  1. This happened one month ago in May. My 3rd trip to Bangkok this year in fact. I normally spend 1 to 2 weeks on holiday in Bangkok at end of year but this year I started taking shorter trips in other months. The first trip was a weekend in February. I went to celebrate friend's birthday. As I could pack light, I didn't take taxi but instead took airport train to Silom on Friday evening. I stayed at new Hotel Nishitestsu Croom until Sunday. My regular guy was back in Vietnam to celebrate Tet so I met another guy for both nights. They know each other casually. Saturday night was dinner gathering with some favourite forum members at G's. We even took a nice group photo. After that was a trip together to Atlas before we split up to Freshboys and Hot Male. Eventually we met at Foodland again for supper before going back happily with our guys. Second trip was documented in this trip report. Now to 3rd trip. This was a special trip to celebrate 50th birthday. I took 4pm Singapore Airlines flight from Singapore and arrived 2 hours later. Like the first weekend trip in February, I packed light. I took airport train. Once I reached Sala Daeng BTS, I walked to Ibis Styles Hotel. First time staying at this hotel. Small room but clean and functional. I chose it for the rooftop pool. I had booked it for 3 nights late last year. After checking in, I crossed Silom Road to go to Adam Massage for booking at 8pm. Thoroughly refreshed, I went to Foodland Patpong supermarket to get a birthday cake. At 9.30pm, I entered Freshboys. Mamasan was happy to see me back. Lots of seats available as only about 5 other customers at that early time. I took front row seats facing the stage. Two waiters prepared the birthday cake on the table. 50 candles. My regular guy joined me and sat next to me. I also invited 4 other guys down from the stage. I bought drinks for all of them. Once candles were ready, my regular guy and I lighted them. The DJ played Happy Birthday song - the hilarous and fun Thai version. I cut the cake and we ate while catching up. I told mamasan I would pay off fees for my regular guy for 3 nights. Once we finished eating the cake, I settled my bill. I tucked 200 baht each into the front of the shorts of the guys seated with me. One of them cheekily pulled his shorts wide open for me to tuck the notes in! I also tipped mamasan and waiters. I said goodbye to them and I will see them again. It was not even 10pm but I was out of Freshboys, happy with the person I had come to Bangkok to celebrate my birthday with.

  2. In fact it was two European customers who ordered the bottle of whisky and they invited my guy and another popular guy in the bar to drink with them. Instead of standing below Freshboys and waiting for the all clear signal, I went to Midnight bar and said hello to the waiters. I bought drinks for two of them and we chatted. At 10.45pm, my spies informed me that my guy was "released" by customer and was standing on stage. I said goodbye to waiters at Midnight bar and went up to Freshboys. My guy was seated with favourite forum members. They had the good sense to quickly call him to sit with them before another customer takes him. He was happy to see me and we hugged. By then, he had figured out that I was in town. "How many days you in Bangkok?" I told him five nights but I only pay bar off first for tonight and tomorrow night (tentatively karaoke). I also told him I was there with my friends. We would stay until Freshboys closing at 1am. It was FB night for us. OK, he got changed and sat with me the rest of the night. There was a good crowd at Freshboys. Not packed until you can't squeeze a guy to sit next to you but almost all seats were taken by customers. I said hello to many of the guys. I gave cigarettes to the smokers whom I know personally. I also gave mamasan a bottle of perfume. She was in a happy mood the rest of the night. I tipped some of the big cock show guys. I also tipped a guy who sat with me awhile and I enjoyed his company but pf course he knew I would not off him. Everyone in the bar knows who was my regular guy. 25 guys worked at Freshboys tonight Thursday night. About 15 guys got offed. Left 10 guys remaining at 1 am. Business was good! My entourage went to Foodland for supper. Each of us had a guy. At about 1.45am, we said goodbye to each other.

  3. 4th trip this year. Yes, I can hear the groans and silent cursing of many forum members. 6 days 5 nights. Thursday to Tuesday. Extended weekend. I decided to take a trip because favourite forum members happened to be in Bangkok at same time. Purposely kept trip a surprise from my regular guy at Freshboys. I concocted an elaborate plan go surprise him because I wanted to see his reaction. The plan was other forum members go into Freshboys first. I will wait downstairs. They will get him to sit with them. They will then blindfold him. After getting signal from them, I will go inside, sit close to him, hold his hands, say his name and see his surprised face when he takes off the blindfold. Then we will hug and kiss. And everyone around us will be happy for us. Well, that was the plan. Who knew that at relatively early time in the night (10pm), my guy would be seated and drinking with a guy with bottle of whisky!!!!!!

  4. My guy gives me a Vietnamese money note as a birthday gift. He got my date of birth printed as a serial number on the note. What a surprise! He says he hopes it will bring me luck. I promise to keep it forever!

  5. We go to Foodland for supper before going back to hotel room for the night. He gives me Vietnamese money note with my date of birth printed on it. He also gives me a "I love Vietnam" cap and T-shirt. He loves his country very much. He says I must go to Vietnam with him one day and he will drive me around. Meanwnile, the Foodland staff have been looking at us. They of course recognise us from our dinner-cum-chess sessions. But I did not bring my chess set out tonight to bar. (It's waiting for us in hotel room!) They see my guy presenting me with the gifts. They would have probably guessed it was my birthday. Then it hit it. I should have a birthday celebration at Foodland. "Wait for me," I tell my guy. I run off to the cake section of Foodland Supermarket. I buy a single slice of cake plus two number candles - 5 and 0. I go back and I ask for matches. We have a second birthday celebration right in the middle of Foodland!

  6. After playing for close to 3 hours, we ended this informal pool competition with my guy coming in 3rd out of 4 players. He didn't say anything about the pool table. All he said was that it was not his lucky day! As sponsor of competition, I gave away the prizes - 1200 baht for 1st place, 1000 baht for 2nd place, 800 baht for 3rd place and 500 baht for 4th place. It was off to Foodland for supper and then back to hotel. End of Day 2.

  7. I'm 73 and started coming to Thailand in 2011 after my bf died of alcoholism in UK. I have been here about 55 times so far, plus side trips to nearby countries. All visa exempt. I have been 'talked to' twice at immigration so because of that, and money reasons, I don't come as much as 4 times a year any more. Qatar landed at BKK at 19.00 on Thursday. Planes jammo as usual in economy but FA's very pleasant. I had printed out the DTAC so happily walked past the queue to use tablets to do it before immigration. BTS/MRT to Silom by 21.05 and walked to cheapish Surawong hotel, chosen as I'm trying to be more economical these days. You will soon see that I am not economical. Over to Freshboys to take out 2 of my favourite Vietnamese men for a drink. Take nobody back to my room as I slept a total of 15 minutes on the flights so not up to it. Friday I took out from Freshboys a lovely man from Myanmar for a drink and was embarrassed that I knew him from the past and already had him as contact on line. Maybe his hair was different. Saturday I took out a Vietnamese man from Good Boys I knew as a massage man from Silom Soi 6 to go to bed and that went well. He was into kissing which many Viet men are not. And today I invited a Laos man who I know from Pattaya, and is currently freelancing in Bangkok, to my room. He is even better at kissing. At my age I do like enthusiasm and I like to run winners. I know a lot of men from the bars and have them as contacts on Line or wherever so get requests for offs or help every day. While I am generous with 100 bt notes I stopped lending or giving more money some years ago as my finances declined. Many years ago on Soi Twilight I had a night where I decided whatever the lads asked for I would give them. That was a 30,000 bt night and great fun but I will try to avoid it on this trip.

  8. Last night was the best so far, though very understated. I took off, just to drink, a Cambodian man from Dream Boys who I know from the past. Some 18 months ago I took him to Pattaya and to Phnom Penh for 3 nights in each place. He had never been on a plane and never been to his capital city. Please do not tell the men that once I have had a few drinks, if they tell me they have never been on a plane, I am liable to say: 'let's go!' The two men I have done that with so far read every word of the safety card. It was nice to play pool with him but the night was about to get better. I popped in to Freshboys at 22.45 to see the men, who are briefly on stage around that time in an interval in the show. Then to Goodboys where I took off a Myanmar man for short time. He was so good at kissing that it was 10am before he left and he seemed pleased with his tip. It made me realise again that I can be completely happy with kissing and cuddling for ages and I should welcome this change rather than think I have to perform 'sex' every time. Both of us having an erection is reinforcing but I don't need an orgasm very often. This may seem odd to you younger ones but it's my reality now. I just arrived in Jomtien so I will be looking for men who like kissing.

  9. Because of personal reasons and not having had plans to return to Thailand again, I was absent on this forum for some time. I come back, and this is one of the most active / recent threads... 😄 Please let's not make this forum a place to fight out personal arguments or disagreements. When posting something, ask yourself the question is this something others like to know or read about... And with this thread it feels like the only reason for it is so @PeterRS can ventilate and get rid of a lot of angryness. Can't imagine forum members are interested in this. If there's something going on between you and another forum member, keep it between the two of you. I really don't see why you would write about it here. Even IF everything is true and you're completely right, even in that case I would say keep it private. Not a subject forum members are interested in. We want to ready about boys, bars and other adventures abroad. Before you make the same remark to me: off course I did not read all of it. Because I don't care about all the details. What I do care about is to maintain a positive vibe and atmosphere at the forum. Somehow it's hard to ignore a post that keeps getting on top in the most recent comments list. While writing this I'm aware that I'm now also guilty of popping this post up again in the list. šŸ™„ I really hope @bkkmfj2648 will return to this forum and keep us informed about his life and adventures. Now in Vietnam in soon again in Thailand. I must say I have had so much more fun reading his posts than @PeterRS recent contributions to this forum in this thread. @PeterRS proved he can contribute also in a very positive way to this forum with the many posts he had done. Hopefully he will return to posting interesting stuff and get out the negative vibe of this thread.

