got to the room he told me that he wanted to go back to his room to change clothes and get his ID, so I took the opportunity and told him that I wanted to spend a few days by myself and I would message him in a few days. He was okay with it, asked for 1000 baht to send to his mum, so I gave him 2000 baht because at this stage I wasn't sure it I was going to see him again. After he left I just felt kinda free. But I did think about it, what could I have done to make the situation better? Should I have spoilt him more? Should I have not smoked around him? Should I have just communicated better and let him know what I wanted? or was he just a dud? I don't know.. anyway, I wasn't upset or anything, just chalking it down to experience, and I'll do better next time. J did end up calling a little later asking if I was okay, and I said yes and just explained that I am not used to having someone with me all the time (I didn't tell him the real reason). A little later I went out to Silom Complex and ate at Bon Chon (really good fried chicken), bought some of those face masks that lots of Thais are wearing these days, and went across the road for a foot massage at Rapee. 250 baht and 200 baht tip because it was quite good. At the end he even did a bit of an arm, neck, back, and head massage, and even cracked my back, which I always think is hilarious for some reason when I hear all the popping noises.

that can be safely said about any model and in fact any guy, there will be always those  who look at him with awe  all the way to those who will never get what's so attractive  about this or that guy.
This is lesson I learned from multiple visits of bars in company of other members. 
It's why recommendations as well as bad reviews must be always taken with pinch of salt and gulp of cold water.
Picture says even less than words, two dimensional guy may look differently than live and warm on stage in three dimensions with broad smile ( and a shoulders ) or on opposite side  with grumpy look " I don't like being here  and I don't like you either" dissolving in acid all handsomeness or/and cuteness  impression.

Day 9 and final notes
In the morning we did not drag things as I had flight to catch at noon, another  in-style trip to Foodland in time for me to get that coveted 65 baht breakfast deal, rest of 450 bill were for  whatever Oud consumed to maintain his musculature. 50 baht change went to hand of lady who served me and my boys quite a few times this trip , I don’t even start to think  of what kind of reputation I have in her eyes but at least she must have noticed I like muscular specimens.
Back to hotel, fact packing, last peek at the forum  and off to Swampy  by regular  BTS / Airlink train way.
I budgeted very well this trip without a need for last minute ATM withdrawals and found only  11 baht leftover change in my pocket. With no cleaner in sight I just placed it in tip box in one of  food stands at the airport. Window seat to Taipei with very good view over Thailand , Laos and Vietnam and then over Taiwan.
Connection time was short , just enough to check e-mails and forum and return flight was without any doubt my best long-haul flight ever ! Economy class  was quite empty so I had whole row of seats in the middle section for myself enabling me to sleep in almost  normal position . Out of my grand plans to read 4 numbers of THE ECONOMIST and 300 pages book only  1  ½ of magazine was  utilized, rest I spent sleeping just like bourgeoisie in the business class.
On arrival upon learning I’m coming from Thailand I was directed to go to regular channel for further interrogation  but other officer  was more sensible and  just waved me away. 24 hours short of  5 minutes from time I closed door at Baan Silom  I entered home , returning from Thailand for 20th time.
Final reflections
This was second  time I went all the way just for 1 week, last year I had my doubts about sensibility of such short trip  but it worked well.  This time   only confirmed what I knew already , yes it makes sense even with such long flight. GGOBKK once commented that on short trip we are more focused and I agree.  GoldMember in another thread responded to 18past19’s query  that ‘ short trip is better than no trip “ and I agree even more.
With every day being different and being entertained by different guys and meeting so many members for the first time  and few meeting again after some absence   it actually feels I was there much longer than I did. So chances are in future I may repeat  such a treat  again and again.
Going back in 27 days  from  return from previous trip  was less a treat. Sometimes I had feeling  that wow! and novelty buzz factor was bit diminished.  Couple months gap would be better  but nothing I could do, I learned about that opportunity  only few days after  I booked my end of Aug trip.  So I could say yes or no but I only look stupid so yes was only option and I’d do the same tomorrow. If I knew earlier  I’d probably just stay longer after end of this trip as coming earlier was not an option.
Strong baht stings a bit and BKK prices are becoming serious, specially tips for long time . On another hand and it may be just coincidence at the moment , guys seem to drop time  watching. It was almost universally me who was chasing them out of bed in the morning. With exception of Moonlight #9 I engaged only known quality and it worked. Pocket felt it but performances were worth expense. I had feeling that those  guys really appreciate repeat custom  and not because  shortage of customers.
It was first time ever  then guy came to the room to apologize in person that he is not able to keep his side of agreed deal, usually they were no-show or decided in the room to announce change their mind.
What I noticed also was that with one exception and even that was in the morning after we waked up anyways , none of the guys I was hosting turned on TV
There’s some of sour grapes too. I universally ask my long time off if they are hungry before we go to hotel  and also treat them if they wish with breakfast. I noticed some signs of abuse ie. they picked up most expensive dishes , usually seafood. It’s not fair when say 75% of 800 baht restaurant bill is spent    on treating one’s guest. I did not mind so far  but when it become too blatant and  visible I resolved to watch that and veto if  dish is too expensive or state up front that I have only 500 or whatever on me so watch what you order .
Meeting with members is always pleasure and highlight of every trip , this time stars  aligned even more and I managed to see for  the first time Drim Voiz, CTCI8F,18past 19,  Gold Member and reader after exchanging messages and reading reports for years. I’m happy  Anddy become  part of my adventure quite a few times this trip and that I managed to see Paulsf again as he arrived few days after I departed in Sept   and kept seat warm for my return  just 2 days before his departure.
My apologies to Pattaya based members- williewillie , aussie_ and biguyby that I did not  report my arrival  but nature of this trip was such that I was not even sure I will be able to come to Pattaya  at all until day before.
Now back to great unknown:  when will be next trip?    I do my best next year as always but  2020 will not be my usual year  and there are some fundamental things I need to take care of before I venture to LOS, But I will, that’s sure. 

