You should seriously consider Penang or KL
Agree. Both KL & Penang are good options: flights are cheap & no visa to hassle with. Penang is perfect for a long weekend.

That's the place. It's Gecko Nail Art & Massage, I think. It's a mixed (M/F) shop, very close to Pub Street so it is in a convenient, central location.

I think Roadhouse does an excellent pulled pork sandwich also.
As for burgers, there's Mash on Convent Rd, not far from Silom Rd. Burgers are pretty much all they serve & I think they are very good. The place has a trendy 'industrial' decor & a big selection of beers on tap. Mash is situated between 2 open-front Thai joints so it's easy to miss.

I agree that you should be well rested & wide awake for the start of your Galapagos trip so, definitely, I would opt for the overnight in MIA. Have fun!

AirBnB makes it really hard to see which buildings have doormen and which have no guest policies.
AirBNB has a 'Contact Host' option where it is possible to message the owner of a particular rental & ask questions. Better to know up front if the owner has a guest policy.

There are 3 gay ones, and 2 are really well priced, the Birdcage and Pride resort
I stayed at the Birdcage back in November. It has a mixed M/F staff so is maybe 'gay-friendly', but all the staff were all very pleasant to deal with. I liked the location, my room was very comfortable & the garden/pool/restaurant is great.

Sorry I clicked on it! A lot of vague generalizations & cliched visuals of Thailand & Thai gay people.

GREAT posts & pics, thanks for sharing! How does the King's Rock in SR compare to the Crown Royal? I stayed at the Crown Royal (maybe on your recommendation) back in November & really liked it. The wide-open spaces of the SR airport looked just the same in November!

Chula is excellent, I agree. My other resource is Pharmacie de la Gare in Phnom Penh. It is, as the name suggests, near the defunct (?) PP railway station & prices for some items may be a bit lower than BKK. I have heard that virtually anything pharmaceutical is available without a prescription in Cambodia.

rumor has it that it was about no cashews in the cashew chicken.
No, this time it was about too many cashews in the cashew chicken.

For decades I've never found Italy very promising for us
I was in Naples 10+ years ago & there did not seem to be much going on then. I would imagine that Naples, like every other city on the Mediterranean coast of Europe, now has a presence of refugees from North Africa. There might be some potential there.

Chiang Mai's airport bus started three days ago!
Chiang Mai had bus service with several routes for a few years prior to Covid, but I'm not sure exactly when it started. I agree the airport bus route is a compromise between the needs of the locals & the needs of the tourists so it doesn't fully satisfy anyone.
The airport taxi is only 150 THB which I don't mind paying at all!

I can see the number of tourists from Taiwan and Hong Kong dropping very considerably.
Agreed. I'm not sure that tourists from mainland China, looking for a relaxing holiday abroad, would appreciate Chinese police looking over their shoulder & supervising their activities in Thailand. More 'limp spaghetti' diplomacy than bamboo!

I looked up videos on Youtube, and the shirtless boys at Double Shot do seem quite alluring.
Can you please provide a link or 2? I am looking on YT but not seeing any videos of Double Shot. Thanks.

Been there, done that, back in 2001, though I don't suppose it's changed much since.
I went to LP in 2013 & I liked it a lot. It was a sweet, relaxed place, but definitely touristy. Not much going on but it had a unique charm. Now I am wondering how the opening of rail service (to China & to Vientiane) is going to affect it. Are the locals gearing up for a big increase in tourism from China? Is LP changing? I am planning to go back in December so I will see for myself!

Obviously, you shouldn't do this like 25 times a year. It will arouse suspicion.
My impression is that Thai Immigration is definitely cracking down visa runs, where one departs for another country & returns the same day (or the next day).

Where's the cruising spots?
in Gay Thailand
Posted
Lumpini is a very pleasant place to walk but I have not see much cruising. It's really not my scene but the loos in Silom Complex (esp on Floor 2) appear to have some cruising action.