  10. And that's my trip report! Short trip and I wasn't sure if it's worth posting. Nothing really new for seasoned forum members to read about. It was a memorable birthday for me, that's for sure. And I am thankful I have my guy for making it special. Back at home, I went to buy an acrylic magnetic display stand for banknotes. This is where I put the banknote from my guy and I see it every day. 🄰🄰🄰

    Boy Agencies - update

I’ve been to Tokyo a few times this year, let me provide with a few field reports. King of College is still operating as a bar, when I went in, the boys are lined up and the manager will help with choosing. I spoke English with the manager, the boy sat with me at the bar for a short while trying to make conversation through google translate, which felt like a waste of time. Bringing them out for 90min direct felt more worth it. A lot of them don’t bottom but I have yet to encounter one here whose blow job was bad. Maybe not all are out of this world, but nothing bad. Clients who are bottom may get more bang for their bucks here. The boys lean more towards the fit type or at the very least, they are in shape. Tokyo kids/Shinjuku Kids https://kids-jp.com/tken/ or https://kidsgp.jp/2k/ revamped their English website and included a physical address as a bar (each site have their own). Feel free to walk in but unlike KOC, the boys dun stay on site. You choose from a tablet and they come to the store and bring you to a ā€œnearbyā€ room It’s a bit further compare to the distance between KOC and KOC’s Room. I took multiple times 3P with two boys and frankly had the most fun. Some of them spoke English and I had a favourite one who sadly seems like he left the stable. You can also make appointments through Line app. The boys here lean towards slim twinks and almost always look better in person compared to their online picture, the Japan style service excellence is evident here. I have never experience shorted time here, in fact once when I took a 3P course, one of the boys was still engaged and arrived 1.5 hours later, the other boy sat with me in the apartment waiting and chatting without me having to pay for that 1.5 hours. I only paid for 1.5hours for each of the boys (so double of the 90min course) when the second one finally arrived and we got down to business. Dojo Group https://www.dojo-group.com/ipn/shinjuku/schedule/ had a wide selection and most are satisfactory. I only ever took Business Trip with them and they are usually punctual (I have experienced lateness with almost all stables, but the time always counted from the time they entered my room). They fall under those whose pictures are better than their real person, but the difference is really small and nothing that made me regret my choices. (I like muscular bottoms, which is so hard to find anywhere, (the bottom are usually twinks and the muscular in shape ones are usually tops) JAM https://www.jam-2014.com/top/ was really hard for me to figure out how to make a reservation as the reservation page needed to be submitted while in Japan (Tried VPN but didn’t work). I took Gaku and was slightly disappointed with how he looked (a bit more haggard that the pic) but you can try for yourself. The service was standard, nothing exceptional. Perhaps my most disappointing experience. But again, I have yet to experience a bad blow job while in japan. It’s almost like a crime for them to give a bad blowjob. Redline https://www.redline03.com/boys/ had the best massage I experienced and a very fit boy but lacked passion. Still experience deep French kiss with loads of tongue. Namwa https://namwa-massage.com/kogan_stretch/ē¾äøøć‚¹ćƒˆćƒ¬ćƒƒćƒåƾåæœ/ had above average massage (slightly worse than Redline), which surprised me as they pretty much advertised as a massage place, extremely sexy boy though a bit older, was late by 5min for an outcall, but a really easy to search and book website. The sexy time was slightly above average. Topboy https://tokyo.topboy-massage.com/staff/ was my worst experience. I chose a muscular boy that pretty much dead fished on me, and the massage was bad. But maybe other boys would be better. (The service you receive varies more on each individual boy you choose more than the stable itself, I feel). DGDGDG https://lang.dgdgdg.com/top.php was hit and miss for me. I took business trip for a total of 3 times with them. The ones that I thought were average provided exceptional services, the super sexy video model I took while having an innocent air and youthful face (Emu) had a smell on him, a weird lump on his back and subpar performance (which I blame it on his inexperience). But with Emu, I managed to slip in his back door bareback without any resistance from him even though I now notice he puts an X on is back UKE on his profile (which I swear I remembered it was an O previously). I do notice sometimes the Xs and Os changes from time to time across all websites and I notice discrepancies between Japanese websites and English websites (In the jap sites they put O or triangle for a particular boy, but the English version it becomes an X, for example, Kidsgp Vs Kids-jp) Overall, those above sites and stables are a really easy and fuss free way to enjoy the company of the boys and their service really is legendary. You either book through Line with them or via their websites, choose the boy and date and time, wait for a response, show up on time or pick them up at the hotel lobby (Just tell them to meet at the hotel lobby and walk in like you know each other, I have never been stopped for bringing guests, but I usually stay at better hotels with a busy lobby that makes it hard for FO to track who is who). It starts off with a bath and mouth wash, dun let the soap stay on you too long, it really does burn. Once I called 2 separate stables in a day and bathed twice, the second time when the water splashed on me I practically jumped like a cat. I guess the germicidal soap really eats into your skin. The fun starts in the bath with all the soapy grinding (dun let it go on too long, for the love of god, your skin will thank you.) and sometimes their blowjob starts in the shower. Then you move on to the bed. I will say 100% my nipples will be attacked, 100% they will give amazing blowjobs (the difference will be a good blowjob vs a blow your brains out blowjob) and 60% they will lick my whole body. The many times I called for 3P, they tend to take turns with the blowjob, only one duo acceded to my request to blow me at the same time with each taking one side of the shaft (my kink). For the main event, they always place the condom by my side discreetly, I have never had one put it on for me by them for some reason. It’s like they are strongly suggesting I put it on, sometimes even going so far as to place it by me multiple times when we change position, but never once have I put it on nor have I been stopped by them when I don’t put it on. Never had a problem with them. Even Emu who supposedly don’t even bottom didn’t protest during. He did make a comment after that I should at least wrap it before entering in him, but he still cuddled me closely after and didn’t seem cold. Now I wonder if that is part of their practice of leaving the choice of wearing a condom up to the client. The shops do always say condoms are a must, but some don’t provided during, all that I have engaged never enforce or protest. Do educate me if I have been taking advantage of them. I do let them know I am on PrEp, though some of the younger ones don’t really seem to know what that is. Those that don’t bottom will usually give minimally a good blowjob, licking of nipples and or body parts (one sucked my toe which felt strangely sexy), loads of hugs and body to body rubba rubba and deep kisses, really great boyfriend effect. Anyway that sums up my experiences in Tokyo and I hope this helps anyone who are looking for paid fun there and don’t know where to start.

