When an escort in Europe or in the United States quote his price, do you try to bargain ("haggle)?  R$100 is very low.  Remember many of the guys whom you meet in the saunas or bars or elsewhere are fucking and sucking or getting plowed,m etc. to earn money to initially support or to complement their earnings.  Also, remember these guys have feelings, too.  If a straight guy is uncomfortable being in your company for hire and is out with you at a restaurant, accept it and try NOT to make too much out of it.  Are you there to make friends for life, or to get laid?

I've always treated escorts with the utmost respect from all angles and desire the same in return.  Lastly, I KNOW very LITTLE Brasilian Portuguese, a beautiful but rather difficult language to learn, especially at my current age.  So with the language barrier-- again, try to make do and laugh when you're having difficulty.  I know you would prefer to converse, but if it's difficult as it apparently seemed to have been as it was with me-- enjoy the guy's company in bed-- treat respectfully, and try not to make too much out of it.

I was reluctant to post, but what I read really bothered me personally.  Treat others as you wish to be treated.  I've been there and understand!

I was referring to haggling from R. 300 (which was not the market price and made laugh the other boys at my table) down to R. 100 which is still over the market price in PA.

The guy was trying to mess with me, that is why it was fun!

we have had this discussion several times before.

yes, i will defenitely bargain, if they offer me something what is out of market. so, i will not bargain, if they say 100 or 120. but if someone offers 200, i will try to bring price down to normal range.

on the other hand, i will always tip, if service is good.  i will always give 50 reais more, than what was negotiated, but only if the service was good. mostly is.  but i would not pay if if someone, was combing his hair, while fucking me.

it maybe sound stupid to negotiate from 150 to 100, and then pay 150. but protects the uality of service. and i think the boys know and expect that.

Hahahaha ... some of you caught on to there being no clear point in my attempts to contribute to the payment topic. Could anybody really sum up and knit together the many, often disparate, pieces of thought put forward here? I could give a rat's ass about anyone's opinion on this subject because I don't need to have an opinion of my own about this subject. I think this makes me the most sane or insane person in the thread. That is how nutty it is.

I must admit, though, there is an obsessionality about it and we we will see it played out in interminable groundhog day style. I find myself drawn to the posts like a moth to flame. You can almost time to the minute when money will inevitably come up. Once introduced into a thread it becomes like a fast-spreading weed choking out the topic's purpose. It can never be shut down because too many posters need to have the last word, and too much attention span is required. I hope mine is not the final word that shuts it down. Who could tolerate such omnipotence?

I find the whole thing incredibly amusing as a kind of collective character trait, ideas defying meaningful integration while colliding off each other. Then me unwittingly putting myself out there as a whipping boy, offering the one opportunity for unification among those polarized in their futile attempts to give readers a true roadmap for the topic of money.

Interestingly, I think this topic should never be shelved because it cannot be put to rest. It is immortal and beloved. I think we should just resign ourselves to living with it, stockholm syndrome style. I get a kick out of it, while kicking myself for it.

I will not let you have the last word. ^_^

I agree with you. Fact: we will never agree, we all are placed in different ranges in the anti/pro bargaining continuum. Let me add a second fact, that makes @axiom2001's over reaction completely unjustified: whether or not you like bargaining, it is an institution in some cultures, including most South American countries. Bargaining is often not only tolerated, but expected.

Thursday, last day in Rio, met with Felipe at 10:00am on Praça XV and we travelled to Ilha de Paquetà, the ferry ticket was 2 dollars each, Lol, this country can be so cheap.

It very quiet there, especially weekdays, and so the island’s beautiful beaches are deserted. That is convenient if you want to fondle your boy on a beach (I did), but you can’t do that on Copacabana or Ipanema beach, because it isn’t acceptable to Brazilian society.

But don’t expect high-end restaurants and souvenir shops, it is not that sort of island pleasures!