It had been a while since my last visit to A-Bomb Boys.  When I arrived at 11:10pm, the gogo boys were sitting on the 
stage.  They jumped up and were all shirtless with jeans.  I spoke to the manager and asked if there would be a show.
He said yes 100%.  I called over a lad I knew from Xboys and offered him a drink.  As the only customer in the bar,
I was getting a lot of attention from thirsty boys who wanted to sit with me.  All the gogo boys were hot and sexy..
A few more customers drifted in later and the show started about 10 minutes late (11:40pm).  One skit with 4 hunks 
wearing towels was awesome.  Manly erect and handsome guys.  They all reappear at the finale with a dozen naked erect guys.  
I enjoyed the show and will return soon for sure.
 

Day 8, almost last
We weren’t in rush to leave bed but finally at 9.30 stomachs alarmed that it’s past breakfast time so we rushed to Foodland where surprisingly A ordered exactly the same American  Breakfast I did. As it was past 9 it cost us whooping 81 baht a piece instead of 65 baht special offered between 5.30-9.
Today “other thing’  took me to Kao San area so I used an opportunity of being nearby to walk length of that world- famous backpacker street before I returned to  Silom civilization. Not sure it’s coincidence or bad luck but it was third time in row I was in that area in last few trips and it’s always during quite heavy rain. Even more surprising was to learn upon return that that rain stopped somewhere because Silom area was completely dry.
What surprised me at Kao San as I was looking for  a shelter and nice  internet café would do, there was none. 10-15 years ago there was probably one in every third unit but now thanks to smartphonery  even in such backpacker ghetto they were extinguished to oblivion.
Another thing I noticed was that tourists trinkets and souvenirs were in my opinion more varied and innovative than the same stuff at Patpong night market, no wonder  crowds at Patpong are mostly absent. Returned to hotel  by tourist boat for 60 baht   almost in time for A’s scheduled 3-5 visit so we could continue exploring world affairs and our bodies . Than another, last one  ‘ other things ‘ meeting and at 8 p.m.  return to Madrid Pizza for a dinner with Anddy and CTCI8F.  Again we shared our selection and  talked  till 10 or so , no doubt to delight of ladies there. One of advantages of Madrid is that place is quiet and discreet so no need to hush voice while combing through patrons .
Then at my suggestion we went to  Jupiter as it’s my last night and I was hopping Oud , transplant there from Tawan will be present so we can have our 12th reunion.
As I stated before  while show is excellent and guys super handsome Jupiter is NOT my favorite bar . Dearth of smiles on boy’s faces, loud, talk-preventing music  and obnoxious practice of reserving the best seats and not factors I particularly like .
But there Oud  was pumping some iron so I walked to him right away and he did not waste time by asking ‘I go with you after show?”.  It’s always nice and efficient to deal with known quality. Invited  him for a drink of course.
In meantime guys were presenting themselves , always eye pleasing sight. It looks that my # 9 from Moonlight from day 5 found his way to Jupiter to become # 23 although I’m not 100% sure as he seem to overlook my presence .  Mekhin is still there looking great  although less muscly than before. As usual  ladies in attendance attracted most of guy’s attention , nothing new there but at least they behaved and it was fun to watch as they pretended to be shy when boys approached them up close.
But like at Dreamboys level of sound bordered on idiotic and I feel sorry for guys who  go through that night after night.
At one point we said good bye to CtCI8F who is leaving early tomorrow and at  midnight Anddy , Oud and I left bar as well , we say good bye to Anddy on Silom and then on Oud’s  motorcycle ( gift from  lady customer )  we traveled in style to Foodland to get some meal before continuing to Baan Silom to complete our reunion. 
Oud confided then at one point  in bar he was approached by the girl about an off but he decided to be loyal to his previous commitment of going with me.  I thanked him warmly but also told him that it was smart move as if he reneged on a deal   chances would be  I will never off him again. He is great guy , in Tawan was one of overlooked also-runs but move to Jupiter did him good and he stands out  as one of bigger guys there and feature of few shows every night.  In 12 meetings I never had any problems with performance or timing so when in the room he asked for a rise of my regular tip I gladly accepted such modest request. Great and very warm night , nice to be back thought I falling into his muscular embraces.

