    Trip Report (January 2026)

Some recent updates. I try to visit at least one new place each time I come to Thailand, and this time I had decided on Hua Hin. There is a bus that can take you from North Pattaya Bus Station directly to Hua Hin Bus Station, but only runs once a day, departing at 15:30. The cost is 473 THB (plus 50 THB online booking fee) and is a similar bus I took to Pattaya that had a comfortable 1-2 seat configuration. The bus left exactly on time and took just under 4.5 hours to arrive. Upon arrival, as the bus station is a little far from the centre, you can take a shuttle (minibus) that will take you to the clock tower for free, or if you pay 100 THB, the minibus will drop you off at your hotel. I chose the latter. I decided on the Hilton as it was well-located and had a nice sea view. The room was big and well-decorated, however there was no bum gun (which always disappoints me when I come across this at hotels in Thailand) and there was construction during the day in the block next door. Around the general area there were numerous restaurants and bars and it felt quite busy whilst I was there. In my last post I noted how the apps were relatively quiet whilst I was in Jomtien, however whilst in Hua Hin, it was a complete opposite. I was getting messages constantly (particularly on Hornet), but whether they were from moneyboys or just horny boys, I'm not sure. Maybe both. One profile piqued my interest - he sent me a message looking for sex, but his profile stated that he was a driver and tour guide, so I made contact and ended up booking a tour with him for the following day. His English was limited but we got by. The day trip was to Phetchaburi, which is about an hour from Hua Hin, and he took me to a number of temples (where he taught me how to 'make merit'), Khao Luang Cave, Laem Phak Bia Environmental Research Development Project (where I rode a bike for the first time in many many years), and some cafes and restaurants. When I've engaged a private tour guide in the past, I was always responsible for paying for the guide's meals etc. but when I tried, he insisted on paying his own way. The tour itself only cost 1300 THB which seemed quite low, so I gave him an extra 500 THB which he was surprised and extremely thankful for. Thinking back on it now, it still seems a bit low considering he was driving me around all day (and comparing it to other tours I've taken in the past where I've paid more for less). I guess the only thing is that due to the language barrier, he couldn't really explain a lot of the detail at the places we visited. He also mentioned that I was his first foreign customer. Whilst driving back to my hotel, considering the app where we first made contact, I invited him to come up to my hotel and you all know what happened next. Sweet guy though and he offered to drive me to the train station the next day where he bought me an iced tea and waited with me for over an hour for the train to come. I think I will go back to Hua Hin at some stage as there is more to explore that I didn't quite get to. Through my research I know that there are 2 gay bars in the area, but I did not patronise either. The train trip back to Bangkok was pretty uneventful, however upon boarding, I seemed to be in the carriage with all the people who insisted on bringing their big suitcases with them (to which there was limited space to store them) so I had to wait in the aisle for a while, whilst people were organising their suitcases as I could not get to my seat. The train was a little late departing Hua Hin and late coming into Krung Thep Aphiwat, but it was a comfortable journey and looking out the window at the countryside is always nice.

    Bangkok summary

As I sit eating my last cashew chicken of the trip I thought I would make a summery of the trip. First off, end of December to mid January the weather has been great, not to much humidity great temperature. I tried to do things I hadn’t before and it was a lot of fun! I met a lot of people including at brand massage shops and I enjoyed it. Under Freshboys is The Dragon a poolbar is great for people watching and the staff is amazing! Tarntawan Hotel remains a good choice. It seems checking in boys is optional. Hotel could do with a refresher. Raya was nicer and I loved I could watch New Years fireworks from my room. Bolt was challenging but BTS, MRT and ferries work great and good value. Arena was, by far, my favorite in Bangkok this trip. Thanks to a massage guy , I know that’s shocking. Elsewhere time usually gets shorted not there every visit went over. i discovered Milo KitKats loved them! Loved my visit thanks tO those who helped make it great. One last cashew chicken for the road!

  3. Happy to report that I landed in my happy place this past Friday after a year's absence and also recently worked out that this is my 10th trip to Thailand. Plane touched down at 15:30, lots of people at immigration and by the time I was done, my suitcase was already at the luggage carousel. Caught the ARL (credit card is now accepted) to Makkasan and then transferred to MRT Phetchaburi and rode until Sam Yan where it was a brief walk to the Raya. I was in my room just before 18:00. Unfortunately I was allocated a room on the 5th floor, where the reception is, but I would find out that this wouldn't be an issue. The room itself is large and had a window overlooking what was Soi Twilight but is now a condo building (?), but there were 3 air-conditioning units in front of the window which blocked the view somewhat. Slightly concerning was all the black mould in the bathroom. Went to Foodland for some Pad Kaprao (which I can order in Thai now but still stumble every time despite saying it in my head numerous times) and then 7-11 for some supplies and later in the evening met forum member for drinks at Unicorn bar in Soi 4 before moving on to Hotmale. There was a guy there who was one of my favourites from last trip, who forum member also highly rated, however when we arrived, he was already with a customer and left the bar shortly after. He gave me a knowing smile when he saw me and I would later find out that he did recognise me when he saw me but couldn't remember my name (on LINE), but to be fair, I couldn't quite remember his face whilst I was away from Thailand. There was another guy from Hotmale who was incredibly sexy (I really am bad with remembering numbers, but he had a buzz cut and nice body) who I tipped later. The next day I got some testing done at Pulse, who are a little more on the pricier side, however I went there as my usual place (Pribta Tangerine) was closed for a few days over new years. The whole process ran very smoothly and quickly and all staff members spoke quite clear English. I also checked out the new Central Park mall briefly before going to Silom Complex to have lunch at Have a Zeed, which was quite tasty and highly recommended. Exchanged some cash at X-One which is my go to for currency exchange. I also tried to make an appointment at Prime for the following day, however the following day was already fully booked - damn the numerous white party gays with their beautiful bodies taking up all the massage appointments haha. Organised to see my Hotmale boy this evening incase he was booked again, and he said he would come to me at midnight. In the meantime, I met up with same forum member for dinner at G's (which was quite busy and am always amused at the very large plates they serve the schnitzel on), a foot massage just across the soi at Adam and then to Freshboys to watch the show. There were quite a number of boys in the rotation, many who I probably would be happy to go with, however I felt the quality of the show was not as good as it used to be. I arrived back at my hotel before midnight and my Hotmale boy came along shortly after and he was as excellent as last time, if not better. What I like about him is he really gets into it which makes the whole experience quite enjoyable, and he can flip-flop which is a big plus in my books. He was also quite chatty this time, probably because he is more familiar with me now. The next day I decided to try S'Sense as I wanted something sensual and not full service. Booking through LINE was easy and they were very responsive, and it was about a 20 minute walk from Sala Daeng. It is a quite nice place where there is the front building as well as two additional buildings in an alley behind. The massage itself was decent and the therapist was well-trained however it was not really that sensual, but there were afters which involved some body sliding, mutual touching and a handjob. Mixed opinions on this place, but I may check it out again at some point (once I explore other places first). The masseur was pleasant enough though with a nice body. Later in the evening I met with same forum member for some dinner and drinks at Connections in Soi 4 before heading to Dreamboys. I have a regular there but he wasn't at the bar that night, which I didn't mind as it gave me the opportunity to ogle all the guys on display. There were quite a number of guys there, many I could have gone with, and also confirmed that myself and forum member have the exact same type haha. Overall, all three bars that we visited had a decent amount of customers on each night. I'm in Pattaya now so I'll update on that at a later date. It's so good to be back here though.

