Breaking news - Peter Bar will open a second bar in the Jomtien Complex, aka Supertown.

From the photo it looks like it will be in the former space that the Sun Bar previously occupied - which is just meters away from the first Peter Bar (which was formerly the 69 Bar).

@Olddaddy - You might want to hurry up if you are going to open a bar in the Jomtien Complex - because at the rate that new bars are opening - soon there won't be any empty spots left.

 

 

Bars open and close in the complex and there'll always be room for a new one. Things seem to be on a high at the moment because of the two recently concluded Pride events but according to one owner of a popular bar and several bar workers, actual sales haven't really improved much from the previous two months.

I have only praises for Jomtien Pride Night but I felt that ambushing the eventual winner Apex in the sexy underwear contest with those awful fake fluffy garlands in the middle of his catwalk was in bad form. I guess it's a farang thing? 🤷 Apex had been given the sweet final spot and should have been allowed to finish his walk and only be presented with the garlands as he stepped off the podium at the end of his walk. As it happened, he could barely walk with all those garlands covering his beautiful body and face.

Moreover, you wouldn't want to discourage the other contestants and would want to avoid any appearance of impropriety or rigging. Don't get me wrong; Apex was my favourite too but I felt that the whole segment could have been better executed. In the many male pageants that I've attended all over Thailand, the contestants were presented with beautiful roses, and the organisers ensured that every contestant received at least one to prevent any loss of face. Of course, the popular ones received more from members of the audience.

Another minor gripe was seeing a few corpulent farang sauntering across the rainbow carpet as the contest was in progress. Couldn't they have walked a bit faster, waited or taken another route? Mai pen rai. As I said earlier, Pattaya is an aberration and that's okay.

So far, the team that I am sponsoring, Sunee Bar - our team has had 2 bowling practices over at The Wave Bowl.  Yesterday was the most recent one and over in the next bowling lane was the @Home Bar team - and well - their scores were always double ours - quite intimidating.  But, we still go forward to join the fun comradery that kind Khun Ron is creating for the Supertown employees.

You are completely right. But... I do like spending some days at the beach just relaxing. That's what Pattaya is good for, and the occasionally available hunk off course. You only need one to have a good time, so that must be possible even in Pattaya! LOL

I decided to interview all 3 of the Mr. Sexy Boy competition winners, as I was intrigued to know them better and to understand what motivated them to participate – as I genuinely enjoy participating in gay grassroot events.

July 18, 2026 Mr. Sexy Boy contest winners

 

Step 1: I created a set of 8 questions (in both Thai and in English) that I would present to each of the 3 contestant winners and send to them via LINE for completion.  As my former Thai boyfriend (FTHBF) was with me at the event he helped me to formulate the questions from a Thai point of view.

 

1. คุณชื่ออะไร และอายุเท่าไหร่?   What is your name and how old are you?
2. คุณมาจากภูมิภาคหรือเมืองไหน?    From which region/town do you come from?
3. คุณอยู่ที่พัทยา / จอมเทียน มาประมาณกี่ปีแล้ว?   How long have you been in Pattaya / Jomtien?
4. คุณทำงานอยู่ที่บาร์/ร้านไหนใน Jomtien Complex?  ทำงานมานานเท่าไหร่แล้ว?  For which bar/shop in the Jomtien Complex do you work for? For how long?
5. อะไรคือแรงจูงใจที่ทำให้คุณตัดสินใจเข้าร่วมการประกวดครั้งนี้?  What motivated you to enter this pageant contest?
6. ระหว่างการประกวด มีช่วงเวลาที่น่าจดจำหรือทำให้คุณอารมณ์มากที่สุดคืออะไร?  During the pageant contest, what was the most memorable or emotional moment for you?
7. คุณจะเข้าร่วมการประกวด Mr. Sexy Boy ปีหน้าอีกหรือไม่?  ถ้าไม่ใช่ เพราะเหตุใด?    Would you participate in next year’s Mr. Sexy Boy competition?  If not, why?
8. หากชาวต่างชาติ (farang) อยากเจอคุณ วิธีที่ดีที่สุดในการติดต่อและพบคุณคืออะไร?  (เช่น ที่ร้าน, LINE, Facebook, เป็นต้น)    If reader’s from the farang foreign community wanted to meet you, which is the best way to meet you?  (at shop, LINE, Facebook, etc.)

 

Step 2: I had to find a way to make contact with the 3 contestants.  Contestant winner #1 is friends of myself and my FTHBF so it was easy to make contact with him.  Contestant winner #2 was more challenging because nobody in my inner circle knew Khun Owen.  So, I searched for his employer in Facebook and I contacted them via their WhatsApp number that is listed in their Facebook.  I made an appointment for a 2 hour massage with Khun Owen.  For contestant winner #3, he is personal friends with the current roommate of my FTHBF and I asked him to put me in contact with Khun Manow.