  13. I’ve been in Tokyo for 5 weeks now. Having a wonderful time and while I’m not having sex every day, I have definitely had more action in 5 weeks here than I have in a year in the SF Bay Area where I live. So far I only paid once. I’ve met a few guys on Grindr - one looks like he’ll be a regular, had a little luck in the toilets in Shinjuku station and have also had a lot of fun at 24 Kaikan in Shinjuku. Today I went to Thermae Yu, an onsen/spa complex in Kabukicho after an amazing massage in the morning. But as happens when I got to these places, I see hot bodies and nice dicks and I get horny. I decided I would go to 24 Kaikan to see if I fared any better than I did at the one in Ueno where I went at about the same time (2 p.m.) on a Friday afternoon. I was expecting it to be just a bunch of old guys. I’d been there on a weekday afternoon before and it seemed to me that they get busy at lunch and then the place empties out until about 3 when a new crowd starts arriving for the evening shift. But I was horny and thought I could spend a few hours there. Why are the people at the desk so unfriendly? In every other Japanese establishment, you are greeted by a hearty ā€œirasshaimasseā€, but at the gay cruising places I’ve been to, it always seems like they are angry you are there. Well, once I got past grumpy, I stripped and went up to the baths, did the bathing ritual and walked back to the showers. As I was entering the shower area, I caught a glimpse of a thin guy walking back towards the sauna with what looked like an enormous hardon. did my eyes deceive me? I had to go find him to see if it was true. I walked into the sauna and it was dark so I couldn’t see well. There were two guys there. One on the left and one on the right. I took a chance with the one on the left. I sat next to him and put my arms behind me to support myself. Within seconds he was touching me. I reached over and touched him. He had a thin hard body. As I reached down to his crotch - BINGO - yep, it was true. It was a big fat one. So in case you didn’t catch that. I paid, stripped, washed and within minutes was playing with a huge cock on a slim young guy. He was cut, so I was trying to figure out where he was from. I found out later he was Malay, from Malaysia. We played a bit in the sauna but it got too hot, so we moved to a shower stall with glory holes (my preferred spot because people can watch and maybe participate, but you don’t have to deal with the aggressive grabbing that sometimes happens in other areas). We didn’t stay there long because he wanted to fuck me, so we went upstairs and climbed into a bunk bed. Yadda yadda yadda - he came, but I didn’t. I thought that was it. We returned to the bathing area and as we were storing our towels he asked if he could keep in touch with me. I said yes and agreed to give him my number. We went in to wash up. He sat down on a stool, but I went back to the showers. When I finished and returned to the bathing area, he was gone. But then he reappeared and got into one of the baths. I hadn’t cum yet, and it was now pretty crowded, so I went into the back to explore. It didn’t take long until I somehow found myself involved in a threesome in the steam room that eventually turned into an orgy. My question about Ueno vs Shinjuku had been answered. There definitely was more action in Shinjuku. There were quite a few Caucasian guys and a lot of Asian guys who were probably not Japanese, but on vacation. I think there were some Japanese there as well. It was hot and it was active, and as a 65-year old white guy who has seen better days, I was still quite popular and in demand. I was sucking on a beautiful cock and came and slipped through the crowd in the sauna to find my Malaysian friend still sitting in the bath waiting for me. I nodded and left the wet area and he followed. I went down to my locker and he followed. I thought we’d just exchange numbers and he would stay, but when he saw me getting dressed, he also got dressed. We left together and exchanged numbers outside. I thought that was the end. He suggested we go for tea. To be honest, I really wanted to go home and relax. I told him I was tired and just wanted to go home. I said I’d walk him to Shinjuku station. Again, he mentioned going for tea. The more I thought about it, what was I going to do - return to my Airbnb and scroll on Grindr? We went to Muji cafe and had iced tea and talked. When he found out I liked Malaysian/Indonesian food, he suggested an Indonesian restaurant in Kabukicho, so we went for dinner. At this point, I couldn’t just send him home because it was rush hour and the trains would be packed, so I invited him back to my place figuring we’d just snuggle until it was a better time for him to get on a train. My Airbnb is about a 15 minute walk from Shinjuku station. We got on the bed together and talked a bit while we snuggled. Eventually he started grinding on me and finally said, ā€œI have to take it outā€ and there it was - this enormous cock begging for attention. I sucked him until he came. He showered, and I walked him to Okubo station. He said he will see me every weekend until I leave. While I’ve had good luck at 24-Kaikan before, it never happened this quickly and not just with the Malaysian, but also with the orgy that formed around me. Is it because it’s summer and there are a lot of horny tourists in town? I don’t know. But for anyone wondering if older guys can still have fun or if afternoons are worth it, yes to both. The past few times I’ve gone I went on weekend afternoons because I don’t like it when it’s super crowded, but today, a Friday afternoon, it was very busy and I was very popular. I really don’t want to go back to the drought at home, but for now, I’m just enjoying the popularity and look forward to seeing my new Malaysian friend a few more times before I leave.

  14. Just some photos from a month long trip to South America. In all I visited four countries and wish i had had time to visit more. I particularly loved Cusco, the stopping off point for most people visiting Machu Picchu. There are so many valleys around the city that I would love to explore had I enough cash and was a few years younger! Rio with Cocacabana in the background Colonial architecture in Buenos Aires The Dutarte Mausoleum where Eva Peron is buried A small part of the breathtaking iguazu Falls. When Eleanor Roosevelt visited, she is said to have exclaimed, "Poor Niagara!" The Andes towering over Santiago If you fly down from Santiago to Punta Arenas in the far south in the daytime make sure you have a window seat on the left side of the aircraft so that the wonders of the South American Ice Sheet are easily viewed The Perito Moreno Glacier from the air - allegedly one of the few advancing glaciers in the world My favourite shop in Punta Arenas in the far south - a chocolate shop! The amazing Torres de Paine granite mountains A herd of guanaco native to South America About to enjoy a gaucho lunch The huge Perito Moreno Glacier at ground level The multi-colours of buildings in Lima The Cathedral in the town square of Cusco with the city's flag similar to the rainbow-coloured gay flag Finally the sight that everyone comes to see - Machu Picchu

  15. I have to say that even at the risk of sounding like a dinosaur I point blank REFUSE to "download a menu on your phone" or "order from our App" or 'use our QR to order" I just plain refuse and say "No thanks, I'd rather not would you bring me a paper menu please" and 95% of the time they ( usually begrudgingly) trot off to try and find one whilst moaning about " we aren't really meant to use these anymore but I found you one out the back". The reason is my eyesight is bad enough trying to read a proper menu never mind scrolling through my own own and also I always feel a paper menu is as much a part of the experience of the place as everything else and to have to revert to my phone and view usually a badly designed App that doesn't work as it should does nothing to improve MY dining experience ( quite the opposite in fact). The only exception I found to this was in a Japanese restaurant in Como in Italy last month when on seeing QR codes everywhere and me about to start into my "sorry no" speech they actually brought each of us our own personal large Ipad type device which had a very well designed menu set up on there, all set up basically as an online shop, where you scrolled through and selected the type and quantities of sushi you wanted and that order went straight into the kitchen and so no further staff interaction was required, which I thought well if we HAVE to do it THIS is the way to go ! But still hard to beat a good well laid out menu in a nice leather folder.

  16. members in disagreement would do forum great service by moving their discussion to private message section as membership at large not necessarily dreams about being lured into such disagreements. We are at liberty to skip posts and use " ignore ' function for those posters we don't like for whatever reason. Certainly we readers are not here to massage anybody's ego, certain things we may love , others not at all and my vent our opinion freely although not necessarily fairly.

    The dangers of Colombia

In my opinion, there were minor and big red flags that James missed: Alejandro contacted him, not the other way round. He used a new profile, without any information. He wore the exact same clothes in his photos with the same haircut, as if they were taken that same day. No cedula, a huge red flag. Alejandro acting very nervous when James invited him to his airBnB. Other tips to remain safe: 'No dar papaya', don't flash with fancy stuff, dress down & blend in. Keep low key. Don't brag about how much you earn or how much savings you have to the people you meet. Be very careful with the apps. Meet in public and watch for red flags. Use your instincts. If something feels odd, just walk away. Nightlife in Colombia can be a lot of fun, but there is a danger in it. Don't get drunk, don't do drugs. Go in a group, with people you can trust and who will look out for you. Look out for them. It helps a lot if you speak (basic) Spanish. The more you know about the guy, the better. If he shares his (real) social media with you (instagram, facebook,..), that is definitely a plus. I would not meet at his location. If you rent an Airbnb, make sure that it has security. Use a love motel if you don't want to bring him to your room. Don't walk alone in empty streets or in bad neighbourhoods, take an uber at night. Always be aware of your surroundings, even more so when using your phone. Take an old smartphone with you and keep your fancy phone at the hotel. Only install the apps you will use (no banking apps). Only take the cash you need when leaving the hotel/AirBnB. If you take a debit card with you, don't charge it with a lot of money (I use a 'wise' card for that purpose). Be careful with ATMs, only use the ones in shopping malls. Put a 20 mil or 50 mil banknote somewhere in a separate pocket (your 'take me home' money). I met a lot of guys in Colombia and never had a problem.. but one mistake can have dire consequences.

