Personally I've stopped using Agoda too. Had a couple of incidents, and their customer service wasn't up to standard.

Me and my partner rented a 4WD in January and drove north towards Phonsavan via the eastern route. We made an overnight stay in a small village along the way. Roads were fairly good, save for a few kilometres with gravel roads due to roadwork. But, with the road full of chicken, cats, dogs, cows, and children we could hardly drive faster than 40 km/h. After Phonsavan and looking at some of the jars, we took the western route via the banana pancake town of Vang Vieng on the return to Vientiane. Here, the road up until it joined highway 13 (Vientiane-Luang Prabang "highway") was surfaced, but it was a long and winding road. We stopped in a small town about 54 km north of Vang Vieng, and spent the night in a local hotel. No English spoken in neither of the small towns. Road 13 is in a dismal state (picture below), and the heavy truck traffic made it worse. I believe this is the main transport route from Vientiane into China. We did it in three days,, two nights, all in all a lovely trip.

A wise comment. How many of the world's population can afford to support someone in a foreign country? how many here in the UK? I've sent a lot of money over the past fifteen plus years; never have I had to make  serious personal sacrifices in terms of my own comfort. I count myself lucky, particularly n view of the happiness P brings  me, even in a twenty minute LINE call. Of course, he would propose the Buddhist  view that in fact, he is doing me a favour by allowing me to "make  merit"....or something like that!

MP proposes legalising prostitution, sex toys to lower rape cases
An MP of the Thai Civilised Party MP yesterday proposed make prostitution and adult toys legal in Thailand, to help stem what appears to be a rising tide of rape cases in the country. Mongkolkit Suksintharanon, one of Thailand’s wealthiest politicians is an adviser and a member of a House committee assigned to to tackle the problem of rape in the country.
The idea has been floated and debated for years at the highest level of government but has always been shot down by conservative politicians. Mongkolkit says he plans on formally bringing up the idea again to the committee and the government as a whole.
Prostitution has always been a taboo subject in Thailand, with some ultraconservative Thai leaders and law enforcement brass even going as far as to claim there is no prostitution in the kingdom, which stretches credulity and liberal leaders admit is simply not true. Instead prostitution is often viewed as the “elephant in the room,” with many leaders too embarrassed to discuss it or claiming they’ll “wipe out prostitution entirely.” Critics say this is impossible, unrealistic and ill advised.
The suggestions come just a day after the Royal Thai Police raided a warehouse in Samut Prakan and discovered illegal sex toys valued at over one million baht.
The House committee says it will consider all proposals to deal with sex crimes before submitting its own proposals for a new bill in July. Several high profile rape cases have been reported in Thai National media over the past several months.

    Reader,
I am sorry but you are breaking the morals of this board. You know there is no prostitution in Thailand and your article suggests there may be. Absurd I tell you. I have been here for years and not once have I ever seen any form of prostitution. For a reader, you may need your glasses next time you go out. Please, please do not even suggest such things would go on in LOS!  Fake News!

That's what I do. I have a second phone which I use when travelling, buying local sim cards wherever I go. In some countries this is as cheap as a few dollars, in others a bit more. Good for local calls, and even international in some places.

I cannot connect using Hotspot, that's the problem. Maybe a 4G dongle is the answer. The dtac shop at Terminal 21 did not have them, so they said. Maybe I should try AIS?

For that very reason, and — if any trouble with the ticket, I deal with the airline and not some crappy agent with a lousy customer service.

Also: when booking hotels I only use Booking.com or Hotels.com, unless it’s a hotel I’ve stayed in many times (like Malaysia in Bangkok). Any disputes are easier to deal with, and believe me, in some countries one can end up in an argument — like if I’m given a room without window, room is half the size as what is advertised, or there is no room at all despite a booking half year earlier. All this has happened to me.

And I stopped using Agoda. Their customer service sucks.

Yup saw this in local news yesterday. It is the first ever "public" canning, done in a close court room, with 100 attendees in the court, mixed of court officials, government officers, prosecutors and defendants, as well as the many ngos people. The canning were done not according to civil laws, but shariah law, which is not as harsh. Anyway, these two women having sex in a car out in public when the lgbt issues were a hot political issues is like asking for it and it only shed a bad light on the other lgbt and proving that the islamic party is right in saying lgbt is a social problem.
