Both were indeed open. There are no tourists in these places. Last time I went to Rex some time ago, some boys were ready to have sex for money (30 or 40 R$). As long as these places will remain open, I think that people will continue go cruising. Entrance is 20 R$. As mentioned above, the Rex is dirty and smelly with sometimes lot of action on the sides of the theater or close to the bathrooms

I went back to some screen prints of that period. It was so much fun. A part of a group of around 25 guys were meeting at 2 pm Prague time to see who was going to be auditionned live. It was impossible to know if one person or more was going to show up, but as a matter of fact the days where no one was showing up were very rare. There were on an average maybe 3 guys a day during all week days of the year, and it lasted many years.
The models were new, 18 to 30 years old. They were privately showing their documents which were photographed, then they were stripping, wanking and sometimes cumming. During the whole show, the persons of our group who were present were making comments. Average next door type boys were regularly coming and from time to time there was a hunk. At the end of the show, we were giving mark ...
The guys who were coming were not getting any money for the audition. They would get money if they were considered a model and make another shooting first solo then with partners.

It is impossible to make sure that no one is not going to record the performance (video and/or pictures) and share it as mentionned by SolaceSoul. I simply cancelled my May flights (and will get refund from the airline) but I did not book anything. It is hard to foresee what is going to happen. In all cases as soon as the situation becomes clearer, it is obvious that the planes will not be full and prices might not be that high.
I am concerned by the places which may go bankrupt because of an extended period without any income. I really wonder if Lions or Fragata will be open again some day,

Coronavirus situation in Brazil seems to be out of control in some places. There were pictures of the he burying of corpses in the city of Manaus (certainly a proof that nor higher temperature nor high humidity makes the virus disappear). Officially, Brazil declared as of today 3704 cases, which I do not believe at all. It is clear that this does not take into account the people dying in favellas. In Manaus, the official figure of total number of deaths is 172. In the past 3 days, there were 340 burials ! In many cases, the causes of deaths are mentionned as "unknown" and therefore not taken in to account in the official figures of deaths linked to virus.
Political situation seems to be difficult for Bolsonaro with regular pot-banging protests from Brazilians urging "Bolsonaro out", the firing of the Health Minister, the resignation of the justice minister Sergio Moro, after clashing with Bolso over the sacking of the head of Brazil Federal police, the problems in the favelas, ...

Coronavirus protest in Brazil sees millions bang pots from balconies
People in Brazil have expressed anger at President Jair Bolsonaro's handling of the coronavirus pandemic by banging pots and pans together on balconies.
Millions of protesters in the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro appeared at windows on Wednesday evening calling for the president to step down.
It was the biggest protest against Mr Bolsonaro's government to date.
There are over 500 cases of the virus in Brazil, including two government ministers. Four people have died.
Mr Bolsonaro, who has previously dismissed precautions taken against the novel coronavirus as "hysteria" and "fantasy", has been criticised for his response to the deadly outbreak.
However 14 people who travelled with him to Florida to meet President Trump have tested positive for the virus.

Wednesday's loud protests began during a televised statement by the president in the afternoon, then resumed with more intensity at an agreed time later in the evening.
People in tall buildings and houses across the country banged empty pots, switched their lights on and off and shouted "Bolsonaro out!"
Mr Bolsonaro used his televised address to announce emergency measures to limit the spread of the virus, and a financial aid package to support the economy and low-income families.
Appearing alongside his top ministers, all wearing face masks, the president acknowledged the "gravity" of the pandemic, but added: "I want to calm the Brazilian people... we can't let ourselves go into hysteria."
However, he admitted that there were likely many additional cases not included in the official statistics.
The Brazilian government also said it would ask Congress to declare a "public state of calamity" due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It was not enough to appease the protesters.
On Sunday, Mr Bolsonaro was criticised for coming out of reported self-isolation to mingle with thousands of his supporters who were marching in protest at Brazil's Congress and judiciary.
His health ministry had earlier warned against attending large gatherings.