  18. Day 27 in Da Nang – 20 May 2025 I wake up at 6:30am sweating and I don’t understand what is going on. I notice that the air conditioner is off and I try to turn it back on, and then I realize that there is NO electricity in my condo. I try to make myself sleep some more and I toss and turn until around 7:30am my landlord sends me the below WhatsApp message: So puzzle solved. It is useless to try to sleep some more and I get up and eat breakfast. Back in Jomtien where I live at VT, they also have scheduled power outages for maintenance purposes. To date, there have been no power brownouts here in Da Nang, and I can say the same for Cebu and Jomtien. So, this morning I am limited to using just my laptop with its small screen until the power runs out – but I think that it will last until the return of the electricity scheduled for 2pm. I receive a sad email from AFICS-T https://www.aficsthailand.com/ which is an association for us retirees based in Bangkok – mainly for ex UN staff. When I separated from the UN in March 2022, I joined which is the association for us retirees – but mainly with a focus on those retirees residing in Italy. Shortly after I arrived in Thailand, I joined AFICS-T, as I wanted to be kept up to date about retiree life in Thailand – as the FFOA does not really offer much for those of us in Asia. It seems that there are no volunteers putting themselves forward to serve on the Executive Board and as per their by-laws they may need to shut down. In addition, another email arrives from the AFICS-T sub-group, known as FLiT (Foreigner Living in Thailand) that they are disbanding FLiT due to the above possible shut down of AFICS-T. So, I spend a good part of the morning to see if AFICS-T may be able to salvage itself – as this is disheartening if it cannot be saved, especially in light of the ongoing UN80 turmoil: https://www.crisisgroup.org/global-united-states/doing-less-with-less-un So, not a good start to today’s morning. I post yesterday’s trip report update. Around 1:10pm, there is a beeping sound and the return of the electricity – yahoo!!! I close all of the windows and reactivate the airconditioning. Around 2pm I head back to for my usual – but today I have a purpose to break the ice with that cute Vietnamese barista that I have a crush on. When I arrive, we are already like family and before I can open my mouth they tell me that I would like to order a salt coffee with a chicken club sesame seed bagel. We all laugh as I tell them – oops, I always eat a poppy seed bagel. I eat my meal and I wait until the guys are bored and there are no other customers and I walk over to all of them and I say: ā€œHave you seen the BĆ”nh Bao dance beat?ā€ They don’t understand me and ask me if I want to eat a I say no, wait a minute and I show them the BĆ”nh Bao YouTube dance video (that I posted in my yesterday trip report update). They all start laughing and are amazed that some crazy foreigner mixed that annoying BĆ”nh Bao sound into a disco dance beat. I try to get closer to the sexy barista but the kind-of-cute male cashier tries instead to get my attention. He is nice but not what I desire. So, I then decide to leave and now I can have the freedom to tease the cute barista (when he is alone) with the BĆ”nh Bao disco dance. All happy and elated with my sinister plot I decide that today is a good day to walk to the end of Da Nang city – on the beach. It is a very tiring walk (beach sand) but I need some good exercise and the constant wind coming off of the sea is refreshing – even if the intense sun can be annoying – but I am armed with my Crocodile Dundee hat. I reach the point where the beach promenade stops, and the beach road narrows and curves, and starts it assent up into SĘ”n TrĆ  Mountain (aka Monkey Mountain). I take some photos of the iconic ā€œthung chaiā€ = ā€œbasket boatsā€ that the local fisherman use here. Here in Da Nang, the fishermen use these basket boats to oar out to their anchored fishing boats. In the video below, you can see one in action. 20250520_162819.mp4 Now totally dehydrated and exhausted I call a Grab car to take me back to my AirBnB. The Grab driver speaks great English and he makes me laugh, so I show him the BĆ”nh Bao dance video on YouTube and he is in awe that some foreigner took this mundane annoying sound and turned it into a song. He gets the YouTube information so that he can show it to his friends. I really enjoyed my time with him and he gives me his business card – where on the back are 4 distinct QR codes for , , , and . This is EXACTLY what I want for my BF’s to-be-created business cards where instead of chat apps they would be food delivery apps. I decide that I might hire this Grab driver when I will need to go to the airport to pickup my BF when he arrives from Thailand. I chat with BF and then I fall asleep for a short nap. Wake up and I feel hungry for Middle Eastern food and I walk around until I find: https://www.facebook.com/zzeytun.nha.hang There is a very sexy HOT arab looking man sitting at one of the other tables and after I ordered I understood that he was the cook – as he disappeared into the kitchen after my order was taken. I order the lamb shish kebab with kabsa rice and a plate of falafels with hummus dip and salad. The rice and the hummus were great. However, the lamb was overcooked and tough, and the pita bread was too hard. So, out of 10, I would give tonight’s meal a vote of 6. And perhaps a 12, if I was allowed to get on my knees and worship the hot Arab chef, who I later found out is from Lebanon. I can only imagine what was hiding in his pants – but he was very heterosexual and the female Vietnamese owner has him on a tight leash. I had seen the below post by our forum member = @alexch, and I imagined that the Arab chef had the same tool as in alexch’s post: What a piece of Arab meat in that post - thank you alexch. Mamma mia!!! Afterwards, while I am walking towards my favorite coconut ice cream food cart – a very sexy 20 year old Vietnamese kid, decides to chat me up with the excuse of wanting to practice his English. I already knew that this would be a scam or sales pitch for something else – as this already happened to me by 2 other paired Vietnamese university students who got me to buy some unneeded Vietnamese coffee – but I enjoyed my time with them. So, this kid tells me he is a university student in Economics and he needs to practice his English with real foreigners like me, because he will have an oral English proficiency exam at his university. He is truly adorable, manly, but very much a Fonzie type of Vietnamese kid. Anyway, he finally arrives at the true purpose of his approach when he finally asks me a dangerous question: ā€œCan you guess what I want from you?ā€ After the previous Arab chef meeting – I had to force myself to respond with, ā€œyou want to sell me something….ā€ (I really wanted to say, can I bring you to my bed in my nearby condo?). He laughs – and says yes, but you have to guess what it is. Well he did not have any coffee products like the other university students that I encountered days ago, so I was perplexed. I said, No – what is it you want to sell me? He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a pen – but this pen has a thick inkwell – which I really like as I hate when my favorite pen runs out of ink. So, I ask him the price. He says, that he normally sells it for 30k, but today because he really likes me I can have it for 20k (around $0.77 USD). So, I give him 50k and I tell him to keep the change. He turns bright red – I guess he never met a crazy gullible stupid American before. In the interval, I show the kid the BĆ”nh Bao dance video on YouTube and he is amazed and really likes it. He takes the information about the video so that he can show his friends – he even makes some sexy dance moves to the video. After his redness passes, he tells me that his university gives him a quota to sell 2 pens per day and he only sold 1 pen for today. So, I give him another 50K for the 2nd pen and tell him to keep the change. Now he is flabbergasted and he insists on buying me something to eat – I tell him – no thanks, I already ate my dinner and I am on my way to get a coconut durian ice cream and I ask him if he also wants one. He says yes and I order us 2 of them. The shop already knows me, but I can sense that they are perplexed as to why a 63 year old foreigner is with a 20 year old Vietnamese kid – this is definitely NOT Pattaya. Then off in the distance I see Samy Social (the YouTube blogger) approaching, and I turn my back, so he won’t see me, as I don’t want this recorded on his YouTube broadcast. So, we finish our ice creams and part ways and that was definitely an enjoyable interaction. I head back to my room exhausted – it is now 11pm and I chat with my BF as he is closing his shop 30 minutes early tonight because – AGAIN – it is raining in Pattaya and the market is completely empty. I try to cheer him up. Afterwards, I can’t get that hot Arab chef out of my mind, so I fire up some Arab porn and I go to town until the resulting šŸ†šŸ’¦šŸ’¦ End of day 27 in Da Nang – 20 May 2025

    Transitioning

Finally, the day arrived. Yesterday was the last day of schools in the network that employs me, and I had my retirement ceremony. My last day is July 3rd. My condo is in the market, as soon as it is sold and all the paperwork done, I am flying away. I will keep working part-time but only online. The first step is Buenos Aires. I think I will end my days over there, so I want to set my health insurance but not yet my base. Once my health is checked and covered, I will start slow traveling. My visits to Brazil and Colombia have been always no more Tham two weeks, and I want to get that feeling of coitus interruptus out of my system. I may start my travels with a couple of months in Brazil (Rio and Fortaleza or Salvador) and then Colombia (Medellin & Cartagena). Then I will return to Argentina to spend holidays with family and friends. After that, I do not know yet. I hope to meet some of you somewhere around the world, but my heart (and most of my time) will always be in South America.

  20. When I lived here in the 90s, I had a lot of fun in the toilets in Shinjuku Station and the BYGS building in ni-chome. When I came back 20 years later, in 2015, I thought Grindr and security cameras had put an end to all of that. On this trip, out of curiosity, I stopped by the toilet in Shinjuku Station and found it was still cruisy. Nothing happened on that first visit. Since then, every time I’m in the station, I have stopped by there, just to see what is going on. Today, Saturday, I went to Thermae Yu, a sento/onsen/spa where I think things might happen, but so far I’ve not had any luck. After seeing some beautiful young bodies, I was horny and on my way home, stopped in the toilet again. This time it was very active. Several younger guys were standing at the urinals and it was clear they were interested in me. One guy went from the urinal to a stall. I followed. He had the door open. I stood there looking to see what he would do because there were still people at the stalls and I didn’t want to be obvious. Some older Japanese guy just came over and stood in front of me - um, hello, you were not invited sir. I signaled to the guy in the stall to go somewhere else. I walked out and he followed. Then I let him lead the way. He took me around the corner to another restroom and went into the handicap stall. I followed. We had a fun time. He had a really nice dick and seriously wanted to get fucked. We just fooled round until he came and then I left. To be honest, I was feeling nervous. I guess the part of my brain that considers consequences hadn’t fully developed in my 30s, but at 65, I was imagining the police dragging me off to jail. Anyway, for those who might be interested. The cruisy toilet in Shinjuku station is right outside of Odakyu Department store. I think the exits are A17 and A18. You’ll know it when you see it. There are usually guys standing outside of it or around the corner. I’m glad to see it is still active. Not sure how much I will actually play there, but back in the day, I met some great guys who became fuck buddies.

  21. I not surprised as it happened to me in my country quite few times. " Why you going that often?", "do you know somebody there?" etc. Most drastic was when I was subject of such interrogation while coming from completely different destination, just because Thai stamps in passport. Twice I had my luggage searched and was questioned why my travel diary has small child photo on the cover!!!!! I did not have phone searched but was asked once to show pictures in my camera from recent trip. And my country is considered paragon of being liberal mind you!

