  1. For me the price of the drinks is not the issue in a gay bar. I’m not a big drinker. What I want to find is sexy lovely boys to entertain me both in the bar and maybe later in bed. The Winner bar delivers.

  2. No doubt gays have higher spending power compared with str visitors to Thailand. However for this gay, my spending power is directed, like bkkmfj2648’s more towards boys and associated bars/massages rather than shopping malls or expensive resort hotels. When making a purchase I am usually to be found in markets, like the one in Soi Buakhow, Pattaya. However I will no doubt visit malls if I hear there is anything in them of interest to myself.

  3. Great video showing boys dancing on the elevated tables at Krazy Dragon. Was it a staged sequence for publicity or marketing as I don’t recall that many boys performing on an average night ?. Those loose white shorts were a “turn-on” with slits affording groping hands easy access after giving a small tip. I do remember the boys circulating by jumping from table to table, without ever falling off. I must have offed from KG but I can’t bring to mind an instance. Maybe the twinky boys in the other Sunee gogos were more of an attraction in that era.

  4. I’ve visited Pattaya for more than 20 years with my stays ranging from around 2 weeks to over 2 months in duration, although since Covid  they have been mostly the former, with 90% being in the Boystown “ghetto” or the Jomtien Complex, as I feel more confortable in gay or gay friendly hotels, despite seldom having issues elsewhere. In the Complex I have mostly chosen the Zing although I have tried the others (but never the Venue). The rooms there are a little on the “basic” side but so are the rates, and the pool is a big asset for myself and often my “boyfriends”.

  5. I think Mr Gareth, the unfortunate victim, was extremely unlucky to slip in such a way to impale himself on the glass. A really freak accident ? Maybe ?
you mention boys Keith. The biggest accident risk they run is injury as a result of motor bike accidents. I’ve had the need over the years to examine boy’s bodies for research purposes and found that most have scars from these accidents plus very often evidence of broken collar bones. There is an instinctive tendency to use the arm to brake falls from moving motor bikes, cycles, and moving ridden animals causing fractures. Boys also sometimes show burn scars following cooking in their rooms with unsafe equipment using most frequently bottled gas.

  6. I’m always wary of wet tiled floors in Thailand in the shower or round the pool. I have the impression that cheaper smooth ceramic tiles are used, whereas in the “West” they are non-slip. That resulted from a fall I had getting out of a Thai hotel pool when I slipped and fell striking my chest against a raised edge. I thought I had broken a rib, but an X-ray at the Bangkok.Pattaya hospital revealed bruised ribs which remained painful for the rest of my trip.

you will be happy there, rooms are big and entrance very discreet and card operated

I had a week’s stay at the Classroom recently and only moved for my second week because I like a swimming pool. As Vinapu has mentioned there is a side door affording access with the room card, avoiding the reception and the indoor hotel bar. A boy from Madagascar liked this as he seemed nervous about showing his I’d. I don’t really know if it should be regarded as a gay hotel, as is the nearby Ambiance, but one night another guest with a boy shared the lift with me and my overnight “boyfriend”. Bearing in mind its position I did wonder if I would experience overnight noise, but that was not the case.

i would definitely stay there again making the reservation direct with the Classroom using their website.

Is there any such hotel within say 15 minutes walk from BT you could recommend?

    - 15 minutes walk wouid equate to about 1 mile and that would encompass A lot of South Pattaya where there are a number of hotels which could be described as “resort’ having facilities like pools and gyms in addition to quality rooms, with a price to match. I would not however like to recommend any one in particular.

  9. The boys from Cambodia and Laos can converse in Thai because their native languages are similar to Thai. The Burmese lad was able to tell me he could not understand Thai as his language is completely different. His bar was 100% Burmese.

Talking to another customer we both formed the impression that a proportion of the boys have only recently arrived to work in the bars and are rather unsophisticated as regards to gay sex and it can be difficult to establish their orientation. On my second visit to the Complex I offed a boy from Laos who could speak English and had worked bar 6 months and who was able to tell me he was versatile, which proved to be the case during a LT off (400 to the bar, boys tip 2000).

  10. I never like being the only customer in a gay bar, particularly a Gogo. Of course from the outside you generally can’t check the interior. My thoughts are that no customers signals that the bar is not worth a visit maybe due to unattractive boys, expensive drinks, too loud music etc etc

While I was playing pool there last night, the coowner was getting my boyfriend drunk and bought drinks for himself. Really obnoxious and told him so. Will not be going back there with my boyfriend with out strict observation of drinks.

Normally I don’t mind a few glasses of wine, but he was unable to perform and puked what looked like gallons of red wine.

I should have just taken out a few of the drink bills and hid them but I’m very fond of bar because of tournament they provide.

I think I’ll go to Double shot or guy guy bar for practice and give him my business.

Why would the coowner buy wine for your boyfriend and get him drunk ? Some sort of connection between them ?. Asian guys are not used to wine and underestimate its potency.

The gay section was predominantly farang. It was supported mainly by the winter exiles from Europe and North America, who would stay two or three months each time. Their headcount was never that many, but because they were temporarily resident, they could make frequent visits and so the gay section looked well patronised. On a typical high season day, there might have been 10-15 gay farangs per concession stand at any one time. Multiply that by about 6 concession stands, and there would have been 60-90 gay men on the beach at any one time, many with twinky companions from Sunnee as well. That was what made the scene.

Macaroni you have nicely described the Dongtan Gay beach as I remember it in my first few years visiting Pattaya (about 2002 to 2005) when many of my afternoons were spent there, enjoying the sun, sea , the ambience and the boys, (especially the boys. ). Sometimes it was difficult to find an unoccupied chair especially when accompanied by other farangs or boyfriends. There were maybe 10 or a dozen obviously gay orientated concessions where few women or hetro couples were to be found and several nearest the toilet block always seemed to be 100% gay. Happy days !

  13. Of course if you like  the combination of a boy plus sand and sea there is sometimes the option of taking your off or boyfriend to the beach. Whilst staying in the Complex I’ve taken suitable boys for a late morning breakfast and then for an hour or two at what’s left of the gay beach. Once last year I had a boy accompany me into the calm sea where we had some fun swimming and  splashing in the warm water. Lovely memory which deserved the promised enhanced tip.
