I cannot recommend Woody high enough. I have done 2 trips with Woody - the first one was in January 2014 for just a couple of days. Oh Vinapu - I also recently had this dilemma here in Pattaya. @spoon is a witness during his recently completed visit here. We went together a couple of nights to X-Boys and we had GREAT times there. It was their 13th anniversary and one of the nights it was full house with NO empty seats. So, I get so goo-goo gaa-gaa for one of the X-Boys dancers. I call him over to sit with us and we start caressing and kissing (I rarely kiss like that) each other in the bar on 2 distinct nights. I made @spoon crazy by only talking about my X-Boy guy. As I prefer afternoon or early evening in-home encounters I invited my X-Boy guy to my place. Well, guess what - he is cold and not kissy or romantic at my place. I am so confused - as he was the complete opposite in the X-Boy bar and even showing off when we were together to his other X-Boy colleagues. One night after the bar closed - he asked me to stay and he danced on the stage pointing to me. To this day, I cannot figure out what went wrong? I have to admit - that with my clothes on I am a fairly good looking guy. However, when I am naked I am less attractive (no gym and resulting belly) - so perhaps him seeing me naked put him off ? So, even though he was smiling at me - like you write - something just did not work out when the big moment arrived in my place. Did we have sex? Yes. Was it good? Yes. But, it was more cold and mechanical and was missing the "romantic" part that he displayed within the walls of his X-Boys bar. Perhaps that is the way he fishes? The temporary romance is part of the charm (bait) to capture his prey (fish) ???

This statement is SO true. I was formerly one of those "too proud" to consider the idea of paying for an off. It was thanks to this forum in my early years here that I realized that I could maximize my sexual pleasure by paying for the experience - as I discovered that by being the consumer / buyer of said services - that I could construct the menu and program of what I wanted to do with my offs. This is SO much more harder when you are chasing free guys - to get your menus and program desires to match up. Once I discovered the joy of having what I want - almost always - I never turned back to being "too proud". And when I hear of proud non-paying guys bitch and complain that they are not getting what they want - I suggest that they get over the embarrassment of paying for it to almost immediately find what they are looking for, where they waste much less time and effort of the endless hunting for unsatisfactory sex.

I @PeterRS - I think your 2 above points really hit the nail on the head. You see this at play in the Jomtien Complex - each bar - one after the other - repeats the same format - as if they are cloned. Then they all start with the same mantra, "falang sitdown - falang drink" - I like to stand for a while when I enter a new place because when I am encouraged to sit down I start to feel lethargic and my energy rapidly dissipates. I even try to push back by saying why does falang need to sit? The response is that this is the desired format in the Complex. By who?? Also, in discussing this issue with one of the bar managers - as to why the format is expected to be the same amongst the bars - the response was to not upset the apple cart and to keep a single type of unified format - as he said that in the Thai culture it is not recommended to go against the grain. But I replied, many of these bars are owned or financed by falangs - surely they can influence the format to be different - as they come from many different Western countries ??? The only bar that I see pushing the envelope towards something "extreme" (for Jomtien Complex - as this would not be considered extreme in other places like Sunee, Boyztown or Bangkok) is where in the Double Shot bar the masculine hosts take off their shirts and remain bare chested from 10pm forward. You can even have these guys sit with you and they encourage your to touch/play with their nude torsos. When the other bars push back saying that there must be conformity as that is the Thai way - I say, well - what about Double Shot?? - they are not following the Complex standard ??? Then there is silence and the conversation goes dead. So, @PeterRS, this leads me to believe that the Ethel Merman / Barbiery approach could still work - you just need to have the courage to do it and to go against the established grain.....

I used a similar procedure many years ago when I took 3 guys back to my room from Nice Boys in Sunee. They would not do it with each other so we did one at a time until I was super exhausted. It was truly a lot of fun as the guys were crazy comparing notes between our intervals.

Vinapu - firstly, compliments on your thread handling for all of your trip reports. I would suggest that your trip reports serve as models for us to be the standard - as you provide for proper navigation between segments - especially when you have many trips (multi country) occurring in one single visit. It makes for great navigational continuity and more importantly, will be useful as the years pass and we need to recall the history and/or trip report out of its archive as we are going to plan our own trip to the related areas. Secondly, thanks for augmenting your trip reports with your lovely photos - as the images help reinforce the words being expressed.

Hello foresttrip. Since your original objective was to meet cute twinks and see beautiful beaches in Phuket - and now you are leaning more towards going to Pattaya - please read my trip report (see below hyperlink) from November where I visited beautiful Koh Larn - the island that is directly in front of Pattaya city - which is only a 20 minute speed boat away or 40 minute ferry ride. The beaches on Koh Larn are beautiful - but not as beautiful as in Phuket. However, Koh Larn has transparent turquoise blue water with wonderful white sand beaches. my recent report on Koh Larn - the island that is directly in front of Pattaya If during your visit to Pattaya you want to make a day trip or overnight trip over to Koh Larn - let me know as I am itching to return to Koh Larn.

