I did enjoy going to Olinda and spending a day there. We used a local guide whom we found at the tourist information place in Olinda.
I went to both Blue Thermas and Boa Vista. Both had GPs when I went there (5 years ago I think). Both are located in a house with a garden. Blue Thermas, the closest to Boa Viagem beach, is having a scene in the garden for shows and music. Nice. Do not expect there the same number of boys as in Lagoa or 117 ...

I normally stay at hotel Heritage rua Fernando de Albuquerque, 5 minutes walk from Lagoa. Very convenient and nice hotel. Never experienced any problem walking bat fter Lagoa. Mestiço restaurant in the same street is quite nice also.

Pedra do Telegrafo
There are many rocks around Rio de Janeiro from where the view is spectacular. The pedra do Telegrafo is one of them. It is located 50 km from Rio, not too far from the Grumari beach.
You can go there and to the nearby beaches renting a car or go with uber or taxi.
You can start from the beach Praia da Barra da Guaratiba (1 hour one way) or start from the parking lot (40 minutes one way).
Avoid going there during the week ends : lots of people go there and you may have to wait quite a long time to make the picture that everyone wants to make ... and that a photographer present locally can make for you (10 R$).

How to get to the beach :
- taxi or uber is a solution. But at Abricó, it may be difficult and expensive to find one to come back. In addition, signal is very weak and you may have to walk to a higher location to get signal to call uber.
- renting a car is another solution. It is quite cheap. With Localiza, I paid 25 USD for a day + 40 R$ gasolina. I rented in Santos Dumont. If you do not want to drive much in the city you can rent in Ipanema or even in Praia de San Conrado (rental agency is 10 minutes walking from San Conrado metro). If you are bored to go to the beaches in Copacabana and Ipanema, you can go visit other beaches nearby. There are quite a lot !
All beaches in Barra da Tijuca, Recreio, Pontal, Macumba and Secreto and partly Grumari are sand beaches. From Grumari, it is sand and rocks.
Abricó is the only nudist beach in Rio. With Prainha, it is for me the nicest.
Praia de Abricó
It is relatively small. During week days you can keep your clothes pn if you want. During week ends, you must remove all clothes. A guard might remind you this obligation.
Some action may occur near the rocks or on the nearby trail later in the day.

The Centro of Northern traditions is also a great place to discover. It is a huge complex with lots of restaurants, shops, 2 stages for live music, a small museum,. ...
Do'nt go there during the weekdays. It is only open from 10 am to 6 pm and there are not so many people. And almost noone until 1 pm. But during the week-end, it is packed, particularly Friday and Saturday. These days, the center is open until 4 am. Worth a visit.

Spending time in Rio is great because there are the boys and beach. But there are many other things which can be done ...
I discovered recently The Maze, a kind of museum established by a Bristish Artist some 30 years ago. It is on top of Tavares Bastos favela. This favela is small and as safe as other parts of Rio in particular because the headquarters of police operations are based there.
A minibus starts regularly (whenever it is full) from intersection of rua Tavares Bastos and rua Bento Lisboa and takes you to the top of favela for 4R$. Then a 5 minutes walk will take you to the Maze. View from there is spectacular.

Tartegogo's 2018 comments on why you should go to this and why you should not go are still valid.
I would add that you can also go there on a saturday nite if you like really wild parties ...
It is funny to see evolution of fees : 20R$ back in 2012 (but it was a boy at a saturday party who was willing to get some R$ to buy booze) ; 60 R$ in 2018 and 100 R$ in 2023. This last amount is for a really cute lad with a very good body and face and who bottomed. I would say that, depending on the boy, fee there could be between 60 to 100.

Following recommendations of Tomcal, we decided to go to Bangu sauna on sunday which is supposed to be the best day there.
Bangu is located 30 km from Rio.
We struggled a little since the sauna Casa Grande is not well poditionned on google : it is actually on the opposite side of the railway. But it is well positionned on uber so if you use uber, it should be ok.

When you see the police car with the policemen with guns you are close (lol).
Sauna opens at 3 pm on sunday. Boys are coming regularly until 5 or 6 pm. We arrived there around 3.30 pm. Around 5 pm, there were around 15 boys. All next door types. No over muscular hunks here. Some twinks.
It is a kind of family atmosphere : we are received by the owner, there is a churrasco being prepared, drinks are cheap and good (the caipirinha there was perfect). The boys who arrive come to introduce themselves to customers. Boys wear blue towels. Customers white towel. So if you are given a blue towel, beware lol.
Compared to my 2 previous trips there (on a saturday nite for a big party in ... 2012) there are a few more rooms, each one with shower. No sheet on the bed though. And you can buy condoms but not gel ...