  4. I arrived back home yesterday so this is my last instalment. The last part of my trip was in Bangkok and to be honest, did not go quite to plan. I ended up getting sick - firstly with common cold symptoms, which then turned into a flu which thankfully only lasted a day or two, but then back to a cold, a day or so of diarrhoea, plus this awful persistent cough (possibly due to the air pollution?). It was only on my last 3 days I was feeling better. I purposely didn't meet with any bar or massage boys during the time I was sick as I did not want to pass on my sickness as I'm sure they don't any health benefits and if they become sick then it would deprive them of the chance to make money. Near the end of my trip I met up with 3 guys - my favourite Hotmale guy who I saw at the beginning of my trip who I like quite a lot. When we are together he is focused on me and makes me feel like I'm the only one (I know I'm not!) and we have a nice connection - whether real or fabricated, I don't mind as he makes our time together enjoyable. I definitely will be seeing him again next time. Another guy I met up with was at Prince (and he used to work at Atlas) - I admired his enthusiasm and friendly nature, however I felt like the sex itself, whilst satisfying, was just 'okay'. I also paid over the minimum but he still cheekily asked for more. He didn't short me on time however. Probably won't repeat. And another guy I met up with is ex-Senso, but came to my hotel room. It was good and he is very sexy, but I didn't quite feel the spark that we had on our very first meeting. I would likely try again through. Other than that, I met up with numerous forum members at various places - G's, Banana (both outside and inside), Connections and Sarica. It was nice to hang out and thank you for being a part of my trip. The guy doing the shower show at Banana, even though a little older, was incredibly sexy and with a huge dong. I also visited some bars - Hotmale, Goodboys (quite a lot of talent here - I tipped one of the condomless big cock show performers and a geeky guy wearing glasses, as well as another guy I had met maybe 2 years ago but I'm sure he didn't remember me), and Dreamboys as it would have been rude not to say hi to my regular there (when I say regular, it's like once a year regular). He was happy to see me but sad I wasn't taking him off that night. And even though I haven't been there for a year, the mamasan remembered my drink order and where I like to sit. There are a lot of choices here and I ended up tipping this very cute twinky guy that kinda looks Japanese. In terms of hotels, I stayed at three - Firstly, The Quarter Sala Daeng - I booked a standard room for quite a good price however upon arrival, I didn't like it as it was so small. The next day I enquired about upgrading and they were able to offer a Deluxe Suite (I think) for an extra 400 THB per night (usual is 600 THB per night). I thought this was a good deal so I took it and was comfortable for the rest of my trip. It is located about a 10-15 minute walk from the fun places and it was kinda nice staying a little further away. I then changed to the Shangri-La - there are two wings and I stayed in the Krungthep Wing, which is smaller and a little quieter than the main Shangri-La Wing, however all rooms here have balconies looking out onto the Chao Phraya River. There were also some random fireworks shows which was enjoyable. Whilst the hotel is a little older, it has this 'grandeur' feeling about it and I quite liked it. Wasn't a fan of the European-style bidet, however I quite liked staying here. Extremely close to the BTS, lots of places to eat around the hotel and there is also a bag/body scanner every time you enter, similar to an airport. The minibar is also complimentary and they left so much bottles of water in my room, at one point I counted 10. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. And lastly Crowne Plaza. This is my favourite hotel in the area. The standard rooms are still roomy, the location is unbeatable and it still feels quite new even though it is not. Wasn't the biggest fan of the bathtub/shower combination however other than that, it was a comfortable stay. I even was able to receive a complimentary 14:00 checkout as I am an IHG member, however I did not even book through IHG. A little on the pricier side though. And just like that, my trip came to an end. I was planning on coming back in a year's time, however I may consider coming earlier to make up for the missed time when I was unwell. But then again, just being in Thailand, even whilst sick, is still a pleasure. Thanks for reading!

  5. I dumped my luggage in hotel room and my guy and I soon joined the other guys outside hotel entrance. There were 6 of us including myself and I also invited a forum member to karaoke. So 7 of us in total walked noisily to H.i.M. bar which used to be known as Sky Bar. The two biggest karaoke rooms had been pre-booked by other customers so we were ushered to a normal size room. Smaller but the sofa was stil long enough to seat 8 people and there were two long tables for food and drinks. Every room also had an en suite toilet so all our needs were met. In December, I had karaoke with Myanmar guys. Tonight it was with Vietnam guys so all Vietnamese songs. 3 hours of singing and drinking. Bill was close to 8k baht. We started at about 10.45pm and ended at 1.30am. Forum member came and watched for a while. First time at karaoke for him. When karaoke was over, one of the guys went off to meet his girlfriend, three guys went to another bar to continue drinking while I went back to Voco Hotel with my guy and we would stay together for the next two nights until Sunday morning.

    Longest visit yet!

Having just had my longest visit yet, I found myself not ready to leave. Why? watching beach volleyball (thanks bkkmfj2648). walks along the beach. side trips. food things I didn’t get around to (like boys town) and last but definitely not least the guys! I had planned to off guys from the bars. I never got around to it because with the apps they came to me. So many guys close by. I by far had the best luck on Scruff. i loved everything about Zing Resort accepting the lack of truly hot water. The water probably bothered me only because the weather was so amazing. Food, Sophia’s is very good, this trip it was my first time eating there, and my second and…. Baht bus, due to mobility issues I figured it wasn’t possible, actually with low and easy steps, it was no problem for me. best tip: going to Koh Larn Final thought despite a few vacant shops the bars weren’t that full when I walked past (a couple I never saw customers at).

    12/25 trip

Day 12 After sleeping in I had cashew chicken at Foodland with another form member, then shopping along Sukamvit mostly at Termenal 21. In the spa area I got a manicure/pedicue 650 baht. Interesting to me at least when I entered the section customers were just a few women, soon after I set up my shop filled with men as I left I noticed shops on either side had men. Men overall were as many as women. Later I tried Krubb ariving around 6pm. 490 baht including coupon for Sunday for 190 and one for Monday/thurs for free. It’s a nice place with a pool and a bar on the roof. For most of my visit it seemed mostly a S&M place. Though in this case S&M seas stand and Model. Most people leaned on walls or milled about. Occasionally some touching or someone would go to a room, but not very often. Not much privacy as even the rooms had windows for watching. At 8pm everything changed on the roof thehey put out some free cocktails and on 4th floor there was a “show” At at the show every one had to be naked no towels etc. It it was dark, to very hot guys stood on stage wearing light sticks around their necks as people groped and sucked them. The room was packed. After Krubb I headed back to the pool bar under Freshboys. Chatted with other Forum member for a while, Later I finally found the Roti lady on same street and side as Senso. I had it with banana, excellent! Thanks MauRICE for the tip!

  8. ATLAS TO REOPEN ON PATPONG 1...AS WHITE CAT BAR What was Atlas on Patpong 2 is now set to reopen as White Cat Bar on Patpong 1. As suspected, the reopening was delayed by the difficulty they have had in persuading some of their boys to come move from Tawan. Apparently, they have made progress, though, and they are targetting to reopen on February 1st or soon thereafter. As per the video below, the interior is now fully ready and it doesn't look bad. Regarding the location, they had originally intended to reopen on Soi 6 but found a cheaper location on Patpong 1. While my captain friend was sending me pictures of the progress on the interior, he forgot to mention that it was not on Soi 6 as he originally said it would be. That would, obviously, explain the reports of "no progress" from members who have taken a stroll down Soi 6. All's well that ends well though. The bar will be located across from the Music Bar on Patpong 1, on the Madrid side of the road. The choice of name seemed a little odd to me, but when he sent me the location on Google Maps, I realised that it located in the old Wild Cat Bar. The Wild Cat was a rather notorious bar, originally known as the Fire Cat, that introduced the really wild girlie shows to Thailand in the 80s. It long ago changed hands and changed names, becoming a rip-off ping pong show bar. Good riddance to the Wild Cat and I look forward to welcoming the White Cat. The new name is obviously a riff on the old one. It doesn't look too bad, does it? RYVL9150.MP4 There have been several gay bars on Patpong 1 over the decades and it has never gone well for them. The most recent were that batch of three short-lived bars in 2019 after Soi Twilight closed - SuperBoys, Sweet Banana and Chill Out Boy - that were doomed from day one. May the White Cat fare better.

