Does any SANE person really listen to what Trump says anymore ?. If you saw his E.Jean Carrol deposition, it was totally bonkers and embarrassing, and gave us all a CLEAR picture of how he sees himself and his entitlements.
If Fani Willis and Jack Smith dont have enough evidence by now, most of it coming directly from Trump himself, then neither one of them really intends to Indict him. This all should have been done 2 years ago, and the longer it takes the less likely it will happen.

As a footnote, I'm still catching up reading stories about the firing, and speculating. I had not heard this one before:
Ruppert sent a clear and concise message that "noone is Bigger than Ruppert"...... If your employment costs Ruppert $$$$, you are of NO value to him. Now Ruppert should go a bit further and complete his "house cleaning" There are a few more talking heads that Deserve the guillotine....

Compensatory settlements by businesses are clearly deductible if they arise out of the business being conducted. Fox clearly meets that test. It doesn’t matter if the conduct producing the expense is later viewed as wrongful. The only exception is for certain confidential settlements in sexual harassment cases. In fact, even punitive damages are tax deductible when paid by businesses. Tax bills have been introduced in Congress over the years to change that, but the bills never gained traction. Sometimes, even amounts paid to the government are deductible, despite corporate wrongdoing.
For decades, Section 162(f) of the tax code prohibited deducting any fine or similar penalty paid to a government for the violation of any law. That includes criminal and civil penalties, as well as sums paid to settle potential liability for a fine. This sounds absolute, but the law is riddled with exceptions. To begin with, the rules cover only government payments, and some companies find ways to write off even the biggest payments.
So basically, they will financially Benefit from the write-off on their taxes ? Now aint that a hoot, no apology and they MAKE money on the deal....... The RICH get Richer....

It was reported that part of the settlement negotiation was that Fox anchors would definitely do any apologies , on-air or otherwise. In other words all the people that were voluntarily complicit would not have to admit any wrong-doing, and THAT I believe was the lynch-pin of the case ?
Now they can continue their on-air smear and disinformation campaigns without any fear of accountibility, as long as Fox continues to be willing to put up enough money to keep them, and the network safe.

Fox News pulls in $2.79 billion per year, so the Dominion hit will be made made within a years time.... No biggie for Fox, and no incentive for them to stop lying to their viewers. How perfectly humiliating it would have been to have their anchors "grovel" to America and admit the TRUTH ? For me, an admission of falsehood by Fox for the countries perception would have far superseded the financial win for Dominion, but I suppose to Dominion the $$was the greater of the victories and benefited them most ?
I dont think this was a learning experience for Fox ? they can continue their lying and misinformation campaigns, and every few years they will have to write a check to someone.... No big whoop to continue running a successful and highly profitable business of SHAM...... Their base wants to hears lies and Fox is more than beholding to provide them with those.
Lets see if Smartmatic caves before the party gets started ? My instinct is they will also settle before a trial.

While @Mavica points out that I am bothered by many things, and rightly so, since our govt is so incredible flawed and corrupt politicians are living off our "dime", it just would have been so incredibly entertaining to watch Tucker and the other Fox hosts squirm while telling their fans that they are LIARS and they intentionally duped them to get them to keep watching the show. Even Jeannine Piro "screaming" that at the camera would have been a must-see moment.
But as long as @Mavica is pleased with the outcome, thats all that really matters. 😏👎

The point was to STOP Fox from the egregious behavior of misinformation, and being forced to make a public apology ON-AIR might have gone a bit further to achieve that.

And there are a bunch of independents watching Fox who might have been swayed if the newscasters were forced to admit they Lied.... As you say, the MAGA lunatics will never be affected by any negativity Fox receives for its behaviors.

Although Fox will be writing a check for 787.5 million bucks, they were saved from having to make any on-air apology for their continued egregious lies around the 2020 election.
Tucker, Laura and Sean and all the other scum were saved from having to admit to their viewers that they were lied to. And this condition was a Major part of the original charges, that Dominion wanted a public apology.
Now Dominion copped out, and says that "the huge amount of money is a victory of accountability"...... What Bullshit. They were after MONEY and they GOT IT !
"Show me the Money" always works.......
Question now is: will this payout change Fox's future behavior ? Fuck NO, they will probably get more brazen and worse.

Tucker Carlson, a FAUX newscaster at Fox was transparent as hell the other day after the reinstatement of the 2 Tenn. black Congressman..... He removed any mystery or question to to his blatant RACISM by referring to one of the gentleman (the one with the 60's Fro, that sounds like MLK) as a "sharecropper".

Obviously, the laws in this country are F'd up and need serious revision. Anything that is done can be Undone or changed, if the want and need to do so exists...
Clarence is an arrogant, angry man, and as we now know has done things that are INappropriate for his position as US Supreme Court judge. And in doing so, he should have to be accountable and PAY the consequences. Our govt SHOULD be able to take action against him, without him sitting on his throne and laughing at America with his Nazi buddy.....,
Little by little we are seeing how this country appears to be the land of Opportunity, but really, ONLY for some, that use and abuse it.....And there is absolutely NO equity in America. Being governed in America should NOT mean "being taken advantage of" and if the GOP were a REAL party of the people, they would concentrate on the "wrongs" in govt, instead of committing them, and then holding neverending Hearings, to point the finger at someone else.
America has turned into a sick, dysfunctional place to live. .

OK, so now Trumps been indicted for the lesser of all his criminal activity, and the GOP is on attack mode, looking for retaliation wherever they can, the Tennessee expulsions being particularly heinous.... Its not enough to Indict the orange maniac. He MUST be convicted and jailed. I can imagine another 4 years of Trump world or a country once again ruled by him.... He tried to destroy America once, and if at once you dont succeed, try, try again ! and he IS.....

Although in the back of my brain, I tend to agree with you on this, but for me, I dont look at it as electing "people" anymore, as all choices presented are pretty weak.
I look at these new elections as electing Democracy over Autocracy, and that choice for me is clear, regardless of how the cards play out.
Consciously voting for Trump, OR not voting at all is basically giving your vote to Trump, and that will NEVER happen for me. I still believe Kamala would make a better President than Trump, Watching his E Jean Carroll deposition gave me a NEW level of disgust for him.