Friday I went to the beach to watch the hot guys play volleyball and to people watch.bbso far I'm not enjoying the traditional Brazilian foods.  I may try to find a Chinese takeout.

Then I went to Suriwong  for breakfast , I decided to try nice looking Café Club across the road from Patpong.  Not a cheap place  but their 399 ‘big breakfast ‘ was really big , tasty and filling, even if at check out it turned that they are adding VAT and service charge to a bill so 399 become something like 480 ( read 500  with a tip although since service charge was included I shouldn’t be so generous). Once a trip I can splurge on a meal, why not , specially that their serving kept me running  well into the evening .  
Good that “Other things ‘  today   weren’t too absorbing so I even managed to return to hotel  in the afternoon for  3-5 nap.
At 6 I was already exiting Phya Thai station in search of Gannymede spa  nearby. No sign from main read but with map in my head it was easy to find. Captain explained me their menu and only then called guys , all 4 of them to emerge from behind the curtain. All well muscled but  more athlete than hunk type and as usual, broadest smile earned 1 hr body to body massage for 800 baht with minimum tip of 1200. Good job by fully versatile bi-guy although judging by how fast he stood to attention girls are probably afterthought for him.  Place is very well appointed , decorated and maintained and it’s fully recommended, they do 4 hands as well.
Return to Patpong or rather Thaniya and walk to Moonlight hoping A will be there . Yes and at his best at that  showing his washboard abs to sparse at that time audience.  You should see his smile when I entered and motioned him over right away.  Off fee paid with promise to pick him up later  and  I told him he is free till midnight , if he finds other admirer in meantime I will wait for his return.  I finished my drink –at Moonlight you pay for drink before you enter bar unfortunately  and went to Dreamboys as scheduled by me and CTCI8F yesterday.
I took a bit circular way through Thaniya and Silom and surprise – I met Alek , former Tawan guy whom I took to Pattaya back in Jun 2016 for quasi boyfriend experience. We recognized each other immediately after all those years. Last time I saw him was in Dec 2016 at Tawan took hissy fit because I offed somebody else than him . Upon learning I’m going to Dreamboys he tried to join but I firmly said that I’m going with friend and only with him, So our good bye was less smiley. Oh , well.
At Dreamboys I arrived  first and from very beginning I was not sure whom admire more – boys on the stage, they had few hunks there new and old although  #65 , my last off  month ago in Sept or one of two Japanese guys sitting on bench nearby. I did not measure but at least until my friend arrived I was focusing on Japanese hunk more, one of those who would give Moonlight models run for their money .
Show started at 10.15 I guess and was quite long , to a packed  audience. No “special”  show but plenty of performers for big cock , among them one of my eye delights Johnny, known for very energetic dancing ( and now for very impressive endowment) .  Quite  a few guys there are prime offing material. Bad thing about Dreamboys is that sound level is unbearable and well above idiotic , be warned and bring ear plugs. I feel sorry for the boys , it must leave some traces in their hearing abilities. Only Jupiter and XBoys Pattaya are equally stupid but Dreamboys is the worst  IMNSHO.
Highlight of the show were moment when ladyboys invited three participants from audience to join them and to my eternal delight one of them was my Japanese neighbor. There was also another Japanese guy who become primary victim as they undressed him completely revealing that he did not wear underwear.  I did not notice any shyness on his part so common wisdom that Japanese are very adventurous when come s to those things carry a lot of weight.

Today we talked a lot too , mostly about his family and his work. They have very drastic penalties for being late like 50 baht per minute so certainly guys are kept in line. Sadness start setting in my heart when I realized that this is my second last night in BKK  
 

Day 6
Already at 7.30 I went for breakfast at Foodland then packed my meager belongings, rolled my suitcase to Siri Sathorn where as expected I was asked to leave my luggage and check in after 2 p.m. when room will be available. Nice gesture was promotion and I was offered big tube of tooth paste.
First half of day busy with ‘ other things’ but  on return to hotel  I also managed to visit Golden Buddha at Wat Traimit. Not sure why but it was a lot of Indians visiting that day, coincidence or some religious reason.
 Room was ready and I was impressed as it was full sized 1 bedroom apartment complete with kitchen, round table , two sofas  and even ironing desk , all for aprox.  1800 baht , my accommodation splurge this trip along with Baan Souy. Enough time to desoil myself and walk to Madrid Tavern for another pizza dinner with reader  who was already waiting inside and CTCI8F who arrived soon after me. Never met reader before so it was my fifth member this trip who gave me an opportunity to match name with face. As before each of us ordered different kind and we shared exchanging news for good two hours.
Ladies there  as usual pretended they don’t  eavesdrop  and we pretended  we don’t notice they do so good time was had by all.
After we parted ways but not before CTCI8F  and I agreed to go to Tawan tonight I went to Bangkok Massage to see if Kai is there, one of my favorites. Five years ago firecat, twink lover and me muscle lower were sitting at Maxis and for fun exchanged our take of boys at Bangkok Massage across the soi. We watched show and shoots in J/o contest were quite impressive. I noticed few new and interesting guys in the  bar and invested in futures by placing red note deep into undies of one of them.  After the show we departed.  Anddy leaving disappointed  but still tipped Tiger in his wake went home and both of us with our chosen ones went to restaurant on the corner for a dinner and very pleasant conversation. Siri Sathorn is quite far from Tawan and Dam nicely surprised me suggesting we just walk .
To smooth things before we went to bedroom we opened Hong Thong  for few rounds and it helped to energize us and shed inhibitions  if any. Great and classy , considering room , end of day 6.
 