  9. Speaking of TCS Spa, I had never heard of it (and I live here) until Shameless Mack mentioned that they have a new branch in Ari. There is also apparently a location in Charoenkrung. As I live on that side of town, I decided to give the Ari location a try. It might be my new favorite place. Same model as Klover, History, etc., which is to say higher prices, sexier men, and a more deluxe spa experience. For the Ari branch, everything is new. The spa is in a freestanding villa style building with courtyard, fountain, etc. The very service oriented staff are well trained and they are clearly aiming for a 5 star experience. Compared to Klover, I would say that they have maybe slightly fewer men to choose from, but perhaps better looking men (Klover photos are heavily photoshopped). TCS also provides full shirtless pics, so you have a better idea of what you are getting, and their marketing is um... more suggestive. From the photos provided I chose a fellow with well defined pecs and a six pack, as that is my favorite type, and made a booking. I generally prefer Thai massage to oil, but that was not on offer, so I chose 90 minutes aromatherapy. They do have jacuzzi suites, which look to be quite large but which I declined in favor a standard room. It wasn't huge, but it was nicely appointed and there is a separate full bathroom attached (unlike Klover). My guy took me to the room, a welcome drink was served, and various oils presented, etc. His English was near perfect, and we had a nice get acquainted chat. I learned that he had recently moved to Bangkok from Chiang Mai, where he had been working not in a spa but as an insurance broker. He was offered a similar position here, but opted for the TCS job because it paid substantially more. No previous experience, but he described the in house training he had received as very thorough and professional. He left while I showered, and when he returned he asked me to lie down on the table. All very legit so far, but I wanted to get a feel for what might be on offer, so I decided to be a bit cheeky. I said "do you wnat me to be naked for the massage?" Obviously I knew the answer, but when he said "Yes", I asked "and will you be naked too?" He hesitated for just a second, and then replied with a smile "not yet". So I knew we were in business. I did ask him to at least remove his shirt, which he did, revealing a perfectly sculpted body and the flawless porcelain skin so typical of the Chiang Mai region. I think I actually gasped. The massage itself was excellent--clearly he was correct about the training. Thorough coverage to include head, neck, hands and arms, etc. He was very strong and I was in heaven. When I was flipped over onto to my back, I couldn't help but staring at his physique. He of course noticed, and asked "do you like my body?" "Yes I do" I said. "Would you like to touch?" he asked with a smile. I replied that I would, and indeed I did. Not too long after that, all the rest of his clothes came off, revealing even more splendor. He was quickly erect and hopped up onto to the table with me, again being gracious and accommodating. At no point was any extra tip discussed or requested. After we finished, a nice cup of fresh brewed tea and a delicious cookie were served. I tipped well in excess of the suggested 500 minimum, and we continued to chat for a while before I was escorted into the courtyard and to the front gate. I can't wait to go back.

  10. Day 9 - TIT Woke up a bit late and we missed the hotel breakfast. So we went to a nearby casa lapin for breakfast. After my guy left went back to hotel for my nap. Woke up and walked around to find a place for massage, as prime was fully booked. Ended making a tour around soi 6, surawong and cross towards silom and decided to have foot massage at one of the parlour near olivia, probably sabai thai. Had an early dinner meet with an ex forum member at mango tree before returning to hotel to freshen up for tonights bar visit. Dinner at mango tree was great but we ordered too much for just the two of us lol Tonight, I had to scratch an itch about circus muscle guys show. Ive catch a glimpse before when i was sitting outside people watching before bar visit, but ive never really sit inside and enjoy their full offering. They have 3 shows, at 9, 10 and 11, but as with other bars, exact start time can vary depending on the crowd. I arrived around 9.30ish, and miss the first one. Managed to get one of the small round table near the center, with only one row of table in front of me. Ordered myself an ice mocha while waiting. I saw two muscle guys moving from table to table, trying to strike conversation, getting customer to buy them drink and as well gives them tips. One in particular was exactly my type. So I try to get his attention, but he seems to be very popular and was quite occupied. After a while, he finally notice me and come to my table. We have a small chit chat and i learned that he is vietnamese. Later on, I saw another familiar face, an ex dreamboy star, who is now also part of their muscle guy show. The shows features few numbers by the lady boys, and ends with 5 muscles guys dancing and after, moves from table to table to join you for drinks and chat. My eyes still fixated on the previous guy, who now pay attention to me from time to time. Obvious, he knows im infatuated with him and he definitely knows how to extract tips and drinks from customers. Towards the end, there is a short celebration of a birthday of one of the muscle guy, and he receives money garlands from perhaps his regular customer. It was unexpectedly very fun time in circus, although I doubt I can off the guys there. Forum member told me that they are heading to hotmale, so i told him Ill move there after show ended. When i arrived there, they said the show still hasnt started so we moved to good boy instead. Full house in good boy, but we managed to get a good seat near the stage, where usually it was filled by the boys during show. Didnt see anyone to my liking, although one guy were sitting next to me and do gave me some attention, so I did tip him before we left. I texted my guy from jupiter and asked if he has customer tonight, and he told me he is free. So i told him ill go to jupiter to off him. My plan is to just call the mamasan and pay off fee. I arrived at jupiter 11.50ish, when my guy told me show has ended. At the door, i asked one of the guy to call mamasan. When mamasan arrived, I told mamasan I want to pay off fee for my guy. Mamasan asked if i want to go in, i said no as the show already finished and im going back to hotel. Guess what, mamasan suddenly told me, i need to pay 200 baht more. For basically nothing. May i remind you that they already increase their entrance fee to 600 just a few day ago. And when i ask my guy, he told me there is lack of customer in the bar. While i was willing to swallow the extra 100 baht, since i can just tip 100 baht less, im not paying 200 baht more for nothing. This time, i am standing my ground as i told mamasan im not paying more for nothing, and id rather just leave. My reason is i could simply text my guy to come to me after and let him pay the off fee, so why would i need to pay that 200 baht for nothing... Or even better, i could just wait for bar to close and dont even have to pay off fee at all... Anyway, I told mamasan, because your boss want 200 baht, you will loss 500 baht coz im leaving and not paying the off fee. Later I told my guy what happened while im walking towards hotel. My guy told me he wanted to go drink with his friend tonight. I said ok, as my mood is spoilt anyway. He promised to meet me tomorrow night and told me I dont have to come to the bar and he will leave right after his part of the show ended. Plus if he leave to come to me tonight, i basically paying the off fee and im so pissed off that night, i have no intention to give money to jupiter, not that night anyway. Still couldnt understand their logic but i guess Im no longer surprised with Thai logic. And ive been to jupiter perhaps 4-5 times already this trip... Needless to say, i might limit my visit there for the foreseeable future, as I only off one guy from there, which I can get without going to the bar. At hotel, after I cool down a bit, and talked a forum member about what just happened, I open my grindr and found someone familiar. Asked if he is available, and he quoted a price and can come to me in 40 minutes. Guy is great and apparently he used to work in malaysia, but ive never taken him before because he worked in the south. But ive seen his face in the photos shared by those centers. He left after and i continue to sleep. Essentially my first night with a short time guy of the trip.

  11. not as much to protect identity , rather to let other people inform about their movements themselves if they wish to or keep in the shadows if they see reason for that. Few trips ago I had reason to make sure certain boy doesn't know I'm in Thailand already. He was offed by my friend ( boy knew that we know each other ) who , not being privy to my ' secret ' , told him I just arrived which spoiled my surprise. I learned my lesson and ever since I substitute say " I saw floridarob sucking nice boy in the open at Good Boys ' with " I saw forum friend sucking ugly boy in the open at Good Boys". This way it leaves you open door to boast about your conquer or keep quiet about it .

  12. You don't have to. Twice now since 2016 Americans have voted as if they were under the influence. 🤷

  13. And I honestly hope that you can make it in a year's time. I have it on good authority that the mayor of Bangkok will be presenting you with the key to Patpong, in recognition of your unfailing and generous contributions to the area and its denizens over the years. This will be followed by a gala dinner in your honour hosted by the president of the Royal Thai Philatelic Society for keeping the art of licking alive. This is supposed to be a secret so don't tell anyone but a specially designed commemorative stamp depicting vinapu au naturale with a muscled hunk will also be unveiled at this event. 🤫

  14. In ideal world, yes. In real bars have their uses, first being security. If something won't work, you know where to go and complain, something missing from your room, ditto. The same works for boys. Customer mistreats them they can ask for help. Boy doesn't show up for work and even his friends won't now where he is, alarm may be sound. Second - in bar we see what we are buying, we can touch and sniff. On apps it's on wings and prayer which I learned last week by call boy over for massage. Version which showed I the lobby was boy from picture just 7 years older and 14ckg heavier. Thanks God massage was great but great massage can have from 60 y.o. granny. So for people like me, where looks kind of counts before making commitments bars hVe their uses. And so it has for those who rather spend their 2 hours ogling boys on the stage, no matter how ugly, glass of beer in hand than nervously combing the screen seeking for that perfect match. Firing up smartphone rarely generates a trill but there's nice tingling all over when over approaches Moonlight or Arena, just to name a few.