 

Step 3: Actual meetings:  My first meeting was with Khun Owen at the Burirom Health Massage shop.  I arrived for my 2 hour appointment at 3pm.  Owen met me at the front desk and led me to a massage room upstairs.  This was my first time at the Burirom shop and I can say that it is more of the style of shops that you would find in Bangkok instead of the typical massage shop houses typically found here in the Jomtien Complex. Owen asked me if I needed a shower and I replied no as I had come directly from my condo already showered. Before the massage started, I shared with Owen the above 8 questions that I had printed in both Thai and English.  At first he was surprised and so I had to explain with Google Translate why I was there.  I showed him the various pictures and videos from the Mr. Sexy Boy contest and I told him that I was interviewing the 3 contest winners.  He agreed to participate in the questionnaire and he gave me his LINE so that I could send it to him after the massage.  I am glad that I requested 2 hours because by now 30 to 35 minutes were consumed.  His 90 minute massage was excellent and super professional.  There was no hanky-pank or requests for “extras” and he remained almost fully clothed (he removed his shop massage jacket and performed the massage in his muscle t-shirt and massage pants).  He is truly an artist in his profession.

My second meeting was with Khun Apek later that same day at 6pm (2 hours before his start time at the RedRoom Bar) and we were to meet at the new Schatzi’s restaurant.  Unfortunately, as it being Wednesday, it was closed.  So, instead we walked over to the SINT Restaurant to eat, which is just outside of Supertown on Thappraya road.  Apek is truly a very outgoing character who is a joy to spend time with.  He makes you laugh, his English is very good, and he LOVES farangs.  I can now see why he won the “Popular Vote” in the contest.

I asked him to explain to me what was the “Popular Vote” and what were the requirements.  During the beginning of the segment dedicated to the Mr. Sexy Boy contest, the announcers (MCs) announced to the crowd (unfortunately only in Thai) that the spectators should buy a garland at 40 baht each and place them on their favorite guy as they paraded on the rainbow carpet runway towards the judges.  This explains so much, because I was sitting at the table with my FTHBF and I remember he turned around to me urgently and said to me, “let us buy garlands now very quickly before they come!!”  Consequently, when Apek approached where we were sitting I gently stood up and placed 3 garlands on Apek’s neck.  However, in the corner behind us there was a large crowd of people (of which only 1 was a farang – the rest were Thai guys) who ran towards Apek and completely covered his body in garlands.  It was truly amazing.  Hence, why Apek was also awarded the “Popular Vote”.   

I then asked Apek if in addition to the 5,000 baht that was awarded to the 1^st prize candidate if he also earned money from the garland sales (as this is typically what happens over in Bangkok at the gogo bars).  Instead, Apek informed me that 100% of the garland sales were donated to Dr. Philippe Seur’s foundation = Heartt 2000 which assists those in the Pattaya area who are inflicted with the suffering from HIV / AIDS symptoms.

I will have a separate update about the funding that was raised for HEARTT 2000 in another update – because as of today it is still being prepared.

After our dinner at the SINT Restaurant we went over to the RedRoom bar where Apek now works to have a drink.  He previously worked at the Candy Bar  – where I got to know him.

Apek told me to tell all of you reading this that he LOVES farang and he only dates and goes with farangs.

 

My third meeting was with Khun Manow on the following evening, and we met at Tinnies to eat an early dinner before his shift starts over at the M Bar.  Manow is a sweet and very talkative guy and is also known within the M Bar crowd as Lemon or Citron.  He used to perform in the sexy show at the M Bar but he decided that he prefers for now to work as a member of the host guy + wait staff team.  For the 7^th question, “Would you participate in next year’s Mr. Sexy Boy competition?” – he replied with a NO, but without a reason as to why.  I tried to probe to learn why, but he would not reveal the reason to me.  Unlike Apek, who also replied no, but he gave a very honorable reason – which you can read about in the questionnaire reply section of this post.

 

 

Step 4: posting of the questionnaire results:  

I created a .jpg file with the questionnaire results from each of the contestant’s LINE responses.  At the end of each questionnaire is the mechanism in which the contestant can be contacted (with their permission and authority given).  My motivation to do all of this is:

• solely to help the gay grassroot efforts of the Jomtien Complex, aka Supertown,
• give visibility to the contest winners,
• and more importantly, to care about the future success of Supertown – especially since in the year 2030, Thailand may be awarded with the rights to host the World Pride 2030 – for which I hope that there will be an economic overspill from Bankgok into Thailand’s hinterland gay economic zones, of which Pattaya/Jomtien is one of them.