Not only in Bangkok but also over here in Pattaya - Jomtien. As a newly retired guy here in Jomtien - what is disconcerting is the lack of synergy to sustain the 3 distinct areas - Sunee, Boyztown, and the Jomtien Complex. ONLY the Jomtien Complex has a unifying website augmented with Twitter feeds to promote their 30 bars and social activities that take place in the Complex. Both Boyztown and Sunee are intentionally left out of this website and consequently, Boyztown and Sunee need to fend for themselves. Sunee is almost dead and lifeless and Boyztown is much smaller than in the previous decades. This is something that I cannot understand. Don't the generations that come after us also want sex ? relationships? to travel and live in places outside of their native countries ? I fear that we (us in these forums) will be the last men standing and then after we die - everything will just evaporate as dust into the wind..... Or, is it that the youngsters of today have found other destinations? (Canary Islands, Mykonos, Ibiza ??) even this list is probably dated - as I have no connections with the younger generations. I do note that there is a large contingent of young Russians here in Pattaya - Jomtien - so perhaps they will maintain our institutions (Sunee, Boyztown, Jomtien Complex) when we die off ??

This guy definitely has a social media addiction. Having met him with you when you were here BEFORE either of us knew about his addiction - he is definitely one of the TOP hotties in BoyzBoyzBoyz (BBB). He is one of the FEW guys who takes his shirt off (with his impressive torso) in BBB lineup when the guys are making themselves available to the audience. This is SO true. Now that I live here I can take it slow and decide with whom I want to make my regulars. Prior to retiring here - I felt rushed to take an off because each day that I did not was a day closer to when my flight to return back to Europe was approaching. So, I tried to maximize my acquisitions during my vacation. Now, I am lucky if I have 3 per week and that is ok with me - no rush, better selection, and less pressure. For the monetary part, I pay on the upper acceptable range as I have got to know many of the guys and I check up on them regularly and their income streams are VERY erratic. It is VERY rare that they "get lucky" every single day. Sometimes they don't have a customer for 4 days. I definitely feel for them.

Dear 12is12, These were GREAT daytime adventures that we had together. They are witness to the fact that there is SO much to do, see, explore, and experience in Pattaya - Jomtien OUTSIDE of the nightlife scene. Also, this is a GREAT response to OldDaddy's previous post when he questioned, "What do expat retirees who live in Jomtien do beside staring at the beach from their condo balcony". Implying that we would get bored. I am now here 3 months and I can attest that there is always something to go and see and do, and there is little time to be bored. And yes, I do also cherish my time sitting on my condo balcony staring at the vastness of the beautiful sea.

Yes, most likely we were all there the same night. It was very crowded with all of the birthday party guests. We were the 2 falangs in the front of the bar (street side corner) who were dancing and with different host guys on our laps...

I am only 3 months into my new retirement life in Jomtien and that night out with you at Double Shot was my BEST night so far in the Jomtien Complex. All the energy was right that night --> as the erotica was definitely injected into the Complex!!! You forgot to mention that you also danced - so I was not the only farang dancing at Double Shot. Dancing brings out the energy in us so that we don't have to feel geriatric with the guys constantly saying, "falang sit down - falang drink". Our rebuttal that night was, "Farang / falang CAN dance - and dance we did!!"

and as a result you earned some Thai, "jai dee", merit with the guys - because 2 of them told me - wow - that falang is so nice he gave us some cookies.... You reminded me of one of our many conversations on how the guys could up-market themselves. One idea is if they could have QR codes on their person - so as they walk by we can snap their QR code and learn more about them, where they work in the Complex, and how to contact them. For us "shy guys" this would be a great way to expand our guy experience(s). As you know, I am a new retiree here - and I have reached out to many fellow falang retirees here and only very few have reacted to meeting up. Most just replied, "sounds like a good idea - I will contact you" - and then weeks and months pass and nothing happens. I believe that the established falang groups are content as they are and are not looking for any new entries. For those sitting alone night after night - I do not know why? It would be great if the people who manage the https://www.gaysupertown.com/ website could organize 1 time per month a meetup and/or bar crawl within the Complex, where the newbies can meet the already established falangs to break the ice and to create some possible new friendships. I know that over in Pattaya in the heterosexual world they often organize bar crawls in Soi Buakhao where the newbies can meet the residents to have a good time and make new friends. I am not aware that there is any such equivalent in the gay communities here in Jomtien and Pattaya. I will wait to respond to this until you post the Double Shot portion of this trip report - as there was definitely horniness in the air!!!!!!!!

Yes I agree. They act as a large anchor store in a shopping mall - pulling customers to that end of the Complex. In this way, both main entrances to the Complex have some action. The street where the East Suites / Thai Blind Massage is too quiet - something interesting needs to move into that street to give it some life. I would love to see a place where we can dance - even a tea dance - for us who can't last beyond midnight in some far away dance club. Plus, it would help give us an alternative to the Complex mantra of, "Falang sit down - falang drink..." I find this desired behavior by our Thai hosts b-o-r-i-n-g and puts us into a geriatric state of mind. I would love to open a bar or dance place with the name = "Falang can dance...." - let us have some energetic fun instead of just focusing on B-I-N-G-O !!!! There will be plenty of time to sit-down and play Bingo later on.....