  15. This will be my forum topic thread where I write about all trips to Bangkok (and maybe other parts of Thailand) this year in 2026. I am making at least four weekend trips and probably one long trip. I don't want to write them separately. The first trip of 2026 is a January weekend trip to be with my guy before he goes back to Vietnam for an extended period of time. His visa expires Tuesday 13th so I planned a trip the weekend before. I arrived on Friday late because there was a one hour delay due to engineers having to check engine of aircraft. Singapore Airlines 5.15pm flight from Singapore usually arrives by 6:30pm in Bangkok but due to delay plus long immigration queue, I only got onto airport train at about 8.30pm. I had planned to check into Voco hotel then meet my guy and his friends for karaoke at 9pm but everything got pushed back. "No problem. I wait for you," my guy replied me when I updated him on my delay. "I am happy you come to see me." 🥰🥰🥰

  16. Final thoughts for the Pattaya leg of my trip. Whilst I like visiting Pattaya and enjoying the relaxing nature of it, I think my heart is in Bangkok where I prefer the energy that the city has to offer (not that I am super energetic). I also found it interesting that the apps (Grindr/Hornet) were relatively quiet for me, compared to other reports that I've read where they found it to be quite busy. I can only hypothesise but I feel the lack of messages I receive are due to - I look young for my age (even though I am not) - in an area where the main demographic are older caucasian males, I may be looked over in favour of older caucasian males (and I mean no disrespect when I say this). In fact, I did receive a few messages from said demographic, whilst flattering, I am more into Thai (and surrounding area) guys. - I get mistaken for being Thai - not all the time, but maybe another reason why I get looked over. - I am just ugly hahah Of the messages that I did get, there were the usual faceless profiles which I ignore, as well as some guys who aren't really my type. I mean, yes I could have been more proactive and messaged guys myself, but when there are quite a number of guys with services to offer, I would expect some offers? That being said, I was always accosted by the massage guys in the two shops near Agate, and also Soda, and whilst walking down the street with the bars, I had some interest there. So not all hope is lost. But I think I find the guys in general are just a bit too twinky for my tastes. All in all, I did have an enjoyable time and everything that I have mentioned above won't stop me from visiting again.

  17. I'm now on the other side of the gulf, in Hua Hin, so I'll update about my Pattaya (specifically Jomtien) leg of my trip. On departure day, I firstly dropped off my suitcase at the hotel I will be staying at when I return to Bangkok and then made my way to Suvarnabhumi airport where I caught the Bell Travel Service bus. You can book online and it cost 325 THB (including online booking fee). I like to take this bus as when you arrive at North Pattaya Bus Station, you are then transferred to a mini bus which will take you directly to your hotel. The bus is big and comfortable with a 1-2 seating configuration. From Suvarnabhumi to the bus station took just over an hour and a half and I was at my hotel about an hour later as I was the last to be dropped off after the other passengers were dropped off first. My hotel of choice in Jomtien was Zing and I had booked a Deluxe Twin (thinking back on it now, not sure why, but it was probably the cheapest option at the time) however when I arrived, they ran out of my room type and upgraded me to one of their Pool Suites which is their biggest room type. It was on the ground floor just in front of the pool and had a separate living room and bedroom. Obviously it doesn't have a private balcony which is what I had wanted, however the spaciousness of the room more than made up for it, and I was thankful for this free upgrade. Also, depending on where your room is, you need to walk through the outdoor section of the restaurant to get to your room which may be slightly awkward. Other things worth mentioning: Beach: I hung out at Dongtan Beach most days (except Wednesday when the beach concessions are closed). I sat at no. 20 once, and no. 28 for the rest of the times (as these are well-marked with a rainbow flag and seem to be popular among the gay clientele) and you can order lunch from one of the nearby restaurants who will then deliver it straight to your chair. Drinks and coconuts are also available and there are many passing vendors selling all manner of things. No. 28 is run by a good looking guy from Myanmar. Food: As I love eating, these are some places that I tried - - Coqtales Restaurant - this is a relatively new place just in front of Zing (and presumably related to the Coqtales bar) that has both Thai and farang food for reasonable prices. I had my favourite pad kapao gai with egg for only 80 THB - I've eaten this dish a lot around Thailand and this place was one of the best I've tasted. - Friendly Burgers - reasonably priced burgers, fries etc. that taste decent. - Sophia's - really tasty food, I had the moo krob with kale and it did not disappoint. - Pizza Lovely - thin crust and tasty pizzas here, not super cheap with a pepperoni pizza costing 189 THB, but it was good. - โอต่อง(โค้งดงตาล)- this place is near the 7-11 across from Dongtan Beach and they serve the best khao man gai I have tasted in Thailand (and for only 50 THB). They were always busy around lunch hours. Barber: I had a haircut at at GLAM Barbers and the guy that did my hair was quite meticulous and did a really good job. When I went, I had to wait about an hour, and even when I was getting my hair cut, there were a few people waiting. A regular haircut cost 160 THB and a fade haircut will cost 200 THB. I didn't venture into Boyztown or Sunee Plaza as I was in relaxation mode and too lazy to move from Jomtien Complex. More in the next post.

    12/25 trip

Day 11 After sleeping in a bit, I took a walk in the park. It was another beautiful day for it. Then to work, well laundry. Turning off Than Tawan at Mango Tree and a short walk Otteri Laundry was on the left across from Amazon Coffee 40 baht for my small load 50 to dry(tokens only) same company as across from Zing resort in Pattaya so I was able to use my leftover tokens. It took about an hour so I had a drink from Amazon. There is also a 711 across other way from Amazon so easy to find even if it was a bit hidden. After taking my clothes to my hotel and chilling a bit I decided on Prince. To my surprise my Grab driver spoke excellent English. At Prince there were two hot guys standing (around 1630ish) one followed me in bringing the number of guys to 7. I would have been happy with any of them. The mama son apologized saying many guys were off as last week was busy. I wasn’t worried. I was trying to pick from my top three all of whom were smiling and waving. In the end I picked the one who followed me in. Figuring that was a good sign. notes, For 90 minutes it was 1500baht for massage 2000 minimum tip if you want them it’s 900 for poppers. So basically same as bar with massage instead of drink. An hour was a bit less and 1500 tip, and 2 hours a bit more. My choice was excellent, to many tattoos but an amazing body he liked showing off, stopping a couple times to pose and flex. He was Vietnamese and spoke English about as well as I do. The massages was quite good better in my opinion than the one I had at Prime even before he transitioned to body to body and then afters. All went well, ok except his facial expression, a natural one would have been better. No problem I just kept my eyes on his body. After Prince to Foodland for dinner and to pool bar to meet up with a forum member, furring the short wait I got to watch a couple of groups of cute guys playing pool, soon we with second group of guys left for karaoke ( I was lucky enough to be invited. Good time the guys were very happy with great energy.