    Kaikan Onsen

Arrived around 7 pm. Really beautiful and pleasant gay onsen with nicely done pools and jacuzzis. Well maintained and looked clean. Thursday evening maybe 20-25 guests, mostly slim or athletic twinks. I think there were 3-4 men over 30 me included. I was the only farang. They have very nice naked only cruising space (not totally dark); yesterday at 8 pm tops got blue, vers silver and bottoms green neon wristbands. And 80% were bottoms šŸ˜€. I felt bad for the guys. I did not create any obvious interests, appart from one middle aged Chinese guy. The cruising looked tamed, basically guys made a contact and then moved to the free rooms. One triple group was active in the public space. Lots of eye candy. Nobody consumed alcohol, I had two beers. I would say that in Taipei Commander B bar twinks get tipsy and raunchy. Last time, among others, there was a small queue of twinks who were topping one older farang in jockstrap. Well, nothing happened here (and I tend to be shy in saunas). I left around 21.30 and I saw some others leaving as well. Entry 450, beer 90 baht. I got one free entry ticket. Since I have a ā€žholiday bfā€œ, a career twink who likes older guys, I may visit the place with him again. Its just a peaceful and nice place with slender and gracious (and some muscle) twinks roaming around🤣. I guess weekends could be more busy and interesting. Some guys arrived and skipped the aquatic pleasures and moved directly to the cruising area (2nd floor). In onsen one must be careful with many slippery and underwater stairs.

  24. Day 36 in Da Nang – 29 May 2025 Breakfast at home and post 28 May updates. For lunch, I head back to: https://www.instagram.com/safariproject.danang/ and I order the fresh salmon benedict toast dish: With a salt coffee. By now I am family in this place – especially with the (I am quasi sure) 2 gay Vietnamese wait staff. It makes for great camaraderie and fun. This time the Russian wife is there and I compliment her on her husband’s rose and snicker vodka homemade drink. She looks puzzled at me – and points to the other Russian guy – who I assumed was the chef / friend and says to me that he is my husband. Instead the one that I thought was her husband – the sexy one – is instead a business partner who came along for the adventure from St. Petersburg to Da Nang. Furthermore, she explains to me that the ā€œroseā€ vodka that I drank was NOT made from roses but was instead raspberries – as I blushed. That explains why when I tasted it the other day that it was not like the Bulgarian rose wine that I had enjoyed some years back. Anyway, she offers me today a non-alcoholic beverage made from bread – it was good. What I like about this place is that it is always full of unexpected pleasant surprises. I ask her to sit at my table for a moment and I out myself (like it wasn’t obvious already) and tell her that my Thai boyfriend will arrive tonight and I would like to bring him to her restaurant and I ask her if there is (or could be) any items on the menu that can be extra spicy – as most Thai people are not happy without their taste buds tingling from that burning spice sensation. She looks at the menu and says no – (link to current menu) https://maps.app.goo.gl/c2KiNNZbx2RkLFbu8 but then goes and asks the chef (her true husband) if there is anything that they could prepare for my BF that could be spicy. She tells me that they are going to soon be introducing a night-time menu that will include a shrimp dish made from a spicy mango sauce. I tell her that my BF loves shrimps – so this will probably be perfect and we will stop by one day soon. I decide on the way back to my room that I want to buy 2 more part polyester t-shirts – as they are perfect for the never ending humidity here – as the majority of my t-shirts are made from cotton which do not hide the perspiration very well. Amazingly, the 2 stores that I noted that had these types of t-shirts are already closed and out of business. That is something I never saw in either Cebu or Jomtien – this constant quick turnover of businesses. Yes this does sometimes happen in Jomtien but not at the frequency found here in Da Nang. So, no additional polyester t-shirts were bought today. My BF alerted me earlier that by 11:10am he was already in a Grab car for Suvarnabhumi airport and had already successfully completed the check in procedure for his first ever international flight. He was already in the waiting area – with 2 hours to kill. Unfortunately, I notice that the flight is delayed – at that moment by 10 minutes – and I share the notification with him: I remind him again that his Thai SIM card won’t work when he lands in Da Nang and to search for the free airport WiFi service so that we can keep in contact. At 5pm, I hire a Grab car to take me to the arrivals part of the Da Nang airport. What I love about the Da Nang International Airport is that it is very small and when there is no flight activity it is like a ghost town. So, when I arrive at 5:30pm, there is hardly anyone waiting and his flight is listed as ā€œDelayedā€ by only 10 minutes. Shortly after I arrive – the passengers arriving from Don Mueang – with their flight arriving 20 minutes EARLY – wow – they are streaming out of the exit doors and the former ghost town area is now like a mini-Thai village. Finally at 5:45pm, his flight arrives – only 15 minutes later than the scheduled arrival time even though the departure time was delayed by 38 minutes – so I guess the captain gave it full throttle to make up some of the lost time. We make contact and he sends me a photo of himself in the very long immigration line. But not too bad, because by 6:30pm he is already outside with me and we embrace and head over to the Grab car service designated departure area. I know for most of the gayguides readership – this is no big news – as most of us travel frequently - but I was proud of my guy – as he managed his first international flight experience very well. I teased him in the Grab car saying that he is no longer a village boy but now a sophisticated international man. He is hungry – he did not eat since his breakfast – so I take him over to the beach promenade and we walk over to the famous beach front seafood restaurant that has an ever impressive number of seafood aquariums (perhaps around 50 tanks). https://www.facebook.com/OtXanhOceanRestaurant We had to wait for a table to be cleaned up – so that we could have a perfect corner table overlooking the external balcony beach area. It was great. We ate like 2 little pigs (ok, 1 normal Thai and one enlarged farang). Now fully stuffed, just before approaching our condo building a cute barker solicits us for feet/leg massages and my BF says to me – let us do it. I have walked by this place a million times – its name is: (this is the on-the-beach branch). https://maps.app.goo.gl/oFQLpa8uvq52AMxE7 I usually never do these as I am very ticklish – but I accommodate him and we both sit on these nice cushioned beach chairs and 2 ladies ( the cute guys never do the massaging ) take care of us – it was truly an enjoyable 45 minutes and I did not feel tickled too much. Unfortunately, during the massage my BF suddenly needs to go to the bathroom and tells me when he returns to complete his massage that we need to go to the pharmacy. He has intestinal disturbances (I was like wow – I did not get those until the end of my first week here and he already has them after only being here for a couple of hours). We visit a nearby pharmacy and like in Thailand – they are very diligent to dispense something for his ailment. We go home and just relax and eventually fall asleep cuddled. Not too exciting a report – but it is a nice way to end this long anticipated day. End of day 36 in Da Nang – 29 May 2025

  25. We know Trump is a liar. He lies all the time. White lies? Not a bit of it. Whopping great big iies on the international stage - and he gets away with it! Anyone who does not believe that is living in some weird fantasy world. Take his Oval Office meeting with the South African President last week, Cyril Ramaphosa. He accused Ramaphosa of the systematic killing of white farmers. Rubbish! He has already permitted several white farmers refugee status in the USA because otherwise they would be victims of genocide. Rubbish! He dimmed the Oval Office lights to show a video showing roughtly 1,000 white crosses. "They're all white farmers, the family of white farmers . . . those people are all killed." Rubbish! For these were not graves. They were props which had been placed during a demonstration as a protest some years ago. They were then removed, but of course the video does not show that. Trump then pulled out a blog post showing an image of South Afrcia. Only it was not South Africa. It was the Democratic Republic of Congo. After the meeting, Trump as he always does doubled down on his false claims. Also on that Trump trip was his DOGE, the South African Elon Musk who had earlier been party to the false allegations of mass murder of white farmers. Yet Musk's shareholders are surely now a very unhappy bunch. Not only are Tesla models worldwide being outsold by China's BYD cheaper electric vehicles (Warren Buffet's company had seen its 10% investment in BYD made in 2008 rise by a huge 41 times by June 2022), its sales are dramatically down. In Europe alone: 59% in France, 81% in Sweden, 74% in the Netherlands, 66% in Denmark, 50% in Switzerland and 33% in Portugal. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2025/may/24/elon-musk-doge-scott-galloway Britain is now seeing what has become quite an extended backlash against Brexit, the 2016 exit from the European Union. The verdict was extremely narrow and one reason for that were the lies told by the Brexit campaigners (called in an article in today's Observer newspaper "mendacious garbage"). Leaving the EU would free up Ā£350 million per week to aid the National Health Service was one of their many false claims. Rubbish! To mention just two, there has been outrage in the UK from small businesses about the massive amount of form filling now required for exporting their products, and from individual Britons who now have to pass passport checks every time they enter and leave an EU country. I had to do that last year to get into Holland and then out from there to Switzerland. It was huge time wasting madness! Overall, the Observer reckons Brexit has already cost the UK "tens of billions of pounds." 55% of Britons now say Brexit was wrong. Now, though, the new government has taken the Brexit bull by the horns to undo some of that madness. A Brexit reset is finally under way. Immigration controls throughout Europe are being reconsidered, as are items like farming policy. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/may/23/britain-left-eu-reset-keir-starmer-tories Finally, Israel. During my education, the mass murder in Vietnam meant little. It was way too far away. The beleaguered state of Israel, on the other hand needed help and many students spent a month or two in the summer working in kibbutz - and were happy to do so. Now, though, the ghastly and disastrous actions of the Netanyahu government in the virtual destruction of Gaza and its inhabitants seems to concern none in power anywhere in the world to the extent that they will actually do something to stop it. Just today we learn of the family of a doctor, a paediatric specialist dedicated to saving lives, nine of whose ten children were massacred by a missile strike when sleeping in their own home. A tenth child and her husband remain seriously injured. And the Israel Defense Forces have the absolute gall to announce in the light of this particular massacre, "The claim regarding harm to uninvolved civilians is under review.ā€ WIll any israeli be charged with murder? Of course not! Israel's constant lies are worse than Trump's. At least Trump does not kill - yet! When will all the killing and the lying stop?