Felipe told me a bit about his life, he had a boyfriend at some point and a girlfriend at some other point. He now lives with a girl, who is only his roommate. He is trying to get a regular job, since the sauna competition with the other boys is not working in his favour.

He also said he had never gone to either Cristo Redendor, nor to Sugarloaf mountain, because it was too expensive for him. To give you an idea of what he can’t afford, the tickets are R. 60 and R. 80 respectively. That is US$18 and US$24. And we have many escorts in NYC that are asking for $1,500 for a single night!

Since the boat dropped us at Praça XV, I thought we should walk to Meu Mundo just for the sake of knowing what I am talking about. It is a construction site. I would not go back until it is fully redone. I checked one of the cabin and It smelled badly of mould. There was only one boy i could have hired, the few others were too old for me.
The only thing it has for itself is the cheap entrance fee (R. 5 for boys, R. 20 for clients).

So we left just after I saw the place, and took a cab at 18:15 (first time I was stuck in bad traffic) to go to 117.

Such a difference from Meu Mundo! Also very friendly 117 staff at the entrance today, I guess they have more time since itis a much slower day. They helped me recharge my phone as I needed it for pictures.

Among the usual suspects there, we found Vinicius, Pablo, Bruno, Fernando. But it is a slow night.

Pablo came to tell me that I was unfair because on Sunday, I had paid him less than what I gave to some other boys thisweek (I think I gave 200 to a guy when I was a bit drunk on Tuesday and Pablo heard about it). He made his beautiful Italian eyes look like begging puppy-eyes, and I couldn’t resist him. I topped him, this time without erection issues and it was soooo good. This guys is so beautiful, if only he spoke English, I would have hired him to stay with me the whole week, I would have fallen in love and then bought him crazy presents like an iPhone X or something like this. He also confidently told me he was gay, which I found refreshing. He left right after we were done.

There were several new and very sculpted black boys that interested me.
Nicolas was one of them, a bit shy and unlike many other boys he didn’t try to grab me, but later on I approached him and found him to be compatible with my needs. He looks like a Greek god, his body is perfectly proportioned, his muscles very salient. Oh, and that perfectly small muscular ass!

There was a guy called Max which I had noticed on Tuesday but i had never got to him. Huge guy, with kind of a baby face.
I hired him for “cuddles and sucking only”, and he was so good at this! He licked and kissed me everywhere!

At this point (9:00 I think) people were leaving and so did I. I had run out of cash in my wallet anyway, and I don’t think the boys open a credit line. I was thinking of taking one to my hotel, but I knew I would have to spend the rest of the evening packing, and in the morning I was checking out early, so it would not be much fun.

So, a slow night, only 3 orgasms.

My recommendation for Rio is to stay 2 weeks if you want to try every guy that you like. If you hire a lot the first week, and reward fairly the hard work, you will be their hero before the beginning of the second week and I think you will have a blast.
Also get a nice hotel room, my hotel was nice and cheap (US$61 per night), but wasn’t quite up to my standard and I think the boys will appreciate the better bed and shower. Overnights are great, and very cheap as long as you offer dinner and buffet breakfast and a good night comfortable sleep. Also this way, if there is a long line for cabins on the “free cabin days” at the sauna, and you don’t want to wait around, just grab a boy (or 2) and take him with you.
But use the room safe for any sort of valuable: A wallet full of dollars, or an iPad, or a nice watch, would be incredibly tempting for a guy that cannot even visit his own city’s main monument, because he can’t afford $18 for a fun afternoon. Even if you know the guy is a good person, there are things that are just too tempting when life is difficult.

Health update: this morning I have a little sensation of burn on a part of my lower lip. Nothing visible, but it feels like it could be a viral infection. Let’s face it, I kissed over 40 different Cariocas, and sucked 18 different dicks, it would be surprising if I hadn’t caught a little something. I’ll have to explain that to the hotel Doctor in Porto Alegre, that is going to be fun.