Day 5
Getting rid of “other  things”  for today was easier than I thought, morning e-mail “ I must return to Bangkok today” and fast response “ Ok , no problem”, no question asked . Not that we rushed things in the morning  but at 10am I ordered end of idyll, if only to utilize breakfast included in price served till 11 only.  I also resolved that  in view  of Z going home and Kao as well as Wit absent It doesn’t make much sense to return to Pattaya for a night and informed staff  that I’m vacating room to  a polite answer ‘ we will miss you tonight’.
We took Jomtien bus to Swampy and from there upon learning that shuttle but to Don Muang is available to ticket holders only i.e. to Z , not me I decided we will take taxi which turned to be very good idea as Z almost immediately  placed my hand inside of his shorts rightly claiming ‘ I know you like it” and not surprisingly he was right.
Driver did not seem to notice and if he did ,he  did not mind. So whole rode seemed more like short time rather than taxi ride and not even tip was necessary .
Ride was 375 on the meter +obligatory 50 baht airport surcharge + three tolls , respectively 25, 50 and 70 baht. At the airport we had lunch , send me PM if you are curious what I had, then went to observation level where we had a chance to have last intimate moment  when nobody was there. Few pictures and warm, misty eyed embraces and stolen kisses and Z disappeared behind partition for good.
I decided to take a train , walked to the station , bought ticket for 20 baht ( not sure if they raised prices , last time I paid just 5 or it was train type which was more expensive , it was express from Nong Khai ),
MRT to Sam Yan and walk to VSpace hotel on 2nd floor of Silom 64 building, that’s  the one on Thaniya side connected with Sala Daeng with own exit.  Hotels occupies   just one floor  and rooms are windowless. I booked and paid by Paypal this morning and initially they couldn’t find my records but eventually girl noticed respective sheet on the counter in plain view  , one of those’ darkest spot is right under the lamp’ moments.
Other than lack of window room was more spacious than Red Planet , everything was working including bit archaic safety box, only desk was a bit too high but that’s minor issue. Location , right on Silom hardly can be beaten and lack of windows prevents street noises from getting in. With escalator no need for elevator, quite q few eating places on the ground floor and as I said, one floor up and there’s direct walkway to Sala Daeng BTS.
Settled in I went to Senso, early evening only few guys available , none familiar so as usually I went for  a smile and took Chai for usual  1.5hr session. Very strong massage was all I need after last several hours spent mostly sitting or in horizontal position.  Good streak at Senso continues.  From there to Hot Male outside  but I did not stay there too long because soon CTCI8F showed as we arranged and we went to Moonlight where he had design on somebody  but I , exhausted after  peace negotiations last night decided to pass tonight. Or I thought so. A of course approached immediately but I told him that tonight  I’m not taking anybody , I did not even invite him for  a drink as it was before show and did not want to block  his offing chances in full bar by engaging him. He was clearly unhappy if not outright upset but smiled sadly-politely and returned to the scene.  I lavished red notes on # 9 and # 11 and then show started with few new scenes and to CTCI8F’s delight his intended guy was  there so he made arrangement with mamasan  to take him home.
 That and show made my blood circulating a bit faster so I asked mamas an if A is still there but as expected, it turned he landed LT contract and was gone. But he helpfully pointed that #9 , tipped previously is seating nearby so I motioned him over. Well built with very handsome and somewhat it seemed familiar  face . Cambodian. It looks that face wise I have soft spot for Cambodian guys, I can easily call him Handsome Cambodian III but his nick is Man, fitting for a guy with such manly face. Before I blinked an eye he asked “ I go with you ? ‘ so I did not even bother with drink and questions , just asked him to dress and off we went. He just returned from trip home and was happy to land such good hearted farang on his first night I guess.
On our way to restaurant on Suriwong it was actually him who asked if I want long time which sent me to a stratosphere because as always that was what I was hoping for specially with guy owning such face !
Over the meal he checked his phone and announced that long time is still on the offer but not tonight because his roommate left key in the room so he needs to be home at 2 or so when he finishes his shift.
Old trick and excuse and to this day, more than week later I wonder what cause such change ? After all it was him who  came up with idea, perhaps he had better look at my face in bright lighting? Who knows but his moment was good for such antics as I initially was not even thinking about any offs tonight so he was still a bonus , long time or short
It was short walk from restaurant to hotel where he asked to shower first claiming to be shy but judging by loud music he played there on his phone he wanted to do other business there first.  I was very pleased with his presence and performance and being so close to him suddenly I realized why he  seemed familiar and asked him if before he happened to  carry # 15. Yes. Readers of my reports may recall that  last year ( trip of  Oct 2018 report )  I had hots for #15 there but he was sitting with  some young Asian who snatched him from the stage before I even  could say “Hail Mary” and at least I had an eye feast  because they a were sitting together in front of me, both handsome like hell and half.
Learning about  finally nailing one on my dreams put me in even more forgiving and generous mood even with that key story and fact that he was a bit rushing to leave. I slept well and smiling at end of my day 5