  19. An excellent display of athleticism and physical prowess. His body is shredded and his face chiselled and handsome; gone are the chubby cheeks and baby face. Looks like he's all sweaty too.😜 He can dance but I don't particularly care for this particular choreography. Still, 10/10. 💝🫶🥇🏆 Shall we start the bidding at 20,000 Baht, all night long? 😉😅 I'm so tempted to take my aunty's advice and just go - right now. 🤩 joeymoonlight.mp4

    Jan Trip Report

Went to 27M to see Dollar, a favorite of mine from a past trip. This trip he had obviously gained weight but for me not in a bad weight. Still slim and great performance. Unfortunately my plans to see if him again were thwarted when I noticed on his line that he was on vacation the next day. Glad I took advantage of him as my first choice and I was rather disappointed the rest of the trip. Krubb- Nothing for me here. Not the place if you are older and out of shape. Paid extra 30 Bhat for a larger towel. FAFA Massage- I don't know what I was thinking. I was torn between two guys and honestly not sure why I picked the guy I did but you ever show up and you can tell they aren't into you. The massage felt like a Thai massage, just a lot of pressing and grabbing but nothing else. Like nothing else, sure he was naked and it grazed me a couple of times but never got hard. Never asked me to turn over so it was face down the entire time. KK Massage- I asked for a list of bottom but ultimately the guy said no when the time came. I didn't mind cause I would never want to force someone and we had fun in other ways which left me satisfied , but it made me wonder should I be going the Freshly/Moonlight type route. Mind you I have never set foot in those bars/club. I decided that maybe I just need to see the therapist in person and pick via vibes. Showed up to 15M and only 2 were available. They showed me which two on a iPad. Puednow, was someone I was looking at for a while, but I mean they have some great photos online. He didn't quite look like his photo but his body did and what a great body he had. Massage skills was ok, and the work was just ok. Not satisfied I decided to go to old faithful Arena. There were 5 guys , and 2 were my type. Probably the best massage/sex combo. They know what you want so the massage was the most sensual. Probably should have just gone there from he beginning. I also did get a massage at Prestige. I see why you guys like it for legit massage. I did get a hard during the massage and I worried that it would be a problem but it wasnt. It wasn't mentioned and he never touched it while I worked hard to think of something sad to make it go down. Stayed at the Raya and had a room on the 3rd floor. I see why you guys like it. Everything was great except for the bed being very hard but I managed. Had a room with a bathtub and the only thing I could think was that it would make a great shower show with the right guy. I didn't use any apps during my trip. Of note I made the trip to Breakfast Story which became my favorite breakfast spot for American type breakfast everyday.

  21. @spoon I appreciate this kind of detail in your reporting. It's useful information for many others on this board, I'm sure. And I totally agree with you: pricing is getting ridiculous and customers like us should start asking about value.

  22. After massage at Prime, we walked to Silom Complex to have Singapore chicken rice. This was followed by hanging out at pool table bar below Freshboys for 2 hours. My guy played pool with his friends while I watched them as well as the people walking past Soi Patpong 2. By 9pm, my guy's friends had left the pool table bar. They had to report for work at their bars - Freshboys, Dream Boy, Good Boy. I believe the only bar that permits their guys to report for work as late as 10pm is Jupiter. My guy and I went to Foodland and played chess for the next 3 hours. At midnight, we met some friends for supper at Happy Beer Garden after they finished work. One guy was drunk because he had been drinking with customer earlier on. Luckily, his friend was able to take him back to his room. My guy and I said goodbye to our friends. We went back to Voco Hotel where we spent an unforgettable night together. After breakfast, I checked out of hotel. My guy pulled my luggage for me until we reached Silom Road and I went to take BTS and airport train. End of my weekend trip. Also last chance to be with my guy before he goes back to Vietnam for half a year at least. Happiest but also saddest trip for me.

  23. The guys I met with whilst in Jomtien: Bar Boy 1: I met this guy on my last trip in January 2025 who gave me a bit of a 'boyfriend experience'. We were in contact throughout the year and he really likes me but I don't feel the same which is why I had to limit my interactions with him after a while as it became too much for me. I do enjoy hanging out with him and consider him a friend. I didn't tell him I was coming to Jomtien so the night I turned up to his bar unannounced, he was so excited and had to stop himself from crying. It was a nice reunion and I had a drink at his bar each night whilst I was there to support him and the bar. To be honest, the more someone attaches himself to me (outside the bedroom), the more uncomfortable and less attracted I feel (I'm weird I know) so when he asked if he could spend a night with me, the answer was always 'maybe'. I eventually came clean and told him that I didn't want to sleep with him and that I know he likes me a lot but it made me uncomfortable, and I just wanted to be his friend. He was surprisingly fine with it and he said he already knew, which to be honest, felt like a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders. We also had lunch together once and went together to The Venue to watch the show which was good and had many creative costumes. Massage Boy 1: I also met this guy in January 2025 and have been intermittently in contact. I also did not let him know I was coming, so as I was on my way to 7-11, I walked past his massage shop, noticed him and smiled and continued on my way. Then came the flurry of messages 'are you in Pattaya?', 'you just walked past me' etc. so later on I had a foot massage from him, and in the following days, 2 oil massages (once where he topped me, which he was very good at, and once where he bottomed, which he was not as good, but still enjoyable). I also had a Thai massage from him where I wasn't expecting anything, but still ended up with a handjob. He is a really sweet guy and very passionate when it came down to it. Grindr guy: So whilst sitting outside my hotel room, I often saw a shirtless guy 2 doors down outside his room smoking and didn't think much of it until he messaged me on Grindr and I found out it was said guy. He knew it was me, but I didn't make the connection. Anyway, we had a very brief hook-up as he was on his way to Sansuk but in that short amount of time, the experience was actually quite good. He was here on holiday and works in Bangkok, so I will explore that avenue when I return. Bar Boy 2: Okay so Bar Boy 1 went home a day before I left but I went back to his bar anyway to have a drink, and decided to buy a drink for another guy who I had seen working during the times I visited the bar. He was quite friendly and bubbly, and turns out is the same age as me (he showed me his license). Had been working in the bar for 2 months just to make some money as he was going back home soon. He said he could come back with me to the hotel and so he did, but I was not prepared for what was to come. So you know those silicone implants (or whatever they are) that some guys seem to have? Well he had that, and it looked really awful, his dick was nearly in the shape of a ball. I didn't say anything but I really feel for the guy as I don't know if he was hard or soft or how he could even masturbate. Anyway, we just had some light fun and he happily went off on his way. I was just kinda shocked! Earlier in the evening I also bought a drink for another guy (in the same bar) who wasn't doing much, turns out he has lived in Pattaya for 7 years and used to work in Toyboys. Massage Boy 2: I found this guy on Grindr and messaged him as he looked friendly and nice. He worked at one of the mixed-gender massage shops outside the complex so I booked for a massage and it was completely normal. No sensual and no afters. I think the venue was not conducive to extras anyway as the massage beds were partitioned with curtains rather than walls. Although it probably hasn't stopped people in the past.

    12/25 trip

Day 10 the line “it was the best of times it was the worst of times” comes to mind. i started with a pan au chocolate from Delice ( very good then back to my hotel and let my ride know I was ready. Then I waited, about 20 minutes after my confirmed time I got a text raising the price and saying they would be there in a half an hour. 10 minutes after that I got another text raising the price again and again promising to come in half an hour I replied complaining about this but about 15 minutes later I got a third text you got it raising the price and promising half an hour….i blocked them and left for the bus station so no idea how high they would go or if they ever showed. I should mention the usual companies that come up were booked. Once at the station a bus was just about to leave. So sad to leave Pattaya but excited to go back to Bangkok! At Ekami (so?) I called a Grab they kept booking cars the time kept getting longer then would cancel. Finally about 40 minutes later a car showed up. After checking it at Tarntawan I went for a walk. Prime for the first time this trip did not have a sign saying how many days they were booked out so I checked. 40 minutes. My back was sore and I’d never been before so I booked. After a quick walk I set down to wait. As I walked in one of the hottest guys I’ve ever seen was leaving I’m guessing a body builder in competition form. About 15 minutes early I got called then over to a different building. the other building had low ceilings and lower doors (I hit my head) so lots of stooping. The foot massage was painful I was ready for it to be over. The oil massage was better but not for me. I’m not sure if it was a new guy or what but I won’t be back. Then G’s for dinner. No sign of cat. Across the Soi the doorman at Banana beckoned I asked if I could peek and the guys were standing on stage (a couple smiled when they saw me) no other customers but I still sat. Soon guy who got away last year started smiling at me (so better mood this time) and soon we were off. I wasn’t chancing it again! After over a year of dreaming I had a very good time. He was a bit stiff so not sure if I would again but, very happy I did this time. He does have a very sexy body and bery big equipment.

While this is all true ( breakfast is actually 86 baht but that is irrelevant) it's classic example of so called in logic 1/ 0 implication i.e. Based on true factors resoning is still false. I take a bus and train because as, former railway men of 10 years I just love public transport. Row 74 logic is simple, nobody likes to fly I the back so probability of having empty seat beside is, much higher than in 40's. Doing own laundry is cost of traveling light, I'm in 2nd half of month long Asia trip and total weight of my luggage is 7.3 kg As for breakfast, is not the cost saving, it's the love of vibe at Foodland

  28. I would not consider Voco Hotel cheap. Room is small. But the buffet breakfast is delightful. I had booked it because Tawana Hotel was where I offed my guy back in 2016 when I first met him. This stay at renovated and rebranded Voco Hotel is a wonderful way to celebrate 10th anniversary.

