Thare was no plan at all this time but sad circumstance. My best friend died and I decided I owe to him and his family to attend his funeral. Since it was half way between my home and Thailand and I spotted cheap flight to bkk I resolved to buy it and worry about using it week later, after funeral. Which exactly happened and glad I did as it helped me to place me back on track.

I disagree. Some people may consider it touching gesture as everybody realizes there are nicer things to do than strolling mud covered streets full of grieving locals.