Day 4
Today and tomorrow ‘ other things” are taking me to an Eastern Seaboard.  Not sure if I will be able to visit Pattaya but decided to take  a risk and booked Baan Souy for today and tomorrow  if only because I never stay there, my favorite masseur Kao from Copa had day job there and most important considering circumstances , hotel is mid way between Pattaya and Jomtien, tucked in the small alley, steps from main road but still hidden, just in case.
Because of duties I raised up early so perhaps it was good to be chaste as very few boys would appreciate being hauled out of bed at 7 am I guess. In the afternoon  I was not only unshackled  but also when expressing desire to see Pattaya which I never visited before , uhm,  I was offered a ride . I was not too demanding and asked to be deposed at Terminal 21. As soon as my ride disappeared I jumped into songtaew which conveniently was #6 line Naklua-Jomtien and soon I was walking to the hotel.
 It’s short walk from  main road , has   quite sizable pool om the grounds and was almost empty. I saw only one guest basking in the sun and sole bartender who unfortunately was not Kao . I got room on 1st floor , huge and comfortable, complete with seating area and microwave and of course big bed. Freshened up and walked back to main road to find myself in Boyztown soon after .
 At Paradise massage I was hopping  Wit is there but I was told that he quit 2 weeks ago and of course boss would not tell me where he is now. Strolled through quite empty Boyztown to 2nd road where around the corner there’s small massage shop with only guy outside. As soon as I placed my order heavens opened, speaking about good timing. What was even more surprising deluge changed to drizzle when I was ready to go. By that time Beach Road   was under water but somehow I managed to catch songtaew, made fast dash to my hotel  to  shower all that massage oil off and walked  energetically to Jomtien Complex with question mark bigger and bigger with every step. Will  he be there or not ? And if yes,  will he be free or embraced by  my newly found sworn enemy or not?
Z’s  bar is almost at end of row  of bars and it was his boss who noticed me first , smiled and called Z by name – he happened to be standing by food truck nearby.  Shock and awe like G.W.Bush would say, ‘it’s really you?, how you get there? And then hit between eyes : ‘good you came today because tomorrow I’m flying back home”.  Truly Guardian Angel’s best job.
Drinks ordered , “what hotel we are sleeping tonight?” asked so things were moving fast in right direction. Only in my head  problem was raising , I want to go with him tomorrow to the airport so I must unshackle myself  from “other stuff” and how to do it. Not to mention when as doing it in middle of the night could not look good but I decided to leave it to the fate for now if only because in front of us two guys were seating. One with face of Handsome Cambodian from BBB and his companion a bit more cherubic.
Fast Z revealed that those are new guys in bar, both straight Cambodians and he likes cherubic one very much and since his dream was always to suck straight cock, Cherubic one would be prime candidate but he is too shy to ask him and doesn’t know how to go about whole thing.  Go figure- bar boy being shy !
Since my heart went to Handsome Cambodian II two red notes followed in their direction  and we left things there for now if only because Z got that idea that he wants to go to Mike Shopping mall to buy a shirt he saw another day. As much as I like being with Z 25hours a day /8 days a week shopping with him is  a bit of chore, Ok it’s fucking unnerving waste of time but when he said we should be rushing because mall closes at 10 and now is well past 9 I agreed to go.
 Songtaew dumped us in front of mall at 9.40  so it was only 15 minutes of buying spectacle , still he managed to get 3 staff member involved and tried  half dozen shirts with me looking disgusted all the time. But salesperson being adamant that they are closing at 10.00 on the dot helped to speed decision.
Then I suggested since we are already there why not to visit BBB in time for the show so we went.
Both my favorites Art and Handsome Cambodian / now Handsome Cambodian I/ were missing , not that tonight it mattered but we admired  all boys present as much as one can admire them being dressed in shirts and jeans, watched show a bit changed from August. I noticed Keow is back in the show. Bar was a little remodeled and what was surprising only perhaps half full.
After the show we went toward  Wat Chai where we had some  delicious looking and tasting street food   and soon we were back on our way to his bar where he was supposed to take his things from  to my hotel as by that time I decided hell or high water, I’m taking him to the airport tomorrow. Marching to a bar through Complex subject of Z being fond of Cherubic was brought again and I intervened simply by saying that if he wants we are taking him with us, Z job was only to make sure he wants to go and how much his compensation should be .
Sure I had hots for Handsome Cambodian II but it would be excessive to take him with our trio  but while Z was gathering his stuff , talking with Z and bar colleagues he is leaving behind , l asked him  to seat with me if only to ask if Handsome Cambodian I from BBB is his brother as similarities are striking  but no, it turned out to be just coincidence. Nevertheless I will have him in my mind next time I’m there which may be tomorrow or next year ( remember I booked Baan Souy for 2 nights just in case ), to reinforce he will smile and as thank you gesture for tonight I gave him few red notes. 300 off fee for Cherubic  paid , as it was late we took motorsais to the hotel at 50 baht  a head.
In the room I let guys to have their fun helping here and there. Z was in 7th heaven to have his dream realized and without going to too much of detail , exceeded expectations. It was probably good that hotel was emptyish that night as certainly we weren’t that quiet  and only when our companion was leaving we realized that we left veranda door to our room opened. We can only hope nobody was peeking inside as I’m not sure we combed out hairs before we went to the bed.
While I offered our guest option of staying till morning he preferred to go home so gave him 100 baht for motorsai on top of well deserved , twice above the market tip but what is fair it’s fair. He left happy and we , after finally closing door , stay inside happy and still active almost till sunrise. My last night fast certainly helped. Great and memorable day 4 even if better half of it was wasted on ‘other stuff’  ( Ok , wasted only in context of this report ).