  29. Since you don't say how much time you intend to spend in each country, it's probably a bit pointless to give overly detailed suggestions. All the more since it isn't clear what your specific cultural interests are. Generally, if it is traditional culture and history that you are interested in, northern Thailand has more to offer than central Thailand does. As some have already mentioned, if you are looking for culture, Chiang Mai is the right place to start. It also has enough to offer in-terms of "entertainment", both straight and gay. The food is excellent - many Thais will tell you that it has the best food in the Kingdom; the people are nice and there is plenty of old architecture, as well as natural attractions in the surrounding region. It has also some interesting museums and is the best place in Thailand to watch Muay Thai casually, with nightly fights and five stadiums in central Chiang Mai. It has interesting night markets, especially if you are there on the weekend and good hotels. It is not quite the "Rose of the North" that it was, even not too long ago, but it is still a nice place to visit. If you are already up north, be sure to visit the 13th/14th century ruins of Sukhothai, the capital of the original Thai kingdom. Spend a night in Sukhothai so you can see it at your leisure, rather than burning yourself out with a day trip. Sukhothai and Chiang Mai are the two big cultural attractions in the north, but there are also several other smaller cities that are worth visiting when you are up there. Close to Chiang Mai is the ancient city of Lamphun, which you can do as a day trip. Also easily accessible is the charming old riverside city of Chiang Saen. Dividing your time between these will spare you the "temple fatigue" that can easily set-in when visiting so-called cultural attractions in Thailand. If you decide to stay in the Bangkok area/central Thailand, you should at least do an overnight visit to Ayutthaya, the capital of the second Thai kingdom. It is only about an hour north of Bangkok, and while the ruins are less impressive than Sukhothai, they are definitely worth visiting. Additionally, the adjacent modern part of Ayutthaya city has its own nightlife area, although your friend will be better catered to than you will. If you are going to Ayutthaya, be sure to spend at least one night there, rather than rushing back to Bangkok. In Vietnam, beyond Hanoi, be sure to visit the old Imperial capital of Huế in central Vietnam. I suspect it will turn-out to be one of the highlights of your holiday. From there, it is only a short trip to the beach city of Da Nang. Nearby also is the old city of Hoi An. It's a bit touristy, but there is still quite a bit to see. If it is an either or choice, go to Huế instead. There are trip reports that mention most of these places, and I assume people will chime-in if you have questions about any specific place. Obviously, there is plenty more online. Chiang Mai is a good place to start, though.

  31. Ok, I returned from BKK today. I don't really know what to write, but to thank you all especially @Travelingguy, @jimmie50, @mauRICE and @khaolakguy for your input. I really didn't discuss the moneyboy situation because it was "I know that you know, and you know that I know" situation. But the whole ten days with him were so sweet. and y I don't really care if he is or not. he still seems to be very much into me. I think your opinions have changed my view on this. Thank you. I will be back to Bangkok soon to see him again. And I am at peace with this.

  32. You've both made very valid points, and indeed we shouldn't homogenise the various tourist attractions. They're on a cline with the great majority of these attractions close to one end, where they are not sensitive to social disapproval -- in fact likely to add to one's social status if one can boast of having been there -- whilst at the other end, they are extremely sensitive to social disapproval (we know what these places are). Our conversation can get confused if we do not make clear what types of venues we're referring to. Restaurants, boat trips, ferris wheels... these aren't sensitive, and it probably does not matter if visitors are shown on the business' social media, or on other people's social media. Mildly sensitive might be a tiffany show or a dance club with shows featuring scantily clad cabaret performers (e.g. White Party). People go there for a fun night; they don't take things further (at least not in the venue itself) and so there's not much to feel guilty about. However, if you're a school teacher or a preacher, maybe even these places are sensitive. In such places, perhaps pictures and videos should avoid patrons' faces; bald spots might do. Then of course, there are "our kind" of places, and I agree it is sensitive except to the most hardcore "so what if I'm a punter?" Here, the problem is not only social media, it is the way the gogo bars hope to sustain themselves by tapping on the hetero crowd for their explicit shows. I have long argued that having gawkers in the room actually hurts the core off-ing business. Social media exposure would be even worse. This probably explains the drift of clientele to massage parlours where there is a lot of discretion. In fact, some of the massage places even take care (like in Japan) to ensure that customers do not cross each other's path. Nine Massage off Sukhumvit comes to mind. It's appointment only, and appointment times are carefully spaced out. The business problem does not go away, however. All businesses need enough customer volume to be viable and profitable. If there is no advertising at all, how does one attract customers? One cannot totally rely on existing clients coming back -- though, in my opinion, thailand's gogo bars even make a hash of that by exorbitant charging and lack of quality control over boys' services. One has to continually bring in new customers as old ones drift away or quite literally die. Word of mouth alone isn't enough. So, advertising cannot be avoided; the question is how to do it right. And this is where niche businesses (e.g. gay sex) have to learn to use niche channels and/or communicate in code. It's a delicate art.

  33. Day 8 - There's a first for everything After my guy left, after breakfast, I started planning my next trip to Phnom Penh. Planning to stay there 4 nights after my bangkok trip, and so far, it will be only me. A bit more texting and gossipping before I dozed off, and woke up in the afternoon. Texted Klover to book highly recommended guy from massage insider, and managed to book a slot at 8pm for a 90min oil massage session. Texted forum member about our tonight's plan and also asked if he had lunch already. We decided to eat Phrigkiao, near siam square, since im craving thier hatyai fried chicken. We ordered few other dishes to share. After lunch we parted ways. Went back to furama and texted an ex forum member for a coffee at UFO doughnut and Coffee, and of course to catch up. Back to hotel for a rest before going to Klover for my session. Massage session was bad, while he seems to have basic skills, he uses too much oils, and spent way too much on my back and shoulder only. Clearly 90min was a waste. The only saviour is he is a hunk, so the after was acceptable. Although he did one thing that most masseur dont do, and face wise, not my type so that would color my judgement a bit. Made my way to Midnight bar to meet forum member before heading to our next destination. Tonight, I off one of the waiter, just for karaoke. Once all the parties arrived, we made our way to Sky bar, or new name, H.I.M bar, off soi 6 silom, near Super A bar. The karaoke session started slow, with the guys ordering foods and of course, alcohol. But as the night progress, and later we were joined by two other forum members, things picked up and I definitely enjoyed the session immensely, a highlight of the trip for me. Songs were a compilation of english, myanmar, thai malay, and even dutch! We parted way around 1 am, and the guy I have prebooked tonight already texted me that he can meet me. I asked if he wanted to meet me at Sky bar or go to my hotel and he said he can wait at my hotel. Took bolt to my hotel and saw my guy waited in the lobby. Another repeat, a second one this trip. But its the first bad massage ive had this trip, on my first try of klover, and a first time I off a guy for karaoke/drink.

  34. I've learned to take what participants on an anonymous internet forum say with a bucketful of salt. In fact, I do the same when having a chat with the farang I run into in Thailand. In the margins of Thai society where the rules are different and where most farang are ensconced, they are free to re-invent and talk themselves up as they do. I just smile politely and think of it as a few minutes of harmless entertainment. I don't take them seriously and I never get offended. Who they are and what they say isn't a reflection of who I am.