  26. They have to. For them, its a win win situation. Harassing keep the businesses on their toes, and in turn will make sure they pay tea money consistently. At the same time, it shows to the public, goody two shoes citizens, that they are doing their jobs. Rinse and repeat, each time they need to raise tea money. As long as businesses keep open, a bit of harassment, especially during low season, when customer is low anyway, wont disturbed much of the BIB income, as they would always insist on getting their share regardless how much the bar is making. A second scenario i can think of, the group of BIB that do the harassment, arent the same one thats getting the tea money. But, they will alert the businesses of potential harassment so the businesses will be prepared, such as making sure boys are cover up, pretend to work as waiter etc. In return of giving the insider info, businesses will keep paying them tea money.

    Tokyo: 24 Kaikan

Hey guys, I wanted to do a quick report about 24 Kaikan Ueno and Shinjuku. Might be like comparing apples and oranges because I went on different days, but for what it’s worth, if anyone is wondering which one to choose, here’s my most recent experience. On Friday I stopped by the one in Ueno. I decided to check it out because I’d heard it was for a more mature crowd and those who admire them. I think I got there around 2 p.m. Maybe not the best time. There were a few guys soaking in the baths, a few in the mist sauna and a few upstairs in the beds. One or two of them appealed to me, but I didn’t make a move because I hate when my hand is brushed away. I figured I’d signal my interest and let them make the first move. They didn’t. Shy or uninterested? I’ll never know. After going from floor to floor and seeing very few options, I returned to the mist sauna. Two guys were sitting across from each other. One was older and the other, who was right next to me seemed like he was in good shape. I felt like I was interrupting something, so I left. When I returned a few minutes later, they were playing around. I reached over to the guy next to me and he didn’t brush my hand away. We fooled around a little. He was gorgeously built. But then he stood up and motioned for me to follow, so the three of us went back to the showers. I guess I’d misunderstood, because when we arrived, it was clear he wasn’t interested. I just admired him while he showered and left. I don’t know if I would have had better luck at a later time, but I probably won’t return. The crowd seemed 100% Japanese. On Saturday afternoon, it was raining heavily and I decided to spend the afternoon at 24 Kaikan Shinjuku. At least I’d be doing something indoors away from the crowds. A guy I was chatting with on Sniffies told me no one would be there. He was going between 5-6. I’d gone early on the weekend before, so I knew there was a chance I’d meet someone. It was actually pretty busy when I arrived. I fooled around with a few guys in the steam room and then went to take a shower. Some of the showers have glory holes. Through the holes in my shower wall, I could see this hunk on the other side who had some major tattoos. He also had a huge dick. He wasn’t Japanese and I couldn’t really figure out where he was from. When I motioned for him to put his dick through the hole, he did. A nice big uncut piece. It was hard to suck it properly through a glory hole, so I told him to let me in his stall and he did. Then another guy showed up on the other side with an equally nice, though not as fat, uncut dick. My hunk liked to get fucked, and while I fucked him a little, this new dick was better equipped for his big ass. Long story short, I invited him into our shower stall and the three of us played around until the hunk came. It was really hot, in many ways. We were all covered in sweat. After that, and a rest, I played around with a smooth Chinese guy and finally met a Korean guy who fucked me twice. By then, it had gotten very crowded and while there were more choices, there was also more competition, and many of the play areas were taken. I was glad I went early. It seemed to me that the places with more foreign visitors like 24 Kaikan Shinjuku, resulted in better luck for me. Even when I was hot and in my 30’s living in Japan, Japanese tended to be pretty sticky and only attracted to other Japanese, but the foreigners don’t really seem to care. I can’t remember when I’ve had such a hot time. Wondering if anyone has been to Ueno or Asakusa (I used to go there in the 90s because the Shijnjuku location didn’t exist), but for now, I think I’ll stick to going to Shinjuku on weekend afternoons.

  28. Day 21 in Da Nang – 14 May 2025 After last nights wild sex escapade, there is a lot of laundry to do – mainly those lovely towels that I bought in my first days here in Da Nang to protect the massage bed need to be thoroughly washed. But I don’t mind this chore – as the reward was worth it. After posting my 13 May trip report updates – I perform another search on AirBnB and after looking at many other condo options, I decide to extend this current condo where I am through the end of June. One less thing to worry about. You may remember that in Cebu, I had to change many AirBnBs because I was trying to find the ā€œholy grailā€ perfect condo with a nice sea view with a big balcony on the sea. Well, since this is my 3rd visit to Da Nang, I already know which neighbourhood is like Jomtien, and I am already in a condo that meets all of my Jomtien-like equivalents (high floor, laptop workstation, great internet, big balcony with sea view, rapid access to many restaurants, quick access to a sandy clean beach where you can walk for kilometres uninterrupted, etc.) -AND- this landlady has been great with constant gifts of coconuts and mangos – so why move. On 22 July 2025, my 90 day tourist visa will expire, when I will need to either: Do a border run on the famous bus to Laos to obtain another 90 day tourist visa within the same day – however, the entire process takes the entire day between 12 to 15 hours, https://lynnvisa.vn/ 2. Fly out of Da Nang and go somewhere else and either: Stay there for 40 days and return to Thailand in September from that location, Fly out and back to Vietnam within the same day using a special visa agent to get another 90 day tourist visa. By now it is 2pm and I am hungry for lunch. I decide that I want to break my daily habit of always going to -OR- , so I set my sights on the famous all day breakfast place = Op la Cafe https://www.facebook.com/oplacafe over on the famous An Thuong 2 street. Unfortunately, in the moment that I arrive, it is crowded with the backpacker hippie beachcomber surfer crowd and the place looks very disheveled and disorderly – as there are still many tables in disarray that have yet to be cleared and cleaned. So I bail out and return to for my usual Chicken Club and salt coffee. Eating at the Op la Cafe shall be for another day. Afterwards, I take a nice walk on the beach promenade, but my head is burning again from the intense sun, so I decide that today I am going to buy a ā€œCrocodile Dundeeā€ type of Australian hat: The last time I wore a similar hat was in the late 1980s, when I lived in Denver, and I started Cowboy dancing as my then hobby. I am not normally the hat wearing type of person – but I see many people wearing these out on the beach and/or beach promenade – so I decide to join their club. I have read that it can take many days to create a new habit – so I strategically put this new hat at the door of the condo – with the hope that I will be encouraged to put it on when exiting the condo during the daytime. In my opinion, this hat was incredibly cheap, at 100,000 VND (around $3.86 USD). Back to my room for a nice nap – oh the joys of being a retiree. Wake up and shower and I return for dinner at the Pizza House https://www.facebook.com/pizzahousedanangvietnam/# But this time, I order a pepperoni pizza, instead of the Australian beef tenderloin, that I ate on day 14 of my stay here (which confused some of our gayguides readers as they did not expect me to eat a steak in a restaurant that has pizza in its name). It was very good and I can confirm the 4.8 (out of 5) rating that it received in Google reviews. So, this restaurant has very good meat dishes as well as great pizzas. Ok, now the most difficult part of today's trip report: – as I know that I am going to upset some of you and get some well deserved push back, after all of my heartbreak whimpering and whining in the last couple of weeks. Tonight after long chats and conversations with my ex-Thai boyfriend – I decided to: Un-BLOCK him in LINE , Buy him a roundtrip ticket to come and see me in Da Nang on 29 May 2025 Why? I am a sucker for romance – and he made some BIG romantic moves in the last couple of days. He is NOT much of a romantic type of person – so this was a BIG move on his part - when he made me know via a powerful email that he has secretly kept the bouquet of roses (evidenced in the above photo on the right) that I had delivered to him as a BIG surprise on Valentine's Day (while I was in Cebu). He told me that these dried roses are a substitute for the real me and that he is still waiting for me..... So, I conceded to give it one more chance, for the 2 weeks that he will stay in Da Nang with me, to see how it goes. No commitments on either side – but to give it another try. Ok gayguides readers – bring it on – I am ready to be slayed..... Off to bed – it was a long and restless sleep…… End of day 21 in Da Nang – 14 May 2025

  29. I know the Aurora can now be seen in quite a number of countries at certain times of year and certain weather conditions. Back in 2014 it seemed the only guaranteed location was northern Scandinavia, a part of the world I knew little about. So I planned a 10 day trip to Norway, Sweden and Finland in late November, both to see lots of sights but particularly the Aurora. I started off in the lovely city of Bergen I was here for just one day before an evening boarding the daily ferry service that runs up and down the Norwegian coast. I spent 4 days on the ferry visiting a lot of coastal towns and with wonderful scenery in the fjords But it was cloudy every day and so no Northern Lights. I got off past the Arctic Circle at the lovely town of Tromso. This was my little hotel Overnight it had snowed and the town was almost obliterated in white From Tromso I flew in a rather roundabout way to the town of Ivalo beyond the Arctic Circle in Finland. I was staying at a lovely little lodge about 40 kms away and virtually miles from anywhere, although it was close to the Russian border. On my first night there were only two other guests - a couple from Hong Kong! This was the lodge at night With the sun being so low in the sky, walking around there were wondeful views. And the sunsets were spectacular There for four nights, the cloudy weather continued and there was little chance of seeing any sign of the Aurora, apart from a hint of it on the first night. But on the final day when I had almost given up hope the sun came out into an almost cloudless sky. We were told by the lodge staff we would definitely have a light show that night. Parked on a frozen lake in -25 degrees C tripods at the ready, I waited with a young Irish couple. Then around 10:30pm what we had all come to see started - a spectacular light show that was to last almost two and a half hours. I had read all about having to adjust ASA settings and the time for exposures, but when I looked at the photos on my camera screen they seemed not to work well. So I abandoned the advice and just busked it. I had to return to Bangkok through Stockholm which is a lovely city. If you visit, you have to go to the Vasa Museum. The warship Vasa sank on her maiden voyage in 1628. It was salvaged in 1961 and moved to its permanent Museum in 1988. It's absolutely stunning and has been seen by over 45 million visitors. And of course you might see a troll or two! Like my trip to South America, this was purely for sightseeing. I was in too many places to consider checking any of the apps or finding a gay pub. And the staff on the ship all seemed to be almost as old as me!! I thoroughly recommend a similar trip, although I'd probably start from Oslo with what seems to be an amazing train trip to Bergen.