Written on Friday morning from SDU airport lounge.

Tonight: Mezzaninu in Porto Alegre.

Interesting feedback...A few things to take into consideration...

The guys lie...If they are from Rio...they have definitely been to the monuments at some point in their lives...they take field trips in school to them in the city...

You are very generous and well known now which is the reason for your popularity...That can be a good Or a bad thing...

Please and thank you for taking care of anything you may have got from 40 and 18...I don't want to have to worry about diseases being spread from hoeations....

Yes, I have a simple rule which is more than 1600 years old: “When in Rome, do like the Romans”.

That rule has worked for me extremely well everywhere, no exception (and I have been to a lot of places) for any aspect of life.

It does mean you have to spend a lot of time observing, though.

So, @axiom2001, I have no issues with your post, but yes I haggle down to 100 in PA, because that is the minimum haggling expected. The locals certainly often haggle further down.

I would not haggle with an escort in the US or in Europe, simply because “that isn’t done”.

Also, you will notice, in the US, if you reject a high price from an escort, the conversation simply politely ends there. Here in Brasil, you immediately get a lower offer from the guy, which is a clear indication that haggling is normal.

Another wonderful update! I for one love the details and don't find them too graphic whatsoever. Given I don't yet have access to Tomcal's club, I'm just using my imagination to conjure up Guilherme's beauty. lol

Unfortunately, no face pics with Bruno#2 and Guilherme. I couldn’t convince them. They are very worried about it spreading, which is their right to be.

New language update, the total language immersion into Portuguese in Porto Alegre, with no other choices, is starting to yield results, tonight I uttered 2 complete sentences in Brasilian Portuguese which my new boyfriend, Bruno, said were entirely correct! One of them had a relative clause in it!

Someone give me 3 months off work to spend here, I could be fluent :-)

So envy with you. I was in Lagoa last time and paid R100 for Nothing! Went with a guy name Philips, first he said R50 was fine then he wants R100 when in the room, bj was a disaster and when I tried to top him he broke the condom. In the end I only jack off and paid R100!

Weren’t there another 15 guys to try that night? Never been to Lagoa, but one failure shouldn’t stop you in a place that is famously very busy.

thanks for the reviews Tarte!  a couple of points 1) i have paid a $100R for at least the last 7 or 8 years in Rio and SP and $75-80. in Porto Alegre until 2 yrs ago when i made it a $100.R for everyone! i have never tipped! ever! but i do offer them a drink(s).  all i can say it’s worked well for me for the past 17 years going to Brazil!

Tarte the Moinjos de Vento park is a pretty well used park for joggers, many good looking guys and on sunny weekends it is packed. It is the area i stay in, is right across the street from the park! moinjos de bento area has many restaurants particularly around the street “Rua Padre Chagas”, it is a upscale neighborhood!

Tarte-- I truly enjoyed your recollecting the experiences that you had when in Rio as well as Porte Alegre.  From what you wrote-- you apparently had a stupendous and meaningful time.  Muito Obigado

Now for you- it's off to the lands where Espanol reigns supreme.  Enjoy!  [Have been to Buenos Aires 4x's and to a small town or three but never to Montevideo].  Perhaps one of these days!   :smile::smile:

I didn’t get to see that park, I was close to Farroupilha.

Dont you find Mezzaninu underused? Even on their big night, there were half of the tables free at all times.

First day in Montevideo:

Arrived in my 4* hotel in Montevideo and it is a bit of a disaster. The safe doesn’t work, the walls aren’t well painted and the room smells. I am worried about my back on this mattress. On top of this, the staff don’t speak English.

After thinking about whether I could make this room work for a good 10 minutes, I upgraded myself to the Radisson (5*).

To be fair, they still agreed to not charge me anything. And the 5* of the Radisson I don’t think are deserved, in the US it would be a 4*.