    12/25 trip

Day 13 Early ish start, woke up and invited guy from apps. Turns out he is from Madagascar and lives in Pattaya. That makes 3 this trip watch out OldSaddy I’m coming for your record😛. My timing was good as he was checking out when I texted so had his bag with him. After he left for Pattaya and I for Pratanum Mall. Huge, good prices and behind central world across a canal with boats I didn’t know was there, the hey are connected by an elevated walkway. Later I decided to try side ariving at 8 for first show . Admission is 300 baht with one non alcoholic drink or 400 with two. You get a wristband slowing in and out for the night. Located on the upper floor of Soi with Wall Street hotel. Side has a nice set up entrance and workspace/lounge on 2nd floor, dark area and odd room withe chairs and bunk cubicles on 3rd and theme rooms on top floor that occasionally some one would go up and look at. Other then shows not much action. There were at most 10 customers at any time when I was there. Apart from one guy 50ish who did not stay long. Everyone was in their 20s to early thirties Asian. mostly average bodies and looks. That includes the 8pm model. One guy who seemed to be manager or owner was built I also saw him in pics for performing Christmas week. I recognized him as he is always on the apps. i headed out fairly fast as I really did not feel welcome there. Across Soi on corner is Cafe Sarica where I went for Dinner and had really good Cashew Chicken . Nice place with big windows for views, initially my check was way off but I noticed guy setting next to me at next table had food and drink matching the extra items. Cashew chicken, rice and a coke plus tip was 300baht. i walked around for a while then stopped at Dragon the pool bar under Freshboys for a drink and chatted with the very friendly bartenders one of whom joked about coming back to my room with me, at least I think it was joking (cute but to small for me). At 10 I decided to look at side again since I was still weeding wrist band. The 10 o clock model was very good looking with great body but very offish would only let best looking Asian customers touch. Thrn to Haale which like Freshboys seems to have dropped their prices to 400 per drink. Lots of cute guys but only two really at all my type one I invited to sit with me very good looking with amazing abs. He wanted a 3500 tip for off and I was tired so deciddd to head back alone.

  36. Since I was late, I didn't go to hotel to check in. I went to the pool table bar below Freshboys where we had agreed to meet. Everyone had gathered already and was ready for karaoke. I hugged my guy tightly and happily. Our group then crossed Surawong Road to go to Voco hotel. I went to hotel reception with my guy to check in. The other guys waited outside the hotel and chatted and smoked. Voco hotel holds special memory for me and my guy. 10 years ago in 2016, I had been with him here in the same building when it was known as Tawana Hotel. My guy was working at Soi Twilight then and we spent a few happy nights together. The reopening of the hotel is a serendipitous moment for me and my guy and I definitely had to book it.

Day 11 Up early and went to Ancient City fast very interesting place and beautiful. Highly recommend! But it is a rather long trip from Silom. On the way back I stopped at the Erawan Museum we had passed it on the way.both projects by same guy as Sanctuary of Truth. None of them I’d seen before this trip! After back to hotel as I wasn’t feeling well and was tired. In the end I called an early night and slept. The beds at Tarntawan are perfect firmness for me, just saying.

    12/25 trip

Day 8 Got up and made my way to Pattaya Walking Street, then down to the pier and caught the ferry to Nabon on Koh Larn.(thanks to bkkmfj2648 for the inspiration and info) nice little town with narrow streets and heavy traffic. The trip over was nice with great views. i saw the temple, enjoyed the views of Pattaya, had a pizza. In all had fun. Finally I mad my way to the pier where I had just missed the ferry (by minutes) but the speed boat was about to leave or as the sales woman said “leaving now” The speed boat was fun with some nice skips ( I left my seat a couple of times) and soon back to Pattaya. I realized I had had to much heat so headed back to my hotel pool. The guy I had booked for the evening didn’t show or come online. Not one to waist time I did laundry at a new looking laundromat across from Zing open air so good for people watching prices vary my size of machine and temperature of water, I spent 50baht each. A bar boy came in and out doing his as well. Then I walked along the beach. Ride was out again. Lots of people at the surf’s edge with flash lights seemingly looking for something, I’m not sure what. I found Lychee Fanta at 7-11 quite good. All that while watching the apps. Of the guys I’d been talking to most took Monday off and weren’t online the other was in Bangkok. Since by this time it was just after midnight I called it a night.

  41. HCMC/Saigon I arrived by train from Danang. It’s an 18-hour train ride, but at least half the time I was sleeping and during daylight I enjoyed watching the scenery. I also got a decent meal and coffee along the way. If you have time and enjoy travelling by train, I highly recommend it. Arrival was around 730 in the morning, so my room at the Alagon City Hotel and Spa was not ready yet, but the receptionist directed me to the pool area, where I had a shower and a change of clothes. Thus refreshed, I consulted Grindr. One message was from an early 30s guy from Singapore staying in a Hotel close by. We had a nice quickie in his room and I set out to explore the city after that. On a coffee break I chatted with a 21 year old student and we agreed to meet at the cafe where I was sitting. We had a nice chat, then a nice walk and then lunch. After that we went back to the hotel. He was with me as I completed check-in and followed me to my room, so it seems the hotel has no issues with guests. We had no less than three rounds of great sex interrupted by cuddling and conversation. After that we went out for dinner and he returned home. The next day, I didn’t do much in the morning except enjoying the rooftop pool area and some reading. In the afternoon I visited Adam Spa (Nadam on google maps). It has excellent reviews on this forum and elsewhere. Well deserved as it must be the most aesthetically pleasing gay sauna I have ever been to (once my sight had adjusted to the dim light). There is a steam room, saunas and jacuzzi on the ground floor. On the next floor is a cruising area with several rooms where you can enjoy privacy. On the last floor is a warmish chill out room with an aroma steam room in the middle. I came around 4 pm on a Tuesday and there were some 12-15 other guests at that time. From late 20s to 60s. I had fun with 4 of the other guests during my two hour visit. Adam Spa is around 6 km from district one. I took 40 minutes to cover that distance by car during rush hour traffic, so next time I go, I will book a motorcycle Grab instead of a car. I had dinner again with the student from the previous day and we went to the hotel for another round of good sex and a couple of hours of cuddling and sleeping before he had to go home. On the third day I had an early afternoon hook-up. He came directly to the hotel. It was meh, and the guy didn’t quite look like his pictures, so I let it be a reminder to myself either to meet people outside first or have validated photos or a video chat before agreeing to hook up. In the evening, my fwb from Bangkok arrived, so for the next 5 days there was no need for saunas or Grindr. We had a good time visiting some of Saigon’s main attractions like the Independence Palace and the War Remnants Museum. We also did a day trip to the Mekong Delta and watched a show in the Opera House. It was dancing and acrobatics in the same style as the Hoi An Memories Show, but not quite as impressive. There was hardly any smog in Saigon and the city is actually quite walkable with wide sidewalks lined with trees and numerous little parks that also offer a bit of refuge from the otherwise chaotic traffic. Vietnamese food is really good, the coffee is excellent and prices are lower than in Thailand. hooking up via apps and in the saunas is easy, but judging from my one experience massages are probably not as good as in Thailand. All in all, I highly recommend a visit to Vietnam.

  43. And also, over time, Vietnamese, Lao, Thai and Myanmar acquaintances who I value. It's possible they all just see me as a walking wallet but I'm fond of many of them regardless. They have added to my life since my English bf died of alcoholism 16 years ago.

