The Denver Post reports that "Former Arapahoe County Sheriff Patrick Sullivan was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of trying to trade drugs to a man for sex, as investigators monitored the deal. I am so tired of straight people who claim to be queer friendly and "open" who become homophobic assholes as soon as they have children. Fuck these bitches! This case in point the woman describes herself as a "liberal, sex positive feminist" but is very, very upset that there is a billboard advertising Manhunt's iPhone app - because children could see it and she doesn't think children should see two shirtless men on a billboard. "You try explaining the "Zero feet away MANHUNT MOBILE" phone application to your 9-year-old son. A 9-year-old who loves Army guys, and so noticed the dog tags right away." You know what, you mommy blogger, your son might REALLY like Army boy…

I went to a book signing event at a local book store. Steve Almond, the author of the book "God Bless America", is famous for resigning his professorship at Boston College when Condi Rice was selected as the commencement speaker in 2006. He is so cute, engaging and mesmerizing. His voice is so manly and I just went into another world when he read parts of his new book. He said that he writes to make people to "feel" more of what's going on around us and also heal people's broken heart thru his short stories. One thing that strike my heart was that he mentioned loneliness in this country and he wanted to people to know that they are not alone thru his stories. That just to…

I sometimes wonder if sub-editors responsible for writing headlines have much clue about subtleties of meaning. A heading in the Soorts pages of the Bangkok Post yesterday had me wondering if tennis player Rafael Nadal might be gay, contrary to everything I have heard about him - "TSONGA TOPS NADAL"
-
If you really could choose, would you really choose to be gay?

The Biggest Box-Office Turkeys of 2011 By Kurt Orzeck | The Wrap Wed, Nov 23, 2011 2:25 PM EST Turkey Day comes once a year, but in a year that's been short on big motion-picture success stories, it seems like a fresh bird has landed at the box office every weekend. In honor of the biggest film-going holiday on the calendar, TheWrap has assembled a list of 2011's biggest duds so far: THE RUM DIARY With Johnny Depp movies having amassed an astronomical $7.67 billion across the globe over the course of his career, this film stands out like a bad batch of hooch.
