Actually, I have gone through all of the posts, and can’t find anything here with that information, which is why I asked.
 
I seem to recall that a long time ago a previous version of this site had a pinned message that outlined all the basics. I completely respect that this is run by volunteers, but perhaps dumb questions like mine (lol) could be minimized if there was a basic “how to” post pinned at the top of each subject.

I’m in Bangkok again after many years. Thanks to recent trip reports, I have some ideas of things I want to do and I went to Prime massage to get a legitimate massage with a guy (my preference). They are booked until January 4, so I made a booking.
But going into the soi to Prime, I passed several other places. One I think is called 9teen, and there were at least two or three others with guys outside calling to me. Has anyone been to any of those other places? If so, would you mind sharing your experience?
I am looking for a legitimate massage but don’t mind getting extras. If any of you remember the Ambassador, it was one of my favorite places to go for massage because I could get both a good massage and get off. Sadly, that’s no longer there (and since I’m staying in Silom, I’d prefer something closer).

It seems to me that it's fashionable for (desired by) many in the gay community to have unprotected sex (i.e., without a condom).  Someone can give every appearance of being clean but still be contagious.

For a long time now I've thought men on PrEP have been lulled into a sense of security, that it's safe to have any unprotected sex.  Not true.

Just brief comments on my experience in first 24 hours. I had long flight yesterday, so lazy, got as far as G's for a meal, good as ever, brief stop at Banana Bar, and then accepted Grindr booking at hotel. Incidentally, no problem with Hotel, Le Meredien, indeed most of the guests are male couples!

The sandwiches in the grocery stores are as good as in some full-service places. Rosti and bratwurst is not expensive and probably tops out Swiss cuisine, in my view. (Switzerland does obviously have higher-end fare but they are not worth it compared with high-ending dining elsewhere in Europe.) Next time, I'll check out lodging near the airport, which is cheaper and very conveniently connected by train to the center.
I too noticed that a lot of boys don't seem to be working to get customers. lol. I think north- and east-european reserve is coming into play here. Brazilians break the ice for us N. Americans, but us N. Sounds like the establishment does not allow the guys to basically live there anymore. I have spent a couple overnights at Thermas, once when I had a crazy early flight. It was ... interesting. Some of the overnighters were very hot, but the experience sort of takes tawdriness to another level. I could fool around right in the showers. It was like that children's book about being trapped in a museum overnight, but tawdrier. The sculpture was alive and gropable.

I think this has been discussed numerous times in this thread/in this forum: Thermas is busy from late afternoon (4-5 PM) to early evening. By 8 PM most of the boys have left the sauna. 

"afternoon" - has prime time moved earlier? That would explain why it was so dead when I was there, about same time last year, usually after 6 pm.

So I'm in Barcelona! Just back from a Thursday afternoon visit to Thermas. Lots of guys there, mostly South American although a couple of East Europeans.