Day 3
Advantage of travelling light is that packing will not take long so after Yoyo left I packed up and rolled my suitcase to Red Planet, about 500 meters away. Room was not ready  which was not surprising as it was still morning  and I expected that so left suitcase there and spent almost all daylight time busy with   “ other stuff”.
Today is day 3 , traditionally my worst when comes to jet lag. Very busy yesterday, active last night, busy day today so when I finally checked into my room in the late afternoon I had energy only to check messages on the forum and make  two steps toward the bed (rooms at Red Planet as quite small) and collapsed with deep sleep till almost 10 p.m.  It would be shame if I slept longer as at 11.15 I was supposed to meet GoldMember and Anddy in soi 4.
Few more words about Red Planet on top of what I said in day 1. Rooms are  small and there’ s not much room for wardrobe for which there are few hangers on the massive hook. But there’s  something like desk and night stands, safety box,  kettle, 2 mugs , small fridge, shelf for toiletries in the washroom and quite sizable shower. In short , everything most of travelers may require. Relative lack of space is forcing one to be organized with stuff in the room.  Reception is on 2nd floor which means nobody bothers you with checking on your visitors. There’s 7/11 in the building as well as pizzeria Scozzi where for 200 baht one can have a decent breakfast. Patpong and BTS are in walk-able distance, hotel stands beside Amara, where Narathiwas joins Suriwong .  
So I waked up just in time to freshen up and marched toward soi 4 by the way of Screwboys because Yoyo forget  cigarettes  I gave him so I hand delivered them to his place. In soi 4 I parked myself in Welcome bar across from Jupiter, ordered drink  for myself and one of waiters  so I had somebody to embrace and sort of talk to and  not before long I saw somebody approaching with broad smile so no doubt it was GoldMember and yes,  it was him.
Soon after Anddy  showed up so we changed scenery to Jupiter  where we still caught  some show and surveyed their handsome stuff. I noted absence of my regular from there Oud but since offing mood eluded me today I did not even ask if he is there. Before midnight we went to Moonlight  just in time for their second show and models presentation. A was there so I asked him to join me for a drink and some embraces but loyally told him , off s not in the card tonight. He seemed a bit disappointed but I decided today to have day of chastity to balance budget and sleep pattern, smart move considering excesses of the following night.
As bars are not very conductive to talking even if music level at Moonlight in comparison to idiotic noise at Jupiter and Dreamboys  is very decent we spent good hour in front of bar talking about our experiences  and listening to Gold sharing impressions of parenthood and challenges  of visiting Bangkok   in company of small child. I learned new term ‘ gaybies’ which means babies by gay parents.
 It was well after 2 am when we went our ways and me finally noticing that on order to see the light in the morning I need to eat something so went to red Planet by way of Foodland where they seem to have never ending supply of my favorite dish. Restaurant was quite busy with working girls and boys dining at end of their shift but unfortunately or rather fortunately I did not see any familiar faces so I finished my day 3 walking to my room alone. Strange feeling for Bangkok, believe you me,