  30. I stopped in Mexico City on the way to Brasil this trip instead of Cancun, stayed 1 night at the Hilton Airport and 3 at the Hampton Inn Centro Histórico. On Grindr and Mileroticos, the escorts were quoting 1500 MXN- 3500 MXN PER HOUR....wtf? ($75-180) with the average about 2000 mxn $100 usd..... but they all strictly mentioned by the hour, asking how many hours I wanted Luckily I found a Cuban near the airport and a Venezuelan downtown that were free hookups on Grindr. Cuban had a huge dick the other guy was normal sized but could fee he was looking for a bf..... both were nice. There were lots of other free options if i lived there, because our schedules didn't line up to meet but they were willing to meet over the weekend, when I would already be gone. I didn't bother going to any bars, especially since it was during the week..... they also have lot's or orgy type parties around the city and sex clubs. Mexico City is one of my favorites but was totally shocked by the money being asked for by the escorts....

  31. I believe that the above is word-for-word what was in the FCO advice fifteen years ago. We, and even more so, US travellers are very fortunate that repercussions from our respective governments' appalling behaviour are so rare. Anywhere. I remember sitting in Chiang Mai Airport in 2003 and seeing a news bulletin on the departure lounge TV. it showed British troops- the Royal Marines- attacking a group of Iraqi youngsters, blindfolding and handcuffing them. One child was so frightened that his whole body was shaking in terror. I was profoundly upset, almost in tears, and ashamed. So much so that a Buddhist monk came to sit with me to comfort me. I count myself lucky to have travelled all over the world and found so many friends at the same time that the UK has made so many enemies.

  33. The next morning at about 8am, my guy went off to work. I checked out of apartment and went back to Ibis Styles. I continued sleeping, now in a more comfortable bed. I woke up for lunch at soi 3 local eating place and came back to hotel and wanted to swim in pool but it started raining. Darn. So I ended up in hotel room watching Netflix the whole afternoon. Thankfully the rain stopped at 5 and I could go out for a walk. I passed by Soi 4 and lo and behold, sitting on a stool was massage guy from Adam Massage. He smiled at me and off we went to his shop for massage! After massage, I went to Shennanigans bar where I had arranged to meet my guy. It was football night and we watched live football matches (English Premier League, Spanish La Liga) for the next few hours - ending with El Classico - Barcelona vs Real Madrid. Both of us were Real Madrid supporters. Unfortunately, Barcelona won the match. We left Shennanigans and walked to Happy Beer Garden. We wanted their private room for karaoke. To our utter disappointment, Happy Beer Garden was closed! "Shall we go to Sky Bar karaoke?" My guy says the rooms at Sky Bar are too big for two people. So we decided to postpone karaoke to next trip. We walked towards Foodland for supper. On the way there, we walked past Good Boys. It was closed as well! "Buddhist holiday?" I asked my guy. But he said his bar was open. And we looked around. Atlas, Hot Male and Dreamboys were all open. At that moment, the waiters from Midnight saw me. They knew it was my last night in Bangkok and cheekily asked for one round of drinks to toast me Happy Birthday one more time and wish me good luck. Sure, why not. They opened a bottle of Jagermeister (which cost 1500 baht) and poured out 10 shot glasses. I then placed a 100 baht note below each shot glass. Everyone gathered around and toasted me loudly. "Happy Birthday! Cheers! Kanpai!"

  35. At the apartment, my guy did the cooking but the other guys helped out as well. There was chicken and beef and lots of leafy vegetables. My guy likes to eat healthy. He insists that I take the chicken drumstick. He says that in Vietnamese culture, the chicken drumstick is offered to the guest of honour or VIP!

  36. It was still drizzling but it was acceptable to walk in the rain. Not the heavy downpour just an hour ago. Just like the previous night, I stopped by at Foodland supermarket to buy a cake. Then I made my way to Midnight bar. The guys there welcomed me happily. They knew I was coming. I sat at sofa with my favourite waiters and bought them drinks. We caught up awhile then I said let's do birthday celebration. All the waiters came over to sofa, the Thai Happy Birthday music song was played and they sang and wished me Happy Birthday. A UK guy who had been sitting at the bar came over to shake my hand and wish me Happy Birthday! Then he left the bar. The waiters told me he's the new co-owner! The other co-owner is a Thai. I enjoyed my 3rd birthday celebration with the waiters. They have become my good friends over the years and I have taken them to DJ station and karaoke several times.

  37. @PeterRS I had been holding my tongue in the hope that this unpleasant and pointless thread would be deleted or drop from sight. However as you seem set on perpetuating it…. It is hard to believe that you can be so obtuse. You seem unable to understand the hints that others have dropped on this thread and others in what seems much like a consensus, so I’ll give you my opinion in a more direct way. Your comments about other active posters and their posting styles, eg this thread, are petty, snide and vindictive and have diminished this forum and discouraged interesting participants from contributing. Your posts are too often full of vainglorious condescension, seem to be ubiquitous and are swamping the board. You have no humility in your posting and can never accept that anyone else has a valid perspective. It’s not a competition, it’s a conversation. Sooner or later I expect you will become terminally offended again, throw another hissy fit and storm out slamming the door behind you. You will leave behind a board diminished not by your absence but by the absence of those you have discouraged from participating on this forum. PS. ā€œThe Dangers of Assumptionsā€ is a deeply pretentious title to a thread that was created solely to stick the knife into a regular, valued and informative poster.

  38. I’m in Tokyo for two months. I retired a year ago, and the US is too crazy right now (plus, I get bored at home), so I came here for a little sanity. I’m trying to hold off on hiring guys and have been exploring places I’ve never been before, like the Glory Hole Place (Suck’d Glory) and other saunas. The toilet in Shinjuku Station where I used to get lucky back in the 90s is still active, though the guys I’ve seen there are not really my type. Anyway, one thing I’ve noticed is there are a lot of guys from Nepal. I met one in 24 Kaikan who then found me on Grindr and said he wanted to meet again (but when I saw him again this past Saturday, he wasn’t interested). Two very hot guys messaged me from Gunma prefecture and I decided to spend a few days in Takasaki, Gunma, just to see something else and also see if either of these guys were available to meet. I’m wondering if anyone has had experience with guys from Nepal. What’s the deal with them? Are these guys gay? Are they gay for pay? Am I asking a question about something that is nothing? It just seems odd to me that so many of them would be contacting me on Grindr. Or is it just not odd at all? (I’m just wondering why guys who are so far away would be contacting ME). BTW, there was another guy, also from Nepal, who was very insistent on Grindr. I could see he was far, so I wasn’t really interested. In a case where I am not really interested, I have a saved phrase that I send immediately (helps weed out the scammers) ā€œShow me your dickā€. I sent him that and he said he didn’t have any photos, so I told him to take one. He said it was 8 cm. I asked, ā€œ8 cm?ā€ To make sure he hadn’t left off a 1. He said it was big. I just kept insisting - take a photo. When he said he wasn’t alone, I told him to go into the bathroom. Normally, I would have just blocked him, but I was having fun in a strange way because the whole interaction was so stupid. Finally, he sent me a photo of a big beautiful cock. But he forgot to crop off the bit at the bottom about where the photo came from (some porn site). I responded with a laughing emoji, but he persisted. Eventually, he did take a photo of his cock. I don’t know if it was 8 cm, but it was small. At that point, I just said, ā€œyou lied to me and I can’t trust youā€ and blocked him. I’m off to Gunma today to see if anything happens, and if it doesn’t, at least I have a few nights in a new place. But, if you have had experience with guys from Nepal, either in Nepal, or in Japan, or anywhere else, I’d love to know your experience.