  44. Ninh Binh/Tam Coc and Hoi An I took a train to Ninh Binh and a Grab to my accommodation in Tam Coc, Tam Coc Valley Eco Resort. Nice little place in a compound with rooms with direct access to the courtyard/pool area. They had bicycles for free use, so my first afternoon, I explored the surroundings on two wheels, had coffee and crepe by the lake and later for dinner half a spitroasted duck that I couldn’t finish. Next day I had booked a full day tour to see the ancient Imperial temple at Hoa Lu, the newish pagoda at Bai Dinh, the Trang An Tunnel cave system and finally the 500 steps up Lying Dragon Mountain to see the views. On my last day it rained a little. That is perfect running weather for me, so I went for a run around some of the area that I had explored by bike on the first day. There wasn't a lot of activity on Grindr. Mostly other tourists stay in Tam Coc, whereas it seems the locals live in Ninh Binh around 6 km from there. So if you want physical intimacy in Tam Coc, I suggest you bring a date or try a different app than Grindr. A 14 hour night train from Ninh Binh to Danang and then an hour by grab brought me to Hoi An. My sleep on the train was better than I had expected, so before I left the station in Danang I purchased another train ticket for the next leg of my journey to Saigon. Hoi An is a very charming town famous for tailors, leather goods and silk lamps that attracts a lot of visitors. I discovered that a good part of the visitors are day trippers who stay on the coast or in Danang, so mornings and evenings are not so crowded, but still very charming. There is a one hour show every evening, the Hoi an Memories Show. It is an extravaganza of lights, music, fire, water, and hundreds of performers, quite a number of whom are bare chested young men. VID_20260123_201310.mp4 The town has a gay bar, Living colors, and a gay sauna, Rooster. On my first evening there, a Thursday, I tried out the sauna. It is a small place covering three floors. The ground floor has a locker room and showers, next floor up a sauna, a steam room, a jacuzzi and a balcony/smoking area and the last floor has 4 or 5 lockable rooms. I had fun with the one other guest there, a forty-something local and when he left I decided to try out one of the spa treatments on offer. I chose the one hour body scrub at a price of 500k dong from which the entry fee of 150k dong was subtracted. I wasn’t too impressed. I have had body scrubs in hamams in Istanbul that had me almost floating on air as I left the establishments. This was more of a poorly executed massage with the addition of being rubbed down with a scrubbing creme. I hadn’t cum yet, so I also accepted the extras offered, which was basically just a handjob. I tipped 500 k and the therapist seemed pleased with that. I gave the place a second chance on a Sunday early evening. This time there was at least 6 other guests besides me, and I hooked up with two of them, both local, one around my age and one in his thirties. From Grindr I had a hook up with a Brazilian couple in their 40’s and 50’ and some side fun with a local in his 30’s at my rooms (Full Moon Apartments). At the gay bar, Living Colors, I attended karaoke night on friday and drag show (just one queen, but she did well) on saturday and made out with a very cute late 20’s from the Philippines. On Grindr, it seemed that most of the local talent lives in Danang, so I think I will try staying there a few days, if I ever return. I think I may, as I have really enjoyed Vietnam so far. Next and final installment of my Vietnam report will be about Saigon, where I have only been one day so far, but have already had great fun.

Based on your recommendation of the "orgasmic pad krapow" at the Tarntawan Hotel, I decided to try it today for lunch. OMG, two bites into it, and I was breathing fire from the chilies. I agree it tastes good, but I had tears in my eyes from the heat. By the time I finished the dish, I must have looked like a mess, what with tears running down my face, and my nose running non-stop from the hellish heat. Eating this dish is similar to being pepper sprayed in the face, certainly not an orgasmic experience for me. I hightailed it to the nearest 7-Eleven to buy a yogurt, in a desperate but futile attempt to douse the persistent inferno in my head. Now a few hours later, the fire has subsided. Never dismiss the importance of specifying the spiciness level when ordering food in Thailand. Those chili pieces are devious, in the way they blend in, wrapped under a wilted holy basil leaf in the krapow sauce. And the Thais love to use both the red and green chilies in the same dish, for added intensity. The green chili pieces are absolutely sinister. Just a warning for others - this Tarntawan dish is the genuine napalm flamethrower local Thai version of pad krapow, not a tamed down tourist variety of the dish. Thanks for the recommendation, but I think I'll try something else next time.🔥

  46. From the point of view of Jupiter boss, he is losing 600 baht (drink price in December) every time a customer goes to bar and only pay off fee for boy. If many customers did that, he would lose money. Not entirely wrong of him to recoup 1/3 of the money. Something similar happened at Freshboys. A popular boy who performs in the show contacted mamasan to say he had a customer off him for the night through Line. He told mamasan that he would go to bar and pay 500 baht off fee then he would meet customer. Boss said no. Boss insisted that customer come to the bar, buy a drink and off boy. The boy was furious and quit. Currently working at Dreamboys and happy there. Subsequently, the boss of Freshboys dropped insistence on customer going to bar to buy drink before offing boys. Now boys just have to pay 500 baht to bar per night if they don't report to work. No questions asked.

  47. I wanted to add this as a separate post. Accommodations are much more expensive than pre COVID. In Rio, places are much harder to find than during December 2024, just over a year ago, even at a higher cost. Perhaps due to summer travel and the post COVID tourist boom. The mass of tourists was also true 3 months ago in October 2025 in Barcelona, Venice, Florence (and Rome). So. you will have to consider booking in advance if possible. I prefer to book at the last minute to have more travel freedom. When you see a mini split AC unit it will likely be fairly quiet, but some of the full in wall AC units can be painfully loud and they often rattle adjacent windows loudly. That is one reason why I left my first place as soon as the booking was over. Also, why I often book only 2-3 nights as a time. Second is true to pics, and yes, they lie: this place is painfully small. So please, check the apt pics carefully. Inflation: I think a Metro or bus ticket was 4.30 R$ in 2018 or so. M is 7.90 R$ now. Coconuts at street vendors have doubled from 6 to 12 R$ in the last 1-2 years. So yes, doubling of some prices. No idea how locals survive this. First host warned me regarding thefts: under 18 yo robbers are unlikely to be prosecuted and iphones are preferred object to steal. Also beware of motocycle folks grabbing your stuff. In brief, flash and show nothing and try to look like a local as much as possible. Even at Bangu, one of the GPs jokingly tried grabbing my non iphone from my pocket. I think it was to warn me to put it away unless translating to PT. Also, FYI, mosquitos and other bugs are out. Though not severely. That is all for now .....

  48. I guess you all have heard about Vidigal, a favela next to Leblon that used to be dangerous many years ago. It has been gentrified for a long time now, you can even find Airbnbs at 1K USD per month. Besides keeping many traces of its interesting history, there are a few bars and restaurants at the top that deliver an amazing view (check the pictures I took last August). This post is to let you know that a friend of mine, who used to live there, is now working as a guide. His name is Patrick and this is his Instagram: Patrick Ptk (@tpk_008) • Instagram photos and videos WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM 405 Followers, 1,462 Following, 18 Posts - Patrick Ptk (@tpk_008) on Instagram: "' palavras. vale mais que Atitudes ❤ #jornalista #empresario" I recommend him with no hesitation. Patrick is knowledgeable, fun, and will deliver an authentic and safe Vidigal experience. He is still working on his English, but language will not be an obstacle to enjoy his personal charm and this beautiful Carioca location. Contact him if you want to learn about the life in a favela and enjoy amazing views.

  49. I just thought of the massage parlours along Silom Road under the Saladaeng Station. Nowadays, their staff are getting on in age; some may well be in their 40s. By the way, I noticed that you've asked questions in the past about Hong Kong, Taipei and Bangkook (Klover Massage, etc) in preparation for your trips, but we have yet to see any trip report. I encourage you to do so, otherwise in future, people may become less likely to respond to your future questions. "Social goodwill" goes a long way even if it is subliminal, and it has to be earned.

    Hosts bars in bangkok

They're essentially bars with hosts to keep you company and entertained as you drink. It's similar to the karaoke bars with female hostesses. Their main and primary business is to sell alcohol, not sex. The hosts make their money from the number of drinks you buy them and some of the popular guys can easily get a hundred drinks a night (that's 20,000 to 40,000 Baht per night depending on the bar). The host bar concept comes from Japan, I believe. I've been to several of the host bars in Bangkok at the invitation of Thai friends but rarely stay longer than a hour as I don't drink and my tolerance for fools, excess and banal conversation diminishes as I get older. On the other hand, I might feel differently if I did drink. 😅 Broadly speaking, I'd say the guys in these host bars are better looking than the ones working in the go go bars. A lot have had cosmetic surgery or at the very least a nose job. Also, heavy filters are used in their promotional material on social media and they may look a bit different in person. Mostly Thai is spoken at these venues with Chinese a distant second at some bars. I'd say the clientele are mostly women (60%?), ranging from bar girls to social media influencers, online sellers and well-heeled professionals in their 30s and 40s. The composition might change depending on location and time of year (Songkran, New Year, etc). I've rarely seen anyone over 50 (but don't know about the host bars in Pattaya). Quite a few Thai women married to older farang too out to spend their husbands' money with hot, young, Thai guys. These people have got money to burn and on top of drinking themselves to death, gambling and sex, love to indulge in that other Thai passion - showing off. I laugh when I read silly farang whose experiences are limited to Patpong and Pattaya say that Thai customers don't spend. They spend, and often obscenely. Farang just don't know about it. There are bidding wars (for your favourite host), drinking games, money garlands for the hosts, prizes for contests...all manner of ways to make the customer part with his money.