Day 2
Some of you may already noticed that one of things I hate the most is when my guy announces that he wants to go. I believe it’s my call to say when meeting is over , of course within reason.
 Some of my regulars sensed it  and instead off announcing they want to go  they smartly say they are hungry – after all they were hired till breakfast.  That exactly was a case with A in the morning but today that was no problem as I had that ‘ other stuff ‘ to do so well before 8 a.m.  world already saw us breakfasting. After that we went our own ways but not before I secured his return at 3 p.m. for a short Brexit options discussion.
 I also sent a message to a Gold Member that I will be passing by his hotel at 11.00 so if he is free we can shake hands in the lobby. As it turned out he got it too late but since it was my call I wait perhaps  10 minutes and moved on secured in knowledge we will meet tomorrow evening,
In the hotel I checked forum and there was very recent message that DrimVoiz and 18past 19 are lunching at Foodland and they will be happy if I join them so I rushed up . Timing was perfect as their meals just arrived , I ordered mine and it was not you know what but whatever Drim was eating- some Japanese  dish. Anyways our dishes were getting cold because we had so much stuff to discuss  and all of that not really suitable for public place so I suggested we move  to my  room.
Tarntawan of course demanded them to leave ID’s  so we had good laugh, old guy dragging with him two handsome Asians in broad daylight this is what elevator guy with the register must have thought !
Great  meeting , we talked like we know each other for millennium not just since yesterday. I was very interested about 18past19's  assessment of his last night off from Moonlight as I have designs on the guy and was relieved to learn he  was great guy. Even more interesting were   his impressions from meeting with Babe the model and gain he confirmed that   guy is great but bit shy in the room. Drim shared his  impression from  yesterday’s time with Mr. Sex God and to keep meeting in proper style I offered tea / coffee selection, go imagine how classy it was, LOL.
Since at 3 p.m. I was expecting A both gentlemen were eager to shake hands with him and yes , 3 on the dot there was call from reception and I instructed them to let him in, drawer at elevator desk filled with ID’s on my guests today.
Soon we and I  were left alone to pick up where we had left in the morning. This only warmed me up so after he left at 5 , soon I trailed him outside and went  toward Patpong 2 to see how Bangkok Massage is doing at new location – my first visit there.  Few guys outside but one of them  stand out by his sizable pecs  so he was my choice. Regretfully only 1 hr. session  as I was hoping paulsf will stop on his last day by Hot Male outside bar and I wanted to say good bye. At 10 p.m. I was expecting M from Senso as promised yesterday but on entry somebody from reception called me by last name and announced that he just called and won’t be able to come. This was a bit like bucket of cold water because I really was looking forward  to solve Greek public debt problem with him but what one can do? Smile through the tears I guess.
In meantime my Guardian Angel  got busy because not long after I entered room there was call from reception that M arrived so again they had some ID to register.
He was very apologetic , explained his reason for skipping tonight’s  LT  and  since he came in person to give his excuses my only option was smile , forget  and let it go.  For me it was high class act and very manly thing to do, explain himself in person.  This way he is still very,  very high in my books  but we did not part without me trying to ask him to say at least 1 hr. or so and he agreed . I must say we made it very romantic  hour , one to remember . One of those QBE’s ( Quasi Boyfriend Experience ), we almost forget to undress  LOL .

It was actually me who signalized  time to go as I had ‘ other stuff ‘ to do. One of very few cases when I gave guy taxi money without him even asking but he energized me for very busy day ahead.

Day 1
My end of August trip was in some sense unique as before I even left home I knew I will be back in Thailand in  a month or so. Purpose of that second trip has nothing to do with guys , bars , entertainment or even sightseeing. In fact I was not even sure I will be able to partake in those activities while there at all, not to mention to meet other members, it’s why I kept quiet about that.
But it is small jubilee  as my  20th  trip to Land of Smiles
It worked better than expected in both original purpose of trip  and me being able to unshackle myself from other chores at least in the evenings and have  lot of fun in meantime. So whenever I mention ‘ other activities “ it means my time was spent far from Silom and it’s charms , on original purpose of that trip .
It’s why on the first day , even if landed before noon I was able to settle in Tarntawan   well into afternoon. There are signs that rooms were renovated , at least carpet was removed but clearly this is not  a gay hotel anymore  but still can be recommended  as good location and value, specially that I managed to have breakfast included in the rate.
7th floor room had actually pleasant  view of  MahaNakhon as a bonus,  but it was bearing clear smell of being smoking room but despite of requesting non-smoking one I decided to let it go. Knowing that Drim Voiz is in BKK I messaged him that I’m heading to Foodland Patpong for a dinner and we can meet there.
It was not clear how  as we never met before and did not even exchange any description of ourselves but  soon  after my first this trip chicken  with cashew nut serving landed in front of me I noticed young handsome man entering store and standing shyly beside then door like waiting for somebody.  Minute or two later I decided to be brave one out of two of us  , went and asked ‘ are you Drim?”. Bingo !
As Foodland is not necessarily venue to discuss what we are interested in I suggested we change scenery to my room where we can talk without hushing voices.  At elevator Drim was asked  to leave his ID , we had both laugh at that measure  but it was only first out of many cases I scandalized staff at hotel during my two nights stay there.
Soon we discovered that Drim has a date scheduled  close to Senso and Siri Sathorn hotel where I was heading anyways so  we left, first to his hotel Red Planet where he picked up some stuff for his date and I admired in meantime view and a room , not very spacious but well organized and maintained, very modern with everything in place. Just like  Nantra Silom  but more expensive , clearly that 10 $ price difference shower in much better maintenance at Red Planet. Walking toward our destinations it was nice to see how excited my friend is with  his incoming encounter, I wished him luck at his destination and I continued  few steps to Siri Sathorn where in the lobby another member, CTCI8F,  was waiting.
Again we never met before  buy gaydars worked perfect  and we recognized each other immediately , not even sure who was first . Poor versing of  my initial report in Moonlight thread resulted in Paulsf being  suspected of offing three guys at once , not that it is reason for embarrassment or something. My apologies to my friend for causing some commotion and need   for clarifications.