Then I went to eat a seafood casserole at the Mercado Del Puerto. It is a beautiful place although I suspect a bit of tourist trap. I walked past several nice buildings to come here. Love the pedestrian streets with palm trees. Overall, quite a clean city, big improvement on Porto Alegre.

I have walked the busy streets for about 3 hours and I have seen at least 1000 white people but only 2 black people here. And 4 Japanese tourists. This is whiter than Helsinki, Finland. Except they all have a nice tan.

Switching away from Portuguese is hard. I used to find Spanish easier to speak than Portuguese, but not today. Everything comes out in Portuguese.

I have booked Andy for tonight 10 pm: http://www.pumbate.com/sexo/uruguay/hombres/andy
He had forgotten that I had booked him. He wanted me to go to his place, but i’d rather not. Now that my room is good, I should use it for sex. He confirmed “ tonight 10 pm. “

Andy is late, obviously, at 9:55pm, he texted me that he would only arrive at 11pm.

I said don’t bother. I have a feeling he would have been difficult anyway, the setup was already too much work. And I would compare him to my Bruno, who is still so fresh in my mind.
Andy could not possibly compare well. So I was happy to have the excuse of his lateness to cancel.

Also confirmed with Santino tomorrow: http://www.pumbate.com/sexo/uruguay/hombres/igor23

If he too flakes on me, I am writing off the escort scene of Montevideo. LOL.

Remember that the majority of the population in Argentina is of the lighter hue.

...read your few sentences that were related to Andy and immediately went to his ad.  ...found him to be gorgeous in his pics and eagerly awaited what you'd written about your time with him.  ...too bad that you felt compelled to cancel because of his lateness, but remember "time" was discussed previously by you and others and that "lateness" prevails on the part of some in other cultures.  ...wish you had waited to see if he were to show up at 11:00P and if NOT--cancel, but after all, it was your call, and I am NOT judging or anything.  This party was just quite interested in expanding his read of your time that you'd had with your first guy while in Argentina.]

[One year I had an appointment with an escort in San Francisco.  He was later than promised; when I rang him he stated that he was at dinner with friends and would arrive at another time; I agreed.  He didn't show but arrived much later.  When I opened the door- he eagerly entered, removed his gloves, etc., for he rode a big, hot motorcycle.  I firmly told him that our session was off, for he was way too late.

Afterwards, I felt good in having done what I did, for although he was a hot hunk and I'd really wanted him sexually, I did not appreciate his being that late.

I can feel what you perhaps went through in regard to Andy's lateness, but in retrospect reflected upon the afterglows that you have/had in conjunction with the wonderful times that you'd had with Bruno.

...can't wait to read about your time on Day 2 in Montevideo!!!!!  :D

Santino (http://www.pumbate.com/sexo/uruguay/hombres/igor23) turned out to have terrible bad teeth, and not very beautiful eyes. That is why he is hiding his face on his website, not because he is worried about privacy.

I mean, I turned him around and had him anyway (nice ass to eat) but I hate this escort system we depend on, now that I have tasted the “walk-in and choose the best kisser among the best looking boys” option.

Someone give me a sauna full of garotos!

He is not from Rio.

I don’t think he is lying. Since He arrived in Rio, he has always been either on minimum wage jobs or a not very successful Sauna boy.

He could have lied about this part too.  But it's good that you have trust in him, and is physically and emotionally satisfied by him on this trip.  That's the most important thing.

Writing this from the Buquebus fast ferry between Montevideo and Buenos Aires.

This Ferry ride is very comfortable. Not a cruise ship, obviously but still nice.

I recommend the business class, only about $25 more.

I was thinking of going by bus to Colonia and take the ferry from there, but that would have shorted my time in Buenos Aires. Plus I was lazy, I have my big luggage and taking it on a bus wasn’t appealing.

In the last few days, I have been confirming my hires in Montevideo and Buenos Aires in a way similar to the following:

“Hi, I hope you remember this conversation, I have booked 1 hour of your time on Thursday December 14, at 10 in the evening. I am staying at hotel <specific hotel name> which is on <specific address>.

