It depends on why they are looking, what you have on those devices, and how easily you worry, even about legal but private activity.  It also depends on what definition you use of "boy sex".  As you know that term has a different definition in USA than Thailand.

They may also view accepting money as more akin to sponsorship as opposed to requesting a specific amount upfront.  Subtle differences in presentation of a comment can be received very differently.  Just as many Thai boys may say "up to you" when accepting payment.

This is an interesting post that shares a lot of different experiences and viewpoints. I am glad I read it.  I like that it involves some different and significant cultural and individual differences including:
 
Communication/Language
Sense of Time
Level of Commitment
Honesty
Face
 
I think many Thai are different on these areas just as we are..
 
I know upset some Thai when I use the word "maybe" which for me is a combination of #1 and #3 above.  But that is me.  Maybe someone else would ignore their request or someone else would say Yes and later renege.  I also have to work at it to keep myself aware of #5 and am still sometimes surprised or blindsided by it.
 
On a positive note I have had Thai friends who do a great job of managing  the five areas above, keeping me informed as to time and meeting up for travel. I have have been able to travel both within and outside Thailand with them and find it creates some great memories for both of us.

I would start with either Tawan or Dreamboy and tell the host what you are looking for.  With careful observation, you may find what you are looking for elsewhere as well.  It is not necessary to drink, you can just get a soda your juice if you prefer.
 
If you are inexperienced, I suggest reading the various forums like this one (and others) for posts which provide advice on how to interact with Thai guys - such as politeness, smiling, the concept of sanook, etc. It is time well spent and will help ensure things go your way. Given your interests, although most of the guys have seen and heard everything, when you get outside the pure sexual interaction they expect, some may be a bit shy at first. (The guys at Tawan are used to it.)
 
You should also stop by the outdoor gyms at Lumpini Park for a look.
 
You will have a great time if you approach things with an uninhibited attitude and clearly communicate to them what you enjoy.
 
Of course, make sure you provide a detailed trip report!

I agree with DivineMadam's comments.  I have visited Roi Et. It was enjoyable and inexpensive. It is a place that does not receive as many farang visitors and therefore, the people are even more curious to interact with you.   There is also a university there.  Don't expect to find a commercial scene, but who knows what you might find on popular apps for meeting. It would be helpful if you spoke some basic Thai.

Ok, now that I have recovered from laughing at Christians blog, I will try to offer a few common sense baht stretching tips.
 
Laundry:  I find out where a regular laundry is that has pricing by the load.  I then always pack a laundry bag and take my own laundry  to the shop, hand it over, get it back clean, fresh, and folded back in my bag.  It costs a fraction of what most places will charge you by the piece.  I have even on occasion told the hotel what I do and had them match the price.
 
Tipping:  I always tip a good mammasan.  Over the years as I come to know some of them, they have repaid me in kind by fetching my desired off for me to avoid the minimum drink charge, although some will still try to add that to my bill.  But if they do not truly help me, I don't normally tip them. I normally tip them about the cost of a drink, but in baht.
 
I also tip the folks in the hotel or guesthouse once at the end of my stay.  I put the tip in an envelope and tell them it is for everyone who has taken care of me during my stay and give it to the people at the front desk.  The more workers who see me do it, the better. They then know I take care of them.
 
Taxi:  Wherever I am staying I try to find a good dependable taxi and get their number to use when possible on longer trips or have the hotel fetch one of their preferred taxi drivers.  This avoids the drivers who wait nearby to prey on tourists.
 
Smile:  I almost always find that smiling and being pleasant to the Thai people always works in my favor. Especially when negotiating or asking something or some service.  Many farangs demand or act impolitely to the Thai or look like a smile might break their face.  You stand above the rest when you smile.  But of course, you also have to let them know you will not be taken for a fool at the same time.
 
Go Thai:  I also frequently give my Thai friends the money to take care of things.  This avoids the desire of some establishments to cheat the farang. I don't have to worry most times because they know better than to try to cheat another Thai. They are less likely to do it.

I got a very good massage at Indra several times from the same guy.
 
I have also had massages at Sun but did not care for the space/rooms.
 
All were for legit massage.

I find smiling and being polite are excellent ways to get the guys to pay attention to you. Many customers do not smile.

I also stopped using Mr. Toom.  I always found him responsive but after a few problems with the cars, I did not feel his service was reliable enough.

Normally I travel to Thailand at least once per year in November through January time period (it varies) and stay about one month.  I spend the other 11 months in my home country dreaming about it. But for personal and medical reasons I have been away for the past 3 years.  Before that I came every year for the prior 10+ years. Since being away, it helps ease the pain by reading the trip reports of others.
 
  I have stayed as long as 2 months and quite honestly I do not know if I could stand it for longer than that. I love the guys, but i lose patience with the "Thai way".  When I stay longer I move around and visit new different areas each year.. I have also used Thailand as home base to visit other countries nearby but for me they do not compare to Thailand.
 
I prefer BKK for staying a longer time but I always try to go to Pattaya for at least a week. On a few trips I went to Pattaya for long weekends every week or so and that was fine.
 
I have not yet planned my next return to Thailand.

Perhaps some others can comment who live there as I suspect that once you adjust to the norm there, it becomes easier to find what you are looking for. But it is different and maybe that is good sometimes.

It was kind of unexpected to find myself back in Thailand only 5 months after previous and quite long, three weeks visit . While I had my ticked purchased at end of Jan literally till evening of the day of departure I was not sure I will be able to go due to some circumstances but heavens cleared and after many hours in the silver tube I landed in Swampy on Sunday morning.
 
This time I decided to enjoy my vacations  and not to post until return home since reporting is quite time consuming and I had only two weeks at disposal.
 
This time I skipped BBB Inn and decided to camp at Nantra Silom in Silom soi 8, I like hotel's modern and airy ambiance and fact that they don't give a you know what about visitors.
 
No more express train from airport, just regular City Link but some trains are using more upscale carriages from former express. As usual exchange rates uniform across the airport but last booth just before platform entry has better rates so make sure you do not rush exchanging until almost in the train.
 
Great joy to walk along Silom and Suriong with all eye candy, despite the heat went for  a stroll to Lumpini park where almost stepped on the giant monitor lizard crossing the walkway. We were both scarred for a few seconds.
 
Going back couldn't hold anymore and turned to Playboy massage for my regular 1.5 hr massage with very adventurous boy and not shy at all, as soon as we were in the cubicle he took my hand and placed   on his developing bulge using this gesture  as a reason to suggest higher than minimum tip. Not that I resisted.
 
Early evening I took motorsai to Sukhumvit soi 11 , you guessed wrongly , not for Hero but Banana Club where I was hoping Tao will be there and he was.
 
I consider his massage the best of them all so took  2 hr course and I'm glad I did.
 
Tao agreed to accompany me  to a dinner tonight and few hours later we met again in Nantra Silom lobby. We went to Oasis on Suriwong , my favorite place and I ordered , you guessed it right,  chicken with cashew nuts.
Noticed quite  few glances my boy received from ladies sitting at the table beside.
 
On way back we went to Tawan to see the show and I was immediately recognized by Boy, boy who was my last off in Dec and first from Tawan ever at the same time. Unfortunately for him I had a company although he suggested that it may be place for three in my bed but I'm not that adventurous.
 
No fuck show in Tawan but also no ladyboys just men, men and men all over the place. Looking around I was wondering what the hell it took me 10 trips  until I visited that bar for  a first place.
 
Great night together although not that long as I 'd like since Tao wanted to leave at 5 , but he always does so it did not come unexpected.
