  1. Back in December, 2023, shamelessmack had better luck at Paradise Spa in Boyztown: https://shamelessmacktwo.travel.blog/2024/01/08/a-little-closer-to-paradise/
  2. Another one entirely: A Chinese woman was arrested & charged with the theft of 6 gold nuggets worth 1.5 million euro, which were stolen from the Museum of Natural History in Paris last month. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c62ez36ndp3o
  3. Wow, the Voice of Experience! Thanks for all the helpful advice.
  4. Interesting! Article in The Guardian on the painting: https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2025/oct/08/david-hockney-don-bachardy-christopher-isherwood-california-queer-art
  5. There is definitely the possibility of extras at many low-end, mixed masage 'foot massage' shops. One problem is that the massage will (probably) not take place in a private room but in a curtained off area of a larger space & that may put a damper on things. You will only find this out after you have agreed to do the massage. Also, not every guy in a shop like that will be willing to do 'extra' or might not be very skilled at it.
  6. I have done stops in London (twice), Vienna & Istanbul (also Seoul) on trips from NY to BKK & I agree that it is a better value than flying direct.
  7. @vinapu is right! I was forgetting that for this board's members, neither rain nor heat nor gloom of night (or a long walk) shall keep them from seeking some quality time with a handsome, young masseur! As for me, I am not as young as I used to be.
  8. I'd allow 30 mins from Silom Rd to get to either Prince or S'sense so a bit more than an 'easy' walk. Go down Convent Rd to Sathon Rd, cross the pedestrian bridge & then straight down Suan Phlu. S'sense is right on Suan Phlu & Prince is up Soi 6.
  9. Harris does seem to be settling scores left & right but the advance for a book by a prominent politician (even after a defeat) will probably be in the millions of dollars & it's free publicity after all.
  10. I would definitely be interested in your report. Maybe you should start a new thread?
  11. Older guys like myself may recall (dimly or otherwise) the 1950's-60's era of muscle magazines. Here is a nice article from the New Yorker looking back to that time: https://www.newyorker.com/culture/photo-booth/the-secrets-of-physique-magazines
  12. Very sad news! He was, as you say, quite popular in the 50's-60's, writing a lot of funny songs & performing. But then, around 1970, he just stopped & went back to his scholarly career. He is quoted as saying: Political satire became obsolete when Henry Kissinger was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. I think that his decision to withdraw from writing & performing may be one cause for his obscurity.
  13. You're not the only one!
  14. The documentary is titled Hidden Master: The Legacy of George Platt Lynes. Trailer of YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTPljOAhj8g&t=1s Review from The Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/film/2025/jul/07/hidden-master-the-legacy-of-george-platt-lynes-review-eye-opening-snapshot-of-new-yorks-queer-scene
  15. More cases of media exposure could increase the popularity of the sport.
  16. There's also some Only Fans content on porn sites like Pornhub (or so I am told).
  17. Good advice! The only other requirement is that your passport must be valid for 6 months beyond the length of your stay.
  18. The 787 has been in service for 14 years with no previous serious accidents. Someone pointed out that the landing gear on the plane had not been retracted as it normally would have been which is another indication of a major systems failure.
  19. US State Department travel warning is to 'exercise caution' in 3 southern provinces, not in Thailand as a whole: Exercise Increased Caution to: Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, and Songkhla provinces due to civil unrest associated with ongoing insurgent activities I agree that such travel advisories should generally be taken with a sizable grain of salt.
  20. Great photos! Thank you for posting.
  21. A major force in gay literature for the last 50-odd years: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2025/jun/04/edmund-white-novelist-dies
  22. It could be that prices escorts charge in CDMX are determined by what they can earn in LA or Houston or what rich California (?) gays are willing to pay in Puerto Vallarta. This blog by a gringo expat in CDMX has descriptions of the gay scene, including cruising, parties & sex clubs, mainly intended for younger guys who don't want to pay: https://traceyparkertravel.com/ Not sure how up-to-date the information is but interesting reading!
  23. Unfortunately I have also encountered very promising looking guys hanging out in front of Da Nang massage shops but I realized that they are just touts & the services in the shop are all provided by women. Apparently it's a pretty common scam in Da Nang for touts & motocy drivers to steer men to 'VIP Massage' shops which then rip them off in various ways (or so I've been told).
  24. Totally agree. I have read & enjoyed each one of your posts & I appreciate your candor in talking about the ups and downs of dealing with your Thai ex-BF.
  25. @bkkmfj2648, thanks again for your excellent & enjoyable posts! It really is a reminder that I should return to Da Nang for another visit. AND... I am looking forward to a detailed report if you make contact with the dreamboat at Hero Spa!