President Jair Bolsonaro condemned what he called "hysteria" over the coronavirus pandemic Tuesday, as Brazil confirmed its first death and Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro declared a state of emergency.
Flying in the face of mounting global alarm over the pandemic, the far-right president lashed out at containment measures he said would hurt the economy.
"People are acting like it's the end of the world," he said in an interview with Radio Tupi.
The economy was doing well, but now some governors are taking measures that are really going to hurt it... It's not like having groups of people here and there is the problem. What we need to do is reduce the hysteria."
Bolsonaro has sparked controversy with his response to the pandemic.
He had already drawn criticism for shaking hands and taking selfies with supporters at a rally Sunday, ignoring the recommendation of his own health ministry, which said he should remain in isolation for two weeks after being exposed to several officials who tested positive for COVID-19.
His latest comments came after the South American country confirmed its first COVID-19 fatality: a 62-year-old man with diabetes and high blood pressure who died Monday in Sao Paulo, authorities said.
"Unfortunately, this shows how severe this pandemic is, despite what some would like to believe," Sao Paulo Mayor Bruno Covas told CBN radio.

The emergency measures in Rio included closing the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue and the cable car to Sugarloaf Mountain, two of the city's most famous attractions.
Sao Paulo granted city authorities the right to requisition goods needed to contain the virus from businesses if necessary.
Rio ordered restaurants to reduce the number of tables by 70 percent to increase distance between patrons, closed stores in shopping malls and halved the number of public transport vehicles in circulation, calling on people to remain home when possible.
On Friday, the state had already closed schools, theaters and cinemas for at least 15 days.
Rio Governor Wilson Witzel has also ordered people off the city's beaches.
The federal government meanwhile announced 147 billion reals (nearly $30 billion) in emergency spending to fend off the economic impact of the pandemic.

Brazil -- the biggest country in Latin America, with 210 million people -- has confirmed 291 coronavirus cases, concentrated in Sao Paulo and Rio.
Health officials are working to convince the population to take the threat seriously, but some Brazilians remain skeptical -- not least Bolsonaro.
The man dubbed a "Tropical Trump" has at times caused outrage with his response to the pandemic, both politically and personally.
He tested negative for the virus last week, news he announced on Facebook accompanied by a photo of himself making an obscene gesture.
But under health ministry protocol, he needs further testing to confirm the result, and is supposed to remain in isolation in the meantime. He took a second test Tuesday and is awaiting the result.
Influential Sao Paulo state lawmaker Janaina Paschoal called on him to resign.
The president's decision to defy health authorities and participate in Sunday's rallies by his supporters was "a crime against public health," she said.
"The president does not seem to be taking the outbreak seriously," newspaper Estado de Sao Paulo said in an editorial.
Bolsonaro was unfazed, saying in his radio interview that he would hold a "small party" to celebrate his 65th birthday Saturday, even though health experts have recommended against such gatherings.
"Life goes on," he said.

If you want to read smart, synthetic and updated information on virus have a look at Tomas Pueyo daily publications. I follow him since approximately 10 days. It is really amazing. It started only in English with 20 K readers. Now it is above 30 Million readers and it has been translated in 30 languages. Amazing.

Last week end ABC Bailao was kept open. ABC Bailap is the place in Sampa where young men meet older gentlemen. There are many older people there.
They simply ask to avoid going there for people having symptoms (everyone knows now that you can transfer the disease even if you are asymptomatic). They also ask to avoid beijos (kisses) and hand shaking.
This attitude was very much criticized on the social networks
"It is sad to see the lack of resoect with the public in which most of people are older people. Not to be able to close putting people at risk. Money cannot be more important than the well being of persons"
Next week end ABC Bailao will be closed and I guess it will be the same with saunas.

The young healthy garotos can easily overcome the coronavirus themselves, but can pass on the virus to customers. Older people are more vulnerable to develop serious complications if infected. Now, you can decide if you fall into the "older people" category :-)
I am not sure that all young people can overcome the virus easily. Of course they can do better than older persons. From European experience, there are many deaths including in the younger population and 50% of people in extensive care units are less than 60 years old.

I was in Pointe last Saturday and it was not crowded at all. Sunday was my last day in Rio and I did not go to sauna. I am glad to be back home.

Pink Flamingo in Rio is going to be closed as from today. It is a much smaller venue than The Week, comparable in size (number of persons present) to saunas 117 or Pointe.

The benchmark is the E.U. average number of new infections — over the past 14 days — per 100,000 people, which is currently 16 for the bloc. The comparable number for the United States is 107, while Brazil’s is 190 and Russia’s is 80, according to a Times database".
"Once diplomats agree on a final list, it will be presented as a recommendation early next week before July 1. The E.U. can’t force members to adopt it, but European officials warn that failure of any of the 27 members to stick to it could lead to the reintroduction of borders within the bloc".
