Once again, if people didn't engage the right-wing posters they would have no one to argue with.

My take on this is different. For me, the reason that conservative posters thrive in the Politics forum is because their views are more in sync. When non-conservatives come there, they come from a larger variety of view points. The conservative posters always argue with the less conservative posters, who seem to think they can persuade the conservatives. That's highly unlikely and I wonder why they bother. If the simply ignored the conservatives, it would take away some of their fire.