Are you still available for that time and can you confirm our agreed price of 1300 ARS?”

For each and everyone of them, here is how the conversation follows (or some variation):

  • Sure, I can meet you. Which day do you want?
  • Thursday December 14
  • What time?
  • 22:00 like I said here above
  • But where?
  • at my hotel, <specific hotel name> which is at < specific hotel address>
  • Ok my price is 1500
  • We had agreed for 1300, have you changed your mind about the price?
  • Ok, ok, 1300 is fine

Is there lead in the water over here? Or are beautiful people particularly susceptible to early brain damage?

I am joking and i am not that annoyed, but I thought I would share that anecdote, as I found it funny that all of them did this to me.

And anyway, I am not immune to being stupid: I dropped my passport somewhere in the ferry terminal and realised it only when queuing for the checkin.

I started panicking. After asking 4 different staff members, I was starting to think it was lost in the taxi, and was already imagining myself stuck 2 days in Montevideo while the consulate was making me a new passport on their emergency service.  The 5th person I asked made a phone call and luckily, someone had brought it to the terminal’s admin office, and they just handed it back to me.

I haven’t found people to be friendly in Montevideo. They are very cold. Brazilians were nearly all instantly warm and smiling. Here only a couple of people were not stone-faced. Fair enough, my Spanish is terrible, but at least I am trying!

There are 2 gay saunas in Montevideo, Toronto Sauna and Horus sauna both in the center, but I haven’t visited either. There are no garotos de programma as far as I know and I didn’t feel like pulling a guy that looks like me.

Is it weird that I miss my Bruno more than my husband?

Buenos Aires

Banks all close at 3 pm.

And you can’t withdraw after that, because most of their ATM area not accessible out of hours.

There are no ATMs in the street.  I went through 5 banks like this, finally found an ATM that charged me $7 to withdraw $120. All the cash come out so the ATM in banknotes worth $5.7 each.

So if you are hiring at night and want to withdraw cash, be sure to withdraw in the morning.

Nearly everyone is white again. There are more East-Asians, though, they are running some shops here, not just tourists.

Gonza (http://www.soytuyo.com/indexmodelo.php?id=102#.WjMsXKbQ-hA) is late of course. We were supposed to meet at 10. He sent me a voicemail at 9:30 while I was in the shower, asking for my real name and he unilaterally decided he wouldn’t leave his place before I answered that.

He looks exactly like his pictures, a gorgeous very white guy with beautiful blue eyes and full lips. Looks to me like all his ancestors landed from a German boat. Very nice muscles. He speaks very good English.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t kiss, and he is so ticklish he won’t let me lick his body around the nipples, bellybutton or crotch area. Also he doesn’t get hard at all, not even for 1 minute. I know it is not critical for a bottom, but still, my ego took a hit (am I that unsexy that you can’t get hard?). Then he sucked me with a condom only. No ball licking at all.

The only good thing was eating his ass. That was super clean and very enjoyable. Fucking him was too. The cuddling afterwards was meh. Without the body worshipping I wanted to do, the whole thing was a bit rushed.

Lavale street trade:

It is 1:10 and I am walking up and down the street of Lavale. Some shops and restaurants are still open, I see some couples, groups of friends, a few homeless people(sleeping), construction workers doing their street improvement work, and ... 3 policemen. (In fact there are a groups of 3 policemen scattered a bit everywhere in the city center, all in bulletproof vest, like they are preparing for an event. ) Oh and there and 3 hot guys (not together) who are just walking through or minding their own business.  It looks like the street trade has been driven out as I cannot see anybody at all that is trying to make eye contact. Maybe the police recently scared away the street trade? Or is it the construction work? Or they finally discovered grinder?

Anyway, unless it is all happening at 3 am, it is gone, @Latbear4blk