Return to Bangkok, Shopping & Sightseeing

After several very relaxing days Bangkok Guy is again enveloping my arm as he sleeps on the plane. We part before immigration and agree to meet quite late to give us both a chance to unpack and run errands and, in my case, an opportunity to visit more of the new bars.

First stop is Hot Male where, with a couple of notable exceptions, the guys are a fraction ‘tidied up rough’ for my liking and the host could not be more charming. After explaining that my visit is purely exploratory so no guys this time, this is my first visit since the gay scene’s decampment from Twilight, he becomes an unofficial guide. A whisky in my hand, from the balcony he points out all the other clubs I must visit and gives a little friendly color on what I can expect to find in each, emphasizing that of course, once I have explored, I will want to return to Hot Male! And so I will, with such a charming host.

Dream Boys is good but not what it was. That night at least it lacked the ‘guys for all tastes’ variety that was its strength in Twilight. Only one guy caught my attention, # 60-something. Smooth and perfect defined physique.

Between my overnight trips Bangkok Guy and I spend quite a bit of time together. The high-floor pool at the apartment is a great hit. Fantastic view, plenty of shade so Bangkok Guy does not need to cover up and no one else around.

Despite frustration at our inability to communicate complex ideas due to the language barrier, Bangkok Guy is good company. I research on-line Thai language courses and decide I have to learn Thai. Good intentions. We will see.

We do our usual exploration of jazz bars and discover a new favorite, the lobby bar at the St Regis. The musicians are at the top of the game and the bar woman really knows how to mix a drink. Best Sazerac I have had in a long while.

Bangkok Guy always looks smart in a conservatively casual way but for the first time I think he may need a little wardrobe assistance. I do not like shopping, but having read reports of Icon Siam think it might be worth a look. We go Icon Siam? Yes! So next day we go Icon Siam.

On entry it feels like another bunch of high-brand shops just like duty free in 1000 airports.

Straight in the door, there is Alexander McQueen. $400+ a shirt last time I was unfortunate enough to need one in an emergency with no other choices.

Bangkok Guy understands me well enough to enjoy pulling my chain. He looks at Alexander Mc Queen and then at me with eyebrows raised and a sweet smile. “I like you, but I no Alexander McQueen like you”. He grins and leads me up the escalator

Passing by the Platinum Card brands, our first stop is H&M where he finds a very nice caramel striped collarless shirt, but decides to look further. Next stop is UniQlo. Jack Pot! They are having a sale. I may hate shopping, but I can’t resist a sale if the quality is good. Very nice linen collarless shirts. Bangkok Guy can’t decide which color. There is a discount for two or more. We get three. The new shirts make his trousers look a little dowdy. They have some very smart plaid trousers, also discount for two pair, so we get a dark pair with white and yellow plaid and a grey pair with white plaid. I give him the cash so he can pay for himself. He is very happy.

That last paragraph gives a misleading impression of speed.

I only shop when I have an objective. I find what I am looking for and exit quickly. Bangkok Guy likes shopping. Bangkok Guy checks out all the options. All the options. Even things he is not likely to buy. Partly he enjoys looking. Partly he wants to be sure he gets both quality and a deal. Fine.

I am doing my best to maintain a happy face, but he is no fool. He sees that shopping bores me. However, he knows that I pay attention to how he looks. So at intervals just short enough to avoid me going catatonic he asks my opinion and draws me into the process of deciding in which clothing he looks best. I survive with my good mood stretched but intact.

At checkout Bangkok Guy ends up in his own little que of one. Waiting and waiting. It turns out he has asked for everything to be pressed, which they do for free. 

Now his sneakers do not quite live up to his trousers.

After a rest and fashion show at the apartment – everything fits perfectly and he looks very good – we head to Center World, I think, on a hunt for shoes. Some sort of slip-on. I have a thing for good footwear. Good shoes are the one thing for which I will pay full retail. But not in Bangkok. I set a budget equal to what I would pay back home for a good pair of shoes in a very good sale and set Bangkok Guy loose. After much checking of options and asking my opinion he finds a pair he likes with an Italian name. They are well made. Fully leather lined. Mario Minardi. It turns out they are Indonesian, Italian registered brand. And on sale.

Later that evening we are again enjoying jazz at the St Regis. Bangkok Guy, in cream collarless linen shirt and dark checked trousers, crosses his legs and moves his foot slightly, admiring the shoe. He smiles.  

Our sightseeing highlights are the Museum of Contemporary Art and the King Power rooftop.

Art is my thing. I had no idea what to expect at MoCA and was pretty much blown away by the creativity of what was in many cases a contemporary take on traditional Thai art. Next trip I will visit the contemporary dealer galleries.

If you haven’t been to the King Power viewing deck, go. The view is spectacular. Bangkok Guy and I had great fun photographing each other ‘suspended in air’ on the glass deck. However, the only way out is via a compulsory trek through a supercharged duty free maze fit to bamboozle the Minotaur. Bangkok Guy loved it. So many things to look at. So many things to pull my chain over. He finally took mercy on me and got us out to the footpath. “You safe now” he said grinning, as he slipped his hand into mine.
