You'll find politics doesn't work on this site either. We don't try. The few times I've seen it attempted here it was almost comical.  We just do sex.

I occasionally contribute to the Politics forum here, but I confess I mostly don't read it. Sometimes, I feel like throwing my  Gucci boots  at the TV, but then I write a post in the Politics forum, and I immediately feel better. I save my TV from further damage, too.

I think it's safer to use the Politics forum for rant therapy, but never take it too seriously.

In today's political climate, there's much risk in sharing political thought. There's nothing worse than the discovery that the cock and ass you've been coveting belongs to a hated tribe member. I have no desire to give a hypocrite Republican an orgasm.

Also, there are many fewer posts here and less frequently so it's a natural break on flame wars starting. 

And if you check some of the political posts you'll see they were not contested political opinions. Most are ignored.

To be clear, some gay men are infirm, without a social network. Some of those can't have sex anymore. I'm content when they find a home on a board like this one. Some communication with fellow gays is better than none.

I could deal with the lonely simple-minded A and with the right-wing trolls that just wanted flare-ups (I ignore both). But a few of the intelligent regulars could also get really abusive if you disagreed politely in any way or strayed from the party-line path. I notice a few are gone now. Now it seems too quiet over there. Of course few of the Politics Forum regular posters participate much in the other forums so those are still the same. When Politics reopens it will be quieter for a while but an escort review site is a weird location for a political sandbox of a few regular fighters anyway.

I ignore, too. I don't have a lot of time to read forum chatter. I had some serious shit slung at me during my years at Daddy's. Never once did I hit the "Report Post" button. I was a firm believer in letting trolls and assholes reveal themselves. I'm older now, and I have less patience. I've discovered a new appreciation for the "Report Post" button here. Oz has been very fair, from my perspective.

Abusive people need to be moderated. It really is that simple. Lazy admin will find any excuse not to moderate. It's not that easy to find good moderators, especially if they're doing the work for free.

I usually enjoy talking politics with an escort. It gives me an opportunity to test their level of knowledge and get a sense of personal feelings. A political discussion can reveal a lot about a person. I love talking politics with friends, and I have a few who vote Republican.

The down side is discovering something unsettling. Some escorts can really turn you off with their political opinion, so one has to be careful. It can be interesting to learn where the non-escorts stand, as well, but there too, one has to be careful.

I've never quite understood why the other place keeps having such heavy traffic compared to this site. I'm pretty sure it's just because they started first. No denying that any photos I post will get a lot more views in the other place, but I've gotten tired of dealing with their unpredictable moderators. I once posted a photo in which a woman's vulva was apparent. There was nothing in their posting guidelines that mentioned anything about this not being allowed. Indeed, they allowed non-erect penises to be shown (and still do). If they don't want photos of female genitalia, they could have just let me know by a private message (and, hopefully, added that to their guidelines). Instead, they banned me for a month. I had been a prolific contributor, and also sent them money a few times, so they lost a good contributor. Then they go around begging and wondering why no one wants to send them money? The photo area here is much easier to deal with, and you don't have to click links to see racier photos.

It seems as though Forum Nazi Guy Fawkes announced his support for bringing back public executions... I may finally uncover the actual reason for my being banned - it came soon after I brought to light the actions of the Mississippi candidate for Senate - you know, the one who wanted a front-row seat at a public hanging.... from that State where such things were all too common all too recently.

Just for the record, Chris McDaniel was the Klucker race baiter and fire breather in the MS senate race. Because of the peculiarities of MS's election law, there were 2 Republicans and one Democrat running for the office. He got about 1/3 of the Republican vote. Losing that Senate seat in Alabama seems to have put a damper on the raw meat and red blood tendencies of deep South Republicans.

Hyde-Smith (the candidate you reference in your last post) is actually a country club type representing business interests. In fact she was a Democrat until fairly recently and came under fire from McDaniel for admitting she voted for Obama back before she saw the light and came to Jesus. Right now she's tacking right to make sure McDaniel's people don't sit on their hands in the run off and elect Espy (the Democrat).

I can't speak for elsewhere but in MS politics, what you see taint necessarily what you get. It's a real zoo around here sometimes.

Appreciate the insight.... we Northeasterners miss out on a lot of the details of the peculiarities of some regional political intrigue(s) - but the current hoopla that Ms. Hyde-Smith has generated is certainly a bit of a headline grabber, wouldn't you say?

I was in SDS in high school and when the organization split i hooked up (oops.... joined up) with the local weather persons collective... those were some heady times but i was a tough kid and eager to earn my revolutionary scars. the town house explosion was on my birthday - i still go to west 11th street every march 6th and leave something in remembrance of my friends... as do a number of other people.... and i remain in contact with bill... and bernadine... and mark... and others. sure we did some messed up things, but, actually i think that theoretically we were in a good place, and  i still believe that the theoretical analyses we formulated back then hold true today.