  41. My ideal agogo bar would be somewhere like Winner Boys (but more effectively managed and promoted than the current owner's health and resources allow). Why? Well it is quite a large enclosed bar in a (n all too) quiet and discrete area. Drink prices are reasonable (certainly in comparison to those of BoyzTown for example), the music not too loud, and the boys very 'friendly' (although not fully Eros friendly). Drinks and flirting and hands inside pants (theirs and/or yours), and almost every boy willing to accompany you back to your hotel to enjoy even-more-intimate moments. Recruiting has not been a strong point in recent years, but there are still quite a few boys who have been there a few years now who are always anxious to help you spend your baht. Even a new boy or two occasionally. It has been a fairly quiet bar of recent years, but in compensation such sparsity of customers keeps the boys keen, and ready to sit in a dark corner with you with only a large cushion to protect your respective modesty. Sadly its current viability once again hangs by a knife edge as low season deepens, but, who knows, it might survive another year, although the boss's health continues to visibly deteriorate. Boys normally dance in just their pants, but even those have been known to be shed by some alcohol-fueled boys late at night. Why does the lovely Nam spring to mind?! šŸ˜… We have lost so much in Sunee Plaza over the years; I so very much miss the depravity of Eros and GoodBoys šŸ˜‚. But as to Winner Boys, it is a case of 'use it or loose it'. Elsewhere there is no real comparison. Several of Charlie's bars in Jomtien Complex get close. I have put cushions to good use in Dodo/Gus Bar and M Bar last year , but they are the exceptions amidst a sea of over-dressed semi-respectability šŸ˜….

  42. I am a little ashamed of my story because I was so naive somehow. Even though I have always been so cautious. I have only been to Colombia once so far. When I was in Bogota literally right outside my hotel across the street was a convenience store where early in the morning I was going to get some water. One man approached me asking for an address of a place and I told him I don’t know, I’m visiting. He replies, I am also visiting from Ecuador. Then another man approached who was wearing a suit showed an ID card of police with No pic!! he said all tourists are supposed to declare their valuables, so what he did he first took cash from the Ecuadorian guy went somewhere behind and then came back and returned him his cash and then he asked for my valuables. Luckily, I left majority of my cash and all my cards in my hotel, but I did have my cell phone with me which he asked for. I handed it to him. He said he will be back and then he never came back and the supposedly Ecuadorian man also left. It then clicked me that they were actually working together. I know this was very dumb of me and I feel so ashamed, but hopefully this story would help someone else.

  43. I’m here in Tokyo for two months and while I’m not having sex every day, I am definitely having more than I have in the sexual desert of the SF Bay Area (mainly because of where I live + my age). I could hire guys, but my experience with that has been mixed, and it can get expensive. But I know there is one guy I definitely want to hire (I saw him last time and it was the most satisfying sex), but I’m waiting until I really need a good fuck. In the meantime, I’m relying on Grindr and 24 Kaikan in Shinjuku. Initially, I wasn’t going to write about this encounter because maybe it’s not that interesting. But for what it’s worth… When I first arrived, I had several guys hit me up on Grindr. One was a kind of nerdy looking Japanese guy who had a really nice dick. Unfortunately, he lived in Saitama prefecture, probably about an hour from where I’m staying. He said he comes to Tokyo sometimes, but also invited me to visit him there. When I was in Kyoto in February, I went to a guy’s apartment and the place smelled like cigarette smoke. He had a huge ashtray that was filled with cigarette butts. I couldn’t wait to leave. Is this a sign of my age that I don’t want to go to someone’s place if they are a messy housekeeper? I was hesitant to travel all of that distance to find myself in a small, smelly apartment with a stranger. But I was horny, so last weekend, I messaged the guy to see if he was available, used Japan Travel app to plot out the route, and set out to Saitama to meet a 27-year-old with a nice dick. The trip was fun. It wasn’t that complicated and I took an express train part of the way, so it went fast. The guy was waiting for me at the station and was cuter in person than in his photos. His English was very good, and exchanges with him were kind of funny. He said things in English that only someone who had lived in the states would say. He seemed to have a good sense of humor. This also came out in person, though I think he might have had some sort of attention deficit disorder because he’d ask me a question and as I started to answer, he’s ask a different question. I found it challenging to talk to him. As we were walking the 10 minutes up and down hills to his place in the 80-degree humidity, he revealed to me that he wasn’t Japanese. He was Cambodian. He thought he had mentioned it in our exchanges, but he hadn’t. It didn’t matter to me. He was tall and thin and cute and kind of funny. By the time we got to his apartment, which was small, but clean and filled with aromatherapy products (so it smelled nice) I was drenched in sweat and exhausted. He had a small kitchen and a bedroom with only a bed to sit on. Well, you know where things went. As I started playing with his dick, it seemed smaller than in the photo. He asked me if it lived up to the photo, which I thought was an odd question, because in fact it didn’t. It was definitely the same cock, but it looked much smaller in person. Did he somehow enlarge it in the photo? Why would he ask me that question. I just said, ā€œhmmm… I need to examine it closerā€ and went down to suck it. It did not live up to the photo. After we finished, he took me to a cute little Chinese restaurant in his neighborhood. I think he wanted me to stay. He was going to make a desert and bought steak for dinner, but I was ready to return to my spacious Airbnb, so I left. I was glad I went. I got to see a part of Japan I’d never seen before. I got away from the tourist crowds and met a cute, funny, albeit a bit quirky guy. I will probably see him again even though his dick definitely did not live up to the picture. Sorry this isn’t terribly exciting, but I thought I’d share this unusual experience. Maybe someone can explain the dick pic to me.

  44. I feel sorry for President Biden to have to go through all of this and I'm hopeful that the hormone treatments will effectively manage his cancer for the rest of his life. He'll have good doctors who know the latest options. I had a PSA test when I was 62 and it was in the normal range. For the next twelve years, my doctor would give me a digital rectal exam at my annual physical except for one year when she missed. I was out in the parking lot when I realized it and almost walked back in to remind her, but I decided to wait another year. The next year she found a lump on my prostate and sent me for a biopsy. It came back with a Gleason 9 score, the same score Biden got and the highest one there is. I also got a PSA test which came back within the normal range. I wanted to learn everything I could about this unusual form of prostate cancer and I was lucky to join a terrific support group and learn about some other tests I could do. I had the biopsy sample genetically tested and found I had an aggressive fast-growing cancer, but one that did not create a high PSA. I also had a CT scan that told me the cancer had not yet metastasized outside the prostate wall, but that it was about to. My support group recommended one of the best surgeons in the area and he wanted his hospital to check the biopsy results and, using the same biopsy samples, they came back with a Gleason score of 7. So how about that? An aggressive fast-growing form of prostate cancer, that a PSA test wouldn't have picked up, that generated two different Gleason scores, and that a digital rectal exam found just in time. I decided on surgery, one where they check to make sure the walls are clear of cancer cells and, if they're not, they go back in and cut a little wider. The surgeon also took out twenty-three nearby lymph nodes, just in case some cancer cells had escaped from the prostate and were in circulation. The lymph nodes all came back clear. That was seven years ago and I get an ultra-sensitive PSA test twice a year. Knock on wood, they've been coming back undetectable. I'm writing all this to let my esteemed fellow-posters know that there's more than one kind of prostate cancer and that generalities don't cover them all. I think each of us is his own best advocate and should do the level of screening and testing he feels is right for him. If you decide to do little or no testing, the odds are likely to be in your favor. If you decide to go for a higher level of surveillance, don't let anybody talk you out of it. President Biden and I are both lucky to have access to good medical care and I hope that others will have access to the knowledge and support they need to take good care of themselves.

    May Trip Report

I tried my luck with Prestige today. I'd read a few posts saying that the masseurs there don't routinely offer extra services. So imagine my surprise when the one I booked went straight for it—without even asking first. The massage itself was excellent: proper technique, with plenty of suggestive moves that hinted at more. Then, in the last 30 minutes, things escalated quickly. He went down on me, and I ended up fucking him. We even shared a shower afterward, where I took him again. I don't know if it counts, but he keeps on saying that he liked me and asked until when I am staying in Bangkok. I tipped him 2000 THB after.

  47. That’s not what is happening now. People are being kidnapped at immigration check-in appointments and even as they go for their citizenship. ā€œDo it legallyā€ - they are doing it legally and it doesn’t matter. Mothers being torn away from their screaming children, children kidnapped on the way to school and volleyball practice. No warrants. No ID. No formal charges. No due process. Oh, and now Trump realizes that no one will pick our fruit and vegetables or clean his hotel rooms if he deports everyone. If this is about criminality, why aren’t they going to the places where gangs are selling drugs? I can tell you exactly where to go in SF and SFPD knows exactly where to go as well. Instead, they’re going to immigration courts and workplaces. So fuck off with your stupid analogy. And PS - everything was fine in LA before ICE showed up and Cheeto Mussolini sent in the National Guard.

  48. In another thread there are comments about a flower festival in Baguio in The Philippines. Not so well known is the one that has been held annually in Chiang Mai for more than 40 years and has become a major tourist attraction. Held next year for three days in February, the dates have not yet been set but it takes place over a week-end. Apart from seeing an abundance of flowers in the Chiang Mai area, there is always a major float parade on the Saturday. It's a bit like the summer Candle Festival in Ubon Ratchanthani except the floats are made of flowers and not wax. I have not yet attended and so these photos are from the official Flower Festival site.

  49. After Foodland, we walked to Ibis Styles. The room I got had the same layout as shown in the Agoda listing. We spent the next two hours together before I was exhausted and fell asleep first. He slept later at 3am. It's his usual sleeping time. So he watched Tiktok videos but he kept volume down for my consideration. The next morning, he wakes up and goes to work at his packing and delivery job. I really respect him for working two jobs!
